Did you catch the dance at 1:03?

Gov.Sarah Palin has crossed swords with conservation groups over petroleum drilling, but she earned nothing but praise Friday after announcing the most ambitious renewable energy goals in the nation.

About 24 percent of Alaska’s power already comes from renewable energy, mostly hydropower from the Alaska Panhandle. Reaching Palin’s goal will take major projects to serve Alaska cities that are beyond the reach of single utilities, said Pat Lavin, an attorney for the National Wildlife Federation.

He called Palin’s announcement “a defining moment in Alaska’s history.”

“We just became a leader among states in committing to renewable energy as the power source of the future,” he said. [emphasis added]

For those boycotting Pravda Alaska:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin says she wants half the state’s electrical power produced from renewable resources by 2025.

Palin announced the goal Friday and laid out a two-part plan to bring affordable energy to Alaska homes and businesses.

ramrocks: I’m reminded of a favorite quotation:

“If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.”

Margaret Thatcher said that. Governor Sarah Palin will get renewable energy projects done while President Barack Obama gives ponderous speeches about the need for them.
