UPDATED: Ankle-Biters Saddling Palin With Hundreds of Thousands in Personal Debt
(h/t Tom at It's A Kwazy Life)
Lisa Demer at the Anchorage Daily News has a long article out today about Governor Palin being saddled with hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal debt caused by defense against frivolous ethics complaints and lawsuits.
Critics will undoubtedly say that Palin is "whining" or "playing the victim card," but, astonishingly, the only reason this came to light is that Palin was required to disclose the legal debt on her annual financial disclosure, which she filed yesterday. The disclosure is not yet on the state website; when it is, it should be available here.
The disclosure said only that she owed "hundreds of thousands of dollars." On Friday in the written statement, attorney Thomas Van Flein wouldn't give a precise number but said it was "a substantial debt." Palin said she didn't have an exact figure yet but "the debt is over a half a million dollars."
The article revealed that the perennially-obsessed attention freak Andree McLeod is continuing to file frivolous complaints:
[McLeod's] most recent complaint, filed this week, accuses Palin of using state resources to post a campaign message on the state Web site, and using her state spokesman to address confusion caused by her political action committee.
Well, I looked through all the recent messages on the Governor's website, and I don't see anything that is a "campaign message." As to the second part, it's apparently in reference to Mr. Bill answering a question about whether the Governor would attend a GOP fundraiser in June. You'll recall that McAllister and Palin were blasted in the press because of a miscommunication with SarahPAC about the event; it looks like even the extreme firewall that Palin has placed between political and gubernatorial activities, which handicaps her by resulting in these types of crossed signals, has not served to head off ethics complaints.
The complaints are indeed being dismissed as frivolous:
Out of the 10 complaints, Palin said six have been dismissed, one had "concluded," and three are pending.
The article also reveals an amazing fact about the Tasergate investigation I hadn't previously known (although others may have). Palin's opponents in Legislature appropriated $100,000 in state funds to investigate her. Palin was allotted $95,000 to pay for her own defense, but because she thought the issue was purely political, she refused to touch the state money and assumed the cost herself. The same goes for all the other ethics complaints, even though they've resulted from her official actions as Governor. Talk about integrity.
Palin opponent Hollis French (who has legal problems of his own) defended his actions:
"The investigation came in 25% under budget, which is clear evidence that the investigator was restrained and judicious in the work that he performed," French wrote Friday evening.
So Hollis French appropriated the taxpayers' money to attack his political opponent on behalf of the Obama campaign. Meanwhile, Palin paid for her own defense, and even her supporters in the legislature had to seek pro bono legal assistance in an attempt to stand by her.
And what did the taxpayers' dollars achieve, aside from giving the Obama campaign an "October surprise"? A purely symbolic "contempt" resolution against Todd Palin and others, that was orchestrated in secret and against which the targets were not allowed to defend themselves.
There are even legal attacks against Palin in the Lower 48. The article states there was a small-claims court case against her in Washington (?). And though it wasn't mentioned in the article, a Z-list celebrity named Gregory Charles Royal recently filed a class-action suit against Palin in federal court, because her office neglected to issue a routine Juneteenth proclamation in 2007 - an oversight that was later rectified.
(Just to show the moral character of Royal and the other ankle-biters, he is the same individual who went public during the campaign with strange allegations that in 1990, Palin refused to have sex with him only because he was black. Palin was a married mother at the time, and pregnant with her daughter Bristol. The same so-called "journalist" who aired this weird story, Charley James, also spread the smear that Palin called Barack Obama "Sambo" and Hillary Clinton a "bitch.")
When you see the tactics used by Palin's political opponents, like personal slander and destruction, attacks on young children, and legal terrorism to destroy a person financially, it makes you wonder how any ordinary American can possibly go into politics. Tom says "Think again about entering politics." Indeed:
"On August 29, it seems the political landscape changed in Alaska. Now, it seems in order to do this job as Governor, with the political blood sport some are playing today, only the independently wealthy or those willing to spend their income on legal fees to defend their official actions in office ... can serve," Palin said.
The article states that Palin will likely have to start a legal defense fund to help with the expenses:
Palin made $131,891 last year, counting her $125,000 salary and expense payments she collects when she's away from Juneau, according to the disclosure. Todd Palin made $86,150 from his two jobs, as a commercial fisherman and a BP production operator.
"Obviously we cannot afford to personally pay these bills -- and really no future governor should feel the sense of financial vulnerability at the hands of those with a political vendetta bent on personal destruction," Palin wrote. "Some have suggested a legal fund to pay these bills. We'll have to pursue that."
UPDATE: Here is the full conversation between Palin and the Anchorage Daily News. It reveals that the ADN is very, very concerned about such hard-hitting issues as whether Bristol Palin was given baby blankets as gifts, and that someone gave Governor Palin a pair of eyeglasses - Lisa wants to know when and where she wore them. (Palin's response: "Really, Lisa, are you kidding?")
For those who may have forgotten, Lisa Demer heads up the Trig Truth Research Department at the ADN.
UPDATE by RAM: Last week at Hot Air, some people were snickering at the miscommunication gaffe between the governor's office and SarahPAC over the governor's invitation to speak at the GOP Congressional fundraiser in D.C.
I wrote then:
You can snicker about this all you want, but the fact remains that there is a frivolous ethics complaint still pending against Bill McAllister, Gov. Palin's press secretary, and Kris Perry, Gov. Palin's aide. The frivolous complaint was lodged by one Andree McLeod, a woman with a bizarre vendetta against Gov. Palin because she was denied a patronage job.
She charged McAllister with working on "partisan activities" on the government's dime. The partisan activities include McAllister's coordination of Palin's press availability at the RNC convention before she was named to the ticket. He was arranging for her to be interviewed as the Governor of Alaska, but in those interviews she would acknowledge her support of the Republican presidential candidate; therefore, McAllister was engaging in "partisan activities." And he said factually correct nice things about his boss while she was running for vice president. Oh, and he also answered Palin's partisan critics. These are the sort of "ethics charges" he is facing. In the current political climate in Alaska, McAllister is wisely steering clear of any involvement with SarahPAC. The next FOIA request from McLeod will be for phone records. She'll go through the governor's office phone records and highlight any calls placed to or from the governor's office and SarahPAC.
And when she files another worthless frivolous ethics complaint, I expect that Allahpundit will post it here without offering any commentary on the circumstances. He'll just be his usually snotty self and make a lame wisecrack implying that Gov. Palin is a crook.
It turns out that I was correct. McLeod did file another ethics complaint -- and this one even takes aim at the SarahPAC miscommunication gaffe:
McLeod also takes issue with comments made by Palin's spokesman this week after news stories said the governor would be headlining one of the biggest Republican events of the year, the June 8 congressional fundraiser dinner in Washington, D.C.
Bill McAllister, the governor's communications director, said Monday the governor didn't know about the request and hadn't confirmed she was attending. The next day, a spokeswoman for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, said the organization had mistakenly confirmed she would attend without clearing it.
McLeod contends the governor used state resources for "purposes that have nothing to do with the state's interests and everything to do with her personal, extremely partisan political Washington, D.C., beltway interests."
McAllister said he was just trying to answer questions about the governor's travel plans because of wild assertions that she travels all the time.
"There's an irony here, too: I was clarifying that the governor might well not do something political," he said in a written statement.
When it comes to these crazy vindictive frivolous ethics charges, Mr. Bill can't win. Gov. Palin can't win.
Gov. Palin zeroes in on the pertinent facts of case right here:
"If the public knew the resources we spend on answering bogus complaints and over 150 FOIAs, they would be flabbergasted at the absurdity of it all."
Why is McLeod doing this? The Governor tells us why:
"She hounded us for a job for many months, didn't get hired and decided to go this route."
The aim here is simple. Keep the ethics charges coming no matter how frivolous they are. They want to steal from her one of her most admirable qualities -- her track record as a genuine ethics reformer. All they care about is the headline: "New ethics complaint against Gov. Palin." It doesn't matter that the complaint is frivolous and will be tossed out of court. All that matters is the headline -- and the distraction and the waste of time and money and energy.
We see the game they are playing. We see through them. We're not buying it. We won't stand for it.
UPDATE II by VO: I encourage our readers who support Palin, particularly those in Alaska, to write their state legislators to do something about his ongoing travesty. In particular, the following Senators are particularly supportive of Governor Palin:

Gene Therriault: Senator_Gene_Therriault@legis.state.ak.us

This is so sad. I really feel for her. I can imagine all the hell she's going through because it is simply easy for them to target a good-hearted person who could never imagine the evil in a person. She reminds me so much of Mr. Smith in the movie when they wanted to start a smear campaign against him, but all he ever wanted to do was to serve the people and do good things.
This is why more good people don't serve in government.
Of course, her critics will say it's self-serving, but she ought to get the legislature to enact "loser pays" rules for these kinds of lawsuits while she's got the reins.
Anything that adds to the state workload -- such as requests for specific e-mails -- should also require payment up front.
While the Founders wanted access and transparency for citizens, I'd have to believe that even they would endorse some commonsense guidelines for frivolous lawsuits.
I hope someone with deep pockets and an abiding sense of what this democracy was meant to be, will step up and offer to help Gov. Palin with the legal bills.
And she can't write a book and get earn money from that because of the same ankle-biters. She can't travel and raise funds for her PAC as other governors do because of the same ankle-biters. They are obviously set to ruin her financially, ruin her family, ruin her good name. One has to marvel at her dogged determination, her servant's heart, her family's support for her to go on even after all this.
Let's contribute to her fund as much as we can, I hope I'll be able to give to her legal fund. That is how we fight the dark forces. Let's roll.
looks like she might need to get around to writing that 11 million dollar book....
"Palin said she knew the case had turned political when CNN reported that the Obama campaign had spoken with the troopers' union about Monegan.
wow....thats just......wow.......
This gives her a valid reason to not run for re-election. She can say, "I would love to run for re-election, however I cannot afford it anymore." This way, she can take time to write her book, do research to give her a competitive edge when running for 2012 as well as do many speaking engagements across the nation and the world to collect money. With this kind of income (like Bill Clinton), she can spend more time with her children and her family!
God has always been on Sarah's side and he has great plans for her with every obstacle that gets in her way because I've always been a believer of "everything happens for a reason."
I know that we've joked from time to time about McLeod in the "ankle biting attention freak" vein, but the realities of what she and others like her are doing are much more sinister. SP refers to it as political blood sport, and part of that evidences itself in the hatespeak of people like Sherry Whitstine and a commenter called Chasm - who both pollute Alaskan blogs day after day. Actually, that's not quite right because the incitement to continue with personal attack comes from some of the blog writers themselves. I think it's appalling that anyone should find themselves potentially buried in debt simply because they choose to defend their good name. The political nature of all of this is even apparent at the highest level of the State Legislature, as those emailing Halcro know only too well. Truly sickening to read this ADN report.
death by a thousand cuts.
She said the legal bills all stem from her actions as governor.
Then shouldn't the office of the Governor help pay for that?
most of these cases are ambulance chasers trying to cash in.
if these ankle-biters are so motivated, why can't someone from our side file ethical charges against Elton, Hplaitns agains Halcro, Wooten and the rest of the gang? We have to be determined as well. Taking up an administration job after a partisan witch hunt like Elton did seems to be unethical to me. Why can't someone in Alaska file complaints against him? We have to take matters in our own hands and fight with the same methods they use. This can't keep going on, otherwise we'll lose more good people to such jerks.
She can fight these ankle-biters in the public arena, if she decides they have over-reached on a particular thing.
Go on a radio show, or a TV news appearance while in the course of doing state business, and use her tremendous appeal to those not brainwashed against her, which fortunately is about %75 of the voters. Some against her are persuadable the other way.
Sarah can stick the knife in, and be so charming while doing it that the ankle-biters suddenly look rather unappealing, petty and obsessive. She has that in common with Reagan, deliver a body blow with a smile.
It will work too.
I think this may be the beginnings of public pushback by Sarah on these wieners.
I hope it is, because Sarah is very effective at responding to stuff like this when she deems it's time to hit back.
Don't we have people here on C4P who are from Alaska? What if they begin a concerted effort to file multiple bogus "ethics" charges against people such as Hollis French? We may need to find a few of our own "Andree McLeods" up there.
I had a somewhat similar experience, yet on a much, much smaller scale when I worked for the state. I wasn't an elected official but was a political appointee. A rabid group of malcontents tried everything they could think of to get me removed and replaced with someone from their ranks. They even went so far as to get legislation introduced to change the requirements for my position. The administration was in my corner, as were key legislators, so we managed to get their silly legislation referred to a study committee, which is the big black hole where ridiculous bills go to die, never to be heard from again, but not before we had strung the process along so that the malcontents were forced to spend as much money as possible for a lobbyist and the accompanying expenses. We bled the fools dry.
That convinced me that public service wasn't worth the grief, so I bailed a few years later and started a business.
My little episode was nothing compared to the crap Sarah is having to endure. She's definitely got supernatural strength to keep going. This kind of garbage is exactly why good people won't run for office, and why our local and federal government is in such dismal shape -- too many of the people who do run are morally bankrupt and in it for the wrong reasons.
Let us know when a legal fund is set up and let's retire this debt for her. Crap like this just causes my head to explode.
I'll definitely donate to Palin's legal funds. She goes through enough BS from these people from her state. What a good woman she is.
DB, that's what I am thinking too. We need to find people in Alaska who can file complaints against these wretches and God knows, we have a lot of legitimate grounds. Start with Elton. Elton should be publicly embarrassed and Obama administration should be made to drop him. Let's organize.
For now, this will do:
SarahPAC.com
BTW, you'd expect someone at the Corner to pick this up to help a fellow conservative suffering under a political blood sport. Apparently not.
The Corner is usually pretty slow on the weekends, as most of the people there tend to take Sat. and Sun. off of the computer, and get back into it on Monday morning. K-Lo is around, but most of them are absent.
Sarah has some friends at NRO, K-Lo is one, as well as Jim Geraghty and the best, Mark Steyn.
Mark Levin posts at The Corner occasionally, and he's a friend of Sarah who's offered to go into courtrooms on her behalf if needed.
He's a shark in a courtroom, and Sarah would do well to remember his offer from the campaign.
He interviewed Sarah's attorney about Troopergate on his radio program, and told him if they needed any legal help, he's got the Landmark Legal Foundation on her side.
Well, so much for my legal defense fund question in the open thread. I hope she starts one soon, so I can contribute.
This stuff is ridiculous. re-election in 2010 to me is seeming more and more not feasible (you're swaying me Techno!). If she is going to run for POTUS in 2012 after being re-elected, these jerks are going to be like leeches. Sarah has some big decisions to make the next 9 months.
Normally, doesn't the loser of the lawsuit pay the legal fees? If she was charged with whatever's she's doing as governor, then shouldn't the State be responsible for it?
This doesn't make any sense to me. I think she needs a better lawyer.
That Andrea Macleod hag looks like she just needs to get laid.
I am so mad about this. What can we do?
We just have to wait until her legal fund is established and contribute to that. Imagine if each person on her Facebook page contributed $2. She'll get over $1million.
For those of you who think that Sarah should still run for re-election in 2010 and then pursue the Presidency in 2011-2012 if this story doesn't make you sit up and take notice, nothing will.
The forces of evil mean to take Sarah out. Like the 16 points on a compass, they will launch attacks from 16 or more directions, some simultaneous. This is only one line of attack.
Alinsky would be so proud.
I wrote an off-handed comment awhile back that Gov. Palin was going to go broke doing her job. I didn't realize how true that was.
I can't imagine all the things this woman has hanging on her shoulders right now.
She needs that mythical million dollar book deal to survive! I hope she gets it.
This just makes me so mad and sad at the time. She shouldn't have to pay for trivial lawsuits. Please let me know what I can do, other than pray.
Yeah, I already had a feeling she was going to go broke doing her job when she wanted to balance work with family and all the cost for family travel to and from the capital. Didn't realize it was all the legal fees that would bring her down.
Maybe she should start her own show, like a NewsBuster type of thing. Everyone would pay attention to her and she'd be the voice of truth in the bad world of journalism and bias reporting.
Something tells me that she doesn't want to write the book until she is ready to outline her policy positions in great detail.

Hi techno,
I've always hoped that Sarah does NOT run for re-election. The AABA (Alaskan Anklebiters Association) will not allow her to leave the state after the 2010 gov election (which she would win handily, no doubt). She'll never be our Prez if she stays in Alaska.
Julie
Julie:
My sentiments exactly and the argument that I have been trying to make all along in my several postings on the subject.
If she is re-elected then she won't have to worry about the ankle biters anymore. She will have a mandate to govern as she sees fit.
ugafish:
If you really believe that you also believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus.
Can SarahPac pay for the legal bills?
I know they will still complain, but the re-election would confirm that the majority of Alaskans approve of the job she has done, and would like her to continue to implement her vision. It would send a strong message to her critics that none of their efforts were able to damage her, thereby rendering them ineffective.
Despite the plea from many on here that she shouldn't run, IMO that would be a mistake. Winning re-election shows you're an effective governor and you've earned the people's trust for a 2nd term.
What do you think naysayers, the media will say when she says she won't run for 2nd term? The narrative will be that she had a turublent 4 years as governor and was probably afraid of defeat. We've all seen what Mitt Romney was able to do as a 1 term governor when he ran for President. Obviously Mitt is no Sarah. However, showing that you're able to win relection goes a long way. She'll make the decision that's best for her and we will all support her no matter what.
Colin:
I am not concerned about Romney and am not convinced at all that voters rejected Mitt because he was 'only' a one-term governor. I think what did Mitt in what his flip-flop on abortion, Mormonism, and his personality. Having a 2 term resume would have done nothing to make these issues more palatable to the voters.
Sarah's situation as Governor of Alaska is unique because of two reasons: Obama's vow to destroy her and the hatred of the Alaskan GOP for her led by forces loyal to former Governor Murkowski.
Add the anklebiters to the mix and the mounting legal bills for that reason alone she should not run for re-election.
But add the goal to run for the Presidency in 2012 Sarah does not need the 'added credibility' to be seen as a 'major player' by the base. Sarah is a superstar in the mode of Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods does not need any more crediblity or stature; neither does Sarah. Her resume as only a one-term governor will in no way diminish her in the eyes of her supporters or potential supporters. We have already seen enough. Sarah is the real deal. We do not have to see any more.
Rosie, I don't think SarahPAC can pay for the legal bills, because that's not the stated purpose of the PAC.
Yeah I certainly understand your point Tecno, I guess we just have to agree to disagree.
LindaW---'doesn't the loser pay attorney fees?'THATS WHY SHE'S PAYING, SHE LOST!!! You all just keep paying and praying for her---she will never be re-elected to Gov. We got wise to Miss Sarah's antics. When she was first elected, we were in her corner just like all of you, then she showed her true colors and it with down hill from there, it will happen to you to, just wait, its a long time till 2012!!!
Off-topic, but here's a nugget that I found...this group, Americans in Contact, is fighting for 'Cuda's re-eleciton. It was the group reported by Lamb, Fagan, and Alaska Ear regarding Palin polling in Alaska. It may warrant a post or not...
http://americansincontact.org/blog/?p=138
"March 12th, 2009
Washington, DC - Americans in Contact PAC has launched a multi-state campaign in support of re-electing Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin. In her tenure of serving in public office, Sarah Palin has stood for core conservative values like limited government, strong families, lower taxes and expanding our domestic energy development. Many liberal extremists across America are gearing up to fight against Sarah Palin and her reelection for Governor of Alaska. In response, Americans in Contact PAC is building a grassroots network of Palin supporters to fight against the liberal extremists from winning in Alaska. By starting now, Americans in Contact PAC will be poised and ready to fight liberal special interest groups and help re-elect Governor Palin."
You know, Techno, I share your concern, but consider they have thrown all this garbage at her and she's still in the low 60s, down from her stratospheric popularity before but still. Her popularity in the greater 48 is probably in the high 40s or the low 50s. She still these sizable legal bills, so she still needs to have a job, and being an executive, is more her style. She has a relatively newborn child, and at least adolescents to take care of, as well as help Bristol raise Tripp. She has a temperamentally active personality, she did what she thought was the relatively short McCain speaking tour, which she made her own, going all ‘rogue and diva’ was for a greater goal. Without her post in Juneau, from where she serves as a continual example, she loses something of her force. Plus Alaska despite everything is her safe place. This is so infuriating, because there is no ‘side to her’, she is as genuine as she appears, so consequently the larger media, always use that application of Rules 5, and 12, against her. Brickley, who himself seems to have gone’ rogue’ since I last talked to him, repeated that line about her generating a
‘cult of personality’ which unfelicitously made it into the Jane Mayer piece. He’s right, we andTeam Sarah and soon to Mavericks 4 Palin are living proof, and I say it’s about time, specially with some one who is worthy of such admiration
Without her office, she has a platform. but she's more vulnerable
against the more ravenous MSM, and
sinisphere, and all the
insinuations of her being a 'diva, regretably have more weight, and if she leverages SarahPac and loses what then
Hey Pat, first of all 6 complaints have been dismissed. Second of all, she would win re-election in a walk. She has a 60% approval, 30% disapprove. And we do see her true colors. That's why we like her.
Notice what it says in that announcement by Americans in Contact PAC, a "multi-state" campaign...just interesting is my reaction.
Are they going to promote her re-election campaign on a national level by running commercials outside of Alaska as a way to get her some pub during her re-election?
Unless you live in Alaska, you don't know the real Sarah, only the televised, promoted one, the one she wants you to see. Good Luck, she has so much baggage, she won't make through the primary's!!!
Axelrod's minions are still at it huh?
patm, just a little legal education. NO...losers do not always pay legal bills. It depends on the type of case as to whether or not the law allows an award of attorney's fees to the prevailing party. And, IF the law so allows, an award of counsel fees is solely left to the discretion of the court.
are all of the anti Palin people as dumb as Patm?
I once again, agree with techno it would be better for her NOT to run for reelection. Obama would have his trolls in Ak. making life hell for her and she would not be able to leave AK. to come to the lower 48 to campaign in 2012. She will probably have a book out in late 2010 or 2011 and will need to be in the lower 48 to tour for her book. Ak. seems to have different rules then most states in the lower 48 which puts her at a disadvantage to come to the lower 48.
This is aggravating! I was thinking after all the news this week Saturday would be a nice relaxing not get mad at the media and ankle-biters day. I hope there is aggravation up there in Alaska. The Governor has been committed to Alaska and to rooting out corruption. This garbage being thrown at and around her is beyond vile, it's evil. There are somedays when I just want her to get out of government and the public eye for her own sake. But, she is just not built that way. I agree with previous posts, God has a way of taking even the most difficult of circumstances and making it be for your benefit.
Pat, if I were to base my opinion of her from what's reported on tv, I would be led to believe that she was a horrible, incompetent person. I base my opinion on her from her record and service. I choose not buy into what SNL or CNN makes her out to be. I actually belive in things called "facts."
Nothing I say will change any Palin supporters on here, you are so blinded by her beauty, you can't see the truth, I just hope you don't put all your hopes on her, and waste all the time and money pushing for a person who can't win in 2012,there has to be a least one conservative repub. who can run and win in 2012, she is telling you just what you want to hear, just like she did in Alaska when she ran for Gov.
Then why in the hell are you still talking ...
Ram or anyone,
Do you have a citation to where Palin fights the "she increased spending by so and so spending %?" You mentioned in another thread that the reason why the spending increase was so large was that Murkowski had previously hidden from the budget (kind of the same game that Bush played with his budget) money appropriated in order to hide the fact that he was spending a lot more than he told the public. I'd like to read more about this...
The problem with the logic of that statement, is that if that were true, her popularity would be higher here, than in Alaska; of course she's debunked most of these
lies that keep popping up; whereas they kept getting circulated in the greater 48 on Huff Po, Salon
and in the MSM media
narciso:
"...and she still needs to have a job.''
That is traditional thinking based on needing an income to survive or not idling your time away.
My whole argument is based on SarahPAC overflowing its banks with cold hard cash that Sarah will NOT need a job as she approaches the primary season in fall 2011.
And if you feel, which I don't, that Sarah needs to enhance her credentials or stature, she could use the months after the 2010 mid-terms to do that.
Without a job as JuJu has suggested Sarah could write a book or I would suggest study up on policy, physically train her body, form a kitchen cabinet to consult with on a regular basis, make fundraising speeches in the Lower 48, do the media rounds, get better known in the Beltway, and formulate her strategy to best secure the nomination, and she would be able to accomplish this in an undivided manner since 'she no longer had a job'.
Emerging from her 9 months of 'hibernation' (from the 2010 mid-terms) Sarah would then be physically and mentally prepared to do battle and with SarahPAC flush with funds as momentum grows for a Palin candidacy. Sarah, I believe, could easily then secure the nomination early in the primary process.
Narciso, please begin to think outside the box. Don't be confined by the template of normal behavior or normal circumstances.
Sorry, I didn't mean to word it that way with the legal fees issue so that posters like patm could play with.
patm - If I were to not read anything on Sarah to search for the truth, I would've drank the Kool-Aid just like you did. Just last night on regular news, they announced that Palin will accept 55% of what they were allowed to take and closed it with "Palin rejected funds for education and unemployment." There was no explanation to why, so of course people will end up hating her for that without seeking the truth to her reason for such an action. The mainstream media is either full of lies or half-truths when it comes to her. They really do this because they fear her or for some reason does not want to see her rise above. Why else would you be hell bent on destroying someone's reputation? Where are the morals in these brainless teleprompter readers? Why don't they ask WHY first before they spew out reports? This really enrages me. I think I'm going to have to write to KCAL 9 News to tell them off.
It occurs to me, that we are getting presumptuous in the extreme. Whatever she decides to do we'll support her, if takes a contribution to her defense fund to fend off these jackals, that will be it. If it takes further contributions to SarahPac. If she decides to run again for Governor; I trust her to do the right thing.
She's been 'in the arena' as the T.R. line goes for 16 long years, before we heard of her. If she decides to run for the highest so be it. I was just being a little practical minded, on that point,
yeah surprising coming from moi huh, the idealist.
Why don't we all show our support for Sarah today and the days ahead by not only praying for Sarah and her family, but also the ones who are trying to bring Sarah down. The ones not for Sarah, that their eyes will be opened and that they will see the truth about her and what she stands for and not believe in the lies they hear about Sarah.
The enemy would not want us to pray for those who are against us. Prayer is powerful.
We can show our support for Sarah by rallying around her with our prayers.
Narsco, Sarah is unique. Just think about her short time on the campaign trail...have you ever heard of or seen any person to run for public office(certainly not for a major national office) that got the attention and still holds the attention of the national media like Sarah does without even trying????
That is why she does not need to be concerned with the traditional mode of holding a political office when running for the big prize. I personally can hardly wait until she does a book tour...I know the lines will be around the block and the media will go crazy.
techno, like you I am a believer in her not running for re-election in Alaska. Somebody commented here that she doesn't even have low-level staffers who can forward stuff to receptive media. If she doesn't have such simple infrastructure, she cannot run for 2012, period. Running for US president is not the same as running for Alaska Gov. Even if she wants she can't do it the same way, especially now that she is a known commodity and is the bulls eye of her enemies.
She has to take time off, write a book (basically make her family economically secure), give speeches, tour round the country and the world(to know the issues) etc etc. Most essentially she has to build a team from scratch, from policy advisers to media advisers and she has to maker herself known to people both inside and outside the beltway(industrialists, diplomats etc); this is important, see what happens to Obama when he has limited contacts, he can't staff the Treasury even after two months. She needs to create an entire machine from scratch( she 'll be facing the famous Chicago Machine). They need to be loyal to her which is a big deal(Bush's team was largely loyal and he required it to survive such a brutal place as Washington.) She also needs to come up with new solutions for Bambi's mess, gin up foreign policy etc etc.
All this is not easy and it won't be easy doing it as Alaska Governor with all these ankle-biting nipping at her toes. I wouldn't mind it if she did a second term if she wasn't considering running in 2012. But, this week's actions all suggest she is in fact "keeping her options open."
If she needs experience, she can always sit on the board of heritage Foundation or some other foreign policy thinktank and formulate detailed policies or better, she can take a position on the Board of a Wall Street company and learn how the world of high finance works ( she already understands small business). There are any number of things she can do outside the government to embellish her resume and outlook. She's already a fantastic governor and she can make a great argument that the next person to lead the US would need these extra experience because Bambi doesn't know how the real world operates which shows in his governance.
So, all in all, I don't think not running for re-election would hamper her prospects at all; in fact, I personally think it's best for her. Of course, if she things she can do both, get re-elected as governor and run for 2012, she'll have my support as always.
Alaska already has "loser pays" in litigation, but the loser only has to pay a small percentage of the winner's cost of their attorney's fees. Here's a link to Alaska Civil Procedure Court Rule 82:
http://www.state.ak.us/courts/civ2.htm#82
promachus:
As I have consistently maintained my argument is totally based on Sarah running for POTUS in 2012. If she bows out and does not run, then obviously she should run for re-election and win and then run for Begich's Senate seat in 2014 because she will be term-limited by then.
I would be more than glad to contribute to a legal defense fund. Keep us posted on any additional developments.
The National DEM"S are planted in Alaska since her nomination and will stay since she poses such a threat to their sensitivities and their empty suit Prez. Their only hope of saving him is to attack, destroy, and kill anyone and anything and do so with out any sense of humanism.
Their Prez. is extremely vulnerable and shallow and they know it now like never before and it scares the hell out of them so what does a BULLY do on the play ground, they demean, mock, belittle, destroy credibility and attack family as their last hope to feel some sense of self worth.
bestbud:
What is your evidence that 'the national Dems' have been PLANTED in Alaska since her nomination and WILL STAY...?
This implies a sizeable group. How large is this group?
What are they doing or what strategies are they employing to knock Sarah off her game? Are these activities being reported in the local Alaska media?
Are the local Dems getting their marching orders from the national Dems and can every move they make against Sarah be traced back to Obama?
I'll keep this short and sweet; count me in to donate to her legal fund, as I am already donating to her PAC. I'm in for the long haul; now, how do we let her know that she has a lot of supporters in the lower 48 that are ready and willing to help her with those bills?
Betsy,
Dittos on the prayer suggestion. It is important to continue praying for the Guv, but also those battling her.
There are so many comments on this post that I wasn't going to add my 2 cents, but after reading RAM's update, I just have to say this (borrowing from Hillbuzz, because I LOVE them!):
I.love.this.blog
You people are amazing in your loyal, intelligent, logical and of course humorous at times defense of this amazing woman. I really hope she sees this site someday and hires some of you if/when she decides (God-willing) to run for national office again. This is the kind of grass roots effort that is needed for conservatives. Seriously, keep up the amazing work because you have many faithful followers that come here daily for a little lift in spirits during this dark time. I wish I had more time on my hands so I could contribute more!
Whatever Gov Palin decides to do in her future career, she will have undying support from me! And I hope that if this story of her ridiculous legal fees hits the MSM, she will have support behind her. Sometimes, going the high road seems to cost more (money or personal attacks or both, as in her case) but ALWAYS, always works out in the end...she has God on her side.
Your last statement about getting the headline is so true. I have just spent my entire morning battling the comment board at ADN. Had to walk away, too much distortion, it made my head spin.
They don't care about facts, just smear, smear, smear, still it sticks. We have to fight this battle of perception. They won the perception battle in the election. We have to be the foot soldiers for the Governor. For the country.
I would definitely do my best to contribute to a legal fund, if she were to establish one. I'm not sure whether or not she should run for reelection in 2010 or not, but I do see the pros and cons of each. However, I will trust Gov. Palin to do what is best for her and her family in this regard. If she were ever to run for POTUS, she would have my vote, just based on her record in Alaska. Her treatment by the MSM just proves her worth to me.
On another note, I just read on Drudge that Pres. Obama is thinking about regulating compensation at more companies than ones that have accepted a bailouot. I was so afraid this would happen but hoping against hope that it wouldn't. The Senate is our last hope for the next couple of years.
I started off at Adam Brickley's Draft Palin for VP-look at the results of our efforts there.
Of course most of us had our doubts then; we didn't know that McCain would be so bold, and we honestly didn't know if Sarah could live up to the hype.
We no longer have that problem. Sarah has gone way beyond the hype and her millions of supporters no longer doubt her abilities. We have seen enough. We don't need to see anymore to be convinced.
The only thing we have to do is to persuade millions more to jump on the bandwagon and to remain vigilant to defend Sarah to the death on a 24/7 basis.
Stacy, don't bother with the comment board at the ADN. I used to look at the comments too, but figured out it's no different than looking at the comments on Huff Po or Daily Kos. The ADN is a liberal rag, plain and simple, and I really don't think it reflects the viewpoints of most Alaskans.
I wanted to write something on this, but was too angry.
I'm sure Sarah has a sense of what she should do in 2010. I'll be there to support that decision, as I'm sure most of you will. She's the one taking the beating, so maybe she sees an underlying benefit that makes the sacrifice worthwhile. In the meantime, I'll be there for SarahPac, a legal fund, or whatever it takes to help her on the financial side.
OT: If anyone has the stomach to watch Bill Maher attack Sarah, Bristol, and Tripp, then view at your own risk. When I saw this it made me very mad, even though I know this is what Bill Maher does. The worst part is at the end. There is some profanity:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XXzHlAGje0
I have contributed to SarahPAC and would consider donating to a legal fund if one is set up. Briefly, my thoughts on Gov. Sarah Palin's political future:
If Sarah Palin runs in the 2012 GOP presidential primaries, she will be tested as never before, and then we will see her true mettle as a politician. If Palin is perceived as being victorious in debates against the likes of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, that will increase people's confidence in her.
I believe Sarah Palin’s biggest challenge if she wants to run for president in 2012 is convincing enough Independent voters and perhaps wavering Democrats that she is TRULY presidential-quality and a solid alternative to President Obama. Palin has to gain their respect.
Palin Defender:
Sarah would gain this respect from independents and wavering Democrats by leading the GOP candidates in the 2010 mid-terms to an overwhelming victory, legitimizing her as a Commander-in-chief and cementing her claim to Presidential timber.
Her superatar status and her fundraising would only be enhanced by such a result.
Guys, I suggest we lighten the environment on this beautiful weekend (at least where I'm located at the moment).
Take this poll if you have 15-20 minutes (since you are on here, you probably do!) and write down your "progressive" score.
http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2009/03/progressive_quiz.html
I scored a "78" for the label of "extremely conservative." We can gauge the average C4P score and get an idea as to where the average "Palin" C4P supporter lies on the idealogical scale.
Erich and Stacy who posted above about the ADN, you're exactly right.
I was a subscriber to the ADN for many years. I grew up starting each day reading the daily newspaper with a cup of copy no matter where I lived. I would be down right cranky if my newspaper was delivered late.
But gradually, like so many others, I started getting more and more of my daily news fix on-line. So when the ADN became a troopergate cheerleader, it was pretty easy for me to cancel my subscription.
Since November I have received several telephone calls from them asking me to resubscribe with the offer of free months of subscription thrown in. I told them I would when they stopped attacking Sarah. The ADN person replied that she heard that a lot from other people that she called to reup their subscription. It is no wonder their newspaper is struggling.
TommyReport:
With respect, I disagree with you. Sarah is at war with Obama now. Obama is at war with her through his surrogates MSM and the nutroots. We cannot afford to rest, because we know the Messiah and his merry men and women will never rest until they destroy Sarah Palin in a Carthegenian style.
No sir, we cannot afford to rest for the next 3 years and 7 and 1/2 months.
The future of America democracy, the robustness of capitalism and the surivival of individual liberty is at stake.
Tommy,
84 for me
Tommy I scored "very conservative" also. Sounds like I'm in good company.
You know part of the goal of the 'anklebiter' professional and amateur is to make her, and by extension, anyone who would support her doubt themselves, whether they follow traditional Alinsky rules, 4 & 12. So let's instead talk of what particular
characteristics of her personality and record what draws us to post correcting details, brainstorm strategy, volunteer for her future campaign or contribute money. In my view it was exposure to Bill Dyer Beldar's site that showed her bonafides in fighting public corruption, pushing for oil development, her very pivotal decision to keep Trig, and finally
that picture of her visiting a soldier in Kuwait. I couldn't actively work for her campaign, because of preexisting employment situation, where there was a conflict of interest, but I followed the campaign, on the right blogs (the Corner,VanderLeun,
Weidner, the Standard, JOM, Brothers Judd, Sundries et al) of course they had a much different view than the MSM. I readily spotted the disconnect between Tina and Sarah, that the media missed. And most significantly I watched as Greta almost became a part of the campaign and took us in with her family, specially on that Halloween before the election
After the election, I was probably
as depressed as you, which I shared
with my friends at JOM (which coincidentally TypePad has locked me out of) but I was inspired by
the Miami speech, and I was moved
to find kindred groups of associates

So, how do people at Conservatives4Palin start off each new day:
whine - whine - whine - just like Sarah.
Obviously, the first of the three obligatory "Sarah as victim" posts for the day. You guys play the victim card so often, you should rename the site Democrats4Palin.
Don't forget Sarah wrote these ridiculous ethics and freedom of information laws herself - in league with Hollis French and the Democrats. She is now reaping what she has sown. This happens often to populist politicians.
I'm not sure how, but someone needs to start going after Andree McLeod. I don't mean Palin or her staff, just someone. For 8 years I watched the GOP coddle their opponents, refusing to fight fire with fire. I'm sick to death of it. Yes I know it's usually best to stay above the fray, but you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
More importantly, if McLeod had her way, no governor from Alaska (at least one she doesn't approve of) could ever run for national office, particularly one with little money. Are you kidding me? According to this hag, I imagine Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush all violated ethics laws simply by running for the Presidency while acting as Governors of their respective states.
At any rate, I don't know what can be done. At the very least she should be fined every time she files a frivolous complaint, but I doubt that will happen. It just may be time to have to get down in the mud.
HC: Each day, we stand up and fight for Sarah. We give her our strong and loyal support for her and we will stand by her through all of this.
With regards to that "Progressive Quiz", I found it interesting how some of the statements that they were seeking your opinion on were worded so that they contained multiple points/concepts/issues.
Take for instance:
"It is unpatriotic to criticize our government leaders or our military during a time of war."
That was a nice try HC, really.
Russo,
You are a fricking RINO pal, 81, hahahaha.
C'mon, there's no way I'm the most conservative person in here. I may be the biggest jerk here given my views on the native village situation but there has to be someone who is to my right on government spending. I don't mind splurging on a couple boondoggles here and then as boondoggles do create jobs....
I hate to beat a dead horse and I hate to admit to being a simpleton but could somebody answer my questions regarding the political guidelines Governor Palin is supposed to follow when the legislature is in session?
1)If the session of the legislature is extended, as has been speculated about a week ago, would Governor Palin be restricted to the same guidelines and if so, could the opposition use this ploy simply to shut her up longer?
2)I know that Sarah is not allowed to have any dealing with SarahPAC when in her governor's seat, which includes making phone calls from her office. Does that mean that Meg Stapleton cannot, because of her duties at SarahPAC, see Sarah at her office for any reason? Does that mean that if somebody came up to Sarah in her office and wanted to donate to SarahPAC she would she have to plead total ignorance of SarahPAC or could she refer the donor to Meg, without violating ethics?
3)Why is Sarah allowed to make a speech at the Lincoln Dinner that appears on the surface to be partly partisan and not be in violation of the ethics rules?
4)If Michael Steele, the head of the RNC called Sarah at her office, would she have to refuse his call or could she walk out of her office into the open air and call him back on her cell phone? Or is she barred from talking to any GOP national rep during 'working' hours?
5)If the national press calls Sarah at her office about SarahPAC is she allowed to refer reporters to Meg or does she or her rep have to refuse their call or their questions?
6)If national anklebiters, Obama or prominent Democrats attack Sarah from the lower 48, can she respond or does she have to remain silent, how can she respond and if so can she respond at her office?
7)If Governor Palin had spoken to the GOP legislators at their retreat when she was in Washington, would she have been guilty of an ethics violation?
8)Is Governor Palin allowed to appear on any lower 48 right-wing radio or TV programs if she only talks about Alaskan issues?
9)During the debate about how much Governor Palin is recommending Alaska take of the stimulus package can the national media savage Sarah to no end and does Sarah basically have to take it or face an ethics violation if she decides to strike back in kind?
10)And finally do the other 49 states have the same restrictions on their governors peertainlng to partisan activities while their legislature is in session?
If there is one word that describes Sarah and too many conservatives and Republicans that is word is CHARITABLE.
We are just too damn charitable to people that want to destroy Sarah and America. Why should we always try to see the good side of Alinsky- Marxists like Obama, Axelrod, Emmanuel, Pelosi, Frank and Reid or their agenda?
If there is one word that aptly describers Obama and the Left that word is INSIDIOUS. We don't realize what has happened to America and to us as individuals until 'we get slapped on both sides of the head'.
Come on guys, read the tea leaves here. I can't believe how politically naive the posters and commenters on this site are. Sarah doesn't put this story out - unless she wants it out for a reason.
And the reason is NOT that she wants a legal defence fund. Such a fund would not be allowed under Alaska's ethics laws anyways - so you can all put your wallets away.
Sarah's real reason is she doesn't want to run for reelection for Governor because she wants to cash in on her fame, the multi million dollar book deal, the tens of thousnads of dollars for speaking enagements around the world, even hosting her own show on FOX.
Look, I don't blame her for cashing in. She is a person of modest means and she needs to look after her family's future - especially with a child with special needs. If I were her, I would do exactly the same thing.
However, to really cash in she needs to keep her "brand" in tact. To simply leave to make money would damage her "brand". So she needs to come up with reasons for people to accept her departure while still sympathizing with her - and continuing to see her as a virtuous "victim".
So now we get this half million dollar legal bill argument. And of course the virtuous Sarah says: I will not accept state funds and I will not accept a legal defence fund (she can't anyways). Also, circumstances no longer afford me the ability to serve the State of Alaska and my family - so I must now leave public service and return to the private sector to earn a living for my family. Of course, everyone will have tears in their eyes when she says this.
Look for her to make the announcement this fall. And look for her to have her own show on FOX in January 2011.
Techno - your wish is coming true. She will probably turn over the reigns of power to Parnell in August 2010 and campaign non stop for the GOP, while raking in the dough for herself. If she maintains her popularity she will run for POTUS in 2012.
This is just ridiculous.
You know, I hate to say this because I really hate lawsuits and using the courts. But obviously things have changed.
It is now war.
That being said, I think it is time for this POS Andree Mcleod to get a taste of her own medicine. We need to use the same legal system to go after her and cause her to defend herself. Make her spend thousands of dollars of her own personal money on legal fees. Her life needs to be made miserable by being tied up in the courts on a regular basis. Several weeks ago, Rush made mention of this very fact; he said conservatives are going to have to start using the courts the same way liberals have been using it to attack conservatives. But short of that, if Governor Palin forms a legal defense fund, I will happily support it.
HC,
Yeah, and she also cleverly crafted all the media attacks and smears on her and her family in order to garner sympathy.
She really wanted Andree McLeod to file frivolous lawsuits against her. It's all a big plot.
Put your tinfoil back on. It's medication time.
My score was 160, or "conservative." Btw, did I mention I was an independent for Palin? Guess I'm the most liberal of the bunch, pls don't hold it against me:)
Sarah's too classy but after this Session ends, she should look into filing some sort of harassment suit against McLeod. Make that bitch, who has WAY too much time on her hands, have to fork out some attorney fees for a change.
80/400
HC,
Do you videotape helicopters from your backyard and then post the videos on youtube?
Dude, what went wrong in your childhood? Did Big Daddy go out for cigarettes one afternoon, only to never return?
Let it go. It wasn't your fault.
Everyone who's fan of Sarah is welcome here Victoria. My score was 94 btw. I guess most us are extreme by this poll's standards lol.
i scored a 93. I guess I am an extremist LOL.
Doesn't Sarah also have to pay $18,000 in back taxes?
Don, I don't know where you got that figure from. She repaid the state for ten separate travel expenses. It's unclear whether the per diems were taxable. H&R Block, which is where she had her taxes done, obviously didn't think they were. The state didn't think they were. I hope she paid $35 extra dollars for that "legal protection" service that H&R Block provides if someone questions your tax returns!
HC and DonSmith are the two dumbest trolls I have even witnessed in my entire life
really pathetic
I hate this americanprogress quiz. The questions were too general. I need more specifics. I ended up with 101, but I'm not sure what that really means.
Is Don a troll too? I thought he was just asking a question.
HC, How do you survive on that minimum wage Soros and Co. pay their trolls? Day-um, you could prob'ly do better at Mickey D's.
37/400.
I win!
Observations after reading this thread and the one of her speech after it.
1) People like Mark Levin, who are rich, should be coming to her aid with money for her defense. We can help too. If Mark and others like Rush don't help, then screw them. Those bills should be paid. The question is how can they be paid legally.
R.A.M. can you find out how those bills can be paid legally?
2) Sarah needs to win re-election to stuff it to the Alaska GOP, and by win I mean BIG. Then, if she sees the chance to run in 2012, she resigns and campaigns 100% from primaries forward.
3) Her fans in Alaska need to step up and continue to defend tooth and nail. Obama is doing what he can to destroy her politically, and so is the MSM.
4) This is a call-to-arms. Do not sit there and and feel sorry for her. Take the fight to them.
5) Get her speech from the Lincoln Dinner posted.
Just can not fathom the plight of this country 4yrs from now with the POTUS that we have in charge now, with talking to Iran, just waving the white flag to them, they will stuff it in our face, but O is too naive to see that, or stupid, and not sure which.
We need Sarah, and we need her good judgement, her connecting to the people, and patm not sure what your beef if with the governor is, but with all of this , she has a Goliath to contend with, the MSM, ADN, and all of the Dems that want to place her in the fire, we all know what happened to Goliath - he was a Giant, and we can equate this Goliath to MSM, ADN , and all the people that hate her, I still think that Sarah can still bring down the people that hate her, just do not give up Sarah, it will mean defeat!!! In no way will we want to see that. Really mad.
Aren't Greta and her husband lawyers??
Anyone who thinks that Sarah is not going to run for re-election is out of their minds. By doing that she would be accepting defeat. Can you imagine how the MSM will treat it? They will eat her alive. No matter what the reason is.
Sarah is smarter then that. She will run for re-election and run in 2012 if anything in spite of her attackers. She will win both times.
I came in at 86 on that quiz, therefore to them, I am extremely conservative.
By the way, early supporters like us for Sarah tend to be not moderate due to actual convictions/beleifs that motivate us.
You can bet that the secular leftists who were the backbone of Obama's campaign scored extremely liberal.
The results we are seeing are to be expected.
Where we have the edge is with independents and moderates. Given that Republicans when compared to Democrats tend to favor freedom much more, it opens up the possibility of a country and government that will allow people to be free to pursue their beliefs, liberal/moderate/conservative.
However, with big-government liberalism, there is no choice or freedom.
This is why independents and moderates ultimately will respond better to the GOP than the Dems.
Think bigtent, but through persuasion not capitulation.
Quiz Score: 366/400
Thanks for the link :)
It's good to know what Comrade Cinnamon scored!
Cinnamon,
That score can't be true. That would put you into SF Bay Area...wait. Actually SF itself.
Next you'll tell us you're a Giants fan. Then I'd barf.
new KTUU POLL
http://www.ktuu.com/Global/category.asp?C=81466#poll81807
vote yes
I'm Alaskan. I live in Alaska. And you probably don't want to hear this, but Sarah's popularity here in AK is dropping like a rock. Her refusal of stimulus funds while at the same time telling her commissioners to accept the money is pandering to you Outsiders while at the same time putting our state in danger of not getting all of the funds (there are some tight deadlines). It's pretty clear she's not interested in running our state any more, so he best thing Sarah could do is to not run for reelection and use the time between now and 2012 to write a book, go on the lecture circuit, and pander to you so-called 'conservatives' in a way that does not hurt my state.
I think this is an excellent move on Sarah's part. There are many parts of the package that will straddle the State for years. Asking for debate is what I would expect. Other Governors might actually read this package and find out it is much like the recent packages that have been passed without reading.
She understands by taking all of the funds we grow the size of government in Alaska. Instead, she accepted money that will create jobs.
Hi Anchorage Bill,
Do you know that the stimulus bill was passed without any single member in the House or Senate reading it? Would you expect them to read it before passing 1 trillion dollars in spending. Do you know that she has left the state 2 whole days during the session? Do you know that the Legislators in Alaska have left the Staate also?Do you know that the CBO reported on Friday that the USA can't sustain Obama's budgets over the next 10 years. Obama estimated about 6.3 trillion over 10 years. The CBO estimates about 10 trillion over 10 years. It looks to me that Sarah read more of the stimulus bill than anyone in Washington including Obama. They rushed a 1 trillion dollar stimulus package. Do you know that once some of funds run dry that your state will have to fund it on its own?
Anchorage Bill,
She is not putting your state in danger of not getting all the funds. She just wants it debated on why your state should take the money and that it will not be more spending and expansion of government in your state. She is more interested in running your state than oBama is being President.
Anchorage Bill:
Pretell where does the 64% popularity for Governor Palin comes from: out of whole cloth?
Are you upset that she didn't accept all the stimulus funds or ARE YOU REALLY UPSET at her squaring the circle by demonstrating leadership on the choice while atanding four-square behind democratic debate in the legislature?
Admit it, you're upset because Sarah Palin is a hell of a politician.
Palin is the best governor in the history of my state, and I hope her and her family well.
Her caution on the stimulus shows her great leadership. Because of Governor Palin, Alaska is slowly but surely gaining more independence from the federal government.
She is a hero
You don't think, that Anchorage Bill was actually given enough cue cards or nay a teleprompter, to answer that do you Techno. She read the bill, saw the strings attached to even programs she favored, interesting these same Demopublicans refused to use the Reserves to plug the balance in
state education and other programs. No they are willing to take money from us, with all the
conditions that entails, and when the money runs out, in two years, push for a tax increase?
Excellent post. Adding you to my blogroll!
Good thing the courts take forever to hear these cases. By the looks of the ugly hag who is stalking the Governor she may kick the bucket any day now.
Malignant narcicist think they are meant to live forever and do not take care of their bleeding warts and what nots.Horrible infections are imminent.
I am just sayin'.
Are you all delusional? Alaska barbie has absolutely no shot at becoming president. Ever. Clearly she stands as a "savior" to a significant minority of people in this country, but to the majority she is a JOKE and will never be anything more. Her 15 minutes are up. If she and Limbaugh and Jindal and Hannity are the future of the republican party, then the republican party has no future.
Also: 307/400... and proud of it!
Here come 'Alaskans' like 'Anchorage Bill' spewing more 'BS'...Popularity dropping like a rock?!!??..Where do you 'Alaskans' hang out at?...I NEVER meet you 'so-called' Alaskans dissing on Palin...and I've got 100's of friends/family throughout the state. She's got universal support for rejecting this stimulus from EVERYONE I talk to...So PLEASE,'Anchorage Bill':Tell me where you all hang out at...Under rocks? ¸Or at the ADN's editors offices?...Go back under your rock or STFU...(Or name a time/place I can meet you all.)
-PS 'Anchorage Bill',I'm actually from the planet 'Baraukus'...It must be true,'cause I said so on a blog...
Please forgive my parent, Thora, above
They are delusional. The reason why my family hates Palin is because she is so attractive, while my family is just very ugly.
The men in my family hate powerful women and the women in my family believe that they should stay in the kitchen.
Alaskan's you are imposing self inflicted damage to your State and to your Governor by this pettiness of personal destruction to one another. You are rapidly becoming like the lower 48 and I mean lower like in scum. Your better than us CUT THE CRAP!
