Celtic Diva: Official DNC Blogger

Just a reminder for those who may have forgotten - Linda Kellen Biegel of "Celtic Diva's Blue Oasis", behind the latest frivolous ethics complaint against Governor Palin, was the official Alaskan blogger for the DNC.

UPDATE: Fox News picks up the story - finally! Welcome to the party, pal!

UPDATE II: About time, Greta. I guess you're not running SarahPAC after all.

UPDATE III: As always, an astute take on this from our good friends at Hillbuzz.

Not only did Glenn Beck do a story on this today, but so did Bret Baer.

People such as these have helpless hapless lives, can you imagine waking up every morning and looking in the mirror and seeing in those eyes looking back at you the despair and hopelessness of the rest of your life. I genuinely fell for her to have such low esteem that she can be manipulated so easily but that is how the Dems recruit their followers.

What goes around comes around eventually. Ms. Celtic Diva and all the other ankle biters will see what Gov. Palin is made of, I do believe. The more they nag at her, I bet the more determined she will be!

Greg March 25, 2009 7:13 PM

That is a great find. It would be good to find out if she is drawing a salary from the DNC or some other democrat source.

I don't really see how anyone could have so much bile and bitterness towards someone else. I don't like 0bama, but I could never devote my life to trying to ruin him and his his entire family. She must have a really pathetic, bitter, hateful life.

Celtic Diva is very involved in many aspects of Alaskan politics. If you follow her blogs you will see that she is not hateful, just concerned.

Official Alaskan blogger? She looks more like an official Alaskan Logger.

Hate & harassment comes in all sizes.

Off-topic but CNN reported on Palin's Lincoln Day speech...

TommyReport March 25, 2009 7:48 PM

You guys gotta admit, this one was well-played by Palin, hahaha. She's the one that put this story out there after all with the press release...the Alaskan media didn't pick up on it until Palin reacted. Nice 'Cuda counter for the checkmate.

I'm still skeptical about her stimulus strategy...don't understand why she wanted to correct the erroneous reporting that she had "rejected" money. I thought it would have been more beneficial for her politically in Alaska and nationally to let that perception, though erroneous, stand.

DB March 25, 2009 7:50 PM

Sandra,
Democrat mouthpiece Celtic Diva is a hateful, bitter, moronic individual who has a partisan axe to grind against Governor Palin. Nothing more. She takes her marching orders from the Messiah and jumps. I honestly feel sorry for her.

NY Conservative March 25, 2009 8:08 PM

It just shows how fearful the DNC is of Sarah Palin. I wonder if this celtic diva realizes that the DNC "machine" is simply using her as a tool...a disposable one at that (toilet tissue comes to mind)

Amanda K March 25, 2009 8:10 PM

The CNN write up (mentioned by TommyReport) missed the point of the "praying with Piper story". Too bad, since it's funny as heck.

Glenn Beck covers the story on his show.

Tommy Report,
For the most part I liked that CNN article on Gov. Palin's Lincoln's day speech. I LOVED her jab at the Mccain campain when she described how, just prior to debating Joe Biden, she looked around at all the campaign staffers and 'couldn't find anyone she wanted to hold hands and pray with, so she prayed with piper.' That was a classic.
As for the Celtic Diva, she's not even a bump in the road for the good Gov.

ErichNTejas March 25, 2009 8:31 PM

Over at Redstate, this person AChance claims to be someone who was in the Murkowski administration and is "plugged-in" to what's going on in Alaska politics. He even says he has sat in on meetings with Palin. To say he is not complimentary toward Palin would be putting it mildly, as I'm sure most people associated with Murkowski don't care for her. Does anyone know exactly who this person is or have any other info about him? Just curious.

ShermanCT March 25, 2009 8:33 PM

Amanda K,

Gee, I wonder why the Carville Nuance Network didn't mention the PUNCHLINE???

sarah palin rocks March 25, 2009 8:33 PM

I can see why someone like that would be jealous of Sarah's success but to be so mean spirited to try and ruin Sarah and her family is just unconscionable!

I'm glad Fox, Beck, and others are standing up for Sarah! I heard Tammy Bruce this morning and she was ticked off! Bruce is a big Sarah fan although Bruce is pro-choice.

Greg March 25, 2009 9:14 PM

It looked to me that the "ethics" complaints were going to enumerated and discussed, but Beck kept yacking about something, and the time ran out. I wanted to hear Megyn actually discuss these complaints so that the audiance could hear just how stupid they are.

AmeriCuda March 25, 2009 9:14 PM

ErichNTejas,
In regards to 'Achance' at Redstate. If you've read very many of his post you'll see he is the definition of an 'old boys network' crony of Murkowski who's bitter he got knocked off the gravy train by Gov. Palin's boot. Women-in-power does not appear to be his cup of tea. He's one of these "If only I was in there, I'd kiss a**!" blowhards. The type of old-school throwbacks they need to pick up and throw again.

Well, down here in Virginia, we would never have thought of Arctic Cat as a sponsor for any outdoor wear until our feisty Celtic Diva announced there was a possible problem with it. Every season I played Baseball, my girlfriend would invariably wear my team jacket. I thought that was ok. Damn shame she wasn't a Governor though.

John March 26, 2009 12:28 AM

ErichNTejas- How much information do you want about Art Chance? He is a self described "Right Wing Fascist" and has been in collusion with SOA's Union bosses for years.

Do you think the C4P wants to do a thread on Labor Management Corruption? There's plenty of that in Alaska to make a whole website.

Working for the state and in collusion with AFSCME, he has been helping Union, Government,Republicans and Democrats alike in Alaska subvert any contract , state or federal law for over 20 years. They have made a cottage industry out of defending extremely bad workers with workplace reprisal.

Some described him as a 'Tony Knowles Henchman,' but just 'Henchman' or flipper-flopper is more accurate. There is a C4P thread on Art Chance here.

You should have some idea of paranoid affliction by reading his posts at RS. I'm sure having all the indictments handed down around him has given him some well deserved stress.

Mr. Chance actually gave two donations to the Palin Campaign for Governor, but now he's just sore because he got an appointment from Frank Murkowski's pay-to-play system. Probably expected the same from Sarah, so he's a sore looser. That's far from the only thing he's flipper-flopper about.

One of my biggest criticism of Palin is that she has done nothing I can see to clean up Labor management corruption in Alaska. Alaska has a cottage industry of thugs to help defraud anyone who has a valid labor complaint, and Art was an integral part of that collusive effort. There are genuine criminals that are yet to be taken in what the DOJ described as a wide cast net.

I think his activity is best described as a racket.

Mel March 26, 2009 12:29 AM

No personal attacks. Stick to criticisms of actions and behavior. We're the right, not the left.

narciso March 26, 2009 12:45 AM

Yep she's only tackled Big Oil, the Exxon branch of the GOP, the Kos/Huff Po/Wonkette wing of the democrats(the last I was reminded
of, because it was undated entry
as a source for Benet, back in 2007) I guess she could tackle the union, (oilworkers I figure) any day now,

John March 26, 2009 12:53 AM

I hope you aren't calling the passing of information above about Art Chance a 'personal attack.'

It pales in comparison of what he has done in his percieved job at State of Alaska, or in his posts at Redstate.

If someone asks for information I don't mind giving it to them. If the guy calls himself a 'right wing fascist,' so be it. Let him wear his own lable proudly. If he was a left-wing fringer twenty years ago then it also makes him 'flipper-flopper.'

No personal attack , just accurate information to be disseminated to ErichNTejas who asked for it.

John March 26, 2009 1:04 AM

I think there is a huge amount of nationwide support she would gain by putting a dozen union goons in the pokey.

There is no shortage of people who knows the ills of compulsory unionism across the whole nation, and with EFCA being pushed in Congress, the timing is somewhat critical for her to begin to do this job.

I think she has plenty to work with if she wanted, and the possibility of time in one of the the [out of ] state's correctional
facilities would certainly help the Federal Government get some plea deals.

Somehow in a state with Alaska's track record for corruption, there is some strange misconception that the Democrats and their unions aren't a part of it.

It's just that the R's were in office when the other shoe dropped, and if it would have happened during the Knowles Administration, Bill Allen would be testifying against them. It was corruption cake-walk in Alaska and the music stopped with Republicans in office.

Mel March 26, 2009 1:06 AM

John,
I was not.

For all commenters,
Just as a general note: Think about your comments here like you're commenting at Hot Air. The line's in about the same place here. We haven't had many problems (especially among the regulars), but the influx of trolls and mobies the last couple of days serves as a reminder of what we don't want to be.

John March 26, 2009 1:17 AM

Maybe suggesting the DIVA people's 'keep your chin' up to be the plural form might have been a little personal for Linda Beagle.

narciso March 26, 2009 1:38 AM

Close, actually Bill Allen, made a deal with the FBI, and he flipped to get Stevens indicted, and that gave you Begich, not a fair trade on any count. Much like Abramoff
even gave money to Obama, yet only the GOP was affected.

You know this election confirmed to me the idiocy of the primary system, spend six months in Iowa
pledging support for ethanol, or
signing crazy peacenik pledges
and you end up with the big prize; and look how well that turned out. I think Sarah would tackle it differently because she would talk about the importance of values and
the need for government restraint; I think that time will finally come, whereas the rest will play
their pandering games. Isn't odd
how the candidate of the heartland didn't bother with the marathon deal, of course that necessitated
they would try to destroy her with
'all deliberate speed' as soon as she emerged, yet she proved more popular than the running mate that was foisted on her.

John March 26, 2009 1:40 AM

Narciso-

I don't know about the oil fields but I don't doubt that state regulators whose advice could have prevented spills and shutdowns have been met with unfair reprisal.

AFSCME are the ones I am familiar with. Darn near that whole union violated conflict of interest laws in taking their jobs straight out of state employment. The Quid-Pro-Quo was they could violate the state ethics act as long as they did not do anything for workers with a grievance or who were victims or witnesses of workplace crime, just take the money they got paid and do nothing.

Do nothing, take money from workers and give it to Democratic campaigns. A win-win for the CBC politicians. The agreement is on paper, signed ,sealed , delivered. I think it's good makings for a conspiracy charge , if not a complete federal racketeering cleanup of the state.

I guarantee if Sarah fired all the leftover political appointees in the State and made the positions union instead of exempt, Alaska would have Right to Work the next Legislative session. The exempt employees know very well what a fraud the AFSCME is. They use it to their adcvantage.

The Southeast Democratic Chairperson (AFSCME Business Agent) should be in prison for mail fraud, not giving recommendations of who to replace Senator Kim Elton's vacant seat. Attempting to move herself into the House spot vacated by the recommendation should be pre-empted by an indictment .

John March 26, 2009 1:54 AM

Narciso-

I spent some time in the courts with these corruption matters, and probably have to go back soon.

There was a Bobrick/Knowles/Begich connection and a corruption story that was revoked from the ADN website. The ADN came up with an explaination for the story being yanked.

My instinct says either the Begich or Knowles people threatened suit, or the DOJ wanted it squelched so that it did not spoil their ongoing investigation.

One can only hope for the latter as it would be in Alaska's best interest.

narciso March 26, 2009 2:08 AM

And these people have the nerve to nickel and dime her, over 5,000 of declared income, or some silly amount about trips with her kids.
Even if only a quarter was true,
it should have been relevant in the Senate campaign no,

John March 26, 2009 3:47 AM

Well, $5,000 can be a lot of money if you need it. Jim Duncan probably started at well over $100k when he took his conflict of interest job with the AFSCME 52. That's a lot of money to do nothing, but it would perhaps better described as perpetrating fraud than doing nothing.

Here's links to his stipulation that resolved his conflict of interest. In short, it was take the job, receive the pay, but didn't do the job, all by contract.

Attorney General Letter

Jim Duncan Stipulation Page 1

Jim Duncan Stipulation Page 2

Jim Duncan Stipulation Page 3

Jim Duncan Stipulation Page 4

(Worth printing as this information has a history of strangely disappearing once posted.)

This agreement pretty much neutralized any contract, and if you were a victim or witness to crime in a state workplace you were also retaliated against for making a complaint. I was once confused by these guys, but now I have a good knowledge of how corruption schemes work.

AChance and Jim Duncan were two of a kind- power abusing goons. They probably coked up the scheme for management take over of the union while they worked in the Legislature, though had it pretty corrupted even before that.

Other than Management the Democratic Legislators benefitted because the AFSCME's campaign donations doubled during the same time period.

The agreement is much damning evidence of conspiracy and a good step towards envoking RICO prosecution . They used the mail plenty in the scheme.

On RS, Mr. Chance accused me of stealing this file claiming it was confidential, but if you read it it says public in several places. He has a truthfulness issue that apparently is congenital. The AAG who drafted the file also lied about it being confidential. It's just something that when I finally got it, I was pretty livid to find out why these people were ineffectual and that it was by a signed contract.

It has a few comments scrawled on it from before I got it. I whited out those on my copy for when it goes to the Federal Magistrate.

Not to get off subject,so I'm sure if Linda Beagle was at the DNC, she's rubbing elbows with all these crooked ADP characters. It's not a big state and the folks in charge of the Chairmanships of the Alaska Democrats are largely one family and a few scattered others.

(Oh yeah, the link on 'Jim Duncan' is a good story about him being ousted as Speaker of the House.)

sarah palin rocks March 26, 2009 3:49 AM

Glenn Beck and Megyn Kelly both get it. "They fear this woman!" Palin is still making headlines. She is still going strong and people are interested in what she says, whether they love or hate her.

These attempts to harm and bankrupt Sarah and her family have backfired royally. It is now a major news story and will help more people see that Sarah is truly being targeted. People will start putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Sarah will gain more supporters because of this.

John March 26, 2009 7:21 AM

ErichNTejas- or anyone else that posts at RS:

I just visited Redstate and I think I found the 'bankrupt palin family' thread you must be referring to, a similar subject of these ethics complaints.

I also see Mr. Chance is still over there flapping, and I finally see some people who are starting to see him for what he really is, a washed up narcicistic beaureaucrat, dumped by Murkowski and sore he can't buy his way in.

I would encourage anyone who posts at Redstate to put in their two cents worth for the Governor. It sounds like he is about to blow a head gasket already, so someone should help the poor guy out.

Ask him about Ak Attorney General ethics opinions numbers 663-05-0342 (management hiring sexual playhings) and 223-03-0342
( and his collusion with AFSCME Union bosses), and since he's talking about how he hated her before she ran for governor, you maybe could ask why he gave this campaign a donation in 2006. Maybe even ask more about his post state employment work with ACOA he describes which violated the ethics act.

Let's face it, AChance's harping isn't helping out at all. Besides that, it's good entertainment to see a pathological liar change their stories when called out, or better yet have a tantrum like a the emotional two year old he is!

John March 26, 2009 7:37 AM

And just one more thing.....

Ask Art Chance how it feels to know that he and his creepy ADP conspirators at the AFSCME are directly responsible for the Alaska Legislature being raided by the Department of Justice- Public Integrity Section!

From Ninth Cir. 05-35694 opening brief asking for investigations of Alaska Corruption filed 11/05:

****************************

[ ] characteristic of corruption After a week or so the Plaintiff sent articles of the retirement fund deficit which was at a projected $ 7 Billion, growing at a rate of $1.7 million a day for the first 1,000 days of the current Administration, and at approximately minus $700,000 per current employee This would seem to be criminal negligence.

These matters are somewhat the workings of the a flawed government and Union Labor Management, and hopefully there can be a Grand Jury convened to address corruption in the State of Alaska as it will make for a better environment for a student of Fishery to work in.

The Grand Jury investigation of the Kentucky Governor that is current was begun with a State employee whistleblower, and though the Plaintiff is not an attorney nor versed in Ripeness Doctrine and takings, there is surely some things to look Into with the State of Alaska’s officials and Unions, and ethics machinery.

Most recently the Senate President Ben Stevens has been petit1oned for recall, and has allegations of conflict of interest an several of his business dealings including Aleutian Spray Seafood / Adak fisheries Pollack allotments legislated by his father, and VECO, the Alaska Pipeline contractor which is wanting legislation that robs from the Permanent Fund , and several other questionable consulting relationships This is all available online, and the Plaintiff would ask that the Ninth Circuit reviews some of this material to be familiar with the Legislature’s ethics committee leader and his concept of ethics and what the Plaintiff has described as the "existence of a crisis” in Motion for a Preliminary Injunction and as at may apply to the case before the court. As the need for the injunction prevents the Plaintiff on his limited means to attach the copious amount of newspaper articles and Department of Law opinions relating to Ben Steven’s

Not sure if someone has posted this but Palin released this statement on Tuesday:

"Are Alaskans outraged, or at least tired of this yet - another frivolous ethics charge by a political blogger? This would be hilarious if it weren’t so expensive for the state to process these accusations and for me to defend against these bogus harassments. Yes, I wore Arctic Cat snow gear at an outdoor event, because it was cold outside, and by the way, today, I am wearing clothes bearing the names of Alaska artists, and a Glennallen Panthers basketball hoodie. I am a walking billboard for the team’s fundraiser! Should I expect to see an ethics charge for wearing these, or the Carhartts I wear to many public events? How much will this blogger's asinine political grandstanding cost all of us in time and money?"

Diana May 4, 2009 2:10 AM

Hello,

I would send this message to Sarah's Governor's Office email but there are so many people in Alaska in her own office that do not support her. I actually live in Wasilla, Alaska myself, and work in Anchorage, AK. On my way to work lately, I have seen signs put up that say "IMPEACH SARAH"; Are these people kidding me?

If you can get this message to her otherwise it would be greatly appreciated. I have tried to join all of her websites possible.

I believe God has a plan for Sarah in 2012. We need someone to move this country in a different direction than the one President Obama is taking us down. We need someone to move this country in the right direction.

I just saw on the news today that the detainees at Guantanamo will be set free will receive a plane ride back to Saudi Arabia in a luxury jet, given money, a car and a home and a wife. All they have to do is participate in their anti-terriorism classes and they are allowed to live a life of luxury. Obviously, Obama is behind this. These are the same people who plotted to kill millions of Americans.

There are so many people (and especially here in Alaska) who are so afraid of Sarah running for office in 2012 in Washington, D.C. They are so afraid of her stand on being Pro-Life and Christain. They are so aftraid of her wanting to clean up Washington. They keep trying to run up her legal bills by filing non-stop frivilous lawsuits against her, thinking this will sink her.

They don't realize she has God on her side.

Sarah, I pray everyday that you will lead this country to victory in 2012.

Please everyone join Sarah Palin in this fight to take our country back before it is too late. Pray for her and our country everyday.

Sincerely,

Diana
Wasilla, Alaska

McCoy June 25, 2009 10:41 AM

I visited the Blue Oasis site, and for a few minutes I thought I was at the Daily Kos. I had to take a moment to steel myself against attacks on truth. The writer has a way of making things sound so reasonable when they aren't. She tries to equate different situations at different times under different circumstances to bolster her claim of hypocrisy. She preaches against the Governor's asking of funds to fight frivolous lawsuits, while she begs for money to fund the bringing of those lawsuits. If you have half a brain [which most Liberals don't], you'd instantly recognize Democrat Party lines to attack and smear Sarah Palin because the party is so afraid of her. They are afraid of her Conservative, pro-life, minimal government stances. She'd be anathema to the Democrats. Such is modern day politics, a sorry commentary on the national scene---with visits to the States considered dangerous.

jcrue June 25, 2009 5:23 PM

I do not miss this her being what the typical Alaskan girl looks like. Alaska, where men are men and so are the women.
