Mark Dent at ADN Promoting "Trig Truth" Blog
Back in January, when the Anchorage Daily News was smacked down by Governor Palin for lending credence to wacky Trig Palin conspiracy theories, ADN executive editor Pat Dougherty told the Governor that his paper had "no further interest" in the story.
Apparently Mark Dent at the ADN, who puts together the paper's "Alaska Newsreader", didn't get the memo. Dent's schtick is searching for deranged nutroots blogs that criticize Palin, consolidating the links into handy lists, and blasting those links out to Palin detractors. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen the Newsreader link to a pro-Palin blog.
However, Dent has outdone himself today. In today's version (cached copy here), Dent includes a roundup of leftwing vitriol over Palin's mild comment regarding Obama stooge/Tasergate hit man Kim Elton's patronage appointment to Washington. In the process, he provides a link to the toxic blog "Palingates". That blog, run by someone who lives in France of all places, is known for such things as rampant promotion of Trig Truth and giving out the Governor's home address in Wasilla - while encouraging people to send her hate mail.
Don't forget the MSM meme that Governor Palin is supposedly "misstating facts" when she complains about this Truther nonsense. When the ADN, a "respectable" news organization, links to nutroot conspiracy blogs, Palin is right to criticize. Can you imagine the ADN or any other respectable news organization linking to a crazy Obama birth certificate truther blog -- even if the link is to a post that does not specifically have to do with the birth certificate nonsense? Of course not.
I encourage anyone interested to write Mark Dent and his editor, Pat Dougherty, to complain about this nonsense.

I was disappointed when Palin did not go to CPAC. But then, Palin is a lot smarter than I am. Apparently, apart from Rush, CPAC was dominated by Republican elites, seeing the young enthusiastic attendees as vote fodder for 2010. They would have done everything in their means to demean Palin.
Did you see how she was almost physically brushed aside by the Republican Governors earlier this year when she was at the microphone answering questions? The Republican elite is EMBARRASSED by Palin.
So, Sarah didn't come because it would not have been to her advantage to come. Sarah Palin is an EXCELLENT politician!!
aw mccain said he respects palin :) on Cavuto...oh and she speaks for a lot of Reps :)
Lorna, was it in a sympathetic tone or can you sense some dishonesty there when McCain said this?
I am very apprehensive to the man since he did not denounce Wallace and some of the lame members of his campaign. His daughter is not much either.
Had she gone, she would have sucked all the attention out of the place. EVERYONE would have wanted to speak to her, interview her, etc.
I am convinced that had she gone and been speaking, there would have been a lot more supporters of hers there. That's why the Romney/Jindal numbers in that poll were skewed (I don't even count Ron Paul). I'm glad there were a lot of young conservatives there, but they are really elitist NEers I'm sure. Sarah's base young and old is throughout the entire nation.
She is still the rock star of the party even though she is laying low right now. The media would have you believe otherwise w/ their pandering to Jindal, etc lately, but as soon as Sarah re-emerges after this legislative session, it's going to be a fire storm. A big barometer will be when they release the 1Q PAC numbers. I have a feeling they are going to be huge. I have donated to SarahPAC 3 times and plan to donate some more.
Mccain said republicans have many voices including Jindal, Pawlenty, and Palin, and he said it in that order.
If the Repubs want to win back a lot of seats in districts in which they had no business losing in the first place, they will send out Sarah to campaign for said candidates. There is NO ONE, short of Ronald Reagan's ghost, in the Republican Party who can draw the crowds as she can. If they leave her in Alaska and ignore her in 2010, they do so at their own peril. She is the Bono/Jonas Brothers of the party. I'm sure that even Rush would admit to that. (o:
Gov. Palin is the only person whose non-attendance at any event gets more attention than those who attended. The idea that the GOP elite can ignore, and marginalize her is an illusion. I know it's not exactly a scientific study or anything, but the comic book featuring her has sold out despite an increased press run, and they are now reprinting it, and it hasn't even been released yet. We don't know if this is favorable or unfavorable, and neither do those who have already ordered it, all anyone knows for sure is that it is about Palin, therefore it is a major seller.
I'm still waiting to receive my copy of the Ziegler video, hopefully it will arrive this week.
