Obama's Gift to Our Greatest Ally: 25 DVDs
President Obama reaffirmed our strong relationship with the United Kingdom by offering a gift to U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The official gift from the American people to the motherland was a set of movies. That's right, President Obama offered a set of films to Gordon Brown that could have easily been purchased on Amazon. This comes with the news that President Obama returned a bust of Winston Churchill that was given to former President Bush by Prime Minister Tony Blair after the 9/11 attacks.
For his part, Mr. Brown seemed to understand the importance of the occasion:
However, the London Evening Standard reported, the prime minister received the collection of DVDs as his gift.
It is not known which DVDs were included, but one is thought to be the Dreamworks film Toy Story.
One reason for the secrecy might be that the gift seems markedly less generous and thoughtful than the presents taken to Washington by the Prime Minister.
Mr Brown's gifts included an ornamental desk pen holder made from the oak timbers of Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President.
Mr Obama was so delighted he has already put it in pride of place in the Oval Office on the Resolute desk which was carved from timbers of Gannet's sister ship, HMS Resolute.
Another treasure given to the U.S. President was the framed commission for HMS Resolute, a vessel that came to symbolise Anglo-US peace when it was saved from ice packs by Americans and given to Queen Victoria.
Finally, Mr Brown gave a first edition set of the seven-volume classic biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert.

Gordon injected himself into the debate during the Lehmanns crisis and is responsible for the nationalization of banks at gunpoint. He is George Soros's lackey.
I am glad he's been snubbed. I am actually gobsmacked that Obama got this right.
Funny news haha Brown and his Labour party are going to fall to a landslide defeat in the next election.

Cameron is worse than Gordon. He's like Florida's Charlie Crist, only much worse. He's on record saying that UK-US relationship won't be "slavish" (oops, he better not get near the Obamas), that it's not mainstay of the UK policy yadda yadda yadda. It's kinda odd to see UK reporters getting peeved that US downplay the Specious Relationship; after all their PM and the Opposition Leader have been doing nothing but.
Well, it doesn't reflect well on either the Odummy or the Brits. Win-win for both of us.

Over at Eric's other home, Libertarian Republican, they have a couple posts of how hangdog and blase Marines appear when sitting before Odummy.
In the comment section, someone posted a video of W to a nasty response about why the Marines looked unhappy (because The One was continuing w/the same war policies). No contest. The vid shows W's 12/08 trip to Afghanistan in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, with Marines, Navy and Air Force on hand to greet him. Compared to Odummy's military addresses, those poor guys look like they're at a wake.
Being the consumate Chicago pol Pres. Obama can sniff the perfume of political doom from 100 yds....he's doing a Blago on Brown and thrown him under the bus because he knows the Labour Govt will tank in next years election - however to return Churchill is an insult. Either he is pig ignorant about the symbolism of WSC to us here in the UK or else he couldn't care less which means prefers to swing towards the EU....either way it is bad news.
As for Cameron - just give the guy a break. We Conservatives have been out of power since 1997 partly because we spent most of our effort in fighting between ourselves but mainly because we lost the people's trust through our own arrogance - after 18 years of govt we assumed it was our natural right and also underestimated our political enemies...Cameron has gradually rebuilt the party from scratch. Also please remember one thing - just as in America our elections are decided on domestic issues. One reason why Cameron made those statements about the US was because of Blair's closeness to W - a cynical ploy? Of course but don't take it as an indicator that in power he would downgrade the link and sometimes every politician in his or her right senses dips into Machiavelli.....
I think Duh1 dissed Brown because Odummy wants to head up The New World Order and ain't playin' second fiddle to no one.

Isn't it obvious why Brown gave Obama volumes on Winston Churchhill? I consider it a nice subtle slap in Obama's stupid stupid face for returning the Churchhill statue.
