Oops, did I say Sarah Palin? I meant Michelle Obama.
Here it was just yesterday I said I was done with Hot Air. But I got a tip on a piece of hypocrisy that was just too good to pass up. In a thread about Michelle Obama where people were getting snarky about the World's Most Beautiful and Glamorous Woman, Allahpundit had this to say:

Hmmm, so insults toward Michelle Obama are ban-worthy, but all the "trailer trash" and "Caribou Barbie" stuff is OK? Just within the last day, here's Allahpundit sniggering at juvenile jokes about Palin. He also falsely claims that the person making fellatio jokes about Palin was banned.
Nope, Allah - they're still there making comments.
UPDATE by RAM: "Trailer trash" and "Caribou Barbie" are the nicer troll comments. I've seen much worse over there, but I've never actually reported them. That has to change. I keep wondering why Michelle Malkin allows stuff like that. But perhaps she is unaware. She's a busy woman. We can't assume that she monitors the threads at Hot Air. We need to track specific comments and inform her of them. When you see something especially offensive. Let us know and let Michelle and Ed know.

We Sarah fans need to speak up about this to Hot Air. Ramrocks made a great point about letting Michelle Malkin know how we feel to. I don't believe in censorship but fair is fair.
Michelle Obama gets blasted at the PUMA sites (with the same put downs e.g, klingon, wookiee, etc.) and PUMAs are Dems so this makes no sense on the part of HA. I know because I used to be a PUMA. Laura Bush, Nancy Reagan, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and other Conservative women are constantly attacked and ridiculed at Liberal/Progressive sites. Is Hot Air on our side or not?
Maybe this is part of that Conservative stockholm syndrome where they attack each other ferociously but bend waaay over backwards for the Left Wing and MSM. This is why Conservatives are losing elections to the MSM and the Democrats lately.

I don't know if you guys heard Levin's show yesterday but a woman called talking about how annoyed she is about the MSM's attention to Michelle's arms. She eventually said that it is a result of diverting attention away from her stomach and hips! LOL!! Mark was laughing about it too. Hey it's true!
I remember when Sarah Palin criticized anonymous bloggers, and the media who rely on them for news. I thought "I know anonymous bloggers, and newspaper types, and they may get a tip from bloggers, but they take time to check their sources. Sarah is way off."
My mistake. Its worse than that.

And you might expect to get a NeWS piece on the question.
Instead you get a link to the Alaska Dispatch discussing the question - do I smell something unethical? - in an anonymous COMMENT to a story in the Anchorage press about blogging and anonymity!

As I said earlier How dare she condemn the lefts misogyny, lies and smears on her personal site, when she allows wholesale trafficking of it on her commercial site. The fact that she allows a dozen trolls to control that site and spew filth about Gov. Palin, ad nauseum, with no moderation, says it all. Do you really believe Ed and AP would permit that garbage and risk their jobs without her knowledge? They prop-up and promulgate every Gov. Palin hit-piece the MSM produces, yet can't spare the space for SOWELL, HANSEN, or even PAGLIA; who have all written lauditory pieces on her. NONE were posted. Instead we get those four beltway hags, FRUM, PARKER, NOONAN and DOWD who turn their Palin columns into their cauldrons. And remember the Governors 'turkey incident'? That was a weeks worth of political torture-porn for AP and his commentors. Hey Michelle, how about translating a little of your obsession with HuffPo commenters to your own blog? During the campaign, Malkin defended Palin a number of times as I recall. In fact, she appeared to like and respect Palin. So, my impression is that while Michelle might be the "boss," she probably does not pay attention to HA itself. She has her own website and does TV quite a lot. She never posts on HA. Maybe I'm naive, but I think she's a BINO (boss in name only).

OK, scratch my comment about "Sanford officially surrenders" and that comment about the "deadline." The White House cooked up something new today:
"White House officials confirmed for the first time Thursday that a 45-day deadline in the $787 billion stimulus bill, which Obama signed into law on Feb. 17, applies only to governors' initial requests for the money — and not to states' formal application for it."
So, there is no deadline tomorrow for 'Cuda. She has already submitted her certification for her initial requests but doesn't have to formally apply for everything. All that reporting about a Friday deadline was just noise.

I predicted this from his first round of grandstanding across every media outlet that would have him.
I hate to defend HA, but I think they have put up pieces by Paglia praising Palin, but I'm not willing to go check their archives.
So both Sanford and Palin now have another 75 days before they have to formally request the money from the allotted for state fiscal stabilization. These are the only funds on which their legislatures cannot go around them. Let the drama continue....is the White House purposely keeping this storyline going? They were singing a different tune about this dramatic deadline yesterday.
Tommy, I think they are playing chess with Palin. They are seeing what she's gonna do and trying to change the game by announcing a new rule every last minute to make sure she doesn't get the upper hand. While Sanford has gotten greater visibility, it's Palin they are playing with.

Yeah I was about to say, I did not care for that article at all. It's similar to any other MSM outlet on articles regarding Sarah. Especially quoting Political Science Professors who are about as irrelevant as they come.
Why wouldn't they use the full quotes? This is like ABC Gibson interview again chopping up her answers to make them fit the narrative.

I just read that article, and it is terrible. Palin is sending mixed messages on the stimulus money according to a political science professor?? What mixed messages?? Did this idiot listen to her press conference? Alaskans shocked? She said beforehand she probably wasn't going to take it all, and most seem glad she didn't. Senate democrats rejected her choice, but no explanation that the democrats screwed the process up by submitting only one name? McCain didn't endorse her 3 1/2 years away from the next election; uh, is he supposed to right now?? And after the riveting campaign he put together, she needs his endorsement?
Lord, this is why I despise the media. Half-truths, distortions, and no context. I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I'm running out of reasons why honest articles on Palin are so few and far between.
I was over at HotAir last night, and yes, I saw a pretty bad comment about Michelle O. I just shook my head wishin it were my site so I could zap their account. Allahpundit is correct, however that rule of his should apply to not only Michelle O. but to all other females in politics too.
I can get pretty vocal on issues there (I truly cannot stand unions for those that don't know it, and it shows), but that remark crossed the line. It was late (4:30am in Switzerland) so I let it go.
I get very upset when I see any woman attacked like that, even if it is Obama's wife. That shouldn't happen on an alledgedly conservative/libertarian site. Let DKOS brutalize women, not HA or C4P, etc.
The 1st Amendment DON'T cover that kinda talk in Sapwolf's world.

I'm done with Hot Air. The trolls have taken over and the beta male of all beta males--Allahpundit--has become the most insufferable blogger on the net. Again, I have no problem with debate and disagreement but the level of discourse over there has really deteriorated. Between Poptech's annoying "Palin Resume" spams and Allah's tedious comments, it's a chore just to get through a thread. It's a shame, too, because some of the comments over there are really very funny. It's just not worth the aggrevation anymore.

Unfortunately it does appear that Michelle Malkin has a hands off approach to HA. Just recently I sent an email to her about this issue and got no response and obviously nothing has changed regarding the troll behavior about Palin.

Are you trying to, perchance, create a ginned up media brouhaha?
Journalists are not supposed to create news, they're supposed to report it.
Neither are journalists supposed to impose their own reactions to an interviewee's responses.
Others have covered the other misrepresentations, etc., that appear in this so-called news report, which is really a position paper, meaning the reporter came up with a theme and then only typed up the quotes and bits of the stories that fit her theme.
Position papers are passed off as news reports by AP ALL THE TIME these days!
Sigh.
If Allah bans these trolls it will cost the site some traffic so don't hold your breath.
While this is a good step that is much appreciated, HA will have to forgive me for being a bit skeptical. It will take me some time before I trust this will continue consistently at HA. Consistency is key. I'll keep an eye out though.

I just discovered this blog, but have followed HA from the time of its inception (though I've never registered to post comments there). I, too, have been bothered by the recent out-of-control trolling activities by Poptech, Snarkvader, etc. Well, there's a brand new just-made comment about Palin:
