Governor Palin Now A Laughing Stock Amongst Beltway Republicans Says The London Daily Telegraph
Back home from our Cornish cottage I had buttered the toast and was about to reach for my breakfast cup of tea when I glanced at my copy of the London Daily Telegraph and came across a particularly well informed article about Governor Palin from the DT’s ace correspondent in the USA, the brilliantly perceptive Alex Spillius.
Sarah Palin's hopes for presidency damaged by family feuds
She ran for the White House as a champion of old-fashioned family values, but Sarah Palin's own troublesome brood is putting another bid for high office at risk.
While Barack Obama has taken to the international stage with aplomb, the defeated vice-presidential Republican candidate returned to govern the wilderness of Alaska and a host of tribulations, many of them involving Levi Johnston, the father of her first grandchild.
Not quite sure that the President’s entry onto the “international stage” has been that graceful though I must admit his bow to the King of Saudi Arabia was very courtly...
The Palin family has become embroiled in an unbecoming public feud with Mr Johnston after he claimed on a leading TV chat show that the governor was well aware that he and Bristol were having sex under the roof of her Wasilla home.
Alex, you are so right – but isn’t that old news? What have you been doing these last 2/3 weeks?
But the governor's family problems don't end there. The half-sister of her husband Todd was then arrested after police accused her of breaking into a home to steal money for the second time in a week. Reports said she took her four-year-old daughter along for the ride
Shocking – Palin can’t even control her husband’s half sister…so much for “family values”. Great detective work, Alex – and while you’re at it there’s that business of the half brother being refused entry to the UK after reportedly being accused of an attempted sex attack on a 13-year-old girl on his last visit...oh sorry, Alex...wrong politician. That was Obama’s half brother...move along, nothing to see here...
Even her stellar popularity in Alaska, has fallen, from 80 per cent last summer to 60 per cent now. Her "very negative" numbers have shot up from three per cent to 20 per cent within the last six months.
OMG – she is doomed. Her job approval ratings are now only at a level higher than President Obama's...nobody in Alaska wants this trailer trash rube any more. I knew that calculator would come in handy one day, Alex...
Mrs Palin has had trouble balancing her commitments to the state and her national ambition. Organisers who had invited her to speak at a major Republican fund-raising dinner in Washington had to find a replacement when she double-booked. "She couldn't get her act together, it was real amateur hour stuff and it caused a lot of bad feeling in the party," said a leading Republican consultant in the capital.
Hey, you C4P guys – how come you didn’t tell us about the double booking and now see what has happened – you’ve upset that key figure Mr Leading Republican Consultant, you know, the guy who helped organise such a brilliant campaign last year.
But, just a minute, Alex – if she is such a loser why would they want her to appear at a major fundraising event...mmmm...difficult one, that, isn’t it, Alex...
Aged just 45, Mrs Palin has time on her side and her ambition remains a bid for the Republican 2012 nomination and the presidency. A fund-raising committee has already been started her name to gear up for the Iowa caucuses, and it claims to have been overwhelmed by the response.
That does it for me, RAM – how come I have been left out of the loop? Not only have I been kept at arm’s length from the mysterious Mr X who funds C4P but it’s obvious that Alex Spillius is really in with Meghan and privy to the inner circle of the Governor’s strategic advisors since he knows the Little Alaskan General has decided to go for the White House in 2012 – now that’s what I call real journalism...
Though she may retain much of the conservative grassroots popularity that briefly raised her running mate John McCain's hopes of becoming president, within powerful Republican circles she is becoming something of a laughing stock.
OK Alex, I see now why you didn’t bother to say anything about the reception she got in Evansville, Indiana the other evening – they’re just dimwits from outside the Beltway but at DC dinner parties oh how they laugh...so, now it’s time to go Associated Press – look for a well respected neutral figure to test your own assumptions
"Where is she heading? She is going to get her own reality show, not the White House," said John Feehery, a Republican consultant. "There a lot of big challenges in this country and how can she handle them if she can barely handle her own family?"
And there we have it – those powerful Republican circles, none more influential than John Feehery. Mr Feehery was, of course, a staffer for former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who endorsed Mitt Romney last year. Though retired from politics he is still the Don Corleone of the GOP, a man who can make or break any aspiring politician with a mere flicker of his eyelid. Hastert also had no trouble handling his own family, especially his lobbyist son Joshua... Feehery’s connection with Hastert also makes him an expert on electioneering – just ask all those Republican candidates who disinvited Hastert from campaign appearances on their behalf in the 2006 election.
Yes, nobody better placed to give an opinion on Governor Palin than a Beltway lobbyist who blogs for CNN Politics and tells Republicans they can only beat Obama by liking him...
It’s not that I am really surprised by this overflowing dustbin of rubbish from Alex Spillius for today’s London Daily Telegraph. We had to put up with months of this misinformed “journalism” from him and his colleague Toby Harnden during the election campaign. The DT is, supposedly, a Conservative UK broadsheet but if I said David Brooks I think you’ll get the picture. It’s rather snooty, self important and pompous and, last August, it predictably greeted Governor Palin’s nomination with the heading “McCain chooses ex beauty queen as his running mate”, sustaining that characterisation from then on.
What puzzles me is why UK papers still keep paying hacks like Spillius for this sort of scribbling when, with a couple of flicks at my keyboard I can surf straight into American papers, watch US TV in real time and wander round a whole range of websites and blogs to keep abreast of the news. But then I realised that if I removed the DT title and the by line many Americans might well assume it to be taken from a US paper – indeed, in the time honoured tradition of hacks throughout the world some journalists could just as well have lifted it from The Hanksville Gazette, doing a bit of cut and paste before sending the copy to London.
It’s not just UK hacks that are too lazy (or too biased) to actually check their facts – I have long suspected it is a trait deeply embedded into the DNA of many journalists and, until the advent of the internet, there was no easy way of combating this slipshod conduct. But now it’s a different world and it’s not so easy for so called “professionals” to get away with it and, I must confess, payback feels good...

"Sarah Palin's hopes for presidency damaged by family feuds"
sexist
Thank you for posting this. I read the article and wanted to comment on it but there wasn't a comment section. This person is very ill-informed!!!
I gave up on the British media during the coverage of the 2008 election - and I myself am British! I still check out the Telegraph and Daily Mail for the headlines but other than that I rely on websites from the US. Much better :)
I wonder why they don't air out Obama's dirty laundry? He has so many half-siblings scattered around the world.
Great posting!! Keep up the good work!
This is the third hit piece on Palin today (three that I know about anyway). The other two are WaPo and Politico. I would think that the press would have moved on from covering a laughingstock, a has-been, a vapid rube who can't control her family. But they just can't seem to. I wonder why? (ok, I know the answer).
I have gone on the record that the Johnston family could prove to be Sarah's Achilles' heel. Nothing that has happened in the last 2 months has made me change my mind.
Having said that, I do not believe the Johnston family will be Sarah's undoing; they, in themselves, will not cause Sarah to lose the GOP nod in 2012 or the White House in 2012.
Instead what could cause Sarah the election would be not making inroads in suburbia among moderate and independents and not winning back conservatives who previously voted Republican. To do that Sarah must come across as a worthy, credible candidate and not a country bumpkin or a religious extremist.
Fortunately Sarah has 2-3 years to reconfigure her image with the help of media consultants. It will not be accomplished overnight, but I believe it can be done.
If a cretin like Bill Ayres can have the red carpet rolled out for him, a decent, accomplished and charismatic woman like Sarah Palin can accomplish the same.
Wow.
I am so dumb.
Why do I go to work and try hard every day to do a good job. I stay on my feet all day to get the job done right.
I am going to become a reporter. I can just sit and write whatever.
No headaches of checking facts, having to relie on a credible sources etc.
I can just make stuff up and cite an "unnamed insider" or whatever.
Even better, I can find someone who is biased and use them as a "source".
Wow, what an easy job.
I am resigning tomorrow.
Hmmm for someone whose political future is "doomed" they sure discuss her a lot don't they..gee I wonder why..now as far as Sarah not being in the Washington establishment all I can say is THANK GOD!!!!! Another reason why I love Sarah is because she is NOT one of them..the GOP is dead unfortunately..time to make up a new Conservative party..the GOP(Otherwise known as the Democrat-lite) will NEVER support Sarah Palin because she is NOT one of them, she speaks from the heart, she speaks sincerely, and she would NEVER kiss the ass of the establishment..oh yeah another thing, she would never shake the hands of a tyrant
I am so tired of the "how can she run the country if she can't run her own family?" crap. I seem to remember a recent President who had issues with his kids. One was an anti-war activist who opposed her father, publicly, at every oppotunity and ended up appearing in a Playboy photo spread, while another wanted to be a ballet dancer and ended up a liberal commentator on MSDNC for awhile, sponging off of his name. Who was that now? Oh, yeah...Ronald Reagan! That family sure destroyed his political career, didn't it? I wonder what snide comments Mr. Feehey would have about Reagan? JACKASS.
Techno you are always the very essence of perception - the Gov does have to make inroads to gain momentum for the WH if she so chooses but she does have the certainty of the base who seem to reflect the feelings of you C4P Americans who seem to support her for the person she is rather than someone who scores on a checklist. I am sure she could make inroads into the black Christian vote and the Hispanics who voted for GWB. Small scale forays into those sort of groups might well gain her the extra 3/4%she would need to start pushing Obama...
This most likely needs a response from Conservatives4Palin.

This John Feerery guy is clearly working a Republican running in 2012. My guess...Romney or Gingrich. Here is his website:
http://www.thefeeherygroup.com/
And his email:
john@thefeeherygroup.com
Perhaps he should be the recipient of some email.
Clang-Clang-Clang went the trolley...
Kaching-Kaching-Kaching went the coffers of SarahPac today...
Keep it up RINO's...
Aged P, you are back from the Cornish cottage, I guess. Welcome back and job well done. I wonder why the Telegraph won't support Gov.Palin more. Are they in tank for Romney? Its coverage is not distinguishable from Daily Kos.
That family meme is two weeks old anyway. No wonder newspapers are dying by the day.
HC,
I agree, Ruth Marcus has never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Her hit piece deserves a response.
My My..Palin is the only one that might be considering running for high office...But..wait...she can't do that her 17 year old daughter made a mistake..she won't be able to overcome this..right?? Ok..how did Hillary over come the fact that her 50+ year old husband had oral sex in the oval office with a 20+ year old.
Please...lets start reminding people of this. There is no comparison. Lots of 17 year old teenagers make mistakes, I made more then my share...but how do you excuse a 50 year old??? I would love for someone to explain this to me.
What irritates me the most is that it is the press that paints us into the pro-life corner, not understanding what the movement even means. They just do it to create polarization and fear.
juju,
Excellent point. But don't hold your breath waiting for an explanation. When that sort of thing happens to a liberal, it's out of bounds. Only matters when it's a conservative to the MSM.
juju....I made that point exactly on another blog. It's a great smackdown. ;-)
Laker Fan:
Right on with Sarah not shaking the hand of a tyrant. If by some off chance she ran into one at the, gulp, UN do not worry.....she is a Mom. I am sure she does not go ANYWHERE without Germ X.
Sox Fan: Agree with you. SO sick of the run her family angle.
What is wrong with her family? I would be worried if she didn't have issues or weirdos in her family. Goodness we ALL do. We can all name the crazy ones, ones in jail or arrested before, pregnant before marriage ect. They just don't get it that she is JUST LIKE US. That is why we support her.
My husband's first cousin was executed in our state, but that does not mean he can't "run his family". It is sick that they will not drop this issue on Palin, much less report about Obama's crazy family or Joe Biden's.
Why does Palin's famliy issues disqualify her from office but Obama's does not?
Here are today's Rasmussen numbers on Obama's net approval index (strongly approve vs strongly disapprove )
Net: 3% (33-30)
And Obama has sunk to an all time low in the general approval rate:
10% (55-45)
NB:45% is the highest % of disapproval that Rasmussen has polled since Obama became POTUS.
I predicted several weeks ago that Obama is heading back to his election numbers (52.9%) and the opposition is heading towards McCain's election numbers (45.7%).
juju you are soooo right.
how can Bill Clinton run a country if he can't control his sex drive?
DB, thanks for posting this idiot's e-mail address. I just sent him a love letter. I'll let you know if he sends back a response (written in crayon, no doubt).
I would be curious to know the financial condition of The London Daily Telegraph most are in deep dodo and using the Palins is their only low down circulation option left.
Who cares what they think!
Sorry Aged P
I forgot to mention Obama's approval ratings among Independents:
Approve: 46%
Disapprove: 53.5%
NB:If there is a sign of why Obama won the election 23.5% of Republicans approve of the job Obama is doing.
My question: Who are these people and why are they still Republicans?
SC,
I sent him one too. We'll see if he responds. Personally, I doubt it. My salutation was to "Mr. Feerery and the Republican you're working for".
This stuff makes me so mad I can't see straight...It makes no sense.
Bill Clinton could run the country while having sex in the oval office and his wife could later run for Pres. But, Sarah Palin can't run for President because her 17 year old daughter made a mistake and is taking total responsibility for it.
Bill Clinton just lied about his thing in the oval office. And assured us all that oral sex isn't adultery...I was glad to hear that bit of news
Thanks O' Aged One! I really needed a laugh and you provided it. Some enterprising news outlet would be very smart to provide you with a broader forum . But, only if it didn't take you away from here!
Isn't it the Daily Telegraph that ran the story about how the Secret Service was blaming Palin for increased threats against 0bama during the campaign? Of course the Secret Service never said that at all. It was just another lie by a media outlet in an attempt to drag 0bama across the finish line.
Techno,
Those 23% of Republicans that approve of Obama are the Liberal ones like Katleen Parker and David Brooks. They are from the Northeast. The big thing is that Obama is already -7.5 among indies in 100 days. That doesn't bode well.
John Feehery never says anything good about Gov. Palin. This is not that big of a deal.
Steele defends Palin.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/20/steele-theres-one-republican-party/
Tbone:
That is a bit comforting but 23% is still a hell of lot of people who are so stupid and behave like fifth columnists.
Aged P,
Really enjoyed reading your dismantling of Mr Alex Spillius.
As you pointed out, Of course he forgot to mention the
reception she got in Evansville, Indiana.
Who was that lady that electrified thousands?
It couldn't have been Govenor Sarah Palin, that would rouen the story!
For Mr Spillius, it must be nice not having to work
for a living.
OT- I think it would be wise for Gov. Palin to Blitz the local radio media, and Talk about what she plans to get done next session, and reflect on this past session.
The best thing she can do right now is be the moma hen, stay upbeat, and make Alaskans feel better about next session.
AK,
That sounds like good advice. Of course I also hopes she makes a few trips down here too!
Well, that didn't take long. Feehery sent back a response and it was, as I suspected, written in crayon. Basically...I supported her but she let me down... She's shown nothing since the campaign... has to show she can run something larger than AK...the usual crap. He took strong exception to my comparing Palin's family situation to Reagan's, saying Reagan was why he is a Republican. I told him to emulate Reagan if he loves him so much -- Reagan would never go after someone using their family.
SCFoxFan:
Of course he leaves out the fact that Sarah 'has been locked in cage' since the legislature has been session and that she would be committing ethics violations if she became partisan.
Funny how dear John leaves that glaring fact out of the conversation.
SCSoxFan,
Thanks for challenging him. How can she show she can run something larger than AK, while she is the governor of AK? He claims that she hasn't shown him anything since the campaign. Did you remind him that she's trying to prevent the growth of government inherent in the stimulus package? Or of her continued efforts toward energy independence? It's convenient for his argument to ignore her accomplishments and focus on things she has no control over.
I hate these obvious hit job articles and I hate that they get highlighted in a quite lenghty post here... Maybe I just don't get how all this works...
CCRWM,
They only get highlighted, so they can then be dismantled.
offtopic, but I was just at Gretawire, and it looks like she's having a whingzinger of a show tonight. Guests:
Rush, McCain (dad), and Lieberman
Zounds! Any Sarah talk, you suppose?
I bet no. If any, it'll be Rush.
SC,
He hasn't returned my email yet. I may have to send him another.
I read the Telegraph article this morning on the plane home from Venice. Unfortunately, there was no facility for online comment.
This article undelines the fact that most US reporting in Britain and Ireland, and Europe generally, is lifted from the US MSM. The American conservative movement and its promoters need to go global to counter this. It is so frustrating.
I hope sarah goes on BOR soon!
bill would be fair, and she would be on top of her game.
I think the repsonses by Aged P are great and deep down I guess it's necessary.
I know she is being attacked because she is such a threat. I hope her SarahPac numbers are good. Maybe that will make some Republicans to lay off of her. But this is tireing and if I'm feeling worn down and all I have to do is support her in prayer, volunteer when the time comes and with money...how does Sarah or Todd for that matter feel? I know we can't quit but I'm now praying not to hate these people.
Sure, let the Repub beltway establishment laugh all they want. Let them hand the nomination to Romney in 2012. Go ahead. Then after a 42-8 state drubbing in the general, they'll be begging Sarah to run for POTUS in 2016. Serve 'em right if she turned it down.
I, too, think Sarah should go on BOR. He has lots of viewers.
Only thing is sometimes he is bad about not letting the person he is interviewing talk, he likes the spotlight.
I would hope he would let Sarah speak without cutting her off to talk himself.
She should also set up ground rules prior. Limit the number of questions regarding her family's MSM treatment so that Bill will be forced to ask her questions where she can speak on foreign policy issues, health care, Iraq, stimulus, economy, her vision on how to change and fix things.
Way to go, SCFoxFan! What a dopey reply from that jerk. This is what she confronted on a state level when she ran for governor. The criticism is always the same: "Sit down, little missy. You don't know what you're doing. Let the big boys handle it."
SCSoxFan I applaud you so much for having the stomach to email that buffoon. He takes exception talking about Reagan's family, hmmm, Patti Davis made Ron and Nancy's life a living hell, posing in Playboy, saying horrible things about the family, yet he thinks it's more of a big deal that a 17 year old girl got Pregnant and had a child. Feehery wrote Rush Limbaugh a letter after the whole "I want him to fail" controversy came out, Feehery said that he liked Obama and wanted him to succeed so that shows you what kind of person Feehery is. Ask Feehery this important question, "Why would Sarah come to events to endorse members of the GOP when they never ONCE defended her?" Ask him, "Do you blame her for not wanting to endorse a bunch of RINOS like Arlen Spector who voted for a bailout that no one wanted?" Feehery is a liberal hack, and a moron at best..I am looking forward to the Conservative party being created. I am sick of the GOP
Bill O'Reilly is an egotistical, self-centered, hypocritical jerk. He also talks out of both sides of his mouth. One day he blasts those who file bogus ethics charges against Palin and claims he will donate to her defense fund. The next day he has a Politico hack on to declare her to be irrelevant. Of course, she would GAIN relevance and supporters if only she would appear on **THE FACTOR!!**
Palin should avoid him like the plague. Unfortunately, she will probably have to hold her nose and go on with the idiot at some point, if only to stop his carping. 2 million conservative viewers can't be ignored forever (as much as I wish they could).
Lakerfan, he basically objected to my even mentioning Palin in the same breath as Reagan. I don't mind criticism of my candidate based on performance, political skills, etc. Hell, I do it myself when I think it's warranted. Those are fair game and part of the political process. But, leave the family out of it. Its petty, snide, and unworthy.
After Palin's RTL speech things are moving.
For 6 months since the election, Palin has been the elephant in the Republican room. Many Republicans
were probably hoping Palin would just go away.
Why? Palin is a major threat to the status quo, personal political ambitions, and to some, the future direction of the party (think RINOs). It has nothing to do with electability.
The RTL speech has changed that. And the word on the street is that SarahPac is raking in the $$$s.
So now some are coming out of the woodwork. Has beens such as John Feehery and Newt Gingrich are
surrogates. They don't have much to lose criticizing Palin, but everyone knows they are the past, Palin is the future.
Does it matter? NO.
Palin has many challenges going forward, but with respect to the party, the only thing that will matter is her ability to raise funds. Once that is established, more and more Republicans will start to defend and support her.
But she will continue to be attacked by conservatives/republicans simply because she dominates the Republican stage: attacked by RINOs, by those seeking MSM endorsement, and for petty politicking.
Stuff about family, difficulties governing in Alaska, attacks both within the party and from democrats/MSM etc etc don't matter a hoot.
For example, the brouhaha about Levi/Bristol. Its trivial. Remember it didn't work during the election (that was their first line of attack then too), it won't make any difference going forward. But its directed by Democrats or whiteanting Republicans who know a major part of her appeal is her family (Palin knows this too)... in fact, Palin's family is a very attracive family. And many that support Palin in the general community are those that have family, the real people in America ... they will continue to support her very strongly, that is a large part of her grass roots appeal...and that particular strength is what detractors don't understand. In fact ALL attacks against Sarah just strengthen her base. She is bulletproof with her core constituency.
To me, its obvious that is the reason why her family is attacked. To weaken her with the middle (democrats, republicans and independents). But it won't work with her base, and maybe not with many in the middle either.
Also winning the middle can happen later, all this will pass over, even though it seems she is gaining in this area now too according to Rasmussen in jan or feb 2009.
In a general way, what Sarah needs to do to win both the Republican nomination is to show (once again) she is a fundraising juggernaut, develop a professional supporting organisation including personal aides, and learn more about national/international politics. This requires time ... the first will happen in July when SarahPac reports. The rest will follow after this - its a long road to 2012.
I think there is a concerted effort by some on right to selectively sensor any news about Gov. Palin. That is the only explanation why there are hardly news of her right to life speech in conservative sites like the corner and townhall.
militantfeather, I'm wondering if Michael Steele knows more than the rest of the GOP re: the Governor's fundraising ability. He praised her to the hilt in Indiana--far more than I've ever seen before. Made me go, "hmmm...."
The article is somewhat amusing, considering the praise lavished on her by the two Congressmen/Senators (I can't recall who was actually quoted) when the announcement was first made about her keynoting the Congressional fundraising dinner a month or so ago.
I saw that Obama Weak I mean NewsWeak, gave her a thumbs down on their convention wisdom, because Levi showed up on Tyra, Other sparkling insights that Robert Gates is some kind of strategic genius, and that Joe Scarbororough is exciting radio. Epic fail on all counts, doesn't even work as lining for bird cages, because they have standards. Let Bagel the marmot loose after them.
The Governor is such a rare public figure, encompassing that whole spectrum of critical issues, a seemingly iron will, but a kind manner. We see from this press conference, that she's lost a little bit of that open spirit, although it was in plain view in the Evansville speech. She really let her self be perfectly some would say too candid, showing her view of a world gone awry. The last is deceptive, for some people can't quite match that pleasant personality, with the person who broke the Major Oil Monopoly on the state, who sent public officials either to jail or purged them from their offices. The Russians, people born of an unforgiving climate, saw through that an named her the Akhanitsa, or
Huntress, not just an adjective, but a descriptive sign of respect. A generation ago, such a figure might have risen out of Southern California or maybe Texas, but we see in Schwartzenegger and Kay Bailey Hutchinson, that is not so true anymore. That frontier spirit that Rev. Harrison seems dead in most places, maybe Oklahoma except the last frontier in America. I that way and many others, she is the heir to Reagan, with a touch of Goldwater's independent spirit.
The real Goldwater girl, born in '64, the year of the great Alaska
quake.

======================
Could be Howlroll, but my sense is that the really big money started coming in after the RTL speech.
Contributions from attendees, and from groups some of those individuals represent across the nation.
It went down very well. Sarah spent some time getting that speech just right.
Up to now, SarhPAC has probably done extremely well, but the RTL dinner would have resulted in a huge injection.
Palin has superb political instinct, perhaps better then even Reagan and Clinton. In this case, doing this speech, is far more effective then CPAC or the Rep Congressional fundraiser, in terms of raising her own funds of course, but most importantly, progressing her own future.
Doing fund raisers for others is fine, and she gets brownie points, but I think she knows that they want to keep her in a box...."bring in the bacon honey, we'll do the rest". We her supporters are just realizing that, but Sarah probably knew several months ago, hence her actions since in terms of apperances.
I think some Republicans, maybe Newt and for different reasons Feehery, are getting their noses out of joint as they see she is running her own show and her own career as her first priority. RNC etc is secondary.
Hence some of the dummy spitting we have seen recently, starting with the Congressional Fundraising Dinner.

Yes, probably the case, especially NRO.
But, My guess is that many supporters or support groups don't want to show their support for Sarah in 2012 publicly.
Simply so they don't stir things up, encouraging attacks from others including in Alaska. If she looks too focussed on 2012, it could be detrimental to being re-elected as Gov in 2010.
Personally with the latter, I think they are wrong. But who knows, there is lots of time, and maybe that is how Sarah wants it.
Sarah has to make her mind up about Alaska at some point, but feeling I know her reasonably well now :), I think she will continue to juggle several balls at the same time...local and national aspirations.
We just need to trust her political instinct.

"militant feather: Yes, probably the case, especially NRO."
Actually, NRO DID report it. Jim Geraghty is pretty much on top of all things Palin. He reports under the 'Campaign' tab. He really liked the speech.
Let me see if I got this straight. Sarah is somehow responsible for her HUSBAND'S HALF-sister?
Was Bill Clinton responsible for Roger when he got nailed for drug dealing? In fact a good old FOB, Dan Lasater had to pay off a debt that Roger had to old Uncle Escobar or else he was going to be the recipient of a columbian necktie.
Obama's aunt is living in the USA illegally. His half brother is accused of some serious stuff.
And the media doesn't see the hypocrisy in attacking Palin over flimsier family relations than Clinton or Obama?
It's a plot. I say go after his media apparatus first and destroy them. Then strike at the heart.
I hate to say it's this simple guys but it's THIS SIMPLE:
1) MSM is rampantly and wildly liberal
2) MSM is wholeheartedly in the tank for Obama. If they could have sex with him, they would
3) The MSM and left as well as RINO'S trying to 'make friends' with the left hate her because she is unflagging in her values.
4) Her candidacy must be destroyed by a cretin like Soros and his funded media as she represents a real threat to open borders and the S-P movement.
5) In true Orwellian fashion, 2+2 =5 to the libs. No proof, rebuttal, or fact will ever sway a moonbat lib.

Nicely written articles, and like this observation ...
If "liberals ... can lie outright and get away with it, they will. And usually they do."
Looking forward to more articles.

I think there is a concerted effort by some on right to selectively sensor any news about Gov. Palin. That is the only explanation why there are hardly news of her right to life speech in conservative sites like the corner and townhall."
"militant feather: Yes, probably the case, especially NRO."
Actually, NRO DID report it. Jim Geraghty is pretty much on top of all things Palin. He reports under the 'Campaign' tab. He really liked the speech.

Yes Geraghty is okay, its all the rest of the bloggers/posters at that site.
Thanks Militant. I always appreciate comments about the blog. I'm new to this whole blogging thing and suffer from a significant amount of multiple personality disorder....type my own thoughts or type to an audience? Anyway, my daughter hit my power button on my computer before I finished this post, (sigh).
Keep fighting the good fight against these anti-Palin idiots. I've always felt that the level of vitriol and invective is WAY out of proportion to the amount of time she's spent on the national stage.
