UPDATED: Palin Legal Defense Fund Coming Soon

The Sarah Paling Blog reports that a Palin legal defense fund will be set up soon. They received the following message from a spokesperson for the governor:
A legal defense fund should be up and running soon so keep your eyes out. I don't have the details to reveal now.
The fund is a grassroots effort led by Alaskans, and many Alaskans and Americans have contacted us to inquire how they can assist. We cannot thank you enough!!
We'll keep a look out for it.

A moderator over at Team Sarah reports this reply from Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton:
Thank you so very much. We should have all the legal paperwork done this week in the establishment of a fund and hope to launch it Thursday. Please watch for any news this week (or early next at the latest) and please thank EVERYONE for their support. The Governor is overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown across America.
We urge CP4 readers to only donate to a fund that is officially established by Governor Palin or her team. Beware of non-official websites that use Governor Palin's likeness or claim to be the official legal defense fund. Once again, we urge our readers to only donate to Governor Plain's OFFICIAL legal defense fund.

It's really cool that the fund is a "grassroots effort led by Alaskans". It further confirms that actual voters in Alaska support their governor against these ridiculus "ethics" charges led by Obots and others from the looney left such as Celtic Diva, Andree McCleod, et. al. It's also great that those of us who don't hail from Alaska can contribute as well. As soon as we get the details, count me in. Bring it on!
Let me reiterate again what I have said in previous treads. First Governor Palin herself: It is not to win that matters to her opponents but to (a) bankupt her, and (b) place her and her family under unbrearable stress, and (c) if enough 'ethics charges are made there is always the chance that one will stick, or, those doing the evaluation will feel pressure to find her guilty of at least one to save face. (Remember the Conrad Black juror who admitted that there were so many charges against Black, that "some of them must be true". Goveror Palin is going to need enough money to fight endless appeals.
Second, they will go after anyone who acts on Governor palin's behalf. The fund must be sufficient to defend them as well.
The goal is obvious. By 2011, they want the media reporting that Governor Palin, "facing a mounting volume of ethics violation chrages . . ."

Check out the HA thread....it appears that AP may need to get a couple of e-mails to give him a reminder as to who's breaking the rules as to Sarah Palin if he's still abiding by the "you cannot trash Michelle Obama" schtick.
Emerson C... If what you say is true then we are in a world of hurt for what is becoming of this country. Unfortunately, it will be the half that wants to believe this against the half (us) who will fight this. I'm ready to donate as soon as this fund is set up.
Reminds me of when Glenn Beck had Megahn Kelly on to discuss the frivolous complaints and he stops, looks at the camera and states to the Hatefilled Left and Obama who are most assuredly watching, "do you think she is going to have problems raising money for a legal defense fund" obviously meaning NO!
I just went to Hot Air and it is truely sad what has happened to that site. It used to be that you coud go about two pages before the trolls and haters came on and baited the regular posters into a low class fight between the sides, now it happens starting with post one...

ADN Politics Blog has a new post up about Palin and the stimulus. Team Palin is denying the allegation that Linda made about Palin sending another letter to legislators accepting all the money.
Where's Linda's smoking gun if such a letter accepting all the money exists?

I'll donate $500 the first day such a fund is announced publicly, while continuing to donate regularly to SarahPAC. She may just have $500,000 in bills now, but to make sure she can fight all the mudslinging, she'll need at least $1 million, maybe even $2 million. We have to put Celtic Diva and the rest of the jerks on notice that their tactic of bankrupting her family isn't going to work.
Count me in. I will contribute as well. I got my check in hand and ready to go
Hopefully the legal fund will raise it's target amount quickly, so that it doesn't take money away from SarahPAC.

I am actually very glad that they are keeping in touch with the grassroots. That's absolutely essential.
I can't wait to help Sarah in this cause. We can't let those ghouls trash our political system this way by targeting officials.

I think Sarah will raise $500,000 in a very little amount of time.
If O'Reilly is true to his word, he should advertise it. There are enough loaded Palin supporters to have 500 of them give $1000.
I think that all these ethics charges will not hurt her politically. If she runs in 2012 and has a good team, they should easily be able to make it clear that it was all a sham. Gee, one filed under a soap oprea actress name? I think the independent voters and the Reagan Dem types Sarah needs to get on board will see that and be angry. The key is she needs a team that will fight and make that clear if the MSM decides to really push that as a way to hurt Sarah.
All the people drinking Kool-Aid are a lost cause anyway.
The important thing is that Sarah will not be bankrupt. She and her husband will have Trig to care for all his life, not just for 20 years. They really need to be able to pay these legal bills off. They have great responsibilities to Trig for an unlimited amount of time. Sarah believes that they were chosen by God to be given Trig. I know that God will provide for them to be able to care for him his entire life and not be bankrupt by false charges.

There are some who drank the kool-aid who are waking up with a major hangover these days. Conservatives and moderates who voted for Obama are starting to see he is a statist like Mark Levin says. I noticed Mark's "Liberty and Tyranny" is #1. So we may be able to convert some kool-aid drinkers yet!

No. 1 and 5. Why no 1? I honestly do not think they can help themselves. But there is method in their madness as well. They do believe that miLlions of people will think that "there no smoke without fire". Governor Palin does not just need a legal defense fund for herself and those who act for her. She needs an unrelenting publicity campaign aimed at "exposing the game" that the Chicago Boys are playing. We can play our part in this.

My donation is locked and loaded. When the fund is announced, I'll get graphics and post them on my blog. This is a high priority -- higher than even SarahPAC.
I have a good goal for us -- let's not stop at $500K. Let's get $1 million or more in there -- to cover any future ones.
I will also state for the record that if Governor Palin's enemies tried their nonsense in NY or NJ either of our governors would have used all types of state and gubernatorial powers to crush them like the bugs that they are -- and this applies equally to Democrats or Republicans. That kind of petty sniping at governors does not fly here. You want to see real "abuse of power"? Just try these frivolous ethics violations on a NY or NJ Governor and see what happens to you.

I am not a lawyer and I hope my question is not ignorant. Assuming Governor Palin raises a huge amount of money for her LDF and hires top notch legal talent, can she go after these morons filing these frivolous complaints? In other words, can she tie up ankle biters such as Diva and McCleod in court and, hopefully, bankrupt them? It's not like they will be able to inspire people to contribute to their legal defense. It would certainly be poetic justice to see these jokers broke and out on the street.
I think #1 unless Meghan is verrrrryyy careful about how she gets the word out.
I was surprised when Liz Wehl said that the good Gov cannot publicize the fund, I don't think even through SarahPac. I'm so gunshy about these anklebiters, I'm worried they might give grief over Meghan's emails to supporters about this.

All she would be doing is falling into the trap laid for her by Axelrod to occupy her time, energy and brain with extraneous concerns or events that detract from her mounting a serious challenge to Obama.

I didn't watch the video, but I do think he's right that this could hurt her image again, because people will buy into the Palin-is-a-Dimwit-Narrative.
My experience with liberals, or simply non-informed voters, has been: if I'm thoroughly and well-informed on the issues and current events, they won't argue the validity of it and they'll support my views. Basically, attack it while it's fresh.
