Ziegler to Attend Couric Award Ceremony
John Ziegler, the documentary filmmaker who chronicled the blatant media bias of the 2008 campaign, has a column out on Fox Forum discussing the April 15th ceremony in which Katie Couric will receive the "Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Journalism."
In the column, Ziegler does a brief recap of the circumstances of the interview, interspersed with clips of his discussion with Governor Palin.
It is obvious that Couric is being rewarded for the political result of her interview –the shooting down of a conservative superstar just in time to save the Obama campaign. It’s not about the “journalism” at all. But even that truth is not the most outrageous aspect of this absurdity. What’s even more absurd is that not only shouldn’t Couric be getting rewarded for her Palin interview, if we lived in a world where journalistic standards still mattered at all, she would have been roundly condemned for it.
But the best part is that Ziegler will be handing out copies of his film to those attending the ceremony:
USC and Walter Cronkite should be embarrassed by this award to Katie Couric. Of course, it is quite possible they just don’t know the facts of why that is so obviously the case. I hope to take care of that ignorance (although I can’t do anything about the corresponding liberal agenda) on the day of the awards ceremony. While I was not able to get a ticket, I plan to be at the event handing out copies of “Media Malpractice” to any of the attendees who want to know the facts.
I am sure I will be received warmly. After all, isn’t getting the facts what journalism is supposed to be all about?
UPDATE by RAM: If Zieg plans a Los Angeles protest event, I say the local ordinary barbarians ought to show up in force!

In a land far far away, and long long ago, maybe, but not now.
Ziegler's right, Couric is being rewarded for being a faithful foot soldier in the war to get 0bama elected. She's just like those other well known award winners, Tina Fey and Kim Elton.
In the not too far distant future, the last election will go down as probably the most disgraceful ever. The sad part about it is that 53 percent of voters fell for the fraud being foisted on them.
This will be interesting to see. Hopefully some video is shot at this event.
Which informerical personality does John Ziegler remind you of the most?
1)Ron Popeil
2)Kevin Trudeau
3)Joel Osteen
4)a husband happier he has more 'size'
5)Tony Roberts
After watching the Couric interview during the campaign, I said to myself, "Well, that wasn't a great interview. So what." Little did I know that it was going to be replayed over and over and then edited to make look as bad as possible. Then made into a skit on Saturday Night Live. People have bad interviews. People do poorly in meetings. People score badly on tests from time to time. Do I think a single interview incapsulates everything there is to know about a candidate? Hell no.
After a long day of campaigning, a less than stellar interview will happen. I give her credit for hanging in there and performing well at the debate, as well as at all her other appearances.
Even Camille Paglia, who is inifinitely brighter than Couric, said that Katie was one of the dumbest journalists she's ever known. I applaud Zeigler for doing this.
Anybody ,these days, who are trashing Governor Palin can get a reward or free air time.
If Palin was truly prepared to be vice-president, then she should have known how to answer those questions. I'm glad her ingnorance of the world was exposed before she got elected.
Go away Andrew...your comment says you did not see "Media Malpractice" if you had you would know that she did answer the question that were ask right...but after they were edited it made her answer sound like she didn't know what she was talking about...so please go back to the Huffpost and make you remarks
Good one Andrew. You mean the ignorance of Obama to cut missle defense right after North Korea launches theirs? Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Or about how Obama feels he can "talk" with the Europeans and apologize for America's mistakes even though it does virtually nothing.
Do you mean talking without pre-conditions to Iran? Or what about all the gaffes that Joe Biden made. There is not enough space on this screen to write that all out in detail. They're quite obvious. I frankly am sad that we have such a dumb vice-president who honestly knows NOTHING about the world. His lack of intelligence is astonishing.
@Andrew
Do you know how many gaffes Biden made during the election?
Do you know that Obama said the US had 57 states?
The difference is that if Governor Palin make a mistake it is enlarged by the MSM 1000x
When Obama or Biden make a mistake we barely hear of it.
You realize that John Ziegler can vouch for Levi... verifying that he did indeed live at the Palin's.
Palin can't answer the questions. That's why her press availability conferences have to include her commissioners.
Andrew--don't you know you can't say anything against Sarah on here, I wouldn't worry about Sarah anyway she's not going anywhere except back to Wasilla. She will be RICH but its back to Wasilla, maybe an Evangelist or a Fox talking head, spreading more hate to the Rushbos.
All uf OUzz Kan'z spek Austrian???
Andrew and Lady...Please explain if you believe Sarah is such a dope...why are of youboth coming here and posting.
Sounds to me like you must fear her because your type has to show up every where to bad mouth her. Guess what??? I love the way the media keeps her in the spot light..never has a loser of a campaign been so in the news. Keep it up we love it and isn't working...her polls still remain high. As they say "Bring It On"...don't spill your Kool Aid on your keyboard.
This lady is sad-- said...
"I'll just leave you to talk good things to each other. GOOD LUCK!"

¿Por qué?, ¿Por qué?, ¿Por qué?!?!?!
Go John Ziegler Go!
I love that guy. He is brave and gutsy! Just what we need. "Media Malpractice" needs to go viral.
All you Sarah haters sound so petty and small. You just complain no matter what Sarah does. Sarah is not perfect. Her star continues to rise so I can see why you are so bitter.
I have a big problem with a President who commits serious gaffes such as talking bad about our country overseas and insulting the families of WWII military who gave their lives to free Europe. :(
They are, they are often informed, only receiving whatever pap, they got from Katie,Charlie, & Tina, and of course the Huffington Post, Couric was a disgrace, I guess Nicole Wallace's loyalty to her
previous employer, overrode her obligation to her current client. As many have pointed out,Journalism
died last year
Not only is Couric being rewarded but the reward is also meant to be another slap at Sarah Palin. Media Malpractice is a great documentary and I'm sahring it with as many of my Dem friends as I can. This movie is a real eye opener and after watching it not too many sane and non hatefilled people can still bash Palin.
If Zieg plans a Los Angeles protest event, I say the local ordinary barbarians ought to show up in force!
As an Angeleno and an ordinary barbarian, I'll keep an eye out to see if Ziegler organizes anything. THis could be fun. :)
Cronkite and Katie deserve each other. Two traitors.
The thing is from Walter Cronkite to Dan Rather to Katie Couric, has been a marked decrease inintellect and professionalism. It appears the "Mean Girls/Heather effect, something more than mere liberal advocacy, but deep seated jealousy was at the heart of Katie's deception; It's been a long time
since anyone really called Katie,
'perky or charming' and Sarah is certainly the latter. Tina has a similar problem, there's no way a reasonable person can not see the contrast between the two; so she
basically had to neuter the governor's personality, looks, et al; to make her pantomime seem genuine.
Try to imagine a parallel universe Couric interview of Joe Biden, with either he being a Republican and she being herself, or perhaps she being a Republican partisan journalist and he being himself. I think it was Evan Thomas of Newsweek that once said: "Let's talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win. . . . They're going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic and there's going to be this glow about them . . . that's going to be worth maybe 15 points."
"Senator Biden, what made you think that it would have been a good idea for the United States to unilaterally freeze their nuclear weapons program back in the early 80s? Did you really think the Soviets wouldn't have taken dishonest advantage of that to tilt the balance of power toward themselves? Have they ever given any indication that they're capable of dealing in good faith? Weren't you a little naive back then, considering the astounding results President Reagan obtained using the opposite approach?"
"Why did you fight so hard against President Reagan's efforts to resist the onslaught of communism in Central America, and around the world for that matter? Was it a mistake to oppose his efforts to strengthen the military, given that today we're stretched in Iraq as it is?"
"Senator, why did you vote against our going into Iraq in 1991? Didn't we have exactly the kind of world consensus back then that you like to say George W. Bush lacked more recently? Did you think it would have been a good idea to let Saddam gain control of Kuwait's oil fields, thus encouraging him to perhaps move on to Saudi Arabia and elsewhere? Iran? Wouldn't it have been rather problematic to have him in charge of so much oil, and also left free to continue his nuclear program, which, thanks to the war, we learned was much further along than we thought?"
"Why did you then switch to being such a cheerleader for taking out Saddam during the last years of the Clinton administration? Would it be fair to suspect that partisanship has played a role in your foreign policy stances?"
"Shortly after 9/11, it was reported that you suggested sending 200 million dollars to Iran, supposedly as a message of goodwill. I'm not sure I understand your reasoning for this, and it was also reported that your staff thought it was a very strange, bizarre and even wrong-headed thing to do. Can you explain just what you were thinking, and just how this would support you supposedly being the kind of man to use good judgement in the face of challenging circumstances?"
"You voted for the last Iraq war, and you were quite vocal and adamant about the need for action. This seems to go against the partisanship argument, but then, when things were the most difficult for our troops, you became somewhat down on the whole mission. You argued against "surging" troop levels, and said it was a stupid strategy. Why is it do you think, given the ultimate apparent success of the strategy, that you were so wrong on this call?"
"Most recently, you put forth the notion of dividing Iraq up into thirds, I think it was. Iraqis universally dissed your idea, and many experts in this country thought it would be ill-advised and counterproductive. Can you explain your thinking on this?"
"Should American voters be starting to see a rather unflattering pattern emerging regarding your judgment on foreign policy?"
"It's hard to know for sure on this Senator Biden, but from what I've learned about Governor Palin, it seems to me she probably would have taken very different positions on many of these issues. I'm quite sure she wouldn't have approved of attempting to appease communists regarding a nuclear freeze and not actively opposing them around the globe, and that she would have recognized the need to kick Saddam out of Kuwait. What does this say for someone like yourself being a Congressman and Senator for so many years, as opposed to someone in the position of having executive responsibility, even for a relatively short time? Do you think that all that partisan bargaining and haggling is really the best preparation for someone seeking national executive office and the grave responsibilities accompanying that office?"
"Exactly what publications do you read way up there in Delaware? I think it might actually be a good idea for the people to know, just so they can consider avoiding them."
"Are you glad this interview is finally over?"
Yep Ziegler spoke for many of us who do not have a "national" voice in exposing the lies and deception of the MSM. That they award themselves for this trash is a reflection on how far they have sunk into the pit. I encourage everyone that has not seen "Media Malpractic" to check it out, it is powerful and well-done.
And now it would appear that in addition to having poor judgement and stealing others' words, VP Biden also makes things up out of thin air for the purpose of unjustly belittling former Presidents.
(Ya know, President Bush never once attempted to blame the former administration and/or the other party for its role in allowing Al-Qaeda to metastasize during its formative years in the 90's. And he wouldn't have had to make things up in order to do so.)
This is the guy who is supposedly so much "smarter" and "wiser" and more "down to Earth" and everything else -- than Sarah Palin?
In what universe?
