Celtic Diva Loses It and Compares Sarah Palin to a Nazi
Linda Kellen Biegel, better known as "Celtic Diva," has officially gone off the deep end. With frivolous ethics complaints being tossed out left and right, it seems that Celtic Diva is getting desperate and when people get desperate they refer to others as "nazis":
Sarah Palin, because she feels that the government of the State of Alaska is her own personal Nazi SS squad, decided to use the full force of the Department of Law to slap down a detractor.
Disgusting. I'm sure Diva is perfectly aware as to what the real SS did during the 1930s and World War II, which is why casually calling somebody a "nazi" is the highest and most disgusting form of slander or libel.
If Diva wasn't already ashamed of her miserable behavior, she should be now. She just conceded any intellectual high ground she thought she had.

All the frivolous ethics complaints are getting tossed one right after the other; I have no doubt that Linda's ethics complaint about Palin wearing her husband's jacket will be similarly chucked into the trash bin any day now. With no real arguments left, we get Hitler comparisons and Trig Truth out of the left-wing Alaskan bloggers. They must also be infuriated that their planned ethics complaint for Palin's book deal has been killed pre-emptively by a ruling from the state Department of Law.
I find it amusing that Linda, who has stated repeatedly that she's been online since the days of Bulletin Board Systems, has allowed herself to fall into a violation of Godwin's Law -- a longstanding online custom is that whoever goes for the Hitler comparison first in an online argument "loses". These left-wing Alaskan blogs are becoming more and more self-parodying every day.
To be honest, there are still a few people and groups left in the world that can legitimately be compared to the Nazis, but the Palin Administration isn't one of them. As a matter of fact, Governor Palin's oldest son is currently fighting the most evil of those groups.

I just can't imagine being that consumed with hate. And I can't imagine spending every waking moment thinking about and blogging about someone I hate. This woman needs another outlet. She needs a hobby that is much healthier. People like this just suck all of the life and energy out of a room and bring everyone else down. I suggest Ms. Biegel get outside and take a nice long, theraputic walk. Go down to the local animal shelter or nursing home and offer to donate her time. Something to make her feel good about herself and her fellow man.

In my observation, the folks who cry "Nazi" are usually people who have fascistic tendencies themselves--witness, for example, "Code Pink" and their chummy meeting with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (a man who would have them all executed on the spot if they were in his country). It's baffling if you assume that their reactions flow from their professed beliefs, because they cozy up to people who represent all that they claim to hate, but it happens again and again. I suspect that it's a form of projection, but I have no way of knowing for sure; it does seem to be rooted in a shared existential nihilism, though. It seems to be safe to say that the essential connections here are not rational, but sub-rational; the arguments advanced by such people, such as they may be, are truly just rationalizations for positions arrived at for other reasons.
Someone wrote on another blog (I can't remember if it was HotAir or Free Republic) that they hope that Sarah wears the Arctic Cat jacket on her book cover. LOL!

There is a very good possibility that Governor Palin is totally unaware of the take-down of the website. It is against the law to use the Seal of the Governor without permission, and to use it on a hate/porn site makes it worse.
The Department of Alaska Law is fully within its right to have the site taken down completely. Any good hosting ISP will honor the request from the legal eagles! Their TOU would prohibit such stuff.
But, more telling, the original site is now hosted by "sedoparking" which hosts, or 'parks' porn sites.
Freedom of speech only goes so far, folks.
Diva needs to have a good bleach enema then get on with getting on.

Diva posted about a hate site that was taken down by our legal eagles in Alaska. The domain name was (still is) crackhos.com. The page originally was titled "Bristol, your mom is a crackho!"
The site is no longer viewable and the domain name is 'parked'.
The person who created the site claims (according to the irish twit) she used 'frames' and didn't realize one redirect frame would contain (or show) the Seal of Alaska.

Our side has the truth, the law, and a public servant with more integrity and class than all of them put together, so there's no need to get down in the gutter with them. Just keep shining that on them and they wither away like Dracula at the sight of a cross at sunrise.

The lawyer said that what needed to be understood is the Alaska Law required that the governor turn in papers for their review on this to see if there was a conflict of interest...so she was following the laws of the State Of Alaska.

Someone might mention to Pee-Wee Ramras that the Law Department already read and approved of Governor Palin's book contract. The Gov's responsibility to travel Outside to promote the book would have certainly been in the contract. Harper Collins would not agree to a contract that didn't require her to promote the book. While it isn't outrage, its not approval either.
Also the Nazi SS squad was obvious hyperbole, not a 'Hitler' reference and not directed at Palin. It was directed at the DOL being used to settle a Very Distasteful personal matter.
The Nazi comparison is used as the most extreme political insult.
Like in the realm of psychological insults when you call someone deranged; (PDS) its about as extreme as you can go.
I prefer avoiding those extremes, but thats my personal preference.
What I'm getting at is if the admins want to up their appeal to new readers, you might want to not be so unsettled and strident when encountering excesses like that.
I've been studying both sides, and I think each is insensitive to their own excesses, and each a bit too sensitive to the excesses of the other.
Lip.. Ramras, if you haven't noticed is just being a complete 2 yr old. He is acting out, to get noticed. What is funny is this guy can't figure out that the internet is lethal... to everyone.
It will come around and bite him in the ankles.
Palin has nothing to worry about concerning Ramras. My Fairbanks friends are tired of him... seriously annoyed and irratated.

I think he is a sexist and he just cannot stand that Sarah Palin is the governor. That she is a really good governor and that people like her. I think it drives him nuts that he knows barring some big screw up by Palin, like having an affair or something, that she will win reelection if she decides to seek a second term.
I think it will send him over the edge, if she decides to run for POTUS, when she wins the nomination.
I think he will really be upset when she wins POTUS.
He can't stand all this about a woman being more powerful than him.
I bet he will actually have the nerve to ask for a job in DC when Palin wins in 2012.

They should have had posters of President Obama as the next Juan Peron.

I still say Obama is more comparable to Eva Peron than Juan... she was the one that captured the adoration of the masses, not Juan. She played the class division masterfully and she would be extremely proud of Obama if she were alive today.

I agree with you about the use of invective. It is employed with deliberate effect. However, Hitler and Nazi comparison take it too far and are insensitive to people who have actually suffered under totalitarian regimes. I once dressed down a commenter here who had the display name "AdolfStalin" because I found his flippant use of two of history's worst mass murderers offensive. I don't want to sound all Elie Wiesel about this, but the Nazis (and Stalin too) should not be invoked lightly.

Can't quite see how you arrive at those comments not being directed at Governor Palin, nor why you feel the need to act here as LKB's apologist.
Quite clearly, and this has been pointed out to you on many occasions, you fail to understand that this is a site at which Governor Palin is defended.
Perhaps you'd be better spreading your "excesses concern" back at The Mudflats. Rather than indulging in the fawning praise you meted out there a few days ago, go and address some of the very obvious issues which exist there with the nature of the comments your fellow commenters leave.
