'Cuda Tweet About Colbert Causes Media Twitter
What other governor causes a media buzz simply by tweeting that she is taping a "shout out" for our troops?
This morning Gov. Palin tweeted about a video segment she is taping which will appear on the Colbert Report next month when he broadcasts from the Persian Gulf. Her wording was slightly vague. Twitter limits you to 140 words, and instead of writing "It [meaning the video] will be on ‘Colbert Report’ next month," she wrote, "Will be on ‘Colbert Report’ next month."
The ordinary barbarians of C4P figured out right away what she meant (being experts at deciphering 'Cudaese), but the tweet got picked up by Ben Smith at Politico, and he immediately interpreted it to mean that the governor was going to be on the Colbert Report.
Thankfully this was clarified by the governor's spokesperson Sharon Leighow, who emailed Smith:
"The governor taped a shout out for troops for the Colbert Report to air next month. Steve Colbert will be in the Persian Gulf sometime next month doing some of his shows."
Erika Bolstad, the ADN's Washington correspondent, got clarification from Bill McAllister before posting about the 'Cuda's tweet:
Palin's spokesman Bill McAllister said she just taped the "shout out," and it is expected to air sometime in June. She will not actually appear live on the Comedy Central show...

By the way, speaking of 'Cuda tweets, let's just get this out of the way now before Mudzilla starts in with her Grammar Nazi routine: Yes, she had another typo in her tweet today:

I think that should have been "them" and not "there," assuming that the "w" stood for "with" (or perhaps the "w" is the typo). Bad 'Cuda. No soup for you!

I think she meant "there." The type is the accidental placement of "w" before "there" as it doesn't seem to make sense in the context of the tweet.
Glad to see Sarah's staffers got on top of this one before the Colbert show interview rumors got out of control! Talk about a rapid response!
She should go on the Colbert show in the future - that would be a must see interview for sure. Ratings winner.

This is exactly why there is no need for her to do extensive interviews, anything she says, emails or tweets is instantly zipped around the world within hours or even minutes. I'll be willing to bet that even 0bama emails, and tweets don't get as much attention.
The shout out to the troops she taped is just another indication of the closeness she feels to the military and to veterans.

The main problem with the tweet seems to be disclosing the location of the broadcast. Not sure why it was so secret, but some people are upset about that.

Will Andreee McLOUD file an ethics complaint for taping a message to the troops?

One of the signs that Sarah Palin would not be running for POTUS in 2012 is if Team Sarah disbanded or changed its name. And it would do so only after been given the word by Sarah that she is not running.
The longer Team Sarah remains operational the better odds I believe that Sarah will run for POTUS in 2012.

Never thought of that, but you're right. Gov. Palin knows all about TS since it started during the campaign, and she has thanked them for their efforts. I have a feeling that she knows all about C4P and just about every pro-Palin blog. If she doesn't check them out personally, someone in her family does, and keeps her up to speed on what is being written about her, and maybe even what is being said in the comments sections as well.
Sarah HAS been tweeting like crazy lately. I think she really likes it. Quick and easy to do and she knows a lot of people follow it. She can really use this to get out messages.
It also shows that she is always on the move, doing her job in AK. I have no idea where my gov. is, really I admit I care more about where AK gov is!
Go check out Politico,,,geezz,,,anything to make Sarah look bad. They left out the part that this is a taping. Also, I guess Colbert had said on his program that it was a secret where he was going and now Sarah has revealed his location.

As an Alaska resident, (and a twitter addict) I have to say that Gov Palin's tweets are the most informative and useful I see.
Sorry Politico Colbert does not have a security clearance so he himself cannot be privy to Secret info. You would think if Politico wanted to be respectable they would know these things.
