Governor Palin Selects Lynn Vincent to Collaborate on Book
Governor Palin has chosen WORLD Magazine Features Editor Lynn Vincent to collaborate with on her book:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has chosen a collaborator for her memoirs from among more than 30 applicants, including top names in the field. Palin, in consultation with superlawyer Robert Barnett, picked Lynn Vincent, the Christian conservative WORLD magazine’s features editor, and a bestselling nonfiction co-author from San Diego. Vincent will go to Alaska for long stretches to work on the book, including taping interviews with Palin, who has already written 20,000 words on her own. Vincent was the collaborator on “Same Kind of Different As Me,” which last week was on the NYT paperback nonfiction list for the 30th week. Her books have also attracted Hollywood interest.
Vincent, an abortion survivor, appreciated Governor Palin's personal testimony during her speech at the Evansville Right to Life dinner:
Banquet attendees said Palin’s confession made them love her more. She seemed very real, very human to them. As an abortion survivor myself, I think her speech also at least partially debunks a myth I think many pro-abortion people hold: That those of us who are pro-life just have no idea what it’s like to face a difficult pregnancy, one whose future is marred by the possibility of poverty, single- or teen-parenthood, or a child born with special needs. Not true at all and I’m glad Palin had the courage to say so — and also to walk her talk.

Awesome pic....
Guts and Grace as a title? I'm still sticking with Taking a Stand.
I have a feeling 'Cuda will get along quite well with Lynn. Uga, put up her bio. People will see what I mean..
yes tommy, Taking a Stand would be the BEST title
Wow! What a perfect pick by Sarah!
A match made in heaven! They seem to have so much in common like two sisters. They will get along so fabulously!
Sarah and Lynn have inspirational life stories. I am even more excited about Sarah's book now!
"Courage to be....Sarah"
I like that title!
JMHO!
Leaves the door open for more books.
"Sarah From Alaska" is my bet. Not in a Bill Bennett kinda "bet"! Just a figure of speech.
She could call it "Sarah" .
Sarah. That sums her up.
Just noticed on the sidebar that the ADN headline says that "Palin hires ghostwriter for memoirs". If we know who it is, it's not a ghostwriter; it's a collaborator!
Being up front about collaboration is great. That is what I call true transparency!
Does anyone know if Obama used a ghostwriter for his books?
My thoughts on her title is that it will be some reference to a Ronald Reagan quote or ideal.
I like the title just "Sarah".. Like said above that says it all. I also have heard this WORLD magazine is very good.. I'll have to check it out. Great choice by the Governor.
I can't wait for this book!
Another vote to just title the book "Sarah"
..Its a statement as much as a title..
As for Lynn Vincent:
She's attracted to inspirational and heroic figures...
Witness her role as collaborator on the 2008 novel:
"Never Surrender-A Soldier's Journey To The Cross-Roads Of Faith And Freedom" by Jerry Boykin
(See Amazon.com for the book reviews)
Just FYI, I googled 20,000 words, and that's equivalent to 80 pages double spaced. So, it seems she has quite a bit written already!
I just hope Lynn Vincent is ready for what's about to hit her. All the details of her life are about to be turned inside out and six ways to Sunday. She needs all our prayers!
I don't think she'll name her book "Sarah" since the Kaylene Johnson book has the same title.

"Sarah from Alaska" is taken already. That's the title of the forthcoming book by Walshe and Conroy.
My choice of title has always been "Under the Great North Star".
Steve,
You're probably correct. Lynn Vincent will be in the crosshairs if she isn't already.
Or perhaps "My Life Under the Great North Star".
I still like the title,
Forever I’m Gonna Be Sarah from Alaska
Quote from Sarah when she went back to Wasilla to vote.

If Sarah is taken then we got a clue from World Mag. Guts and Grace. Though I prefer Sarah from Alaska
Just noticed this bit in the same Politico column announcing the good gov's collaborator:
"DAVID AXELROD, roasting and toasting KATIE COURIC last night at a benefit where she received the 2009 Helen Thomas Award for Excellence in Journalism: “It takes great generosity to allow yourself to be made the center of attention for a good cause, especially for someone as camera shy as Katie. But Katie does it all the time to help not-for-profits — like CBS. … She was ‘America’s Sweetheart’ long before anyone ever heard of Barack Obama. … As we know, the transition from NBC to CBS was a little rough. She went from asking, ‘Where in the world is Matt Lauer?’ to ‘Where in the hell are my viewers?!’ … And so you bring in Sarah Palin. I must say, it worked a lot better for you, Katie, than it did for John McCain. … "
Classy. Glad he's now running the country. Sigh.
How anyone in American can still be under the impression that the media are not biased is beyond me ...
If she's an abortion survivor, she *might* get a little less harassment from the MSM... just due to the fact that someone that successful now that was nearly killed as a baby on purpose doesn't make a good case for pro-choicers.
She might present too much of a *gulp* positive testimony.
Whitney: it's generally accepted that Barack Obama wrote both his books, though there is one guy who has argued at length that Bill Ayers wrote Dreams from My Father. I actually think he has a pretty decent case.
Actually whether collaboration or just a second look, all authors at least have other people look over them. College professors who do nothing but write and teach have close colleagues look over their works.
There is pretty decent evidence that Obama had Bill Ayers collaborate the first book. It was better written than the second book that many believe he did by himself with little collaboration. They can trace it to Ayers because of writing style. The same as Sarah's book will have much of the same style as Lynn Vincent.
20000 words is a good many. Sarah has already done the hard work. How many copies do we think this book will sale?
Thanks for the info, Rob! I actually read The Audacity of Hope, but I wasn't sure if Obama was completely responsible for it.
Most who write books have collaborates Bill and Hillary did...
It should be noted the only people that sit down and write books by themselves are "well" writers. Everybody else has day jobs. If you get paid to write and have to get a collaborator you probably have problems but if you are running a State and just writing on the side a journal it makes sense.
20,000 words - take that all you Palin bashers - pretty darn good for someone you say can't write. And her statement about Obama yesterday - pretty darn good for someone whom you say reads nothing. The truth about Sarah is slowly emerging from under all the MSM trash talking, and it very, very impressive. Obama and his crew have their compass pointed in one direction everyday and it's north-west.
What is the going fee for a collaborate?
I wonder is she will be moving to Alaska
Beyond execellent choice of Lynne Vincent!! World Magazine is a member of the Associated Press and it is a wonderful publication. To get a taste you can go to worldmag.com
They advertised on Rush Limbaugh's show today giving Rush listeners a special deal. I think the website is getworldnow.com
"From A Servant's Heart"
My mom wrote a book last year (partial bio) with her busy as heck schedule, and she had 4 collaborators.
I helped, so trust me when I say that it's a lot of work!
YOu can bet that Gov. Palin's book will be one of the most scrutinized books of the modern era. Every one of her enemies, both right and left, will buy a copy, and pour over it word by word, examining every period and coma. Both Palin and Vincent know this, and for that reason, look for one of the most finely crafted books of the modern era.
Hey Greg, would all those comas be from the libs passing out from such an awesome read? ;)
Karen Allen,
Dropped an m there, but yes, the book may cause a lot of libs to blow gaskets, resulting in comas.
She picked the best person to collaborate with. Great choice. And I love the preemptive strike that she's already written 20,000 words on her own.
How about "Woman in the Arena."
I think she'll call it "My Story...Unfiltered," Or just "My Story" or "The Story of My Life Thus Far."
I thought you made a very appropriate and correct synopsis, Greg! That m needed to be dropped. HA!
Sarah Palin: Going Rogue, 400 pp; about a year in public office. 1.5 M first run. Senator Kennedy: True Compass, 1.5 M first run about 50 years in office: 532 pp. Guess who has a positive message based on actual events experienced by the author. Lynn Vincent co writer an abortion survivor?? Give me a break ladies.
