Shannyn Moore Cheapens Ceremony to Honor Fallen Troops

(Picture from KTUU)

Apparently, not even a somber ceremony to honor fallen soldiers is off limits to desperate people looking to attack Governor Palin.

In her latest hate-filled rant, Shannyn Moore has once again demonstrated that she is not bound by logic and common decency when it comes to discussing Governor Palin.

The Alaska Decoration of Honor ceremony was held on Saturday, May 23rd to honor Alaskan military members who were killed while performing their duty, and as the sitting governor and Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard, Governor Palin attended. Before the event she tweeted this:

Headed to Memorial weekend event honoring 177 AKn & AK-based soldiers killed in combat since statehood. God bless AKs military & families.

You might be wondering what Shannyn could find to criticize at such a solemn event, so let's begin:

Governor Palin insisted she be sat on stage and demanded time for a speech.

Could it be that the families of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice wanted to hear what their governor had to say? Is it possible that they wanted to shake her hand when they went on stage to receive the Alaska Decoration of Honor for the bravery of their lost ones? Not in Shannyn's world. In Shannyn's sad little world, Governor Palin bullied her way on stage in a fit of rage and selfishly consumed valuable time that could have gone to another world famous governor who fully supports the military. Even though she later admits it was "appropriate" for the governor to speak at such a ceremony, she adds this:

...but her high level maintenance made it difficult for those that planned it.

Yes, I'm sure that adding an extra chair on the stage was incredibly inconvenient for the planners. As if Shannyn's criticisms up to this point weren't absurd enough, she decided to be crude:

The most somber occasion I have attended, and the governor wore a mini skirt. Neat. Way to comfort the families of fallen soldiers; give them tickets to the "bare legs show." One side of the auditorium was waiting for the"Basic Instinct" shot, Alaska style.

What a disgusting and offensive comment to make about a governor, a mother of five, and a wife of twenty years. But Shannyn wasn't finished describing Governor Palin's attire yet:

She just looked cheap.

Shannyn, your price for embarrassing yourself with such drivel is a little face time on MSNBC, or perhaps a pat on the back from Arianna Huffington. Have you failed to notice that no one cares what you have to say unless it involves Governor Palin? When was the last time Keith Olbermann had you on to talk about your fascinating take on current affairs?

Also, if Shannyn Moore was so upset by the governor's attire, then why didn't she bring it up on her radio show on KBYR that very night? Perhaps she understands that this type of distasteful rhetoric wouldn't go over well in Alaska, so she peddles her filth in an environment where it's appreciated like the Huffington Post.

I don't have to document Governor Palin's staunch support of the troops, because she wears it on her sleeve. She can empathize with the families that have loved ones fighting overseas, because there's not a day that goes by that she doesn't pray for the safety of her own son, Track. So why is Shannyn cheapening the experience by reducing the memorial to perverted rhetoric?

If you missed the earlier discussion of this "legs-gate" scandal in our comment thread, check it out here. It was a vintage C4P discussion.

But that lady in the left of the photo is wearing a short skirt too, and it is red. Red is supposed to represent lust. Sarah looks kinda tame.

Nancy May 27, 2009 9:21 PM

Governor Palin you looked classy at all the Memorial Day events. You wear your clothes well, you look stylish and you are a great representatvie of the state you love.
Thank you for being such a supporter of our military and honoring the Alaskans that have everything for their country.
Thank you for raisiing your son to love this country and desire to give back to our great country. He is a credit to your and Todd's servant hearts. I will continue to pray for your precious son. I will continue to pray for strength and patience for you, as you keep giving your everything to lead your state with honesty, integrity and grace. You are someone who inspires me and gives me hope as I see all of your wonderful character traits and pray someday you bring these to the highest office in the land.
I have a feeling our wonderful military men and women will count it a privilege to call you their Commander in Chief.

Honoring Alaskans that have given everything for their country.

Tiny Dancer May 27, 2009 9:28 PM

A mini skirt? I think Ms. Moore needs to take a crash course in fashion. That is NOT a mini skirt. As for her assertion that Governor Palin demanded stage time at this ceremony, what are her sources? The voices in her head no doubt.

section9 May 27, 2009 9:30 PM

Jeez. I went over and actually read that blog of Moore's. What an obsessed and angry little woman.

Peggy Noonan once wrote something very revealing in What I Saw at the Revolution: "Beware the politically obsessed. They have no life."

It's a damn shame. Kos diaries are full of such people.

Susan W May 27, 2009 9:33 PM

You have got to be kidding me...that's the outfit, that is causing all the puritanical hysterics? She looks like she's dressed for church.

What on earth do they want Sarah to wear? A snowsuit? A Laura Ingalls prairie dress? Mummy wrappings?

Susan W,
They want her to wear a snowsuit but only if it doesn't have the words "Arctic Cat" on it.

LindaW May 27, 2009 9:45 PM

LOL! I was thinking the same - the lady on the left is wearing red and in a skirt too!! Palin is wearing BLACK and gray - more sober colors.

This attack on Palin is just disgusting. Shannyn Moore sounds like a jealous lady when she described Palin showing her legs.

Nat Hound May 27, 2009 9:46 PM

I'd put money that "Mae" is really Corpulent Diva.

I'm coming around to the idea that the left-wing losers should be strictly ignored. Should we really be engaging a bunch of weirdos that want to take pictures of the good governor's underpants? How demented is that?

LindaW May 27, 2009 9:49 PM

Maybe she didn't like her red shoes. I think Palin should wear the standard heels, like the ones she wore during the campaign. Those looks more classy. I would go to the mall looking for those glossy heels, but didn't feel like spending $50 on heels.

LindaW May 27, 2009 9:54 PM

Oh, she wore black heels, but in the pic she showed, Palin's skirt appears very short as she is sitting down, but in the pic on C4P, the length of her skirt looks about the same as the other lady's skirt.

Nat Hound May 27, 2009 9:57 PM

From Biggun's blog at about the time Mae was running her nonsense over here:

I don't know, but next time the conversation takes such a strange and inappropriate turn, I'd suggest that the powers that be "terminate with extreme prejudice..."

Have we ever seen all these looney tunes in the same place at the same time? Or is this just CD with different names, and in different forms. Maybe CD has some sort of cloaking device, or other worldly ability to take different personas and looks. I think all of them have the same deep, makes the hair stick up on the back of the neck voice though. Can't you just hear CD/Mae/Andree say, "Take your hands off my fries!" in that voice? Frightening.

Does CD/Mae/Andree live in a van down by the river?

narciso May 27, 2009 10:00 PM

Let us remember that this is the forum, that the GOP is choosing to try to communicate it's message, what's past 'epic fail'. Of course Shannyn didn't bother to show any actual proof of her allegation, because that conflicts with the
requirements of the 'narrative'. I've been following this game of
disinformation for nearly nine months now, so I was very skeptical
to begin with,

howIroll May 27, 2009 10:14 PM

Clearly Ms. Moore and Ms. Diva have not been shopping in, oh, the last year? I was at the mall tonight (unfortunately). I am barely 5'3" and couldn't locate even one skirt that didn't hit above my knee. In an interesting twist, I spotted the Guv's funky shoes (the ones from the IOGCC meeting) and let out a little squeal (it's been a long day). They are Naughty Monkey's--she must like that brand. I tried a pair on...they were pretty comfy but I don't do chunky heels. On sale for $59.90.

Enough of the fashion post.

She's always good for a few laughs.
(Sort of like 'Mae'/Celtic-Diva/Sybil)

Ghosts of Timothy Leary and The Merry Pranksters dance merrily around in Shannyn's brain...

One caller asked her why she didn't have more children (Ms. Moore's has a teen-age daughter)

Shannyn retorted snottily:"I'm not a breeder..."

ROTFL...Shannyn,You're a riot...

Moore's comments are so vile and petty that we need to expose them and show them as representative of Palin's enemies until the public gets the message. That goes for all the most disgusting remarks about Palin. When this is what we're up against we can't afford to be on the defensive any longer.

Alaska 'Progressives' like Shannyn Moore don't worry about NK tossing missiles at Alaska.

They think the missiles will be 'smart'-bombs and only nuke Conservatives.

In their churlishly myopic world,Gov. Palin's skirts, shoes and Arctic cat snow-suits are MUCH more threatening than NK nukes.

Plus they HATE the military, don't they?

Just sayin........it seems that girl Palin-haters are most of the time in one of those groups.

Story....we have a couple we know and we couldn't figure out why they HAAAAYYYYTED Gov. Palin since they are both very Conservative politically, etc. Well we found out later that the wife has had several abortions!!! We were shocked.

Exactly, they would rather think about sleazy remarks to make about a married mother of five than about national security. Let's not lose sight of that whenever we make our case, of the fact that they are the ones engaging in nasty and irrelevant gossip and we are the ones talking about our nation's future.

I saw the pic of the guv and I must say I AM offended.

Do these people think the guv. is stupid? I know the guv rides snowmachines and not bikes. But good grief...she has been on American Chopper. She has met Paul Sr. This woman KNOWS what proper biker chick clothes would look like. What she had on was respectful church clothes. I will not repeat my statements citing my creditials as an expert on biker chick clothing since I covered that on the "Mae Day" thread. However, I KNOW that the guv, if she wanted to dress like a biker chick, could do a much better job than looking like she is heading to Sunday Service.

Please, give my hero more credit than that. She looked nice and respectful. No biker chick or cheap look at all.

We know that Biegle was the official DNC blogger during the campaign, we know that Moore writes for the Huffington Post, we know that Biegle, Chatman, Tompkins, McLeod, Moore and the Hennings, meet, call, email, and coordinate their activities with the help of Jean Mudflats Devon. We also know that every time they file a complaint they appear on TV, and get written up in the ADN. It would be of great interest to follow the money trail. Someone has to be supporting them since even "activists" have to eat. My bet is that the money trail leads back to the DNC which launders the money through various channels using Axelrod and/or some George Soros funded front group such as moveon.org. They are essentially conspiring to defame Gov. Palin by abusing the ethics complaint system, and passing a large part of the cost onto the state of Alaska. Would make for a tremendous investigative journalism piece.

PEC May 28, 2009 8:28 AM

Greg - You can include the ADN in the people that needs investigated. Their hands are not clean. Obama could be promising them a bailout.

Nat Hound May 28, 2009 8:56 AM

Greg:

There is an interesting scene in the book "The Thumpin'" (about Rahm Emanuel's running of the 2006 mid-terms for the Dems) where he instructs Bill Burton to get some derrogatory information about an opposing candidate "to the bloggers" with "no fingerprints..."

There is no doubt in my mind that the activities of the Alaska progressive bloggers are coordinated at the highest levels. As indicated in the book, getting stories to the bloggers with "no fingerprints" is just another play out of their playbook.

Axelrod and Emanuel certainly don't control it on a post-by-post basis, but they certainly have a template and and overall theme they want them to follow...

Greg May 28, 2009 9:34 AM

Nat and PEC, I've heard about that book, The Thumpin', but haven't read it, but from what you've told me and from what I've read about it, what is being done to Gov. Palin sounds like a classic case.

My thought is that at least some of these people have some mental instability, just based on their increasingly strange statements and activities, i.e. photographing Gov. Palin's legs, only some sort of nut would do that, and admit it to the world that is what they did. The last time I saw Moore on TV she was sporting Palinesque type glasses, that's pretty creepy in itself, and add that to her leg photography. Apply enough heat to them, they'd crack like an egg or egg McMuffin in some cases. All anyone has to do is determine the weakest link in the chain, break that link (I've got a couple ideas who that is), and the whole thing unravels since it would set off a chain reaction. There must be some enterprising private investagator who wouldn't mind making a big name for him or herself by breaking one huge political scandal, who would work at a reduced rate, maybe a lawyer to do some pro-bono work, such as file a harrassing lawsuit against the weak link. Matter of fact, there are places on the internet where you can pay a not too outrageous sum to have a background check run on anyone, voter registration, DMV, employment, tax, property, civil and criminal records, the whole works. From the hysterical response some of them have had to Eddie Burke's calling them out on the air, it sounds as if some of them are getting scared, and maybe getting ready to bail on the project. I can imagine what their reaction might be if they found out a PI was poking around asking their neighbors, friends, about them. Make them really paranoid, have them looking over their shoulder, peeking out their windows, and suspecting every car that drives by their house, and every telephone call.

In my opinion this would be the biggest political scandal since Watergate, maybe even bigger than that since it is essentially nationwide, and it has to be orchastrated from the very top, probably extending all the way into the oval office.

hrh May 28, 2009 9:55 AM

Interesting that I'm reading a few posters calling for a P.I. I came to the same conclusion in the comments about the union that is now suing the good gov's administration.

Here's what I said down there ...

Greg, BINGO!

Evidence that this take-down of the good gov is coordinated.

Circumstantial, sure, but really, the legislative session ended on APRIL 19! It took them FIVE WEEKS to decide her administration tried to put the kabosh on their union demands?!

There is no doubt that they waited until the day of this personnel board hearing that dismissed more complaints.

It's also evidence (circumstantial) that this is being coordinated by the same crew (DNC/White House) who have proven themselves to be the MASTERS OF DISTRACTION and CONTROLLING NEWS CYCLES by TIMING THEIR EVENTS to get people talking about what they want.

Exhibit A, announcing Sotomayor when North Korea continues to test bombs and missiles. The WH has NO CLUE what to do about that and frankly, DOESN'T CARE. So they announce their SC choice and pat themselves on the back for again controlling the news cycle.

Same M.O. being used with their lackeys (and don't we know the unions are in the DNC/WH bag?) in Alaska ...

I think it's time, Megan, as you said on Eddie Burke to become the aggressor. Hire a P.I. to find the trail (emails, phone calls, $$) back to the DNC.

Sorry for the rant but I'm TO'd.

Shane Vander Hart May 28, 2009 10:19 AM

I didn't realize a skirt that is a couple of inches above the knees was now considered a mini-skirt.

Maybe that is an Alaska definition. That skirt would have been acceptable at the Christian school where I was the Dean of Students which had a pretty strict dress code.

She needs to get a life!

Patrick S. Adams May 28, 2009 12:42 PM

Shannyn Moore has an unhealthy obsession with Sarah Palin. Miserable people need to paint others as miserable people in order to validate their own twisted world views.

I'm glad to see C4P take a smack at her. That snipe has been doing no good for the image of Alaskans.

Where else would a loser go, but on Olbermann anyway?

juju May 28, 2009 2:22 PM

Didn't Sarah's attorney yesterday say something about the DNC being involved in all these ethics complaints when he was on the radio??

It is obvious that the libs would be much better off if they thought they could take Sarah down at this level then wait until the general primaries, etc.

That is one reason I believe if Sarah wants to run for the Pres. she will not run for relection and expose herself to all these problems.

Uffda May 28, 2009 2:58 PM

The bottom line is, these people are desperate. If you have to resort to the clothes people are wearing, then you are beyond pathetic. Obviously they have run out of material (no pun intended).

howIroll May 28, 2009 4:13 PM

I finally got over to Moore's site (what a waste of my time, to be honest) to look at the picture she was so concerned with. Sorry, folks, but something's not right. No skirt the length the Guv was wearing in the pic on C4P/KTUU looks like the one on Moore's site while sitting down. The legs are all off--looks totally photo-shopped to me. Anyone else?

MarvinM May 28, 2009 9:41 PM

Howlroll, have you ever sat down in a tight skirt, of any length? Yes, they can and will ride up. Quite more than you might think.

As for photoshopped legs, for starters, I don't see why anyone would take the time to do so.

But in any case, the photo seems perfectly normal to me, but for comparison I went to this site:

www.gov.state.ak.us/photos/fairbanksmemorialday02_may252009.jpg

and found this picture of the Gov. presumably undoctored.

She's short, but all her height is in her legs, particularly her shins/calves.

Remember too that the shin/calf portion of her leg, while sitting, will be elevated if she is wearing high-heeled shoes (can cause your knees to be higher than your lap), which Gov. Palin regularly does because she is short overall.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary between the two photos to suggest the one on Shannon's site was photoshopped.

howIroll May 29, 2009 1:20 AM

Marvin, you are correct. I saw the picture again on another site and changed my opinion immediately. It just looked odd the first time I saw the picture--the skirt, while standing, looks just above-the-knee. And yes, I've sat in many short, tight skirts, and you are correct that they can ride up (much to the wearer's surprise when she looks down..finally...oops). I've seen the Guv several times, and you are correct in that she's not tall, but I wouldn't say she's particularly short (she's taller than I) or that her legs are esp. long. They looked longer in the very high heels she was wearing, though. She looked well proportioned to me.

Greg,  December 14, 2009 1:19 AM

I see that someone scrutinized Governor Sarah Palin for wearing a mini skirt and doing it bare legged.  I have to be honest.  Yes, Sarah Palin began wearing mini skirts in public, and I knew that she would eventually start doing it bare legged.  Sarah Palin does have a pretty physique for a 45 year old woman.  Plus, for a woman that is mature like her, when she wears a mini skirt along with going bare legged, she is genuinely pretty.  Plus, if Sarah Palin wearing mini skirts and going bare legged is her only fault, I hope that is the only thing one finds about her.  Sarah Palin is a very competent politician, commander in chief, and governor.  She can get the job done, and her pretty long legs should not be the issue.  Sarah Palin, if you did wear the mini skirt and came out bare legged for a man to think you look pretty, yes, your mini skirts and bare legs really do look very pretty.  I would be honored if you became my commander in chief.  It would be about time to have a commander in chief with pretty long legs.

Greg,  December 14, 2009 1:29 AM

Next time, I believe that the classic stilleto pumps, with pointed toes (e.g., not peep toed), with approximately 5-inch heels, and bare-legs would look very pretty for Gov. Palin during presidential campaign.  Plus, the mini skirts are okay too.
