"After All Of This Spending, Where Are the Jobs?"
(H/T Hotair.com)
Boehner gave it his best shot yesterday in the closest thing the House has to a "filibuster":
Mark Levin interviewed Boehner after his "Cap and Trade" speech:
I would also like to take the time to apologize for voting for Frank LoBiondo in the 2008 election. LoBiondo was one of eight Republicans to vote in favor of the House version of the "Cap and Trade" bill.
Update:
Boehner: Climate change bill is a "pile of sh-t."
UPDATE by RAM: From the article in The Hill linked above:
[GOP Conference Chairman Rep. Mike] Pence encouraged GOP rank-and-file lawmakers to hold energy summits in their districts over the Independence Day recess. In the recess packets sent home with members, he even included directions on how to organize energy summits.
The goal of holding an energy forum is to “educate your constituents about the Democrats’ national energy tax legislation and let them know what 'all of the above' solution you support.”
"All of the above” solution is a reference to the Republicans' plan that would increase the use of and exploration for domestic energy supplies.
Hey, isn't there some lady who talks a lot about the need for establishing an "all of the above" approach to energy independence and developing our own domestic supply?
What's her name again? I think she was named after a fish or something.

Rep Reichert (R) Wa is not from my district. He voted FOR crap-and-trade. He is in the 8th and I am in the 4th Wa. Even so we have already been contacting folks in his district and the campaign is on to vote him out.
ADN had an article that shows ALaska is really avoiding the true pain of the recession. Two words GOV Palin.
Well I think it would be political suicide for some of the Dems especially midwest ones and even Baucas from Montana. Alaskans need to melt Begich phone on this. ANy Dems from OH, MI, PA, WV also need to vote against it.
Heh, when Waxman asked how many minutes Boehner used up during his speech I wished someone had yelled,
"Why, so you can tax him on it?"

ROTFLMAO!
Exactly.
It was great to see the House behaving a little like the UK Parliament. Lots of "hear, hears" and pounding and clapping.
But, don't worry, Cap and Trade is DEAD in the Senate...
at least according to Jim Inhofe
Al - I hope you are right. We need to hit those Dems in Industrial and agriculture States hard. Alaskans, hit Begich hard. He has buckled to Obama on everything else.
hi, what's the guv's stand n cap and trade? coz in the vp debate she said she supports capping carbon emission but in mike duke's show she sounds reluctant. thanks =)
moon,
she was toeing McCain's line because she had to. Same thing with amnesty. I can guarantee you she's against it.
Moon, I'd take any policy statement from the '08 election with a grain of salt. As VP you campaign for your Pres' policies. But the concern about Palin's position is MUCH appreciated.
thanks RINO & ND! hope she sticks with her own policies in '12 or '16 and forget about mccain's policies. thanks again =)
RAM,
Yes! I, too, loved how it resembled the UK Parliament. Thankfully, we have C-SPAN and YouTube to carry these snippets.
I'm not a huge Anglophile (no offense to Aged P--it's more I'm just a HUGE hillbilly Amurricin and I LOVE the way we do things) but I do like their sparring in Parliament. It's like verbal combat and I always get a kick out of it even if I don't follow what they're arguing about.
I most assuredly understand what THIS bill means for us, and I hope we have some guys and gals in the Senate with fire in their bellies to stop this collar around the nation's neck.
Check this out... from a tweet from Allahpundit:

I love Boehner... just wish the rest of the GOP males would have some ba**s like him sometimes.
Mark Kirk is considering running for the Senate in Illinois in 2010. He's officially not getting my vote for the primaries!
Boehner is okay, but don't trust any of them who have been there more than two years They are all a pack of snakes lying low in a nest.
I truly believe almost all of them need to go and we need to start over.
ALL the American people need to do to defeat Capn'Trade in the Senate is:
1) ALL of them attack three people, Begich, Collins, and Snowe.
2) Attack Dem senators from the midwest who know this is gonna hurt their states. Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, etc.
3) Push the GOP to then filibuster the heck out of it.
DONE, no CnT at all. If all GOP Senators can vote together against it and add Begich with the FB it can't be passed.
The Problem: The two leftist ladies in Maine.
Simple as a Kalyshnikov, and will be effective.
We need to push not ALL, but a smaller number so as not to weaken our attack and disperse it over too many senators.
Concede the RINOs in Maine. Go for the WV Dems (if Byrd has the mental capacity) with Begich, Baucas, PA and Ohio. Would go after the ones in Michigan but they are fixing to lose all manufacturing so it will not matter to them.
Canon I agree. Look I wish no harm to anybody but it would have better that if on 9/11 instead of hitting the WTC where innocent died it would have hit the Capital where they were all thieves.
Hey guys, I have video of Mark Levin talking to Mike Pence as the vote passed. You can hear the Dems cheer in the background.
http://hbhls.blogspot.com/2009/06/mark-levin-mike-pence-democrats-cheer.html
I also have the full Boehner and Canot interview up.
I'll definitely be contacting Begich. Does anyone know where Sen. Lisa Murkowski stands on it?
The outrageous disrespect shown by those who voted for this assault on their countrymen needs to flood the public consciousness. It's not just CnT, it's what the Tea Parties are all about.
The most ingenious suggestion I've seen about fighting back is for the American people to let China know that the US govt is going to default on its debt, and thus, have China close the purse and stop Obama.
One idea is to have Tea Party folks kick in a buck or two and have full-page ad buys in national and prominent newspapers telling the Chinese that the lawmakers are okaying all this -- the folks paying the bills aren't.
I think you'd see some shock and awe come to DC when and if this were to happen.
For good measure, I'd also like to see a few ads that say, "US electric bills will double with passage of the new climate change bill and US job losses are expected to hit two million, but Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Markey and Al Gore are set to make millions off their investments in carbon offset investments."
And the "D" would be prominently featured after their names!
