Bill Maher: "Letterman Will F*** Her Right There On Stage"
Astonishing. From Jimmy Arone at Big Hollywood, a roundup of Bill Maher's Real Time monologue from last Friday night:
In defending his friend, Maher thought Republicans had over reacted and this was just a case of ‘fake’ outrage. Much ado about nothing. He then went on talking about how Letterman had invited Sarah Palin and her young daughter, Willow, to appear as guests on his show but the Governor declined because she thought it would be wise to keep her daughter away from him. Said Maher, “…that’s right, he’s 62 years old, he’s gonna [f**k] her right there on stage…it would be very wise to keep her, very wise, yes. You know, I’d worry a little more about the 18-year old hockey players who knock up your daughters.” To which his audience of trained seals laughed and clapped and had a good old time.
Got HBO? Cancel it. And tell them why.
UPDATE: Mark Levin gave Maher a special award for his PDS earlier this year:

Oh no he didn't.
He did.
(sharpens sword)
Target acquired....
HBO is just the beginning.
Who sponsors the Maher show?
The ironic thing is, Letterman's own joke INVOLVED A-Rod's having sex with a Palin daughter right during a game, and was FILMED, then (in Letterman's "joke") shown to the ENTIRE AUDIENCE at a huge sports event!
The filming (in the "joke's" scenario) is SIMILAR to being "on stage," as Maher snottily quipped----see?
These guys are all sick.
They should be suspended----all of them.
CALL, write, blog, make your outrage known.
It's NOT politics; it's SANITY we're promoting here.
Sane, mature people do NOT make sick, twisted, sexual "jokes" about others, whether they are young women, children, or men.
PERIOD.
You know, I was ready to look past the Letterman joke. It was wrong and he got what he deserved for it, but I thought it was a little dragged out. I thought the best thing that would come out of it was the exposure of the double-standard in the media against conservative public figures and their families. This would draw a line. Finally, comments like Letterman's would be considered unacceptable - regardless of who they are made about.
I was wrong. What Bill Maher said was vulgar and disgusting. Careers have ended on saying a lot less. The double-standard lives.
I am canceling HBO.
Statement from Palin noted on FOX:
Palin issued a statement after the broadcast early Tuesday, saying she accepted the late night host's apology.
"Of course it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve," she said.
"Letterman certainly has the right to 'joke' about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction," Palin said. "This is all thanks to our U.S. Military women and men putting their lives on the line for us to secure America's Right to Free Speech - in this case, may that right be used to promote equality and respect."

He is, in part, covering by drawing fire from Letterman and establishing that "everybody does it."
I suggest keeping the laser focus on "Fire David Letterman" by hitting where it hurts - the sponsors. I am doing some sponsor contact, and will continue until he is off the air. Years if necessary.
Maher can be dealt with by "cancel HBO" - another clear message.
I do not subscribe to HBO so I will call cable companies to tell them that I will not subscribe to HBO while Maher if on HBO.
Whenever I get a cable mailing I can call and ask if HBO carries Maher and tell them I won't even consider subscribing while he is on.
I may even call cable companies where I don't live and let them know that I won't subscribe to HBO.
When I travel I can tell the motel that I want them to cancel HBO.
Fire David Letterman. Cancel HBO.
It works for me.

Nice statement, Gov.
Hey, Maher! Maybe it wasn't Willow who needed to be protected from Letterman; maybe it was Letterman who needed to be protected from Willow.
And maybe you better shut your trap before a certain ticked off 14 year-old smashes your face in (on the plus side, a good punch would probably do your face alot of good).
And maybe someday a full-grown Tripp will have a word or two to share with you. Think about that the next time you open your dirty mouth.
Libs dump all over Bristol because it's their one chance to act all self-righteous.
It says alot when you get your kicks out of tearing down teenage girls.
But how will I survive without my Big Love reruns?
Mwhaha, just kidding. Once they canceled The Wire, HBO became worthless.
Bill Maher's career goes further down the rabbit hole...
Letterman just found out and is banging his head against the wall:
"Maher, you idiot! I just made peace with the Barracuda, don't sic her on me again!"
Oh, the gloves are off now.
But still, not totally wasting my energy on these creeps.

This is very good. Long and good.
I just watched Bill Maher and he went waaay over the line. He is a major misogynist and was piling on the Palins. He seemed to be trying to top Letterman. The sad part is the people in the audience who laugh at these sick attacks.
We'll have to add Bill Maher to our list of misogynist haters who need to be brought to task. This is something women and men of all political stripes can get behind. We need to rise up and speak out. Hurt them financially - that's where it counts with these losers.
To think I used to enjoy watching Letterman and Maher. Wonder what Jimmy Kimmel has been saying about the Gov lately.
VO, thank you for the post. I was wondering why nobody here was noting this. Maher is a contemptible specimen of human species. Scratch that, he's not human. He's a species of poisonous jelly fish.
HBO has been worthless to me ever since the end of the Sopranos.
posted to get comments.
I canceled HBO long ago and this mental midget was one of the reasons. I can't imagine paying for this garbage.
Maher is a dastardly dude. I have no use for the idiot.
I actually do not watch people like Letterman and Maher because I found them offensive long ago. The only reason I ever watch them is when some controversy comes up and they're discussed in the straight news. Having said that, I don't think that, in this particular comment, Maher is either light of statutory rape or attacking her in any way that is more offensive than usual. It doesn't merit, in other words, the same level of outrage that Letterman's comments do. I would recommend cancelling HBO even if Maher had not said this. It's appropriate to call on readers to cancel HBO for this comment, but I can't imagine why anyone would want HBO in the first place.
I'm very picky about what I watch on television.
"Uffda, June 16, 2009 2:52 AM
Nice statement, Gov.
Hey, Maher! Maybe it wasn't Willow who needed to be protected from Letterman; maybe it was Letterman who needed to be protected from Willow."
Yes, that is what Gov Palin meant...
Maher's comment is an example of how STUPID Bill Maher is. His brain did not understand what Gov Palin meant by 'keeping Willow away from Letterman'...
Someone should send him an email and clue him in...
Maher has me torn right now. Oh yeah, my HBO subscription is toast, but I am not sure if what Maher says on pay television is worth getting exercised about. They have lots of vile and vulgar things on HBO, although of course nothing raaaaacist. So should I be upset about his misogyny? I'm still contemplating that. By all means continue the protest in NY, whoever is in the area, because clearly the left/media/enablers want us to back down and will one by one attack to show their power and then apologize to get away from the heat. Bullies.
Thanks Jenny for the link to HBO's complaint page. I just cancelled my subscription to HBO thru my local cable company "Brighthouse", and the money I'm saving, can now be added to my contributions to Sarah.
Easy question:
Who do we want our money to support?........Bill Maher.....or Sarah?
Hey Uffda!
No need to wait for Tripp to grow up! Visualize this:
PFC Track Palin walks into Maher's office.
Maher: "What do you want soldier boy? Whatcha gonna do? You can't touch me! Free speech! Overreaction! Political ploy....."
(voice getting shriller by the second)
Track quietly turns and locks the door. Fade to black......
Can you imagine how disgusting it must really be for Maher to glance at a mirror... the silence must be deafening!
A wrinkled old boy, not having become a man, and on life's current path, not a chance of it ever occurring.
"News - Pravda witht photos read in doctors' offices and Jiffy Lube".
Levin is hilarious.
What Bill Maher really hates is not Sarah Palin but the fact that this 'hick from Wasilla' won politically on so many levels over the last little while and that as a shrewd observer of the national political landscape knows that SP legitimized herself as a major player.
Of course Maher will continue to do his best to mock and marginalize Sarah Palin, but he knows all that will do is earn him a good paycheck and not turn back Sarah and what he considers the conservative hordes from the White House.
This is a big loss for the Far Left and Bill Maher knows it, and thus the outrageous joke.
Expected.
We're talking about a 55 year old lecher who stalks the playboy mansion on weekends for drunk 18 year olds to 'captivate'.
My disappointment, again, is with conservatives who help promote these reprobates. Ann Coulter, is a long time friend of Maher and just last month stated in an interview that he is a 'very good hearted guy'. NO he is not. He is evil to the core. How Coulter, can associate/excuse a misogynistic, anti-Christian bigot like him is beyond me, but I didn't get her last book because of it. Believe me, I'm no pollyanna and am a strong proponent of the first amendment, but we have to fight fire with fire, and in my opinion Coulter is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Americuda:
There are some things that I don't get. For example Rush Limbaugh calls Christopher Buckley a friend.
And you have the same situation with Ann Coulter with Bill Maher.
It may be similar to not being able to figure out how a married couple ever ended up with each other when they appear to be on complete opposite wavelengths or have nothing in common.
Mark Levin is out of control, man. That was great. I have to have all my conservative friends see that. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital when he started making fun of Joy Behar (cackling hen) and Countdown to no ratings Keith Overbite. Oh man, I still have tears in my eyes. Now I know why Hannity calls him "the great one."
rhett,
That's awesome. You just made my night.
This was really, really great. Thanks for the laughs, guys. My favorite part were the implied threats of physical violence towards Maher. Yeah! Free speech is great and all but saying some things in this country should just be punished with an unlawful, vicious beating.
Good luck running her in 2012. She's really smart and I think the American people are finally starting to realize that she's more than just a folksy, winking, incurious dolt who...Bwahahaha! Sorry, I couldn't get the whole line out without laughing. Seriously though, good luck.
I specifically did not get HBO with my Dish Network package because they host Maher - because of other ignorant things the little Troll has said in the past.
We haven't had cable in years because so much of what passes for "news programming" is in fact propaganda with some very obvious agendas in place. As for Maher, Imus was fired for saying far less incendiary things. Cable or not, this should be brought before the FCC as a personal attack.
