Dr. Chill: Liar, Liar; Now They're Claiming That We Made the Photo Ugly
Well, it seems that Dr. Chill, who created the downright nasty image of young Trig Palin is trying to pass the blame. He claims in a Politico comment that I downsized the image in order to make the picture appear worse:
I did the Baby Burke Photo with Sarah and Baby Eddie Burke in a loving embrace. The sites whose members are in an uproar reproduced the image without the caption and reduced the size of the image. I gave Big Burley Eddie Burke a perfectly lovely baby's body - in a perfectly lovely embrace. Now the governor thinks I've desecrated something. That might be true if it was sacred to begin with, and Eddie's face alone is enough to defile it.

As you can plainly see, the picture I uploaded onto C4P is the same image that appears on Celtic Diva's. This was the photo that I posted on C4P:
See, it's the same one from her website. I copied it exactly as it appeared on her website. I "right clicked" and saved the photo. That's all.
We know the standard liberal argument here: It's not Celtic Diva's fault that you are offended, its YOUR fault because you "don't understand the joke."
Well, I don't think that a joke involving a special needs baby can ever be funny. I don't know what we are "supposed to understand" on this one.
I'm sorry, but I just don't get it.

Like I said before, I saw the photo and had know idea that CD and Chill meant it was Eddie Burke. It pissed me off 200% because I immediately saw what it was: a use of the governor's child to make fun of handicapped children, or another attack on a child that they believe has no right to be alive due to their down syndrome.
When I read Burke, I figure they were thinking Edmund Burke, the Irish conservative in Parliament during the American Revolution. I thought, jeez these people are screwballs thinkin there is a pic of Burke around.

Also, I heard Hannity yesterday had a caller mention C4P's URL on the air, and he kind of cut her off, because he generally doesn't let callers promote websites, as some of them might be whacky.
However, today he mentioned Kerry's joke, and then mentioned the Alaska Democrat blogger and the picture of Trig, and he gave Eddie Burke a name mention too.
He said that he's sick and tired of the attacks on Sarah and her family, then urged people to give to the Alaska Fund Trust, then repeated the name again.
Hannity did not participate in this website's fund drive, but he agrees with it's goal and promoted that independently.
He's on around 600 of the highest rated talk stations around America.
I would call that a success.
I see Dr. chill went to Home Depot and bought a few more shovels. If these clowns had one ounce of integrity, they'd admit they screwed up trying to make a silly joke. I guess that's expecting too much though. If the democrats throw them under the bus, the apologies will probably emerge.
I was reading the comments on the CNN ticker regarding Palin's response to the picture. There was some nice support for the Guv, even among those in disagreement with her politics. However, most of the opinion was that is she can't stand the heat she should get out of the kitchen and that she should accept this kind of a thing as a consequence of putting the kids in the public eye and on stage. Do they have any kind of a point here? How do we respond to this kind of opinion? Its prevalent out there, almost a new boilerplate liberal talking point...

I wouldn't worry too much about what "they" think or say; their opinion is held by a few, but they happen to clog the blogs with this talking point.
Most Americans are decent and most Americans understand and respect that she's taking a stand for her children; not herself, but for her kids.
Point out that the Obamas, the Bidens, the Edwards, everyone has their families with them at major political events, such as party conventions and candidate debates.
Then remind them of the Vice Presidential Debate, where after the event was over the Palins and Heaths were mingling with the Bidens on stage for a good long while on world wide television. Does that make Joe Biden's adult daughter's coke snorting habit fair game?
Point out that when it comes to other politician's children, especially Democrats, there is no "heat in the kitchen".
I would not mention the Obama's kids, because they are younger and if you get rude even by hypotheticals, race will be thrown back at you in such volume that you will not be listened to.
Stick with the Bidens and Edwards, maybe Clinton's daughter too.

LT...ask them how many male politicians' children are used as the butt of jokes? It's not like they don't put them out there. The Obama girls have been on the cover of every major magazine and were out on the trail several times in the fall. Chelsea trailed her parents around during Bill's campaign; I saw her onstage with her mother in VA. Most politicians running for national office do not have young children, but when they do, the kids should be with their parents and often are.

On second thought, it would be alright to mention that the Obama girls were at the DNC Convention in Denver on stage as a highlighted feature, and on magazine covers and such, but don't go into things like "what if I said this about Obama's girls, what would you say?", as that will lower you to their standards and allow them to start attacking you as a racist, even though you're just making a point with a hypothetical.
Don't be nasty, just firmly make the point that every politician has their children involved in the campaigns at some point, and the rules of decency should not be suspended for the Palins uniquely.
Argue policy, leave the kids out of it all the way around.
That is the most effective way to approach this, in my opinion.
Some people will not be persuadable, but many will who may not be commenting, but are silent lurkers.

I defy anyone to give me concrete examples when people have specifically targeted the minor children of a politician. And I don't want to hear about the one time Limbaugh made an offhand remark about Chelsey Clinton; nothing came of that. From day one, starting with the Trig truthers, people have been attempting to destroy her family.

Sarah Palin has withstood plenty of heat since she was chosen as McCain's VP candidate. IMO, she's handled the most vile attacks against her and her family with grace and dignity. I can't remember anything this rotten directed toward a political family, and I'm old.

The 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment is providing aviation support with UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters to U.S. forces and coalition forces. This is an air assault mission in which the unit will be tasked with various duties including passenger and cargo airlift, external sling load deliveries, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. “I am happy to pass on the message of sincere thanks from all Alaskans,” Governor Palin said. “We are so proud of their service.”
A part of Governor Palin’s duties while she is in country is to inspect the troops and ascertain how the experience in Kosovo will better prepare these service members for missions within Alaska and future deployments overseas.
“As commander-in-chief, Governor Palin is the one we look to for leadership and inspiration while serving and defending the sovereign boundaries of Alaska,” said Lt. Gen. (AK) Craig E. Campbell, Adjutant General of the Alaska National Guard. “We thank the commanding general of the Multi-National Task Force East for the invitation to visit and for his hospitality while in country.”
The 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation is the most deployed unit in the Alaska National Guard, having previously deployed elements to Kosovo in 2004, as well as fulfilling missions in Iraq, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras.

They are exactly the same image with the exception of a VERY slight color shift. Said shift is most likely the result of saving and/or rendering the image in a different color space.

I agree with parts of ur comment but want to add something for general public awareness. I also grew up thinking that Michael Jackson was a freak. And he does weird things. BUT, i want to make a point about his appearance. I learned some months back that he had an illness where he lost pigment cells. So he lost pigmentation in a large area of his body. It may not be a big deal to someone who's fair-skinned, but it's such a contrast for dark skinned people. He had patches of dark normal skin and areas of pure whiteness. One treatment for that is to do a total depigmentation in order to make skintone even, which i think he did. That means kill all the cells, thus, no color production, thus no dark skin color.
When I learned that, I was saddened because (like George Bush?) MJ never said anything while everyone called him a freak for "wanting to become White." Having his skin condition damages self-esteem, and b/c he had was African American features, but had WHITE skin, i'm sure it contributed to his body image issues. I wish he could have had the courage to at least address that. I was flabbergasted to learn that I had dismissed him as a freak all while I was growing up, and then I realized he was covering up what is an embarrassing discoloration. I wished he had the chance to reveal that.
I now look back and am just guessing that he always wore long shirts...to hide. He wore the cutoff gloves (that became a hit)...to hide the white patches that developed in his hands and spread throughout his body. I felt bad that I judged him negatively all these years about his turning white (the rest is another story, since there's self-inflicted problems he brought on himself)
There's many reasons why people are not fans of MJ, but just wanted to say that the whole turning white incident wasn't a whim. It's a self-conscious thing, just like for people with severe psoriasis or eczema and feel a need to hide. Finding that out had my jaw dropping, b/c it was like believing something and then being totally wrong about it. Eye opener.

The head is actually fully Trigs (forehead, hears, temple, cheek, chin).

Someone over at Gateway Pundit mentioned that the photo looks exactly like those old caricatures of Jewish men and women during Hitler's reign. He/she linked to some of the propaganda posters and the similarities are spot-on. Crooked nose,large and exaggerated facial features - grotesque is a perfect adjective for this photo and those anti-Jewish posters of yesteryear.

The "racist" trap is a rhetorical ambush that most libs are waiting to spring on a conservative.
Don't give them a chance to use their favorite weapon.
Draw them onto your ground, by taking race out of it from the start.
I have found it helpful when debating liberals.
When they can't play the "race card" on you, you've already won half the battle.
Then they wind up trying to attack what you actually said, rather than what they wish you had said.
Most of the time, if you're calm and factual, they will get frustrated first and lose it.
Then, you win.
Trust me, it works.
Sometimes though, nothing beats a good old fashioned flame war!
Just pick your battles wisely, and use noble weapons, so you win with your honor intact.
That's my advice, take it how you will.

Just wait till I see them out in public. The best way to "mock and create a scene" is to embarrass them in public. And I am the best at that!
