Wednesday random thoughts:
------------
imnsho, Sarah has taken a brilliant position on having a baby after having gotten pregnant:
I CHOOSE LIFE. That's all she says.
- and so does Bristol
------------
Where you have a bad philosophy, you have a bad system.
- Bad Philosophy: The government should take over health care.
- Bad System: The government taking over health care.
When Sarah talks about this, she needs to talk about the philosophy first, that is, government should not be in the health care business. That is not the role of government, etc. etc.
Also missing from the debate: Living a healthy lifestyle. Who embodies that: you know (SP)
----------
Who will be the first celebrity or pol / pundit to say "If I die, I die", and get in Sarah's camp ?
- Then others will follow (flood ?) to her camp . . .
-----------
What Sarah represents almost cannot put in words. Nancy did a good job yesterday. I've posted 'What Sarah stands for' (Peggy Noonan didn't know after 7 weeks on the campaign trail). Others have written glowing testimonies from the heart, but quickly and not exhaustively, she represents LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (and a few million other things)
-------
Question: What is the reaction to gazing at
- the vastness and beauty of Alaska,
- a rose,
- a baby, or
- a peacock?
Answer: Utter amazement.
Go C4P.
Go Sarah.
Thank you Sarah.
Do we have any information on where Gov.Palin is at the moment? I don't trust Obama's DoD to protect her, so this silence troubles me.
The Mencken - Cleveland - Palin article needs to be made a main story on C4P if that is allowed.
It is fantastic.
Red and Black,
Link?
Red & Black,
Found it above.
On O'Reilly's show, Monica Crowley commented on the missed opportunity for the administration: failing to recognize that what is going on in Iran is a woman's movement; 40% of the protesters and victims are women.
She said that they should have gathered some powerful American women, and mentioned Gov. Palin among them, to make a statement about the protests.
Well, the 'Cuda's ahead of the pack; tweet from June 21: "Women worldwide watching Iran protests led by women demanding fair election & equality; their voices loud, strong; they will usher in change"
Looks as if more work is needed in fundraising efforts. There are 3 more ethics complaints to be filed against Sarah "soon". Additionaly there is an ongoing IRS/ embezzelment investgation by the feds. What is that all about? Where did that come from? Does anyone know anything about this? I hope it is just a viscious rumor that is being circulated; however, it is finding its way around the web. Stay strong.
On Fox & Friends this morning, they had a short segment on John F'ing Kerry commenting that Sarah should have gone missing, not Mark Sanford, Gov of S.C.
So Sarah got a little press regarding PDS, plus they mentioned "one less candidate" [opposing her]
From Gov. Sarah's facebook page (and perhaps SarahPac too)
The following refers to a post Conservatives 4 Palin made Wednesday and to which others are responding:
"Recently we learned of a malicious desecration of a photo of the Governor and baby Trig that has become an iconic representation of a mother's love for a special needs child.
The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling. To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democrat Party blogger for Alaska, should be ashamed of herself and the Democratic National Committee should be ashamed for promoting this website and encouraging this atrocious behavior.
Babies and children are off limits. It is past time to restore decency in politics and real tolerance for all Americans. The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for its party. We ask that special needs children be loved, respected and accepted and that this type of degeneracy be condemned."

Yesterday, I was listening to Hannity on my way home... around 5:30 or so ET, a lady called in (forgot her name) from Anchorage, AK and had a lot of nice things to say about SP. Hannity went on to defend her quite well. Anyhow, the lady sent a shout out to C4P.
I wonder if she is a member here?

re: Meg Stapleton's strong statement on the doctored photo of baby Trig:
WOW.
The Kerry "joke" is big news. From the comments I've seen, most just say it's Kerry being the jerk he's always been.
Here's something interesting about the NOW convention at the Reclusive Leftist:
The Truth about the NOW election:
http://www.reclusiveleftist.com/2009/06/24/the-truth-about-the-now-election/
#12: It’s perhaps worth stepping back and asking why Sarah Palin is such a reviled figure that the phrase “Palin supporter” is the mark of Cain. NOW itself, under the leadership of Kim Gandy, is part of the reason. NOW cooperated with the Obama campaign last year in spreading lies about Palin designed to make her seem crazily right-wing. Most of the things Palin is reviled for — the rape kit smear, the abstinence-only smear, the anti-contraception smear — are simply not true. Ironically, NOW justifies its vilification of Palin with lies that the organization itself helped spread.
I hear they're going after the Palins for their snowmachines now.
Snowmachines?
Is that the best you can do?
I wish these guys would go after all politicians the way they're going after Sarah. 99.9% of them would be out of office by now.
Kathryn Jean Lopez writing in the NRO "The Corner":
"Something There Resonates"
"I’m not inclined to get all sisterly about these things — I’m so not into electing women because they are women. But it’s funny – not quite the right word! – that you say that, Dana. A friend e-mailed tonight and said: “Bring on the Alaskan mother of five.”

Lucianne.com on its main page is displaying the photo of Sarah standing on the flight deck on the carrier USS John C. Stennis. The caption under the photo reads:
"For a welcome change of pace...
Sarah Palin on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
Some girls can wear anything."
Looks as if under BO's watch things are getting worser and worser. Love it!

Re: "I don't trust Obama's DoD to protect her, so this silence troubles me."
The U.S. Military is protecting her. They are the last institution of government left in the United States you can trust.
The politicians at the top of the chain of command are another story but trust the soldiers, she's in good hands. As seen the other day, flag officers are falling all over themselves just to meet her. They know a leader when they see one.
I had lunch yesterday with a client at a local burger joint, while Mark Sanford was doing his presser. The howls of ridicule made me physically ill ... or it could have been the burger.
Anyway, it got me thinking about the Sanford thing, the horrendous Trig picture thing, and what it is that separates, talking in very broad generalities here, conservatives and liberals, us and them.
Why is it when one of our own veers off the straight and narrow, they know their climb up the political ladder stops, and we expect no less. But when one of the other guys does likewise, it's a resume enhancement, they are cheered as heroes, and seldom suffer any lasting political consequences - look no further than Bill Clinton and Barney Frank.
We poke fun at public figures here (Bore in the woods, etc.), and confront their records and hypocrisy with facts, but never attack them or their families with gossip, innuendo and cheap shots.
So what's the difference? To quote our vice president, "It's a three letter word..." - character. We have it, they don't.
The reason our fallen politicians seldom live to run another race is simple. To the liberals, the argument is always - it's personal, not political, and has no effect on how they do their job. To us, character is such a key component of a politician's persona, that if a politician will cheat on and lie to their spouse, then what will they to do their constituents? As we're seeing more profoundly with each passing day, elections have consequences.
I have to agree with V.O., that we need to cease and desist with the personal attacks on the Governor's enemies, in spite of the fact that they are such tempting targets. Blast them all you want on their behavior and deeds, but the personal slurs make us no better than they are, and we ARE better, which is why we've allowed the left to beat us up in the past.
But critical mass has been reached. Perhaps the biggest irony of the Letterman fiasco, is that something he intended for evil, is turning into a great awakening for good and for a return to civility and fairness in the political arena. Could there be no greater humiliation to him than this?
The Governor is fighting back, as now are we. We CAN win this. We just have to fight fair and we will beat them at their own game. As Patton said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!" Well, libs, we've read your book and we're organized, mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore (credit: the actor from Network, can't remember his name)!
Finally, and I posted this line before, I read it on a comment thread at Lucianne.com, I'd love to take credit for it, but I try to exhibit character, so I won't, but it went something like this: "Sarah Palin is the only politician right now who, when she swears to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, won't perjure herself when she says it.
Off the soap box and on the spreadsheets.
Well said, Bean Counter!
Nice post, Bean Counter.
To add, everyone should remember that the devil isn't as bad as God is good...they are not equal opposites, so sooner or later, we win. You betcha!
I posted this video link very late last night (late at least for me!) so I'm reposting this morning for anyone that missed it. Just a short PDS spoof.

OK. As we go after the sick picture that CD had of Trig. Foxnews has the story of Kerry's Statement.

To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. PWNED
CD just got her stomach stapled.
If anybody watched Greta last night, it was funny how she laid out the difference between GOV Palin and GOV Sanford. You could see that Greta was pissed at Sanford. Sanford always was such a straight forward person. He let Greta down as he did me. At the end Greta mentioned GOV Palin and her trip that is secret. As down and dissappointed (should I say mean) as Greta was with Sanford you could see her spark up when talking of GOV Palin's reason was she could not give her whereabouts because she is visiting AK soldiers. Greta still likes GOV Palin. You can see it in her body and talk when mentioning GOV Palin.
jimr3,
thanks for pointing out that awesome picture of the Governor in a flight suit.
It is amazing that Sarah is always smiling. A happy warrior.

I think Gov.Palin should tape a video commending the bravery of Iranian women and tell them the American people stand with them.
The mystery of the scraping noises heard at the White House since January 20, 2009, has been solved.
It is actually White House staffers being forced to drag those styrofoam Greek columns behind Barack Obama wherever he goes.
Everywhere he goes, there are staffers scrambling to keep up with him, dragging those unwieldy things behind him, and then carefully placing them behind him to recreate that tingle he gave himself at his DNC speech.
When shaving in the morning, Greek columns.
When reading the morning paper, Greek columns.
When talking on the phone to world leaders, Greek columns.
When having lunch, Greek columns.
When walking the dog, Greek columns. (yes, they have been desecrated by the dog, once or twice.)
When in the Oval Office, Greek columns.
When getting foreign policy wrong, Greek columns.
When ruining the economy, Greek columns.
When picking out gifts for foreign leaders, Greek columns.
When practicing his bow, Greek columns.
When planning date night, Greek columns.
When giving the go ahead for an Air Force One spin around the skies of New York City, Greek columns.
When practicing his bowling game, Greek columns.
Now, he wants them in the press room when he goes down to the adoring hordes, but they don't fit through that door. So, he feels a bit naked, kinda like an emperor with no clothes on.
It's quite an entourage he's got going, what with TOTUS being drug around with him too. But, that's just the way he rolls!
Here are some more pics of Gov. Palin on the aircraft carrier.

right on again.
No one took my challenge yesterday:
When BHO lays his head down on his pillow each night, what is he really thinking?
Suggestion box is now open !
The A to Z to Political Success for Sarah Palin:
ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT:
Much of Sarah Palin's electoral success or not in 2012 will be dependent on 4 economic or financial factors: the extent of the economic fallout and social malaise caused from Obama's statist agenda, the impact of the government deficit on inflation, taxation, or interest rates, the unemployment rate, and/or how badly Obama has been perceived to have 'screwed up' the American ability to compete in general and in contrast what ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT Sarah Palin has conceived to unleash the economic potential of America, to foster lower taxes and low interest rates, to put the American people back to work, and to restore American prosperity and the past greatness of the commercial and industrial engine.
IMHO here are 10 things that Sarah Palin must do:
1)Take a "it is what it is" approach to the American economy (forgoing the political rhetoric of Wall Street greed etc)and along with her own expertise and personal research consult with renowned economists, businesspeople and think tanks to what actually and objectively caused the economic meltdown last September, what current economic policy or political philosophy has done to help or exacerbate the financial problems, and what deliberate steps the experts recommend be taken over a course of time 'to stop digging the hole' and then reverse course and start 'digging oneself out'. For Sarah this all takes time to muster. Fortunately for Sarah she has two years to get her economic ducks in a row before the start of the next primary season.
2)Along with #1 Sarah must bring on board the best economic minds to her campaign who subscribe to a 'conservative vision' of economic recovery.
3)Assuming that Sarah will be campaigning as a Reagan conservative (RC) it is extremely important the the economic advice and wisdom given to Sarah by her advisors dovetail, be congruent or tailored to a RC message as much as possible. A clear line of demarcation must be established between Obama's bleak, economic pronouncements and edicts and Sarah's uplifting and liberating vision of economic hope to give American voters a clear choice in 2012.
4)Sarah must be able to ARTICULATE the 'plan' in language that average Americans can process and grasp with utmost honesty and balance that with providing enough cogent complexity so that her arguments hold together and receive the blessing of conservative intellectuals, pundits and politicians. If those considered her allies 'pan' her solution, Sarah will be in deep political trouble, with an accompanying loss of credibility. Sarah will have enough on her plate fending off the Far Left and the MSM as it savages her ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT as she provides rebuttals to their criticism.
5)I don't know what the proper mix is but Sarah must champion 'free enterprise options', personal initiative and entreprenurial spirit and limited government interference in any solution.
6)Along with #4 Sarah must be able to articulate valid criticisms of Obama's economic policies, show where they are impractical, counterproductive, flawed or disastrous to economic performance.
7)Sarah should provide a historical context by comparing the glowing economic record of Coolidge with the dismal economic performances of Hoover and FDR to clearly show why conservative economic philosophy works. Using the works of Amity Shlaes or other scholars would be of benefit here.
8)Sarah must take on unapologetically the environmental wackos, cap and trade, climate change, the nanny state and expose it for the fraud that the movement is and how it has caused the American lifestyle to 'go in the dumper' and destroyed the American economy.
9)With #8 promote energy development and independence as they only way to lower the cost of gasoline and heating fuel and give an initial boost to job creation.
10)The hardest thing that Sarah will have to do is bring the RINO's on board with her ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT. If Sarah does not pull this off IMHO she will not beat Obama in 2012.
Bill,
suggestion box...
BHO: Where did I hide that pack of cigs?
OH, Yeah, behind the Greek columns ....
Nancy, LOL!!!! Love the Greek column piece!
Send out e-mails to the "outlets" letting them know that Palin is overseas...let's see if she can get some coverage for it and get Sanford and Obama off the news a little bit this weekend.
techno,
re: your lengthy post on
>>The A to Z to Political Success for Sarah Palin: ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT:
- this is great stuff, you put a lot of thought behind this and any young conservative should read it.
But it's too much to digest, even a few spaces and line breaks would help.
I asked you earlier to no avail, are you documenting all of this so we could download a .pdf or something ? It's really good stuff.
Bill in Baltimore:
There is a limit to the numbers of characters (4096) one can include in one post. Therefore I have been forced to compress paragraphs.

just got an e-mail from my daughter, who works on Capitol Hill.
Call your Congressman / woman and let them know to vote against CAP 'n Trade ! this is a horrendous piece of legis-shame-tion.
Here's how much you'll pay
http://www.taxfoundation.org/capandtrade.
sorry, I didn't check out the link, but my daughter is a reliable source :-)
Red alert !
Cap 'n Trade'
re: Cap 'n Trade legis-shame-tion that I referenced above, the vote is Friday or Saturday !
We must burn up the lines on this one ! Call your Congressman. check out the link just above to see how much you WILL PAY !
Freedom of Choice Act
this pro-abortion law is a disaster and will overturn virtually all states laws regarding abortion, including "partial-birth abortion"
The FOCA will include public funding of abortion through nationalized healthcare !
This is a disgrace ! We have got to act NOW.
btw, Sarah's position on having a baby when you are pregnant is brilliant:
I CHOOSE LIFE
Sarah's position on abortion laws is 100% correct:
LET THE STATES DECIDE
What can they say to that logic ? CHOICE comes back to bite them . . .
C4P rocks !
techno,
you said:
>>[all of my posts on what Sarah should do are] on C4P and will be archived for you and others to read at your leisure.
So I take that as a "No", you are not going to put it together in a document. You're saying I should just search through C4P archives and find your manifestos like days apart in threads all over the place?
I'm complimenting you for the work, if you just want it to be seen by a few people who happen to see your post fly by, that's up to you.
I just thought it would have more impact in a consolidated fashion for those who weren't watching every comment on every thread, that's all.
Also, like I said, your posts are too hard to read, few spaces and no line breaks. Since there is a limit to what can be put in one posts, here's an idea: use two posts. Just thinkin' out of the box here
Cap and Trade wil be an economic disaster. If it passes, the Democrats will lose big in 2010 and 2012. President will repeal it on January 20, 2013.
Bill in Baltimore:
Look at my name technopeasant: I am not mechanically or intellectually equipped or literate enough to do what you ask.
I am a firm believer in the Peter Principle and that a person has to know his limitations.
techno,
I am trying to help you spread your seeds, you have good things to say, it's just hard to read.
you can break up your posts into two posts, part A and part B, no ?
Then you can add spaces after your numbers and you can add line breaks.
Plus, where is technopeasant? I only see techno.
What's so hard about that ?
techno - On your Blueprint I understand what you are saying and I partially get it, BUT as poll #s show the savage beating she is getting currently from the MSM and Elites is not sticking. All GOV Palin will have to do is prove she is qualified to be President to the American People. I don't think will be as hard as people think. She clearly can connect. If the average citizen understands what she is saying it will not matter what the elites think she is who they will want.
Let me give an example. I was an Information Technolgy manager a few years ago. I understand it but at the same time I am not tech whiz. When there was a problem I could put it in laymans terms and the users understood what the problem was. Had a Tech whiz work for me. Granted he could get into the details of how it was fixed but could not get the message to the users as he talked over their head. This is GOV Palin. If it makes sense to the family sitting around the kitchen table it does not matter if the Frums, MAtthews and crew think the people will be hearing what they want. This is what she must do.
Gravitas? Forget it. As this economy continues to tank nobody will care about Gravitas. They will understand 15 trillion in debt.
Sid4'Cuda,
LOL! Love your suggestion box entry! Classic.
Bill in Baltimore,
Thanks for all your insightful comments and your kind words.
I don't know how I missed the suggestion box you opened for us! Great idea!:)
Maybe he thinks, "The one time I give the TOTUS dragger a night off and Michelle asks me how she looks in her new dress! What are the odds! This couch sure isn't very comfortable."
I think the most important topic right now is the Cap and Trade bill (a 'global warming monstruosity). Another bill that could get approved without anyone reading it. (although the Trig picture flap has merit, I consider it a distraction right now)
The bill is based on flawed science as both the long term and short term trends in global temperatures are for a Cooling of the earth, not warming. The effects of a 'carbon footprint' are miniscule compared to the solar radiation falling on the earth, which has been, and will continue to decline. On top of that we could be entering a 'Maunder minimum' of solar inactivity which could lead to a 'small ice age' for the next 100 years.
Although it is true that in the 90's there was a temporary temperature increase, it was a blip, ending in 2001, in the overall earth cooling trend. Any recommendations based on data from that (tunnel vision) time period is now obsolete and should be revised.
So, we have flawed science used to ram a bill no one will read which will benefit special interests, increase our debt and hamstring the economy by stopping it in its tracks.
It must be stopped.
Funny how governor Palin was the only politician in the last few years to stand up against the 'global warming' folly and state that natural effects such as solar radiation would have a larger effect than greenhouse gases. She paid dearly and suffered ridicule for it. Time will tell if she was right.
(so I say, save the earth from glaciation, burn more fuel!!)
Guys,
Zaki just admitted his "iceberg" is going to be dismissed, haahahah.
Hannity on radio just called out the Alaska Fund Trust for Sarah!!
Thank you Shawn!!
Tommy,
re:
>>Zaki just admitted his "iceberg" is going to be dismissed, haahahah.
I have a sense of what you are talking about, but I could use a little context here, plus there's a lot of newbies on the site.
Thanks.
Just when you think that Sean Hannity is in the tank for Romney, Hannity is really focusing big-time on Sarah today.
I wonder if he's being reading the recent PPP polls or PEW poll numbers recently.
It's called covering your ass just in case Sarah does run in 2012 and you still want to be considered privy to her current political thoughts which allows you to get interviews with her.
Let's all send Shawn a note thanking him for mentioning the AFT and posting a link on his web site.
http://hannity.com/contactus.asp
Shawn went ballistic on Kerry. He said is sick of the attacks on Sarah. Several times he called out the AFT, gave the url and he encourage everyone to give. He also said he would post a link to the fund on his website.
I think Rush, Sean and Mark know that Sarah is going to run in 2012. Although they are all cagey, they all have been around a long time and see the writing on the wall and plus they all talk to each other.
And really how do not at least give some love to a candidate who is a Reagan conservative when you as a talk show host advocate Reagan's positions every day on the air.
For example, why would a governor of Alaska take a trip to Europe and foreign countries st the start of summer? Sure it is important to touch base with the Alaskans in the military; I am not impugning Sarah's motives and never would but let's face it Sarah has been brilliant in her political strategy in the last 6 months and this trip overseas only enhances her credentials in the foreign affairs arena.
Fellow Sarah Palin supporters, we are backing a winner, who has the discipline not to make any unforced errors. In this sense she is a blooming genius.
Unbelievable: Politico in its comments section has way more favorable comments to Palin on the 'Kerry joke' than unfavorable ones.
Wow! Perhaps Sarah is turning a corner in terms of establishing her intellectual credentials and political credibility with moderates and independents.
And thus 'the Trig' picture controversy and the Frum article lamenting that Sarah is benefiting from the Sanford unforced error are released to try to blunt Sarah's perceived political momentum as revealed in the PEW poll and the PPP poll.
We need to register more voters to our side. No brainers there.
Sarah connects with the people and inspires them. There's a pool of disgruntled and disenchanted people out there that have long tuned out of the national political conversation and Sarah can tap into this.
How big is this group? Nobody knows. Is this the sleeping giant? Is this also why the liberals and some GOP elites fear her?
Sarah may know this too.
Why did Sarah ask, during the last dismal days of the past campaign that she be allowed to have another go at it in Michigan? Her political antenna must have been picking up messages of the desperate yearnings from the blue collar underclass. Pew confirms her strong support from this group in the polls yesterday.
It's never too early to start organizing and registering new voters. VIVA SARAH!
What does Zaki going to dismiss something mean? Thought I knew everything...guess I was wrong again...my Hubby was right...I don't know everything.
juju,
I didn't realize you were a lady, no offense intended.
Oh man, they got your hackles up, and look, it went mainstream ! I'm so impressed and there are PLENTY of us lurking . . .
I've always contended, even in the last pres election: there's more of us than there are of them.
And Sarah is ON FIRE today about precious babies and our servicemen and women. How excited do you think they are to be in her presence !
Now that I know you are a lady, let's let some stew on this for a while:
Women rule the world.
I believe it. Iran will prove it.
"The hand that rocks the cradle rules a nation."
Thank you SARAH !
You know, it just occurred to me, I hope Gov. Palin got the consolation prize shrimp and grits and she crab soup from Sanford before he's forced to resign....
To the pundits and political commentators it's all about poll numbers. Once they sensed the momentum they all just follow because that's where every body is going.
From the grassroots we knew the numbers long before they took the polls, which is basically calling us in small samplings.
We were not surprised at all. But they were.
VIVA SARAH!
Bean counter. It's not wise of her if she accepts the consolation prize from Gov. Sanford. Some liberal blogger will find a way to tarnish her by saying that she is pallin' around with an adulterer. Best for her is to just keep silent. Send him that king salmon and be done with it.
VIVA SARAH!
happymullah, I understand and I thought of that, but dang, have you ever had good shrimp & grits and shecrab soup?
Plus, shifting gears here, Drudge is reporting that Michael Jackson is dead!
HappyMullah,
I like your point about registering voters. Obama was able to register a lot of new voters. Governor Palin, because of her charisma, can do the exact same thing for our side.
happymullah, Doug, maybe our C4P gurus could set up a permanent link on the main page to all 50 states' voter registration websites, to make it easy to register to vote, and then a weekly or so reminder to visitors to the site to go register if they haven't yet done so.
No effort in this regard is too small or insignificant.
Do you know what's better than eating wild Alaskan freshly caught succulent red salmon?
Eating wild Alaskan freshly caught and freshly smoked succulent red salmon.
Aaaah . . .
Life doesn't get much better.
That is all.
For now.
Rush: "I don't ask much of you people, but today I'm asking." Call your reps and senators tonight and tomorrow morning re Crap and Tax. Capitol Hill Switchboard: 202-224-3121.
Also, write to your congresscritters and use Rush's question:
Dear Senator,
Are you going to opt out of the current health plan for the public plan that you're advocating for the rest of us?
A simple "yes' or "no" will do.
Sincerely,
Sick to Death of all This
