Were Politico and CNN at the Same Fundraiser?
Some amazing differences in media coverage of Governor Palin's appearance at the NRCC/NRSC fundraiser in Washington...
First, look at Alex Isenstadt's report for Politico, titled "Sarah Palin makes little splash at dinner":
But in spite of all the back-and-forth between her camp and dinner organizers leading up to the event, Palin's presence went little-noticed.
The Alaska Governor sat next to her husband, Todd Palin, at the table of NRSC Chairman John Cornyn, but she didn’t make any public remarks.
If she hadn't walked quickly across the stage the outset and if her presence hadn’t been mentioned briefly in the remarks of some of the evening's speakers, it would have been hard to know that she had, in fact, shown up.
Now look at Peter Hamby's report for CNN, titled "Palin center of attention at big GOP dinner":
Newt Gingrich was the keynote speaker at Monday night's fundraising dinner for the Senate and House Republican campaign committees, but it was Sarah Palin who stole the show.
[...]
Palin did not speak at the event, but during a break in the program for dinner, Republicans clustered around the former vice presidential nominee's table near the front of the ballroom, eager to meet the governor and pose for pictures.
It was the only table in the vast ballroom that had a crowd gathered around it -- and despite their distance from Palin's table, multiple television cameras kept their lenses trained on the governor for much of the night.
Were there two separate fundraisers? Or did Isenstadt of Politico just beclown himself with some blatant bias? Because I think we know which of the two reports above is more likely.
UPDATE: (h/t TommyReport) Even Dana Milbank is more truthful than Isenstadt:
The focus, meanwhile, was on a table in the first row, where a certain governor was holding court. During dinner, all the television cameras trained their lenses on Palin, her image grainy across the room. Dozens of well-wishers clustered around her table in the first row, for a chance to have a photo taken with her.

Maybe the Politico reporter couldn't find her behind all the crowds of people. I was happy about CNN's report for once.
I trust CNN more then politico
V.O.,
Take a look at these links, hahaha. This Politico guy has a rigid definition of "splash."

Despite Questions About Her Appearance, Palin Welcomed at GOP Dinner

like EVERYONE went over to greet palin.
Politico = Obama boys down play palin.
CNN = Palin steals the show and that damn newt called sotomayor a racist! Rawr!
Let's go to the tape.
The media are a joke and have lost their credibility.
Funnily enough I would have expected CNN to be the media organisation letting fly with the rampant bias.
Then again perhaps their dwindling ratings numbers are forcing them to revaluate their position somewhat?
As for the Politico, honestly what normal person actually gives a stuff what they have to say anyway?

More people will link to the CNN story anyway. CNN is once again one of the most visited news websites even though their cable ratings numbers have shriveled up.
The irony is why is this hack from Politico featuring Sarah w/ a photo in his article if she only "made a little splash." What a tool! That is such a demeaning headline too.
That's alright - Sarah made a BIG SPLASH on Fox tonight!
Yahoo news has a very anti-Palin article by Jonathan something from "CQ Politics", entitled "Gingrich Trumps Palin".
I won't link it, but the point is that Gingrich is smart enough to give a long policy speech while Palin isn't.
The Narrative continues: Anybody But Palin 2012!
POLITICO report is so so funny. If she made a splash why don't you headline your report with Newt and just splashing Palin somewhere in your right-up.
Sarah is always gracious, willing to allow others to grandstand, all the while stealing the show. It appears she is maturing as a politician while not loosing her small town charm. As her dad said, "Don't underestimate 'cuda." He said Sarah not 'cuda, of course. It appears she is counseling with some expericnced political hands. This will be fun to watch. Sarah, you go girl!!
If she can "upstage" an event with big names , is there even a discussion who's the star.
In all that time Gingrich took giving his speech, did he say anything different than he says on FOX twice or thrice nightly? He was on O'Rielly's show again last night, essentially saying nothing about the N Korean's sentencing of 2 US citizens to 12 years in a labor camp.
I seem to recall that back in March the NRSC said their event was going to be at a venue that could seat 6,000, and that they could even add space for 6,000 more. Now, I hear they only had 2,000 attendees. If they had headlined Gov. Palin, they probably could have gotten the originally planned for 6,000 and maybe even expanded it to 12,000, plus raised a lot more money.
I did appreciate that BOR did feature Gov. Palin in his Pinheads and Patriots segment last night, naming her a patriot for traveling 3,700 miles to NY to participate in the Autism walk.
Megyn Kelly just had a segment about the dinner...said Gov. Palin was the center of attention.
What else would anyone expect out of Politico? I guess I was kind of slow because it took me a while to understand that it wasn't a bi-partisan site - just more covert Obama fawners.
The anti-Palin people never seem to understand that "if she was as insignificant as they say she is" - they wouldn't bother going out of their way to diss her.
This morning, tuesday. The Today show O Donnell Matt Lauer are still trashing Palin. They do not show the quote that Newt is thrilled that Palin quoted him. and they are totally taking out of context and deliberatly not showing where Palin credits Newt and STILL SAYING she Plagerized Newt!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!
Maybe what they meant by "splash" was "Governor Palin embarrassing herself and being hit on the head by a falling piece of stage equipment." No, wait, that was some other poor slob. :)
Ignore the haters. If they wanted to hear her give a good speech, she did that on Saturday. Instead they play the most tongue-tied part of the Reagan intro speech ad nauseum. Forget them. Go 'Cuda!
Can we all finally agree on the truth that Politico is a joke?
It's becoming the new MSNBC.
Losers.
Yep, Politico is severely backtracking from Ben Smith's pseudo-positive article last weekend. It's significant to note that Smith is probably the only one of their reporters to actually meet and spend time with her.
Clearly the news director (excuse me, smear director) said to go back to all-negative all the time, because in addition to their lying account about the Palin nonsplash, they also have an article about "cold relations" with pix of Begich/Palin.
Along with, get this, a pic of Obama in a church and a headline "Obama quotes Jesus more than Bush." Unbelievable.
