Another Frivolous Ethics Complaint Filed Against Palin, Third Since Resignation Announcement

Rachel D'Oro of the Associated Press, via KTUU:

Another ethics complaint has been filed against Gov. Sarah Palin, alleging she abused her office by accepting a salary and used state staff while campaigning as the Republican vice presidential candidate last year.

This newest complaint was filed by ankle-biting disgruntled job seeker Andree McLeod and is very similar to previous complaints of hers that have already been thrown out.

It joins two other frivolous complaints filed since Governor Palin's July 3rd decision to step aside as Alaska Governor -- one filed by Zane Henning and another by Ray Ward.

And pundits are still questioning her stated reasons from passing the reins to Lt Gov Sean Parnell?

You can help by making a donation to the Alaska Fund Trust.

UPDATE: Cuda Tweet.

Are these constant, wasteful thumped-up ethics charges result of not caving when the filer begged for job? More frivolous chrgs filed today:

"Thumped-up" is a reference to "The Thumpin".

UPDATE II: Another Tweet:

Ethics issue would almost be funny if it weren't such an abuse of justice. AKns deserve our public resources be used wisely, not frivolously.

LOL on the latest tweet! "Are these constant, wasteful thumped-up ethics charges result of not caving when the filer begged for job? More frivolous chrgs filed today:"

Jenny July 14, 2009 6:56 PM

Desperate clowns. Sarah is more justified than ever for resigning. The ankle-biters are making a mockery of the left and proving Sarah's point. Idiots!

Greg July 14, 2009 6:58 PM

I still want to know how McLeod supports herself, I never hear of her having a job, we know the Beagle has a "disability," but what is McLeod's story? My guess is that she's being supported by Axelrod or Soros with payments laundered through their web of front groups.

Gov. Palin shouldn't even have her lawyer respond to these "ethics" complaints any more, the new ones are just refurbished reruns of those previously filed.

stuffy July 14, 2009 6:59 PM

If she violated ethics by taking a salary while running for VP, what about McCain, Obama, & all the rest of the jokers that kept their Senate seat while running for office?

This just proves her point & shows them up to be the slugs they are.

Penny July 14, 2009 7:02 PM

Sarah just tweeted:

"Are these constant, wasteful thumped-up ethics charges result of not caving when the filer begged for job? More frivolous chrgs filed today:"

Man are these idiots helping justify resigning or what? Just how dumb are they?

wisetrog July 14, 2009 7:04 PM

OT, I know we all want her to endorse Rubio which is a bit controversial but why not endorse Toomey. He's a great conservative and is facing a GOP-backed primary challenger Gerlach.

BostonBruin July 14, 2009 7:08 PM

I bet the ankle-biters only get paid if their complaints are successful, which means they've gotten $0.00 each!

Penny - you're right! They are justifying Gov. Sarah's resignation and will help wipe away the quitter label.

Yogi41 July 14, 2009 7:09 PM

This is going to be a long 2 weeks. I know these are frivolous and we all just shake our heads at this crap, but these are racking up in costs to the state and to Palin's family. As stupid as these are, they are also immoral, IMO.

On the plus side, one of my checks to the legal fund was finally cashed today. Whoo-hoo!!! Now just waiting for the 2nd one....

hrh July 14, 2009 7:14 PM

Yogi41, that IS good news. One of the recent articles said Cole could NOT use the fund trust dollars because of the pending ethics complaint against it.

So if your check was finally cashed, maybe that complaint will soon be announced as baseless. That would be great!

techno July 14, 2009 7:17 PM

wisetrog:

This might sound too conservative but I would be happy if Sarah just made it to July 26th unscathed and without any more ethics violations filed against her and letting SarahPAC lie dormant till July 27th.

O/T, but I cannot stop laughing. Levi Johnston is now Ricky Hollywood, so Ace is reporting.

Ace got it from this site:

Meet Political Pundit, Mr. Ricky Hollywood

"A reliable source confirms that when you call Levi Johnston's phone number, you're now officially greeted by his new marketing identity in long, loud, boldly-exaggerated phrasing, YOU'VE REACHED R-I-C-K-Y ... H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D!!! As Gawker pointed out with image, he even has the tee-shirt to prove it.

The image was created in consultation with Tank Jones and presumably anti-Palin lawyer Rex Butler.

Levi Johnston, ... has hired Tank Jones, "a size-58 suit-wearing black man," to manage his career and be his bodyguard. He's also developed an alter ego to help him destroy his Wasilla-ness and fully embrace douchedom—"Ricky Hollywood.""

OT, but John Kerry is blogging against Palin at the HuffPo according to CNN:

Governor Palin: Why should I give you a job?
Andree: Because if you don't, I will make your life a living he**.
Governor Palin: Usually at that point a normal person would have given me a resume, not a threat.
Andree: I'm not a normal person.

I assume that it is new news, otherwise this would have been filed before.

Wouldn't it?

CodaCuda2012 July 14, 2009 7:37 PM

Gov. Palin should use the latest complaint to state she is stepping down effective immediately. Use the 26th as a ceremonial event. The only problem is I do not know if this can be done.

I just hate to see the good gov. bleed money and time like this. I just want it to end.

bestbud July 14, 2009 7:42 PM

When Sarah leaves office I wouldn't be surprised if the ethics charges keep coming, they very well might have a stack in waiting, all based on her activities before resigning. Just a possibility is all Im saying.

It's a time in America of unprecedented hatred, never would have believed it possible, one another destroying the fabric of our freedoms in the name of ideology and power of centuries ago.

Lipstick July 14, 2009 7:46 PM

I have stated before Palin's only mistake in resigning was not swearing Parnell in that day.

Should have done it then and been around unpaid to help with the transition.

It does help to prove the guv's point though.

**************************************
I try to be a nice person. But if I were the guv I would HAVE to send Ms. McLeod a Christmas gift.

In it I would put a card telling her how sorry I was for being mean, hateful and partisan by not giving her a job when she begged, I mean, asked for one.

I would say in my card how I was forced from office because of her courageous stand to hold me accountable and set me straight on all my unethical ways.

I would also tell her that now that I was a private citizen and traveling the country doing rallies, speeches, fund raisers and charity events that I DID have a job for her if she found it in her heart to forgive me and accept it.

I would enclose I really nice toilet bowl brush with a big bow on it saying that she can start tomorrow at my house.

Yogi41 July 14, 2009 7:49 PM

Is this Andrea the one who followed Palin into the bathroom, too?

Steven July 14, 2009 7:49 PM

Glad C4P translated that "thumped up" part because I was like "what?" Yes, the Thumpin is must reading and indeed I thinks vindicates the genuine regard she has for the state of Alaska, being caught up in this orchestrated assault on this woman to bankrupt her. All orchestrated on the national level. So far from quitting, Palin is actually going nationally to confront these tactics and so her resignation can be seen as a countertactic, to keep the state of Alaska from stalling in the imbroglio these Thumpin tactics were putting the state in. Again, no one who was critical of her decision has mentioned this book and the motives of her enemies. Here's hoping that when she gives her interviews she mentions this quite often.

wisetrog July 14, 2009 7:52 PM

OT:

I was just watching The FOX Report and at the half hour Shep mentioned Sarah's Op-ed piece.

It seemed to me that he ad libbed the teleprompter a little when he says "the article she is said to have penned in the WaPo", then the next line off the prompter says "she writes" and he hesitated saying it a little, like he does not believe Sarah wrote that piece!

I yelled at my TV WHOA YOU BASTARD!

What a little turd he is.

I recall Shep was right along with the rest of the media when Sarah was named to the ticket, covering the St. Paul MN convention.
He was irritated and incredulous that McCain could have picked someone like her and "gone around us, the reporters".

Like he is owed some sort of deference because he reads the news like a pancake faced robot.
What a jerk.

CCRWM July 14, 2009 8:22 PM

I've asked this question before and maybe the reason I've not gotten an answer is that no one knows (Upi maybe) but what if Sarah just tells her attorney not to defend her anymore and not waste a penny of her funds on responding? I understand if the State has to respond but why does Palin? Does anyone know what the "penalty" is for being found guilty of an ethics violation? If it's censure then it's a moot point now isn't it? Also now that we all know this ethics complaint filing onslaught is orchestrated by Rahm\Axelrod for Obama no one will care if that is the case.

Celtic Diva and Andree McLeod what truely sad and pathetic women.

I loved her reference to "thumped-up" charges. She's not stupid. She knows that the attacks are coming from higher up. Might as well take the fight to where it actually is, rather than remain tied down to an office where she cannot retaliate. Ann Coulter said that someone should investigate the origins of these complaints. Maybe we should email her and ask her to. She's pretty good at digging up dirt.

I've wondered the same and I don't know.

Seems to me that if it is a charge that has already been decided and they file a similar one, why would the guv need to send anything in? Wouldn't the Personnel Board do their thing and throw it out? wouldn't the lawyer they hire do his or her thing and throw it out?

Does the lawyer for the personnel board send things to Palin's lawyer they have to produce? I suppose I do not understand this.

I do know that the guv could be fined if she plead gulity, but then she could be impeached. Plus, she should not plead gulity when she is innocent.

This last one really shows how honest Sarah is. That is all they could come up with? Do they really think the GOP paid Palin? LOL.

Let's see, how many people in recent history has run for POTUS or VP while still an elected offical? That is just dumb.

I think we can all agree that these complaints are a tremendous waste of resources, both to the state of Alaska and Governor Palin personally. But, the more wacky these complaints get, the more impressive her undefeated record will be. 18-0 has a nice ring to it.

I also agree with those who have said that the continuation of these charges provide her with an increasingly strong justification for her decision to leave early. At the end of the day, these silly complaints are helping her politically, and exposing the filers for the obsessed morons they are. It would be fantastic if at some point in the future, a solid link can be found tying the complaints to Obama's team. I'm sure the link is there, but exposing it will be difficult.

One of Parnell's top priorities needs to be reform of these ethics laws. No governor, Dem, Rep, or In. should be done this way.

Sarah could not change them due to the politics of the legislature, also, it would "benefit" her and people would cry foul.

Mr. Parnell needs to do this to help AK. Who's to say that someone who just personally hates any future governor decides to do this, it would be quite easy to do to someone who is not rich.

Not sure if Mr. Parnell is independently wealthy or not, but even he could be a target to prevent him from getting Sarah's started projects finished.

MsLiberty July 14, 2009 9:23 PM

Good grief, this is absolutely INSANE! Is there not some law against this relentless hampering of state business? I mean, when you are filing the same complaint more than once, and said complaint has already been dismissed, what other purpose could it serve BUT to create a logjam? If someone interfered constantly with the ability of law enforcement to do their job, I am guessing there would be some consequence. Why not here? Andree McLeod's personal axe grinding is denying other Alaskans of their right to an efficient government. I would love to see some enterprising attorney make a name for him or herself by representing some Alaskans in a suit against this cow.

Yeah sure, she sang... bring in the clowns, or was that.. uh...bring in the clouds?

O/T - Anyone see O'Reilly tonight? I was kind of offended by Goldberg's comments.

Well Eric Boehlert, the fellow at Salon who thinks we live under some right wing propaganda ministry
(delusional right)gives credit in the Huff Po, to the Alaska bloggers
for helping force Sarah out of office:

When are Alaskans going to run these liberal bloggers out of Alaska, especially Andree? I wonder why Sarah didn't sue these people for harassment?

Juju, I find it amusing that you are complaining about trolls on this site when you yourself frequently leave comments on The Immoral Minority, a progressive blog. Hmmm... interesting... pots and kettles, glass houses and stones...

Patty Hewes July 15, 2009 2:59 AM

People leave comments on that hate site?

I am sure they will leave after Palin resigns don't worry.

kitty July 15, 2009 7:31 AM

I've contributed to The Alaska Trust Fund and wonder how much has been contributed to date?

Excellent essay up at American Thinker this morning. A Berkeley psychotherapist analyzes the freaks that are filing the ethics complaints.

Her closing paragraph:

"I look around each day and ask myself the same question, "Where are the human beings?" I see fewer and fewer each day. But there's a shining example in Alaska of a woman who maintained her integrity in the midst of cruelty that would have crushed many of us; who never descended to the level of the thugs; and who exits the scene with something that the sadists will never have, not even in their dreams -- her humanity."

Once these Democrat Socialist Party members see that their first complaints did not work, they, of course, try to DO THE SAME THING AGAIN. It's called perseveration and is seen in OCB'ers.
Makes sense to me.
ROFLMAO

Yogi41 is right people have to stop engaging the trolls. Even if you think you're cute and funny, responding to them, zinging them, mocking them, only encourages them and keeps them around. Their reason to breathe is to annoy.
