Can anyone read all of the gators? I can only make out big government, immigration reform (I think), Obama 2012, and national security. I think there are two phrase written on the second gator from the right, but I can't make out what they say.
O/T but I just checked out HotAir, and they have a post about the mysterious goo of the coast of Alaska that we've heard about the past few days. It has a link to the ADN, but the Hotair headline is "New Problem emerges that Palin's sure to be blamed for somehow".
I was thinking she only said it because it was McCain's thing and she had to go along with it. Perhaps she only supported it to an extend, but not during this recession.
Throw it back in lib friend's faces with Obama on gay rights: civil unions, and the the repeal of DADT and DOMA in particular.
As a gay guy, it's my favorite argument to present. "Democratic Congress, and the BEST PRESIDENT EVAR!!!! on gay rights!!! but yet, no repeal on DADT or DOMA."
Heads will fly. It bounces the argument back, and quite effectively, and you can watch THEM spin.
Linda: She wasn’t asked if she supports cap and trade . This is what she was asked. But I just wanted to ask you, do you support capping carbon emissions?
Sarah supports “Limiting” carbon emissions but not by cap and taxing. She clearly states in her op-ed “Can America produce more of its own energy through strategic investments that protect the environment, revive our economy and secure our nation? Yes, we can. Just not with Barack Obama's energy cap-and-tax plan.”
Also when she was running as McCain’s running mate her job is to push and promote his agenda. So anything she supported or said during the campaign was Sarah talking for McCain she didn’t necessary have to agree with everything. In my opinion that’s why I think her interviews didn’t go to well because she wasn’t very comfortable with some of answers she had to give. Like TARP she didn’t support it but McCain did so when asked about it she had to pretend that she’s for it.
I heard that she was asked about "cap & trade." Didn't realize the question was about "carbon emissions" only. I know one of my friends will throw this at me, so I needed the fireball to throw back.
Palin agrees more with Gingrich than she does with McCain. I don't think she agrees with McCain on anything, so I can agree with you that she couldn't answer certain questions because she had to shape it to his views. Glad she didn't win VP though because she deserves to win at the top of the ticket!
Linda When I get those “questions” from libs, I answer them with the facts, then I turn it around on them and with a smile on my face I ask them
Now let me ask you a question: Obama promises to accept public funding if his rival accepts it. The day after McCain announces he will accept public funding Obama announces he’s opting out. Flip Flop?
Obama promised to have the stimulus plan online for public examination for 14 days then rushes it through in 2 days without allowing even the congress to read it. Flip Flop?
During the campaign Obama attacks McCain for his straight talk in Michigan that some auto jobs won’t be coming back and promises that under an Obama administration auto jobs will increase in that state. This week he uses McCain’s own words and tells people in Michigan that many auto jobs are lost forever. Flip Flop?
That’s all you need to do and they’ll never bother you again. Plus the look on their faces is priceless.
The gov's tweet: ":side benefit=10 dys til less politically correct twitters fly frm my fingertps outside State site"
Ha, Ha! Sarah will be FREE!!!
I thought some one posted that all she had to do was to change her name on the tweeter site and she would keep her followers.
But if I read her tweets right it seems that she is starting a brand new tweeter site on July 26th, and maybe I/we will have to re-register as followers form scratch. Is this the case?
PS: I am writing this at 1:30 am on CA time and her tweet was an hour ago. The Guv never sleeps!
It is better to start a new account after she is a civilian.
The practical way is not the best way for an Alaska governor.
Yep.
"I'll stay in touch w/whomever wants via personal twtr site;launch July 26;in meantime it's pleasure to update interested folks on State biz! about 1 hour ago from TwitterBerry"
This avoids determining the rights of the state and the officeholder to a twitter account. That "novel issue" is a lawyers dream but a client's nightmare.
So, the betting pool becomes: How long until the personal account gets to 100,000 followers?
Sarah is a shoo-in for the 2012 nomination. Conventional wisdom is that Sarahs popularity should be at its lowest point, since she just took the short term hit of resigning early, and then she was supposed to reap long term benefits of being able to get her mssage out more freely. Well her "low point" has her statistically tied with Romney and Huckabee her two main rivals at this point. Once she gets things into high gear geting her message out, it stands to logical reason she will blow Romney and Huckabee out of the water. Combine that with the fact Rush basically endorsed her solidly over Romney and Huckebee. Rush is by far the single most important backer you can possibly have if you want the Republican nomination. Rush even went so far as to imply Romney and Huckabee were "guaranteed losers". Sarah I would already say is inevitable. If Romney and Huck showed up in any given city in say a 20,000 seat venue to give a speech, they would be lucky to get a few thousand to show. Sarah would fill the place. Romney and Huckabee are nothing more than garden variety political hacks with all the personality of a puddle of mud. Sarah is a true star, that is more than a mere politician. Sarah is a movement. The real battle will be with Obama. No matter how bad he screws up in the next 3 years. The messiah has his following of hopium addicts that will follow him over the edge of a cliff, and of course his African American base which will vote for him 100% regardless of whether unemployment is at 16% and he officialy changes the name to United States Socialist of America. Sarah will need to get conservative democrats to beat him. Thats the key, and I am sure with her pounding her message home for the next 3 years, that she will be able to get the job done. I also expect her to make a outside the box VP pick to help make that happen .... Possibly putting a conservative democrat on the ticket such as a Evan Bayh, or at the very least a moderate Republican like Rudy G . I have her Newt being suggested, but I think that would be the worst possible choice. I personally like Newt, but he would bring nothing extra to the ticket that Sarah would not already have locked up. Not to mention Bayh would certainly swing Indiana back in the Republican column, and Rudy G. could possibly put NY in play, ecspecially if this Health Care passes and NY gets taxed as heavily as rumored, to make a very bad situation in NY with unemployment even worse than it currently is.
You want Palin comics? I'll give you Palin comics!
Apparently, some clown has published a riff on Obama as some sort of he-man barbarian fighting off Republicans. His main enemy is "Red Sarah", a rather well-drawn version of Palin in skimpy bikini and wolfhide hiding the naughty bits. Link here. Obama will never look that buff, especially after that girly pitch in St. Lous, but Sarah looks "accurately" drawn.
PPP is an Obama-slanted polling group out of the university of nc. They will purposely weight their polls to produce the results they want.
I witnessed this during the primaries between Clinton and Obama. When they wanted everyone to believe that Obama was ahead they just added more Blacks to those polled and, voila! He's ahead.
I think this was a way to cover up the cheating that went on at the polls; we know there was cheating in NC and Indiana. But, it all looks normal if he wins because the polls said he would.
Thanks for the comic link. Someone at the FR blogs posted a pic of 'Red Sarah'. Its now saved in my PC :). Hummm.. I wonder how she got those glasses in the middle of the barbarian era.
Since Section started it, here's the cover, for the third issue, I know they mean her to be the villain, but it's more in the Princess Leia in the Third Star Wars mold;

Sarah Bunyan!
For all of you Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" fans her is a GREAT new Cuda video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQYBwrZReuQ
Cap & Trade, maybe? I saved it, and am trying to increase the size, but it just distorts it.
Whitney,
The gators say (clockwise from bottom left):
"Obama 2012"
"Nationalization"
"Media"
"Big Government"
"GOP RINOs"
"Immigration Reform"
I don't get the "Immigration Reform" one, but que sera sera.
I think the gator in the middle says immigration reform??
Stay tuned for cries of "Cartoon depicts gun-toting Palin's Obama assassination fantasy!".
Well, at least I got immigration reform! :)
Thanks for the clarification!:)
That's awesome. Facebooking it. It'll make my liberal friends' heads explode.
Do you field dress gators?
Governor Palin to Michelle Obama: Which one would you like to make your next $6,000 purse out of?
I am sure one of them is Media. I can't make out the other one. Cap n Trade maybe?
I think Sarah needs to toss a couple of sticks of dynamite over the sides.
Or, use her patented 'gator tummy rub' to tame them.
The make some new luggage out of them.
Come to think of it, a fun hunting trip with a few friendly camera men might make the libs heads double-explode !
Great work by the artist!
There she goes "Clingin' to her guns" -- Bam Bam isn't going to like this...
Awesome. I'll hang it in the underground tax shelter I'm digging in my back yard. The Obunker.
Do you have a link for the artist, Seth?
- JP
Very cool.
Question for you all...
What is your favorite Palin representation? For instance, as Superwoman, or a Pioneer woman...or something to that effect?
Uber,
I would say a combination of Annie Oakley, Dagny Taggart, and a younger version of my mom!:)

Can someone help me with this argument if presented to me by the leftwing nuts?
During the VP Debate, Palin was asked if she supported cap & trade and she says, "I do, I do."
Was McCain's cap & trade version different from Obama's? If so, how so?
Thanks.
I was thinking she only said it because it was McCain's thing and she had to go along with it. Perhaps she only supported it to an extend, but not during this recession.
linda, in the debate it was just a basic global warming question.
there was no real in depth debate in the question.
Linda:
It was clearly a McCain Campaign parrot.
Throw it back in lib friend's faces with Obama on gay rights: civil unions, and the the repeal of DADT and DOMA in particular.

the question was not about cap and trade.
It was
"do you support capping carbon emissions"
not a full context question.
Was this cartoon in a newspaper somewhere? How did you find it?
Linda:
She wasn’t asked if she supports cap and trade . This is what she was asked.
But I just wanted to ask you, do you support capping carbon emissions?

AK, yeah it was just a quick question & answer but what's the difference between that and cap & trade? thanks
Thanks, everyone! =)
I heard that she was asked about "cap & trade." Didn't realize the question was about "carbon emissions" only. I know one of my friends will throw this at me, so I needed the fireball to throw back.
Yeah, Sheya's answer pretty much summed it up.

Beware of PPP.
Their polls can have some value, but they are Democrats who want Democrats to win.

Maverick,
I've never met you, so I hope you don't take this personal.
your stream of consciousness post = hard to read
- just a couple of paragraphs,
- tiny bit of white space,
- some bullet points,
etc.
makes it a whole lot more readable.
:-)
Now the serious question is, what will she name her new Twitter account? ;)
Her own name has been taken and used so much. Got a suggestion?
