Glenn's comments were spot on. Thanks for posting this.

Glenn, tell us something we don't know.

Speaking of Glenn, us Houstonites are sad because Pat Gray, a favorite talk radio host, is leaving Houston for NYC to join Glenn's radio show next week. Maybe now I'll start listening to Glenn's show. :)

What he's saying was what I was thinking wayyy in the beginning when I first liked Sarah. I said that we need her in Washington to break the system and truly clean up government.

i wonder why these hit piece just keep coming out all of a sudden. is it because of the success the guv had this past few weeks - TC XOM deal, visit to kosovo and her rise in the polls- are they really that threaten than all they can throw at her are these made up stories?

AKReport July 2, 2009 12:57 AM

something is going on.

why would they unload so much nonsense on july 1st?

AKReport July 2, 2009 1:00 AM

there must be some inside polling going on right now that shows palin with a above 50% aproval rating.

The attacks on Palin are a preventative strategy: destroy her now before she becomes a threat. The 14 frivolous ethics complaints that were filed against her are a case in point. Though all of them were decided in her favor, this won't be mentioned by the MSM when they say "Sarah Palin's credibility was damaged by Troopergate [also resolved in her favor] and numerous ethics complaints filed against her by concerned citizens" or some such rot.

The idea is to smear her over a period of several years so that many people will unconsciously assimilate the smears as fact. Many will think that where there is smoke, there's bound to be fire. It is an effective strategy that the Left regularly uses to weaken conservative and Republican candidates.

It is our job to make the public see what is really going on.

terri July 2, 2009 1:17 AM

I really like Glenn Beck....sorry to hear he is ill and taking a few days off.
I think he really does take all this personal.
but boy saying that the Governor "can destroy the system"...I don't know, that's a pretty tall order and lots of pressure. I hope she can live up to it.

LAW July 2, 2009 1:19 AM

I have to disagree w/ Beck. They fear Sarah Palin breaking the system is wrong. The system is already broken.

They fear Sarah Palin fixing the system to what it should be - citizens serving our people and country. Get in, do your job, and get out!

Brian72 July 2, 2009 1:30 AM

I like to use the phrase "derailing the gravy train".

The system was set up just fine, but it's been perverted slowly over the years.

Get back to the Constitution, to the basic functions of Government as the Framers intended.

That is what Sarah wants to do, and if enough of the public stands with her, she can do just that.

They know this, that's why she must be demoralized and forced out before the momentum really begins.

After the 'CudaExpress gets a head of steam, you better just get out of the way.

Our leaders don't want our system to change. They like it just the way it is. They like the corruption and the broken system. They like it!!! They
don't care the American People don't like it. Obama isn't changing anything, he likes it too! In fact, he wants to destroy it more, in his favor!

Piney July 2, 2009 2:42 AM

She will do in DC what she did in Wasilla... demand a resignation from everyone. Then she will decide who stays and who goes. Then she will get on with getting on.

She has that history, so it will be nothing new. Can't you see her inviting Carla Bruni to the WH kitchen to 'fix a little snack'?

No reporters, no cameras. Those guys and gals will be busy setting the table and stuffing their faces with home cooked 'snacks': Reindeer sausage, Alaska king crab Louie, smoked salmon niblets :)

that was a good analysis.

Poor Sen McCain has some residual from his time in the Hanoi Hilton.
I think he has to believe that he can defeat anyone. That is what pulled him through those terrible years of suffering.

He can not blame himself for the loss. He has to blame someone else. The obvious answer to poor John is to blame the other person on the ticket, our wonderful Sarah.
The people around him either believe Senator McCain and want to hurt Sarah; or else they know that they have no future in the Palin Presidency and they need to hurt her to help their own careers.

I am in this for the longhaul. I will do whatever I can to help her.

Long live Sarah

Betsy July 2, 2009 3:25 AM

Sarah may surprise us all and say, no more politics. No re-election to Governor of Alaska and no run for president. I support her in whatever she decides to do.

AKReport July 2, 2009 3:36 AM

If Sarah Palin is SO silly and irrelevant, why the obsession?

Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it’s not like it’s not obvious.

And she’s been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.

And they surely have reason to fear her- Palin is the most popular governor in the country… are all those people idiots?

Alaska was a pretty corrupt system until she stepped in. Her reforms took on entrenched politicians (inc. Republicans), a mafioso-style union boss, and Big Oil.

Wouldn’t it have been nice if Obama had been principled and brave enough to confront the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine?

Or shady political operators like Tony Rezko?

Racist preachers?

Instead of doing business with every last one of them?

Go get em, Sarah- and don’t mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion-

This is a GREAT blog here... added to my blogroll today!

But could Sarah's Kool in Kosovo ever match the now Secretary of State's Bravery in Bosnia?

Beck is right on with the take that these carping criticisms are inoculating Sarah.

Law , it's a corrupt crony system, and they fear it will be broken.

hrh July 2, 2009 8:44 AM

Look how far we've come: I was just reading in Smithsonian today about John Quincy Adams' strong role in advocating for the Smithsonian - when he was in the House - AFTER having been President.

Would someone EVER go back to Congress these days after having been President?

Nope, because President has been built up to be the top dog. A personal achievement. Why lower yourself after that?

Whereas back in the day, people who wanted to serve, served wherever they could ...

Concern Troll Alert! Concern Troll Alert!

just kiddin Betsy. I'm the same. I hope she runs because I think we need her to roll back Obama/Dem madness. But if she doesn't, it won't lower my love the Arctic Fox.

techno July 2, 2009 10:44 AM

Sapwolf and Betsy:

Honestly, reflect and put yourself in Sarah's shoes: would you put yourself through this daily living hell if you did not aspire to the Presidency?

And as far as I know Sarah is not a masochist.

If you did not want to be President just tell the world you do not want to be POTUS and guess what everybody will leave you alone.

portlandon July 2, 2009 11:24 AM

why would they unload so much nonsense on july 1st?
-------------------------------------
Maybe Some internals got leaked on how much the SARAHPAC haul was?

This was an absolute choreographed media blitzkrieg assault on Palin with Willard waiting in the wings to kick off his awakening from the butt kicking he got in the '08 primaries.

All of these outlets were lock & load ready for the Palin destruction Attacks:

Huffpo
DailyKooks
CBS
Vanity Fair
HotAir
BOR

& why is Greta so silent on Palin now? Did she & her husband have a falling out with Palin?

Remember June 30,2009. It was Palin's Pearl Harbor.

why MSM or anyone would tell a Governor of the State how to govern, where to travel, how to dress or raise the children?

If MSM and "have-advise-to-everyone" columnists and bloggers are so smart - why don't they give advise to the Governors of states that are bankrupt?
