Palin Discusses “Rules for Radicals” and “The Thumpin'” on the Michael Dukes Show
Here's the audio of Governor Palin on the Michael Dukes Show earlier today. Ted Nugent called in at the start of the show and praised the governor profusely. Later in the show, the governor was asked by a caller if she had ever heard of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. She said yes, and reminded the caller of the book about Rahm Emanuel titled The Thumpin', both of which sound like a playbook for the political blood sport she endured this past year.
Take a listen:
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner has some quotes from the Michael Dukes Show:
The conversation turned to personal responsibility for individual safety and welfare.
“I think that’s why you resonate with people out there,” Dukes told Palin.
“You’re not seeing that on the national level; you’re not seeing that come out of the Obama administration,” Palin agreed. “The self-determination, opportunity for self-determination and self-reliance, we want to keep teachin’ that, preachin’ that in Alaska.”
They also talked about her resignation, which stunned people around the world. Dukes said the decision disappointed him, but he supports the governor for “unshackling” herself.
“So that I could get out there and fight without the shackles, for our state and for our country, to fight for what is right, and to support the people who have more freedom than I do evidently to be able to cast those votes and administer the policies and the laws that we need to protect our Constitution,” Palin said. “Now perhaps my decision was unpopular to some because it’s unconventional; it’s not politics as usual. ... I’m not cut out to want to waste time or waste resources. I’m going to be freer now to fight for what’s right.”
She also said it’s “odd” that she is held to different standards for her resignation, and she brought up former Juneau Sen. Kim Elton’s departure from the Legislature mid-session to take an Obama administration appointment.
“No, they don’t say boo,” she said. “Kim Elton left his constituents to go to D.C. You know why? It’s accepted to go on to move into another political position, evidently, but how about just being free to do what is right for your state and for your country? Evidently that isn’t as acceptable.”

Someone please post this on Free Republic.
Just did :-)
Wisetrog found this:
What about posting this piece about Newt if you are allowed?
If you decided to run for President in 2012, would you be open to having Sarah Palin as your running mate?

JeanA, I did not find this. Somebody else did.
o/t this clip is hillarious:

a good blog talk radio program you all might be interested in listening to - great guests too
they mostly love Sarah over there
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Central-Park-7/2009/07/12/Kicking-Back-with-Central-Park
the show starts shortly
I've posted this site there a few times
wisetrog,
Sorry.
Sarah and the "Motor City Madman" Ted Nugent! Too Awesome!
Thanks so much for posting this.
If Sarah ever were to decide not to run, she definitely has a career in radio.
She sounds great.
I don't understand why does she speak so fluently on radio but trip herself on television? Maybe it's the comfort level. She sounded amazing.
baboonking,
that video on "the economy" was hilarious !
wisetrog:
It might be a comfort factor with the topic she is discussing.
@wisetrog
Because when she is around people she knows supports her, she is more relaxed. When she is out in front of the media, who she knows all hate her, she is nervous. I would be too if I were surrounded by a bunch of people who hated my guts
I don't know if anybody else picked up on this but Sarah did not seem to be familiar with the Montana resolution regarding the 2nd amendment.
First I am not criticizing Sarah for not knowing about this since this did not concern Alaska but use it as an example of why it is important for Sarah to be freed up time-wise to keep up to speed with events all across America and the world as they unfold or rapidly appear.
Did you notice a caller to the show called Sarah 'the leader of the free world' and Obama the leader of the ? world'.
techno,
someone should write up a briefing on the 2nd Amendment and get it to her.
I agree on the studying up part, but is the Montana Resolution something that should be in her Jeopardy answer bag ?
I would just like to say, I like Ted Nugent's word numbnutness. This is a great word for all of the troll's idiocy.
I think the reason she sounds so much better is because she just slows down. Sometine I think she tries to talk to fast and that may be from nervousness.
Go back and look at the 2 interviews Sarah did the day of the AGIA announcement.
The first with Matt Lauer who we know doesnt support Sarah, she spoke slowly. Maybe because it was real early in the morning and she was still sleepy. Who knows?
The second with Wolfy Blitzer she started talking real fast again and she sounded nervous.
On the other hand, I have heard her on the radio a couple times and she does seem to have a comfort level more so on radio then on TV. She'll get better though.
My mom pick up on something I did not notice Gov. Palin rarely calls Obama President.
Gov. Palin know how to play the game and her actions on the 3rd were part of her playbook. Never defence but always offence.
The first time I heard Gov. Palin mention the "Book" I know exactly what she meant. Taht was about five months ago. I have no concern about Gov. Palin not knowing what to do. She is crazy like a fox.
What a great interview. Thanks so much for posting it. It's great to hear from her.
CodaCuda2012:
I noticed that several months ago. Sarah will refer more often to the 'Obama administration' than use the name President Obama. But when it is hardcore political in nature it's only Obama.
Techno: this is really reaching.
I liked the part she injected about the Judiciary interpreting the Constitution rather than making law -- she used the discussion to get some key points in. She knows what's coming next week re the Sotomayor confirmation hearings -- and, seeing Sarah out there, not holding back, I'm hoping she SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSES SOTOMAYOR! (sp?)
Techno,
I have a feeling there is just a little destine their.
Sorry about that little dust up.
Gack, yeah, Techno, I agree with Sandra.
Let's pull back on the Jesus analogies.
How bout, she's a sexier Maggie Thatcher? And Maggie was one hot dame!
Techno, I love you and your usual analysis, but making comparisons between Palin & Jesus.......let's not go there.
-----------------------------------
I am STOKED about listening to Sarah on the radio. She really sounds in her element, and hope she does in studio spots with Rush, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, etc. She really shines on the radio. I hope she does radio addresses like Reagan did.
The Free Republic crowd LOVED it too. God Bless Sarah Palin!!!
Ted,
It is only natural Gov. Palin is a strict constitutionalist.
Techno,
I mean this kindly and sincerely. Sarah's pretty great, but there is no comparison between her and Jesus. Please don't do that. It is not reverent, and it mimics the cultists of Obama.
On another note, it doesn't really say much, but Foxnews is posting an AP story on the radio show appearance.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/10/palins-post-governor-game-plan-fight/
Unless Jesus the Christ comes down to appear on Firearms Friday with Michael Dukes, we should avoid the whole Jesus H. Christ/Sarah H. Palin comparison thingy.
Let's not and say we did.
However, we can compare Jesus to Ted Nugent and see if that flies. I'm not terribly sure that the Lamb of God would be into "Kill It and Grill It", however.
This was over at FR. I read this and just LOL.
"Notice in the interview she never refers to Obama as “President Obama” she just calls him Obama..NICE, she is sending a message to Obama and his entire Marxist Administration. I don’t consider Obama my President either"
Lakerfanalways was that you?
Sarah and Ted...
****Awesome!*****
I think this pic is representative of Sarah from now on... from her signing in Fairbanks today.
She looks like a warrior ready for battle!

A little over thetop, there,Techno, but she really understands the long game we've been debating for so many months now. Citing Alinsky and the Thumping, which a precis on the Axelrod Soros method in action. Yes I like to show off that I went to a private high school, and university, but most of my knowledge has come up independently, Let's just say she's certainly in the mold of Bowie, Crockett, Houston, and other American heroes and pioneers.
That's why she resonates among folks, who understand the reality of the Constitution and the
freedoms that it guarantees and those aren't 'negative rights'. She doesn't need to study up, they need to learn, what our country is really all about.
Today I drew a (ahem, even if I do say so myself) a very nice graphic depiction of Sarah Palin.
Please feel free to use it if you like. Here's the link:

Loved the interview.
the guv sounded great. She does speak slower on radio. She will be great with Rush, Laura and Ann.
I also liked that all the calls were so supportive. That had to really be an encouragement and a boost for her emotionally after what she has gone through.
Techno:
Consider removing the Jesus comparison. That is just not right and the governor would die if she saw it. Not picking on you , I'm just saying....
defendamerica,
Check out my pic icon. That is a screen shot from the 3rd. You can tell Gov. Palin has that devilish smile which tells me she can't wait.
@CodaCuda2012
Yeah that was me, I am known as Sarah Barracuda over there on FreeRepublic
Lakersfanalways:
I knew that was you I was just messing with you. I play Clyde5445 over there but I am not a Clyde.
Wow, FANTASTIC interview. Sarah, you are my leader !!
*big grin*
She called Texas "our sister state"
great interview.
huckabee is a goon. lol poor newt can't get past 13%
sarah will give an interview with greta and hannity when she gets done.
@CodaCuda2012
Are you Alaskan too?
Gov. Palin sounded better because she was in the studio and not on the phone.
Great interview - thanks for posting it up!
It is apparent that the Gov. and her team have been studying up on the tactics of the other side. They were blindsided with these attacks during the campaign and in the following months, but now they are obviously armed with greater knowledge of they type of 'movement' they are dealing with.
The game, and the power, are shifting to the Governor's turf. You can hear in her voice that she's ready to get out there!
@CodaCuda2012
AWESOME nice to see you here too. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Sarah has been twittering a lot today. She is addicted to that twitterberry of hers :-) She just twittered another message now about the bill she signed today
Good stuff.
Also glad she's reading up on Alinsky & Emmanuel. Hope she's got Levin's latest too.
They're probably nothing but rumors, but I'd like to go on record now as saying that Palin SHOULD NOT do a talk show.
It would diminish her as a "serious" candidate for POTUS, and over-expose her. The ratings would be huge at first, then it would become boring and predictable.
Palin can do interviews, speeches, write op-ed pieces, or pretty much anything else she wants right now.
You know why Bruce Springsteen concerts were such a big deal in the 70s? Because he wasn't on TV every week.
MWN...I've not heard of any serious suggestion that Palin would take on a talk show. Has anyone else?
Besides that, she's already said she's going to help candidates campaign and I don't think she could do that if she held a full time job.
Mwn , she could do once a week specials , to show presence and comment the week . Not daily blabbering , it's hard to fill that with material.
We're on it, Rebecca!
Johan Hex,
what did you mean by
>>We're on it, Rebecca!
It sounds like something I might like to get going on, but came into the room too late and missed what "it" is.
Thanks.
Palin makes excellent use of Twitter.
Don't think she is "addicted" to it.
She's just trying to keep us all informed and updated.
Al,
yes, she is excellent on Twitter (and therefore extend this to technologically savvy).
The new media will help us TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.
People are turning to the computer and away from the TV and seeing a different story.
Or perhaps they are comparing TV to the internet and wondering, "Why is there such a discrepancy? "
Al,
also, the new media allows people to see what they choose and when they choose and not be spoon fed.
Last night on Fox News 7pm, there was an entire segment on a pool in the Philadelphia area that was charged with racism.
"Racial slurs were heard at the pool", things along those lines.
Now this is egregious, I'll admit, and shouldn't happen.
But to rise to the level of a national news segment? How does that happen?
I wish Sarah would get one of her kids or staff members to do more with her facebook page. She has WAY more followers there and could send her same twitter updates out through facebook and reach way more people.
TWO WORDS: Awesome interview.
THREE WORDS: Looking forward now.
THREE WORDS: January twentieth, 2013.
"Heavy litigation" "using the courts" Rules for Radicals conversation was very informative.
"The Thumpin'"........."how to destroy an opponent"...who wrote this book?
Everyone should read "The Thumpin'".
Get ready for the The Thumpin and Rules for Radicals for the next 3+years.
November 2012....
Rahm.....get ready for a thumpin'....Conservative style!!
Al, I agree!
With the time difference there are always a few tweet updates from her on my phone when I wake up.
Today I woke up to:
'Caution w/new "short-term 1-time only" Stimulus Pkg programs:"The nearest thing to eternal life we'll see on earth is a govt program"-Reagan"
"Problem w/Professional Politicians:They're more concerned w/holding a title in perpetuity than just accomplishing goals they promised voters"
Pretty good way to start the day, if you ask me.
Favorite Quote From The 2008 Campaign:
"The only fuc*ing reason I don't move to Sweden is because of Sarah Palin"
-Ted Nugent
I'm willing to come back home next year to work on Sarah Palin's campaign for the presidency. I'd quit the job here in Asia like a shot and do everything to help the Cuda beat the UnAmerican Wimpy Radical. Sarah, if you're running, let me know.
KentonAK talk about jumping from the frying pan int the fire - Sweden has moose they call them elk, but socialist.
