UPDATED: Gov. Palin's Picnic in Fairbanks
Check back here for updates on Gov. Palin's picnic and farewell speech in Fairbanks as the afternoon and evening go on. KTUU will be live streaming from the event, and C-SPAN will also cablecast the transfer of power. It's likely that more news organizations will carry the speech live, so we'll add more links as we see them.
For now, here's the governor's tweet from this morning:
Beautiful Frbnks morn;cabinet members here w/me & LtGov to serve @ picnic, then changing of guard ceremony;Great to be in Golden Heart City!
UPDATE by Tim: For any of our readers in Fairbanks (I know we have a few), drop us a line at editor@conservatives4palin.com - especially if you can send pictures. (Bonus points for Jay Ramras pics!)
For our other readers, let us know if you spot photos on Flickr, Twitter, or wherever, so we can link them or request permission from the photographers to post them.
UPDATE II by Tim: We're temporarily Twitter-following reporters that are up in Fairbanks for the event. Right now we know of Neal Karlinsky of ABC and Chris Welch of CNN. We've heard that Matthew Simon of KTVA is there but he doesn't seem to be updating his Twitter feed.
If you guys know of any other Journo-tweeters up there, let us know. C4P's Twitter is here, for those who are unaware of it. We hope to someday reach 1% of the number of followers that the Gov has.
Looks like Mark Bowers and Tiffany are tweeting the event too. So is Adrienne.(h/t Rachael)
UPDATE III by Tim: We just got our first photo of today's event in Fairbanks:

Interesting Tweets from Mark:
OMG THE BEST EVER protester totally punked by Sarah's mom!
he had no idea until the end, and she was so polite
I had spoken to him too , but all he had was she was gone during campaign 08 otherwise empty
Looks like most contentious picnic yet!
Another pic from the event:

More from Mark:
PDS Protestors now gathered into a pathetic little clot. 4 signs. Maybe 8 people (being generous)
Yet have seen camera crews go over to see them 10 times. More interviews than protestors
And this from Karlinsky:
Palin's personal advisor says stepping down isn't the end--but the beginning of "new chapter" where she'll be even more visible.
Here's a photo of some "protesters":

Actually, Neal Karlinksy has tweeted a pic of the gigantic anti-Palin "protest". Look and laugh, look-and-laughers!
Sean Cockerham posts at the ADN Alaska Politics Blog:
Hundreds of people are waiting in line for one last chance to meet Sarah Palin as governor and get a free lunch.
Palin, who is handing out salmon burgers again today at the third and final governor's picnic, is scheduled to give her resignation speech at 3:18 p.m. Alaska time. Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be sworn in to replace her.
The atmosphere at Pioneer Park is festive. People are here to see Palin, check out the Alaska State Barbecue Championships or look at the old river sternwheeler Nenana or the replica Gold Rush town.
It’s a sunny, pleasant day, with the temperature pushing 80 degrees.
Jonathan Martin of Politico is also tweeting from Fairbanks:
many palin signs, pro and con, in fbx. much verbal back and forth but no fisticuffs (yet). another strong out of state contingent
Crowd shot:

Kim Murphy at the LA Times has coverage as well.
UPDATE by Mel: Video of Gov. Palin's farewell address here.

Look at this adorable picture of Sarah and Trig from yesterday..... so darn sweet.

Watch out world. The barracuda is about to be set free!
C4P,
Thank you all for everything you are doing for Sarah.
I appreciate all your effort in getting out the TRUTH.
I always come here for the full story and facts.
Thanks again and keep up the GREAT WORK for Sarah.
Blessings, Irma
Anne,
Where did you find that picture (the original website post)? Can you link me the post that it was in?
Mel -
I found it on a friend's livejournal. I have no idea where it came from originally, I'm sorry! I do believe that's the original size, though.
thanx for pic!!! soooooo cute!!
The pic is on Team Sarah I think :)
Lorna - I just replied to your tweet about the image! (I follow you, by the way! Love your tweets.)
Oh, here's the source (adn): http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/v-gallery/story/876536.html?/1521/v-section_front/gallery/876741-a876715-t3.html
I've got a stack of hankies ready. I believe I am going to cry like a little girl.
Thanks, guys.
Okay, here's one more I found...what the heck is that on Piper's head? Blue and Pink hair - love it!
http://i26.tinypic.com/zjbdrc.jpg
Mel, it's number 19 of the 47 photos that ADN posted from the Anchorage picnic. I'm unable to copy the link, but you'll find it along with a lot of other great photos.
Jay Ramras is God!
There. I said it.
Someone had to.
aktiff08 & akmark08 (usernames) are tweeting from the picnic with info and pics.
Anne , i don't think it's piper.
My, Piper is going all out for the celebration! Go Palins!
"Harris, who is seeking to challenge Parnell for governor, said he thinks Palin will run for president in 2012, but said he has no inside information.
Stapleton said the answer will emerge in the coming weeks.
On Monday, "we'll sit down and say, 'OK, here are your options. How do you now want to effect that positive change for Alaska from outside the role as governor?'" Stapleton said."

I don't think that was Piper. It didn't look like her, plus the child had black hair, Piper doesn't have black hair, she has light brown hair. I am gonna cry like a baby today too watching her speech, it will be so sad and exciting all at the same time. I just want Sarah to do what she feels is right for her, whatever she decides to do I will support her because she is a wonderful human being, we are all glad to have had the opportunity to know her, she is something special
Are they going to be open about their intentions so early in the game?
I'm pretty sure it is Piper - because here she is in her mom's Ford Expedition leaving the picnic:
http://i29.tinypic.com/2iht8av.jpg
If any of ya'll are members of Team Sarah, you can see more photos of the Palin family at Elise's page:
http://www.teamsarah.org/photo/album/show?id=2330231%3AAlbum%3A1497809
So Jon Stewart isn't there? From Karlinsky's twitter it looks like they sent someone else from the Daily Show. Seems predictable, I can already play out the segment in my mind. Goes like: interview picnic-goers - ask silly questions - make people look stupid - LOL ALASKA lol Sarah Palin - the end.
Looks like you're right Anne.
That's not Piper, here's Piper: http://i29.tinypic.com/11ukhnn.jpg
Anne,
ROFL, that pic is hilarious! She's showing off the Sith-Lord death-grip Darth Cheney taught her.
Her and the other girl have matching jackets & both came with the Gov's entourage I think, but I'm not sure who it is.
What time is the picnic scheduled to begin? I'd like to try to get c-span on my computer...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Thanks to everyone who makes this site happen; I come here before I go to my own blog just to find out what's happening with Sarah. Great job, great website.
@wisetrog
Yeah I think it would be a mistake to come out so quickly with their intentions because if she announces she is running the media will make her life an even bigger hell then it already is. I think she should just travel the country, speak out against Obama, and see what happens, if he continues to tank, by this time next year, she can announce her intentions
I am looking at that photo and it doesn't look like Piper to me, maybe my eyes are going but I always thought Piper has light brown hair, unless she dyed her hair. Either way she is gorgeous!
Rachael,
if it's not Piper then both girls have the same jacket. I think it is Piper and she had something done with her hair.
For those of us who have not been following the details as closely as we should have, how about a "scorecard" giving names and positions?
Ha, here's Piper before the crazy hair-do! Same jacket/same shirt... pretty sure it's her! :) I just love her personality.
http://i29.tinypic.com/wv7c51.jpg
Ahhh RINO, you might be right. That makes sense. :)
Piper has a Double? Sullivan will break down.
A hair-coloring booth was set up at the Anchorage picnic yesterday. Perhaps Piper wanted to be color coordinated with her mother's bright-purple jacket.
If you want one more aggravating Jay Ramras moment, go to KTVF-TV (CBS-TV in Fairbanks),
www.webcenter11.com.
Jaybird is in typical form, bad-mouthing Governor Palin in a really mean-spirited way (especially compared to the two Democrat legislators who are interviewed). What a condescending, arrogant jackass!
The video is on the right side of the home page. Scroll down a ways and then click when you see Sarah Palin's face. The report was actually done earlier last week.
Bet ya Jaybird goes around making himself available today to any and all national media (particularly network TV) so that he can castigate the Governor and get his mug on national TV.
I repeat, what a jerk!
Todd needs to take him behind a building and just beat the you-know-what out of him. That's what a guy like him deserves. He has no class at all, yet thinks he's God's gift to Alaska and probably to women.
Shame that his hometown is the host of today's ceremony.
Now do you want to know how I really feel?
Slightly OT, but I think we should temper down our expectations for Sarah Palin after she is "free" in just a few short hours.... I suspect she'll keep pretty quiet for a couple weeks... relax, enjoy her family... I think she deserves it.
So people here shouldn't be too worried if she sort of disappears for a little while, imho.
Someone interviewed Todd yesterday & he said they were going to "regroup and relax" or something to that effect. Sorry, can't remember where I read it.
Seems like there's probably a reason they took the camper up there, yeah?
No shame in cryin', wisetrog.
And, I'm not buying that 'cuda doesn't have a well designed plan already. I think she's playing it close to the vest, as she should.
And, she should keep it to herself for the foreseeable future.
Let 'em squirm and sweat, as the public curiosity grows.
I think we should all donate to SarahPac today as a show of support. Let today have a HUGE surge of donations for our favorite Gov!
Brian , i think she will do more than we should expect from her even this early. But as you say , she cant go all out like Sanford...
The first fight is about 2010, not next week.
This just in from twitter: akmark08 - "OMG THE BEST EVER protester totally punked by Sarah's mom!"
Now that I would like to see.
Everyone who can donate to her Pac please do so today, that way we are sending them a message. She already raised more then a million bucks, the more the merrier
THANK YOU FOR THE REPORTS!!!
@Rachael
It's kinda funny isn't it. She is resigning today, and Obots are out protesting, they wanted her gone, yet they have to show up and show their stupid selves. Can't satisfy an Obot
I would start checking the news channels around 7:OO PM (est). I thinks the show will start around then. If not CSPAN will have a tape delay at 10:00 PM (est).
"So people here shouldn't be too worried if she sort of disappears for a little while, imho."
It's all good (as long as she doesn't pull a Sanford). I hope she takes some "me" time, God knows she deserves it. I think this is apropos for the situation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVNK_VDQY8I
FOX just went live to the picnic for a sec, waiting on the Gov & then I think they'll have it live?
I'm getting excited.
Lakerfan,
I checked Diva's twitter page a few times today and I swear I can smell the desperation. Every two seconds it's like "SHE DID THIS!" "PALIN!" "LOOK HOW MUCH SHE SUCKS" ... I think her impending irrelevance might be getting to her.
Fox has Dan Springer there I saw him in the am.
Anyone wondering if Governor Palin is going to announce a run for Presidency in 2012 should relax. That will almost certainly not happen until the spring of 2011. In fact, there are arcane financing laws such that candidates usually refrain until the last minute to avoid running into spending limits.
The only thing I know of on the schedule is the speech at the Reagan Library. I suspect the big job for next week is to start building the calendar for the next two or three months which means getting in touch with people and accepting their invitations.
While Governor Palin will probably want some family time and not jump right on an airplane, I can't imagine her not actively putting plans into place right away. Active people can't stand too much down time.
Anne,
Same :) I planned on getting things done before the speech came on but I'm too anxious to move.
That Reagan thing still has not been confirmed.
Hey! CNN just pushed the WaPo poll again! The anchor said this was directly related to her resignation. Their political analyst said she is EXTREMELY divisive! She is losing support in her base! Republicans don't want her to campaign for them!
Same old bullshit... this whole weekend has been one unending beatdown by the media...
When will this crap ever end?
I think the protesters are stupid. We got what we wanted. Let her have her last day in peace.
@Brian Davidson
Did they mention Obama's NEGATIVE 11 polls today. They keep on bringing up the Washington Post poll yet they don't bring up Obama's PATHETIC polling numbers. Wanna know how pathetic CNN is, they claim the Washington Post poll is the reason why she is resigning, really, the poll came out a few days ago, Sarah resigned on July 3rd. Did she have a premonition or something LOL Maybe she is psychic and can see the future
So, how many people do you think will say she was rambling in her speech that she gives today?
@Dee
I hope Sarah says the protesters there are "acting stupidly" LOL
@Dee
I believe Ann Coulter nailed it: media pundits have their opinion on the speech ready before Palin even delivered it.
Nobody's going to know from day to day what Sarah's going to do, unless she wants people to know. The smartest way to beat the meida is to keep everything close to the vest & keep them guessing. That keeps her front and center, because they all want to be the one that gets the sccop!
Frankly, I love how she's handling them. This is one smart lady!!
Thanks, C4P for everything you do to keep us informed and up to date. There's nowhere else to be for everything Palin!
@ZH
Reminds me of the VP Debate with Biden, they proclaimed her the loser before the debate even started..gotta love media objective reporting LOL..Yep no bias there
I swear, if I hear one more dimwitted, uninformed talking (bobble) head mention that ABC/WaPo poll my head's gonna explode.
I mean really, how dumb do they think we are? It's the equivalent to polling ten 5-year-olds in a playground. Only, I'd give more credence to the tots.
Since I don't watch any of the other cable news shows that you guys are complaining about, I can report that Fox IS reporting the Rasmussen poll today; in fact, Banderas is interviewing Scott Rasmussen right now and they're talking about his low and sinking poll numbers.
Plus, Julie Banderas wants a salmon burger from Sarah Palin. :)
@LakerFanAlways
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! "I don't have all the details, but the protesters are acting stupidly."
LakerFanAlways:
The disinformation and propaganda of CNN and MSNBC is geared to three groups:
1)drones (Obamatrons)
2)blacks and Hispanics
3)liberals and socialists
That is why conservatives and Sarah supporters must not watch either cable station unless they are the only network carrying one of Sarah's speeches or interviews.
@Yogi41
I LOVE Julie Banderas. She totally punked that drunken murderer Rick Sanchez yesterday. It was AWESOME. Don't mess with Julie. I follow her on twitter too, she should have gone up to Alaska, I bet Sarah would have made her a nice salmon burger
the Reagan thing was scheduled long before she announced she was resigning ,it's a private party ,no press ,invitation only event ,she isn't getting paid for it but they are paying for her travel , room ,they are getting more press about this event then they were ever expecting
Yogi,
Did Scott let everyone know that she's within six of the Messiah?
red fox, July 26, 2009 4:52 PM
I mean really, how dumb do they think we are? It's the equivalent to polling ten 5-year-olds in a playground. Only, I'd give more credence to the tots.
Actually, 'we' are pretty dumb... it is only small percentage of us who seek out information in other ways... most of the MSM viewership will buy it hook, line and sinker.
Fox News is a mixed bag. Find out the hosts who are fair and balanced or conservative and make a point of watching them and turn out the rest.
Hannity and Glenn Beck are a must. Until Greta betrays Sarah I would count her in as well although she is not a true conservative.
Man, her hair looks so thin...........I think it is falling out. She must have a wig on!
/sarc
What are the protesters doing at the picnic?? Just signs or are they making a big scene??
I love that tweet about Sarah's mom and the protester. It sure does sound like something Sarah would do. : )
Tommy,
No, they didn't discuss Sarah; just Obama and his tanking numbers. :)
Tommy,
It was in another segment that Julie mentioned she wanted a salmon burger and she wanted Sarah to serve it to her.
"I swear, if I hear one more dimwitted, uninformed talking (bobble) head mention that ABC/WaPo poll my head's gonna explode."
I have a clue for you. It is like the one I gave my California born-and-raised son-in-law.
He called one evening in what sounded to me like a panic, worried about the "RADAR" pictures and the scary screeching of the local weather" experts during a fairly routine thunderstorm-with-tornado concerns.
"What should I do!!!!!??!!! he cried.
My answer: Turn the TV off!
(I also told him that if could hear the sirens, he should go to the basement near an interior partition and think about the fact that the house he was in had been there about a hundred years.)
I wish somebody would tell the media they are covering a politically dead nobody.
I want to say thank you for everything your site does to get the truth out about Sarah. Her mistreatment by the press, other women, and fellow Republicans has been astonishing to me. I have never seen such hate directed at anyone—let alone, someone who has done as much good as she has. Thank you for giving those of us who still cherish truth, and goodness, a place to visit.
Here's a tweet from Andrea Tantaros.
Good she is always good when she talks about the Guv.
I'll be on the Fox Report tonight at 7pm doing live reaction to Palin's speech.
4 minutes ago from web
akmark08:
PDS Protestors now gathered into a pathetic little clot. 4 signs. Maybe 8 people (being generous)... Yet have seen camera crews go over to see them 10 times. More interviews than protestors
Figures.
Larry Sheldon:
The expression is 'grasping at straws' or 'clinging to a life preserver'.
Obama is sinking faster than a man in quicksand and headed for the abyss once the Sarah Palin express gets on the road in the lower 48.
Check out ABC NealKarlinsky's tweet.
Meg must be there.
Palin's personal advisor says stepping down isn't the end--but the beginning of "new chapter" where she'll be even more visible.
less than a minute ago from TwitterBerry
"Actually, 'we' are pretty dumb... it is only small percentage of us who seek out information in other ways... most of the MSM viewership will buy it hook, line and sinker."
nope.. sorry.. I completely disagree with this statement.. maybe in 2004 I can say most people watched and more importantly beleived the MSM.. but trust me when I say a good high majority of people do not any longer.
I can assure you Hillary supporters certainly no longer trust the MSM... and we saw those lies perpetuated by MSM agn Sarah.
in 2004 I would have agreed with your statement.. in 2009.. nope. Sarah is wise to side step the MSM... they are part of the corruption at this point.
--Palin dem.
What exactly are these protesters protesting?
That she's leaving? Wouldn't that be their dream scenario?
Or are they protesting because she won't be around anymore to be kicked around?
Or is it because they know they have pushed her onto the national stage even earlier, and isn't that what caused their whole dillussional hatred to begin with?
Nancy
I don't think they know. They were summoned to be there by the higher ups but don't know exactly what to do.
They are probably trying to decide who is going to yell something out and who should call the big bosses to find out what exactly they are protesting.
Nancy, the protesters are not "clear thinkers." They are not even smart enough to have a plan or think ahead. They are mindless drones who can barely put forth a logical argument.
Figures the media would grovel to the 4 idiots who showed up. We all know the media are spokespeople for the DNC, they don't even pretend to be objective anymore. At least fake it, nah they can't even fake it anymore. I'm surprised they don't come out and wear "GO OBAMA" T-Shirts
The Fox host just announced that they will be carrying Palin's speech LIVE on Banderas's show at 7:00 p.m. Banderos seems pretty jazzed about it!!
And Tantaros for the respones, woo hoo!!!
respones = response
Now how can Governor Palin start a new chapter when she doesn't read? I think that is an ethics complaint right there!
I have never seen one single poll quoted as much as that goofy WaPo/ABC poll in the past three days. Of course, it fits the MSM talking points.
It is certainly aggravating to us ordinary barbarians, but, on the other hand, if the Governor's numbers stay high in the other polls, they can be highlighted the next time they come out and her supporters can say what an amazing jump Sarah Palin has made in such reliable polls as Rasmussen and Pew at the same time as stepping down from the Governor's post. Just shows what strong popularity she really does have across the nation!
Can you imagine if Sarah and Meg and Todd had been planning and executing the news-media aspects of her VP campaign last fall -- instead of the horrible McCain incompetents who made no effort to really understand her attributes and her experience -- what a different perception many people would have right now of Governor Palin?
You know, I read or heard one time after the election that Governor Palin said some of the McCain handlers treated her more like a candidate's wife rather than the candidate herself.
No respect for the 'Cuda. Wonder what they will be thinking two or three years from now?
I guess I should be glad I can't be there, because if I was anywhere near those idiot protesters, I'd probably wind up in jail. I don't thnk I could keep from telling them exactly what I think of them!
Protesting at a picnic where they get what they want??
I think they are protesting the end of their relevance.
Here's a brain twister for you.
Governor Palin who doesn't want to leave the governorship is upbeat and having a great time at these picnics.
The PDSers who hate her and want her to leave are mad and all grumpy.
Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Yogi,
did you see Julie Banderas' tweet about Rick Sanchez yesterday? Sanchez was tweeting sh!t about Fox: "do u know how much money i’d make if i’d sold out as hispanic and worked at fox news, r u kidding, one problem, looking in mirror"
Banderas reply: "As a wise Latina woman, I have no comment other than to say if I were Rick Sanchez, I wouldn’t look in the mirror, period."
LOL, she managed to hit Sanchez and Sotomayor with one shot.
@wilsonpickett
If anyone would actually read the poll, it is not bad at all. Sarah did very well as far as her being trustworthy(she won that 54-40 percent and she also did well about if you share the same beliefs that she has, and she did very well there too. The only two poll questions that she did not do well on have NOTHING to do with not liking her, it had to do if they felt she was experienced enough to be President of the United States, that is where she did not do well on. So as far as the media stating that people don't support Sarah anymore, that is NOT the case, just some don't believe she is experienced enough to be President, and that can change in time, she just has to speak out more, and get her message across. So all in all, the Post poll was not bad at all.
Lakers,
She also performed very well for a Republican on the question having to do with "understands your problems." Republicans always get slammed on those type of empathy questions and the fact that she's around 50% is pretty good for a Republican.
Re: Grumpy protestors.
Sarah should take them each a salmon burger.
Techno:
Axelrod and his buddies at the Washington Post and at ABC (like Little Georgie Boy Snuffleufagus) have probably been congratulating themselves this weekend because I'm sure they planted the seed for the WaPo/ABC poll to come out just prior to this weekend.
But let's see who has the last laugh!
@TommyReport
EXACTLY. So the media loves to spin it and say that people don't support her anymore, that is NOT the case. There is a difference between liking someone and thinking they are qualified to being the commander in chief. I don't even know if Sarah herself thinks she can run the country right now. Look at our country right now, its in shambles. I don't think God himself can fix what is going on right now. Look what so-called experienced Obama has done in 6 months. Does Sarah need more experience, sure she does, more experience cant hurt, and she is very young and I think right now the most important thing for her to do is keep on focusing on her message of Conservatism and going across the country. Speak out at tea parties, that is how she is gonna get her message out
OT:
I just received this personal email from Sarah:
"I want to send you a quick note thanking you for your donation for my new PAC. Your help is essential to help fund my activities supporting Republican candidates and causes across this country.
"With your help and support,we can turn this country of ours around."
-Thank you and God Bless,Sarah
(And yes,I DO know its a computer-generated response to my donation to SarahPAC today..But it was STILL great!)
RINO-hunter,
Yeah, that was a great response from her. Sanchez is tweeting again - thinks he struck a nerve, therefore, what he said must be true. Jerk! Ooops, I mean .... killer!
President Obama tweet:
Doesn't anyone want to know what I am doing today? Workn n the veggie garden.
I didn't get one :( but I the last time I donated was in June so maybe that's why. Perhaps this is a new kind of email she is sending out
Axelrod tweet:
la la la la la la not discussin her la la la la la not listenin to her la la la la not watchin her la la la
@Nancy
HAHA there goes Obama, acting stupidly again, I think he just coined a new catch phrase
I have the same green jacket she has on! It's a North End Sport! I always knew she had good taste!
Thanks C4P for all the positive coverage of Gov. Palin. and "Hell Yeah"...
Tim....I believe you have stated in the past that you are a puma (please correct me if I am wrong) and I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how big the puma mnovement is. Obviously, every vote counts and helps but are there enough pumas to really make a difference for Sarah against Obama IF that were to emerge as reality?
People are actually protesting her resignation? I thought they didn't want her as Governor? And now they're upset that she's not going to be their Governor?
They just can't make up their minds.
Nancy, BO is golfing. I kid you not. Time's The Page shows him golfing... Probably can't stand to be near a TV today. ;)
BHO golfing.
Makes sense, since he is now the reigning medical expert.
Anyone else feel as excited as they did before the RNC speech?? I'm a little giddy!
Hey, Dan - actually I'm not a PUMA, I'm a libertarian. I do think she has tremendous potential to make inroads among libertarians.
A lot were turned off by the "religious fanatic" caricature the MSM painted of her last year. They will come back around when they realize she is a small-government fiscal con.
Sorry, I meant the other Tim NOT Tim Lindell. His name just shows up as Tim.
hrh,
Ah, golfing! Thank you! I hope no one tells him Governor Palin has a countdown clock on CNN. Fore!
I was talking to the commenter "TIM" who said he was a "palin dem." Im just curious how many pumas are out there.
Dan C, I am not Tim but I am a PUMA. It was reported that 8 million Hillary Clinton supporters voted for Palin/McCain. That was the infuriating thing; we did our part but the Republicans stayed home and didn't vote. If they would have vote, he would have lost. 8 mill is enough to swing an election.
Karlinsky report now on ABC News ...
Puma for life, thanks. I guess it is impossible to know for certain, but that was my take as well. I kept hearing anecdotes about hillary voters voting for mccain and palin, but never knew if it was big enough to make a difference. If it was that many and millions of conservatives stayed home that is very interesting. It would have been tough anyway with the stock market blowing up and the corrupt media, but ya never know. I hope those pumas stay ready to fight in the future against Obama, because the country needs them in the worst way.
Flipped over to NBC right after Karlinsky and O'Donnell was finishing up her report so I missed it.
But that means the politically dead, irrelevant star of Dead Housewives from Wasilla was the top story on all the evening broadcasts ...
Loving how all these people flew up to cover the event and Palin's ignoring them.
Though Karlinsky did get a few words from Todd.
hello everyone , longtime lurker, first post :could that be pipers' cousin, Mckinley ?
i remember this picure that was recently posted in another thread here. they have on the same dresses.

I just made another donation to SarahPAC, and I got a personal email from Sarah thanking me for my contribution. Wow, she really does know how to multitask! ;-)
On the pictures of good looking kids--I'd go with the earlier colored-hair-girl pictures is the cousin, not Piper.
[begin test]
But look, in the 2007 pictures, how THIN Sarah's hair is!
[This has been a sarcasm-detector sensitivity test.]
Sarahnormal, awesome signs!
Darn-it-all and Goddess Bless! My camera card maxed out on video before end of GREAT LOOOOONG speech just as Sarah told sign waving hecklers they could thank the military for their Freedom of Speech!
Somebody asked "what stuff did the media make up?"
I was thinking about that, and basically you can summarize it as follows:
They made up a caricature of Sarah that was not who she is.
They reported on her like she was really the character created by Tina Fey.
They did not report her real reform efforts. They did not report how she stood up to the most powerful people in her state and in her party, and that she took a moral stand that could have doomed any chance to advance.
They spent more time reporting about her tanning bed, her per diems, her pregnancy, and her wardrobe, than they did on the 2.6 billion pipeline negotiations she lead.
And then when they wrote about the pipeline deal, they slanted it to make it look like Sarah had not done an effective job, when before she was picked for VP, they couldn't praise her enough.
She couldn't win!
I'll compare it to this:
Sarah is a beautiful eagle flying against the Alaska blue sky. And the national media said:
Yeah, but she can't swim!
That's the illusion they created. Instead of reporting on Sarah the Eagle, they told us all about Sarah's failure to be a fish.
Now's she free to fly. And we all get to watch her.

A correction to your otherwise excellent post.
It's a 26 billion (not 2.6 billion) dollar Gas Pipeline partnership that Gov Palin skillfully negotiated between Exxon and TransCanada.
(When completed, it will be the largest private infra-structure ever under-taken in North America)
"(When completed, it will be the largest private infra-structure ever

Isn't that likely to be the "largest private infra-structure ever
under-taken" anywhere in the world?
And what are the chances the captcha is not truly random? "visionsh"
Here's some photos from last Sundays Picnic along with some other images of Sarah during the campaign... http://tinyurl.com/mwvb4h
