Palin to Launch New Twitter Account July 26th
From Governor Palin's Twitter, late last night:
Planning inauguration w/LtGov in 10 days, Frbanks. W/same cabinet, same positive pro-AK agenda it's all good, consistent success bc everyone elected is replaceable; Ak WILL progress! + side benefit=10 dys til less politically correct twitters fly frm my fingertps outside State site. I'll stay in touch w/whomever wants via personal twtr site; launch July 26; in meantime it's pleasure to update interested folks on State biz!
Inauguration will salute AKs 50th Anniversary & military & launches LtGov into Gov's office so AK avoids politics-as-usual lame duck session.
CBS News comments on the Governor's Tweets:
Sarah Palin has been able to leverage her Twitter account to keep up a national profile since her failed 2008 vice presidential bid -- and she doesn't plan to let her resignation as governor of Alaska stop her.
[...]
Sarah Palin has displayed her Web 2.0 savvy on Twitter, the social networking site that allows users to "tweet" 140-character messages, where she is able to seemingly sidestep "mainstream media" by communicating directly to her "followers" on Twitter -- all the while keeping journalists abreast of her latest moves.
It will be interesting to see how many of her nearly 100,000 current followers she brings over from her current feed, and how fast the numbers climb when the new feed is established. Can't wait!

Hey Guys, I can't wait either. I like her tweets now and I don't even live in Alaska. Can't wait till she takes the gloves off at her new site.
I'm sure the majority will switch to her new account, and once she starts sending out the new tweets that aren't so Alaska oriented, her following will really take off.
MSNBC is reporting that the DSCC has a new web ad linking Palin to Crist and Ayotte.

the DNC is getting creeped out again over palin
Palin is the only governor that has tweeted daily.
Perry does it once and a while.
However, Palin's tweets are interesting and fun.
Can't wait to see what she has in store!
Wow, Palin is doing the countdown. If she can't wait then I can't wait! This is going to be historic.
I wouldn't be surprised if there're millions of people following Sarah's tweets right *now*. It's just that they haven't officially signed in as a follower. Every time I go on line I check her twitter page, but I've never designated myself as a follower of her tweets. I doubt that I'm the only one doing that.
It'll be interesting to see if she starts responding to reply tweets.
Down to single digits now :)
What do Crist and Ayotte have to do with Palin? Are they saying they need to step down like her? Wait wouldn't that apply to their main man Obama?
I don't understand this twitter thing, but I can go to her tweet page and read lol.
ugh romney bots on the live desk.
Oh man, is this going to be fun, or what!
Sarah's tweets and political counterattacks are just the most amazing mix of entertainment and call to patriotism I've personally ever witnessed. Absolutely glued to it. These are some crazy and exciting times we're living, folks!
I'll sign up to Twitter on the 26th to follow our Sarah. :)
Lots of things will be changing as soon as she steps down.
May I point you to: http://palination.blogspot.com/
There are a bajillion folks out there in cyber land who want only the best for soon-to-be ex-Governor Palin. (Ok ok, only 100 million, but hey! who's counting?)
Her use of twitter keeps the youngsters involved, while us oldsters read and re-read the 'destructions' then call the neighbor kid to explain it all (again!)
I'm from the days of, "Number please?" In fact, I use to work as an operator for a tiny telephone company.
Twitter is a good choice for her to use.
I will learn to use it
I will learn to use it
I will....
Cilizza calls her the favorite in Iowa and South Carolina.

Once she is truly free to say and do what she wants the Dems will be sorry that they treated her so badly. Pay back is coming! (But in a good way!) We will be able to get the country to progress again.
"Sarah Palin has displayed her Web 2.0 savvy on Twitter, the social networking site that allows users to "tweet" 140-character messages, where she is able to seemingly sidestep "mainstream media" by communicating directly to her "followers" on Twitter -- all the while keeping journalists abreast of her latest moves."
Ha! As if she gives a rip about keeping "journalists" abreast of her latest moves.
These messages are for Alaskans, and after she moves to the personal account it will be US she's talking to!
Yes, those scare quotes around "journalists" were intentionally sarcastic, because "journalism" is as dead as a roadkill skunk in this country.
Dead and buried.
Im a follower now and will continue on her new tweet, can't wait for what she called, "not so politically correct Tweets", which she has had to do as Governor.
Should be very interesting....
If we think she has been BOLD now, just wait!.... the plain spoken TRUTH is going to be told in no uncertain terms!!
Sarah will certainly be her usual happy spirit and not mean spirited but sounds like she is ready to take it to them, whom ever THEM is!
God bless Sarah and Family
Tell everyone you know about the new twitter name and her facebook etc. If explained properly, she will have the majority of American's support but if we let her message be defined by the media, then she has no chance.
O/T: I posted a message on GRETA Wire blog and The Fox Nation. For Governor Palin supporters, visit conservatives4palin.com for all information relating to the Governor. This is a great place to follow in depth and concise information; biography, governing history and speeches. News, articles, video and editorials all compiled in one place. I did not include that the reason for my comment under the Palin headlines is because I am tired of main stream headlines about the Governor even on Fox New. It appeared on GRETA Wire blog, but not The Fox Nation.
Welove - FoxNation is good to read but when you post sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't or they are hidden in the pack.
"Planning inauguration w/LtGov in 10 days, Frbanks. W/same cabinet, same positive pro-AK agenda it's all good, consistent success bc everyone elected is replaceable; Ak WILL progress! + side benefit=10 dys til less politically correct twitters fly frm my fingertps outside State site."
I have to say something about these latest tweets. To allude that we can have consistent success because everyone elected is replaceable seems just wrong. I mean, it seems like Sarah is continually defending her decision to break her promise with voters like me by saying things that make me feel like a fool for voting for her in the first place.
This talk of lame-duck governors not being able to do anything is also a sham. If it was true every governor who said they weren't going to run again would step down.
I've found in my career that good leaders and management are very hard to replace. Consistent success depends on consistency of staff, not in handing over the reins to someone else.
The internet is her road to the White House, pure and simple, and like it or not Obama wrote the perfect book on how it's done right.
If utilized correctly, neither Romney or Huckabee will not be able to overcome its reach and power. This not only includes raising money but changing hearts and minds. Every YouTube clip she produces, if entertaining, informative and out-of-the-box newsworthy will go viral around the world. A handful of tech savvy, creatives working side by side with her, are worth their weight in gold. She has a mystique that will only be compromised by going on TV day and night. Stay elusive, feed off the obsession and maintain control of your own image.The ratings hungry networks will cover any speech she gives so...THERE IS NO NEED TO EVER GRANT INTERVIEWS WITH THEM. If she controls her message from here on out, she willl be president (if she so chooses).
RealAlaskan
You are ignoring the Elephant in the room.
The DNC in DC has directed the AKDems to do whatever they have to do to stop Sarah Palin from having anymore things to add to what she's already accomplished. No more, period. To heck with the state and the people, politics is more important.
Jam up the legislature, paralyze the executive branch staff with FOIA requests for anything and everything, get a small group of "citizens" to file ethics complaint after ethics complaint, further paralyzing the executive staff and as a bonus, personally bankrupt the Palins as a punishment.
The staff is not going anywhere. It will still be the Palin administration, just a change at the very top, disabling this abusive, cynical political strategy to tie her down and destroy her well earned reputation for reform.
It amazes me that some people refuse to accept the truth here.
You probably are going to be anti-Sarah no matter what happens, so I guess I'm wasting my time explaining this again.
realalaska, you just dont get it. SHE COULD NOT DO HER JOB FOR YOU IN HER CURRENT SITUATION. Would you rather her stay and not be able to do her job FOR YOU? It makes no sense to do that. You should be on your hands and knees thanking her for doing this. Now state business can get done. Two years ago I was sending emails to my senator Barack Obama warning him about the financial crisis, but he was out running for president instead giving me NO REPRESENTATION, yet I was paying massive taxes.
need to keep up the donations this month
we need to bounce romney in the next FEC report.
Piney:
As a kid we had a party line...remember those? LOL
Can't believe how far we have progressed. Party line then...cell phone now.
RealAlaskan -- that's why they invented Lt. Governors -- so if something comes up that a Governor needs to go a different path, there is someone waiting in the wings to continue on with the agenda.
In Parnell, Palin has someone very loyal who is willing to keep her entire cabinet on board. To me, it's the perfect play both for Alaska and Sarah. Alaska keeps the administration they elected while Sarah can focus on her calling -- which is to be a national figure.
I would think Alaskans would be proud of her, not throwing rocks as you are doing.
RealAlaskan:
You should feel betrayed by the nuts in your state who are harrassing your governor and wasting state money and time on their nonsense. Where were you when these ridiculous ethics complaints were being filed left and right? Did you call your state sentator or representative? Did you write to your local paper? Please, spare me the violins. You sat by and allowed your governor and her administrtion to be boondoggled and did nothing to support them. Now, she's stepping down to spare the state more of this and all you think about is yourself.
Palin is just liable to tweet her way into the White House!
Pretty clever of CBS to figure out how well Sarah Palin uses her twitter account(something we regular folk have known since she's been using twitter)! Wow, CBS is really, really smart...
It is interesting how someone who thinks as they do supposedly "for Alaska" doesn't talk for the majority OF Alaskans.
Parnell is a great step in for Palin.
If you don't like it, then leave Alaska.
This "real Alaskan" has had enough of the BS political isle grand standing! Parnell, being a former Alaskan Senator.. won't put up with it either.
Never will 140 characters typed whenever, by such a stupid, poltically dead, hillbilly, backwoods, misundereducated, nontitle holding, private citizen, mean so much, carry so much weight and cause such chattering by people chattering from their toilets!
I should be on my hands and knees thanking Sarah for bailing out on me and others who voted for her and supported her throughout?
Kind of a bizarre way to look at things.
All I'm saying is that I am not fond of Sarah tweeting things that make me feel a fool for supporting her. If anyone thinks consistency is not important in pushing an agenda, then I don't know what to say. And if anyone thinks Parnell can do as good a job as Sarah...then hey let's convince him to run for president.
@Brian72, I have no clue where you live but your comment "to heck with the state and the people, politics is more important," offends this Alaskan very much. What kind of person thinks that way? As an Alaskan, when I vote for a governor, I expect that person to concentrate on Alaska and its people. Great that Sarah also ran for VP, and I sure would have accepted her leaving if she and McCain had won, but as I've said all along I am having a hard time accepting a quitter. It is not the Alaskan way.
I was growing toward leaning to accepting it more, based in part on comments from this site, but these latest tweets frankly make me angry.
Never will 140 characters typed whenever, by such a stupid, poltically dead, hillbilly, backwoods, misundereducated, nontitle holding, private citizen, mean so much, carry so much weight and cause such chattering by people chattering from their toilets!
Thing is, Nancy, you'll tune in everyday to see what she tweets, sure as the sun rises in the East.
Better trolls. We need better trolls.
Suggest new Twitter name for @AKGovSarahPalin:
@SomethingAboutSarah
As one GOP insider told a twitterer, "There's just something about Sarah."
RA, Brian was speaking as if he was the DNC. That was not his opinion.
Nancy I don't think section understands you,but I thought it was funny!
@Sarahcuda
@Palination
@sarahpalinismyhomie
That would be section9
@alwaysfiredup,
Thanks for the fill-in, guess I misunderstood Brian. Apologies Brian.
@upinak,
I don't pretend to speak for all Alaskans. I don't. But neither should folks here think there aren't a bunch of Sarah supporters who feel as I do. To even suggest that I "leave" Alaska simply because I'm not happy with current situation is preposterous. I would no sooner leave than you likely would. I'm hear until I die, which may not be much longer, but nothing is going to make me leave this state or stop fighting for it however I can.
Parnell is a "step in" for Sarah, as you said. He isn't Sarah, never will be even remotely close to Sarah's capabilities. Do you agree with that? If not maybe Parnell should have been gov. all along.
alwaysfiredup,
@sarahpalinismyhomie
LOL
RA - You clearly misinterpreted Brian's comment's. He was talking like the Dems. Also, I am sure the citizens of Tennessee hated it in 1825 when their Senator Resigned just a little over a half year after a Presidential loss. He didn't take any other position either but look at the 20 dollar bill if you want to find that (by liberal definition) quitter. Also Sarah is keeping her Staff intact so there is consistency.
No RealAK,
I have worked with Parnell on many issues. He and Sarah are a fine unit and they beleive in many of the same things.
You don't think Parnell, trying to keep the 8 cent tax off our fuel isn't good? You better look at the price of Gasoline again in Anchorage and elsewhere in Alaska!
You don't think that his background in Oil and Gas is good? You better recheck that and research him!
This is why I can't stand Alaskans who do not at least take a look at the history of the people they vote for. I do, and I have! I am very poltical and have been for years.. even as a small child raised here in Alaska.
It is time to get off your @ss and look around before Alaska has another 10% given over to the Federal Government for "Wildlife Preservation"... not conservation. Or the fact that we are going to lose quite a bit more then our money.. how about ALL our natural resources including fish, hunting, and being able to go anywhere we choose.. without having to go to the Federal Government to get a permit before we take a walk.
Wake up!
RA - Your comments are confusing. By all the press and Dems in AK Sarah was a waste. The same held true with the Repubs especially in the Senate. Watch how most of them vote to override her veto and what happened to her AG. If you want to defend Sarah then my advise is to go out their and help campaign against the CBC and the Dems in the State Legislator that did all they could to destroy Sarah this past session. Have them improve the ethics laws for the GOV or vote them out. Also what if your spouse was found in contempt by a Senate that didn't even give your spouse a chance to defend themselves. And said this was justified.
section9,
Sorry, I haven't been doing a very good job of getting my point across lately . I was being sarcastic, I do that. I'm weird.
Upi - Good to have you back. Missed you yesterday. Oh and with the LT GOV being a LTG in the military there is a Natural leader if something bad happens to the new GOV. A leader that is taught how to lead in crisis.
Nancy, "misundereducated" is making me laugh out loud!
Have you considered being the new Erma Bombeck? I miss her humor and think you could really step right in as the modern Erma.
There's even an Erma Bombeck Writing Competition: http://www.wclibrary.info/erma/index.asp
Wait guys, I could be wrong here, but didn't RAM give us a hint before that "RealAlaskan" wasn't a real Alaskan?
Gov. Sarah's twitter account seems to be gaining followers very quickly again! :)
possible new twitter names:

PEC, busy busting away.
Palination... check it out sometime.
If Parnell is so great, then why didn't she make him acting governor when she was gone for two months last fall? If the title of governor means so little to her, then why did she bother running for office?
Some people just don't "get it" even in Alaska.
Blue... you do realize there is no State or Federal law that requires anyone who runs for higher political office to shift the seats. Right?
I got a good twitter name for Sarah
@SarahMakesLibsCrapPants
Ok an even better one..this one outta make libs heads explode
@SarahPalin2012
HELL YEAH!! I can't wait for Sarah's new twitter following. So wait, will people have to start following her again and her number will start from zero again or does she just change her name but keep the same twitter following. It would suck for everyone to have to start following her all over again
And I thought I was already given the honor of being Court Jester. Remember, I came up with the sock puppet idea for Sarah having to explain herself to the media.
You must also remember that Sarah has more people following her than:
Jindal (30K)
Huckabee (28K)
Romney (13K)
Rick Perry (12.5K)
and
Pawlenty (6.5K)
Combined!
With 1000's left over!
As you say, once it is less about Alaska, and more about America, business will pick up!
And what id cool about Sarah, is her tweets are actually about something. Many of the other yahoos talk about lunch!
Who else will quote Reagan, Thomas Paine, and Aristotle within a few hours of each other?
@upinak,
Parnell's forte is oil and gas issues. No denying that, and I think he's been a great asset in that regard. But Sarah was, as you know, working on a wide range of issues and changes (some of which you brought up) that I don't think Parnell will do as good a job on.
I read about him wanting a continuance of the state gas tax holiday, but I don't support a continuance. What I did support was waiving the gas tax during the winter months, but reinstating it during the summer months when so many tourists flock here and use our road system. The gas tax is what we use to partially fund road maintenance. I think it's crazy to not have that tax during the summer months.
You come across pretty harsh. I don't know you and you don't know me, but telling me to get off my ass is offensive and uncalled for. If you knew what I had personally done to help Sarah get elected, maybe you'd have a different tone. We are not enemies. We may have differing views on some things but I think we deeply care about Alaska and the same kind of changes Sarah was pushing.
BTW, I met with Sean a couple times in Juneau when he was in the legsislature. I wasn't knocking him. I just don't think he is a force like Sarah was/is. For one thing he isn't as stubborn and is more likely to not stick out some of Sarah's agenda. We'll see. If he wasn't running for governor next term I'd feel more confident. But since he is I think he will have to compromise on some things.
And to those that want to label me a phony, not a real Alaskan, I already went through that and responded to Rebecca. Like I said, I am not going to publicly give my name, and I hope just because I may not always agree with folks here that some are going to force that issue. I need to keep my anonymity for the same reasons some others do and I hope you can respect that.
BlueDog: Why...Why...why...do you bother coming here if you don't like Sarah? That is a better question.
RealAK,
Meeting someone and working with them are two different aspects.
I understand the feelings you have concerning Sarah leaving. But maybe turn your disdain and the fact you are upset on those who are NOT doing anything for Alaska.. such as some of our State Senators and Legislators.
Do you agree we have a serious problem with them?
RA - Sarah will be tough shoes to fill but as of right now, the CBC and the DEMS were going to block every move Sarah made. Don't forget now she can be a huge voice against them and can even speak for candidates running against them while they are in session. She is a private citizen. I think there are several of these legislators she would love to see join her in the ranks of private citizen and w/o the Gov hat but still with the punch will likely go after them harder.
Real Alaskan,
I think your concerns are valid. I would just argue that Gov. Palin makes a compelling case, at least to me, that circumstances in Alaska changed sufficiently after the campaign to make it nearly impossible for her to be as effective a Governor as she was during her first 18 months.
As you know, players in Alaska govt who had been willing to cooperate with Palin, ceased to do so after the campaign. Increasingly, her political opponents sought to make an issue of her -- not her agenda, not her ideas, or actions, but her as a persona -- and to use that to drive a wedge through the Alaska electorate.
Take the pipeline. People who were for it initially suddenly didn't want to support it for fear that it would make Gov. Palin look good.
That's a poisonous situation. I think that things only would have been worse during 2010 -- an election year in which the incentive to cooperate and unite on points of agreement would naturally have declined any way.
Gov. Palin made a good faith effort. She tried to stick it out. And she drips with love of Alaska from her every pore.
She chose to deny her opponents their most potent weapon -- the controversy of Palin the political celebrity persona. She chose to give to Alaska voters a new chance at a civic peace in which her agenda -- the one she was elected to implement -- could be completed.
You believe that she "quit." Sometimes, "quitting" is the right thing.
RA, that's fine to have concerns about Parnell not being the dynamo that Palin is. Few people on planet Earth are.
However, have you not seen that since last fall, this group of lawmakers has clearly made it known through word and deed that they will NOT LET PALIN DO ANYTHING ELSE?
You say Parnell may not be able to push through the things Palin could.
But she CAN'T push anything through anymore. This group of lawmakers got 11 things accomplished out of more than 400 that they could've looked at this session.
11
This group of lawmakers who issued a public proclamation praising Wayne Anthony Ross as a Great Alaskan in 2008 REJECTED him as Attorney General in 2009. Why? Because PALIN PICKED HIM.
So you may be right about Parnell not being able to push everything through that Palin could have PRE-8/29/08. But IMO, you are wrong that Palin can push anything through post-8/29/08.
And don't gloss over the post further down C4P today that quotes Shannyn Moore as saying she's in daily contact with the Dem leadership in Juneau.
She and the other clique of AKns determined to block Palin's every move would continue to do so in Session 2010 and certainly if she won reelection.
Why would they stop?
And how could Palin get anything done?
RA-
there are very few people in life that are a force like Sarah. You have been blessed to have her as your Gov. but your anger and disapproval is misplaced. You really should be angry at the people that have repeatedly attacked Sarah and her family.
Upi- nice to see you back. I did notice you were missing. Nice website, by the way!
I haven't got an account on twitter myself but followed Gov. Palin's twit everyday.
I think I will get my twitter account on July 26 when she launch her new personal one.
Just something to remember :-)
Oh RA - If I was losing a GOV like Sarah I would be a little mad as well. But please look long range.
@upinak,
Yes, yes yes tenfold we have serious problems with our legislature! Not sure I see your point though.

Piney:
As a kid we had a party line...remember those? LOL
Can't believe how far we have progressed. Party line then...cell phone now.
=======================
Where I worked, we had the F numbers (farm home) that were shared by most families along the same road. We would ring them differently, eg 1 long and 2 short for one family. Of course everyone on the line would listen in.
I would have people ask if Mary is home or did she go to town? Kids calling after school with, "Ma'am, where is my mom?" and agreeing to do their homework to surprise mom when she got home from town.
Then, we had the 'all call' ring that went out when there was a fire call. I would be plugging into lines and pushing the siren for the FD.
Fun times, good times. I do miss those days of simplicity.
I remember the Party Line. I got in trouble a few times as a kid listening to my neighbors telephone calls. Come to find out a few years later he was having an affair. No wonder he was so irrate at my siblings and me listening in on his calls.
RA - W/o speaking for upi what she is saying is work to get a lot of those bums voted out. Sarah will have your back and will not be obliged to work with them during the legislative session. She will be a private citizen.
Oh notice how quite most the CBCers have been since her resignation announcment. Maybe they are a little worried that she will not have to be politically correct on calling out their tactics.
Sarah's twitter account has more than 100,000 followers now!
@Sarah2012
Sorry I am swamped as usual.
RealAK... the point is point the frustration of the stepping down of Sarah to other areas. Our Legislators and Senators are corrupt.. we ALL know that as Alaskan... we need to work together to get them out. As we ALL know As Alaska that she couldn't get them to work with her .. always against her and in the long run the Legislators and Senators hurt US as Alaskans... not Sarah like they were hoping.
Does that make sense?
Also, guys give the old timer a break. He isn't quite as caught up as the rest of us and he is still dealing with what a lot of Alaskans are dealing with.... hurt pride as we know it didn't have to come to Sarah leaving.

Of course I'm a Texan and have a governor who can forget his principles when the wind changed direction. He's better about that since he started hanging out with your governor.
@MamaGrissly
Love all the new Twitter names! They are all great!
@45th
Just kidding.
THREE WORDS: It's all Good. :-)
Can't wait to see the new Tweeting after 7/26.
I can hear the chirping already.
1-20-13, When the Palin bird sings from the steps of the U.S. Capitol!!
I think she did it on purpose, just to show everyone she could reach 100,000 on a twiter site not only once but Twice! He, he, just kidding :)
Its infuriating, but at the same time reassuring that the are NO LEAKS!. I really like this. No leaks on her resignation, no leaks on a new tweeter account, no leaks as to the possible name. Every one is waiting with abaited breath for her to declare her next move.
Meg Stapleton is awesome and Sarah's team of trusted advisors (friends, family etc) is just kicking butt.
The moment I start to hear things leaking out of the campaign, thats the moment I'll get worried. At that point let the hunt for the mole begin!
At this point not knowing makes me happy.

I reported an error on here that I need to correct. Someone that I thought was from C4P told me that SarahPAC had joined the Palin Twibe on Twitter http://twib.es/CP3 and I reported that on here. Now I'm hearing this is not the case. I made a mistake in thinking that the person who reported it to me was involved with C4P, hence I trusted the report. I am very sorry for any confusion. I don't know if SarahPAC has a Twitter account and apologize for reporting something erroneous.
I do hope Palin supporters will, nevertheless, join the Palin Twibe on Twitter. It's free and easy to use and it's a great way to find other Palin supporters on Twitter. I do a #followfriday for all members as well as #www for female members and I RT as many as I can via the Twibe home page at http://twib.es/CP3 We have seen our membership double since the resignation announcement and you are all invited to come and join in the fun on Twitter!
