Yet Another Ethics Complaint Filed by Andree McLeod; Tweets from the Governor; UPDATE: Statement from Palin's Attorney
KTUU reports:
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Another ethics complaint has been filed against Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, less than a week before her resignation.
The complaint filed Monday alleges Palin violated ethics law by failing to submit complete gift disclosure forms in a timely manner.
[...]
The latest is the sixth filed by fellow Republican Andree McLeod, an outspoken critic of the governor. 3 of the cases have been dismissed and two others, including one filed last week, remain active.
Palin steps down as Alaska governor on Sunday, with 18 months left to her first term.
UPDATE by Daniel: You may recall that Andree McLeod was denied a position in Gov. Palin's administration. Apparently she took this rejection as an impetus to file numerous frivolous ethics complaints against the governor and her administration, in fact, abusing the ethics process. This latest complaint is yet another example of the complete disregard that anklebiters like McLeod have for the ethics process as they continually undermine it with frivolous complaints, and impose unnecessary costs on their fellow taxpayers in Alaska. So far the cost has been nearly two millions dollars and it continues to pile up.
This complaint joins three other frivolous complaints filed since Governor Palin's July 3rd decision to step aside as Alaska Governor -- a previous one from McLeod, one filed by Zane Henning, and another by Ray Ward.
You can help by making a donation to the Alaska Fund Trust.
UPDATE by RAM: From the ADN:
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, says the multiple filings by one person raise the prospect that the ethics process "is being abused and is simply being used to harass and annoy."
Three of the cases have been dismissed and two others, including one filed last week, remain active.
Palin steps down as Alaska governor on Sunday, with 17 months left to her first term.
Read the complaint here.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the ADN is always so quick to post the pdf files of the ethics complaints, but is slow as molasses to post the Personnel Board review of these complaints when they're dismissed?
The ADN also posts the governor's "string of tweets" on the latest complaint:
In violation of Ethics Act more allegations were filed today by serial complainer;gave to press be4 we could respond;ridiculous, wasteful...
Some ask why not sue abusers of Ethics Act bc state wastes 1000's hrs/millions of tax dollars to fight (and win!) frivolous charges, tho...
it costs political critics NOTHING to file/play their wasteful game; They should debate policy in political arena, not hide w/process abuse...
BUT if there was a suit to end public waste of time/funds to constantly address false allegations I could see perhaps a veteran filing it....
someone who's put their life on the line protecting even opponents' right to speak & protest, was willing to die for freedom of press but...
knows it's shameful 4 valuable time& public resources to be diverted frm needed causes to deal w/this abuse of govt accountability system...
Hopefully these political critics filing this stuff (& some in press perpetuating it) appreciate the freedom to do so, protected by our vets
UPDATE II by RAM: Here's the statement from Gov. Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein:
FOR RELEASE: JULY 20, 2009
Another Ethics Complaint Filed Against the Governor
July 20, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Once again, an ethics complaint has been filed and publicly released in violation of state law. This is the sixth complaint filed by Ms. McLeod. In addition, she has filed a lawsuit against the Governor's office and multiple public records act requests. All of her prior complaints that have been ruled on have been dismissed. The Ethics Act serves important state interests in ensuring ethical state government and was intended to prevent the various forms of corrupt misconduct that had plagued the Legislature in prior years and which resulted in the prosecution of legislators and others. It is unfortunate that the law has been abused and trivialized in the current manner.
Today’s complaint, filed just six days before the Governor leaves office, alleges that Governor Palin violated the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act by failing to submit complete gift disclosure forms in a timely manner, and obtained “free” services. The apparent primary goal of this complaint has been achieved, namely, an effort to keep the complainant’s name in the paper. We anticipate another dismissal of this complaint as with the complainant’s other complaints. This is the fourth ethics complaint filed against the Governor since the announcement of her resignation on July 3. In every case, the complainers violated the confidentiality provision of the Ethics Act in making their complaints public knowledge.

What a loon.
"fellow Republican"
I am confused.
I thought we were supposed to all be for "Party Unity".
What's up with that?
And I object to the abusive use of the word "Loon"--what a beautiful bird to be abused so unkindly.
Sarah peed on Andree's job hopes..
Hell hath no furry like a lunatic with a grudge!
Please - r u kiddin me?
This is no longer a joke. Andree MUST realize that by keeping this thing GOING & GOING & GOING she is making it even MORE eaSY for SARAH!
Sarah will garner so much sympathy from the public from all of these bogus complaints that these particular 18 or how ever many seem to me as if they are ON PURPOSE trying to HELP SARAH!
and if they don't see it now? they will!
ROFLOL the public loves an underdog that's being picked on!! (hello Rodney King?)
could they really be that stupid? really?
smells fishy to me
but hey anything that helps Sarah is fine by me.
lets make up another 15 - put them on WORLD NEWS TONIGHT!!! Let KATIE CRAPIC deliver the news!!!
yea that's a plan - guess I'd better start knitting my President Palin sweater NOW! ;-)
This McLeod is fixing to have a nervous breakdown. Didn't someone post a clip of her being interviewed like last week? She acts like stalker material...
SCARRY!
LMAO what a nut!
Apparently we are all to feel sorry for her since big meany Sarah Palin is complaining about her and her friends by name. Oh, the hate mails! and hate emails! and hate blog posts! it's so hard to be a private citizen in Alaska these days...
Anyone filing an ethics complaint should have to buy the popcorn.
If this moron keeps up with this after Sarah is no longer Govenor, can Sarah sue her for harrassment?
Someone needs to have this woman committed...she's a danger to society!
"fellow republican"
thats just to provide cover
typical lefty tactic.
(sockpupeting)
WTF?? That woman needs a shrink and Sarah needs a restraining order against her.
Andree has already said she will never leave Sarah alone and will continue to do this, even with Sarah out of office. Notice how Linda Biegal has pretty much left Sarah alone, she was just a DNC puppet, but Andree, she is a NUT and is pissed that Sarah did not give her a job, after looking at her behavior, can ANYONE blame Sarah for wanting to stay the hell away from this whack job. Andree is a threat to Sarah's physical safety
This is beyond bizarre and I'm just going to say it; it's clear that this McLeod lady has an unusual fascination with Gov. Palin.
It's beyond just "payback". I honestly believe she has an attraction to Palin and it's manifesting into this overboard, attention-seeking behavior.
I can't wait to read Sarah's twitter about THIS complaint.
I think Andrea is about to find out what it means to have raised the blood pressure of one Sarah Palin one too many times. Six days and counting...
She really does meet the M.O. of a stalker, doesn't she?
If Sarah has anything less than ex-IDF soldiers or former Army Rangers as her security guards, I will worry about her safety.
Hell, if Sarah has anyone less than Jack Bauer guarding her after next week I will worry about her safety!!
It seems to me the Personnel Board and the State Police should be investigating McLeod. Anyone as obsessed as she is is clearly unstable and quite possibly, dangerous to the Palin family.
Andree needs to go fishing...
Any volunteers to take her out?
WTF is wrong with this chick?
I am wondering if Sarah can file harrassment charges against her or some type of countersuit or injunction. Could she be considered some type of stalker?
I don't see how it can be legal for someone to purposely attempt to bankrupt a public figure. Maybe as a private citizen Sarah can do more
OT: Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but Romney's PAC filed its June numbers late Friday. Just saw it on the FEC site today.
For the month of June, 2009 Romney raised $298,585. Of this amount 41% came from donations under $200, the remainder from large donors.
For the six months ending June 30, 2009, Romney raised a total of $1,924,375. This compares to $732,868 raised by Sarah. Of this amount, Romney raised only 31% of his donations from contributions under $200 compared to the 57% raised by Sarah from small donors. Most of Romney's money came from executives in the financial industry donationg $1,000 to $5,000 per individual.
For the six months ending June 30, 2009, Romney spent $1,420,782 compared to Sarah spending only $276,201.
At June 30, 2009, Romney had $841,568 cash remaining while Sarah had $456,667 cash remaining.
Currently, Romney is raising on average about $320,000 a month. Therefore, if Sarah is to match Romney, and make up for the current $385,000 cash advantage Romney has on her, she needs to average about $385,000 per month for the last six months of this year - or $2.3 million in total. If she can do this she will be in very good shape going into 2010.
Huckabee's PAC numbers to June 30, 2009, have not yet been posted.
I would like Andree's age, weight, and height. Her marital status and living arrangements would also be appreciated.
Can someone get on that?
Information is a two-way street. I need to learn about my prey.
I think even as Governor she should be able to file harassment charges on this individual! it don't matter the title you are! you should be able to defend yourself
But Rusty...
Romney was some $2+Million in the hole from his previous campaign...they don't tell you that!
Romney has his own ground to make up before he can claim any gains.
Hey, all: the best way to respond to these attacks is to donate to The Alaska Fund Trust, Governor Palin's legal defense fund.
Sure, Sarah's book will earn significant $$$...
but why should the Guv's worthy attorneys wait to be paid for their good work?
Why should the Palins have $500k or more in legal fees hanging over them, even for 5 minutes?!
Link to donate is at the upper left corner of C4P.
Lots of small donations speak even more loudly to the ankle-biters:
"in your faces, morons!"
I saw Celtic Diva talking about this the other day on Twitter...Yes, I spy on her, never to engage.
Did they work together on this?
Here is her post, which is a reply
"@aledajd - I did a records request for all Gov. gifts reported since Dec. 2008 -- interesting to see what's there & what's not1:25 PM Jul 18th from web in reply to aledajd"
Andree is pissed that Sarah refused to give her a job in her Administration. She is a bitter hag. Wait a second, so now Celtic Diva and Andree are working together..LOL Come on Linda, you can't do the job yourself so you get someone else to do it for ya..at least have the guts to do it yourself
Did ingraham on o'reilly make a hit piece on Palin. It's the quitter meme harping.

is google messing with me or this blog?
I tried to post an LOL to TOKI with some little comment - nothing vile
it never made it and I tried 3 times
closed down and restarted my machine even so now is trial number 4
hope this one makes it
anyway TOKI that was funny
the PREY line! LOL
Andree needs to go fishing...
Or hunting with Dick Cheney.
Seriously, is there no legal recourse Sarah has against this tactic? This one person may be motivated by malice, but the others can possibly be connected directly to the DNC. RICO charges? Seems like anybody can sue anybody about anything - but Sarah is defenseless?
Hey, all: the best way to respond to these attacks is to donate to The Alaska Fund Trust, Governor Palin's legal defense fund.
Very true. But she set the donation limit so low, I maxed out. Perhaps the Fund will get more publicity once Sarah is free.

Not my fat friend, Linda! I can't believe that she would betray my trust like this. After everything I've done for her...
That demimondaine is definitely a member of the Baleen whale syndicate.
My wish for Monday, July 27:
The lowering of the hammer by Sarah Palin and her capable attorney, Thomas Van Flein, on Andree McLeod (and whoever else should be included) in the form of harassment charges or whatever is appropriate and defendable.
It is time for Sarah Palin to show these morons and the rest of the country that you don't mess with The Barracuda!
Having said that, is such action what Obama's minions are daring her to do? A potential Presidential candidate tied up in court battling her "citizen" enemies?
What do you think?
Can the people of Alaska sue this lady???
ok.. this is getting quite scary.. is something wrong with this Andree woman??.. I think Sarah needs to get a restraining order agn this lunatic..
what is her deal? why is she such a loony tune?
--palin democrat.
if that was their plan they are not just common idiots but FOOLS too!
it's already backfiring on them
They did it to Hillary in Iowa and she came back and took New Hampshire and the 2nd Nevada caucus but in between that the Obrats started with the BIll Clinton is a racist theme and it just spiraled from there!!
YET she still took almost all of the remaining primaries where the PEOPLE had the chance to vote and she KEPT winning! She had more votes than him in the end.
it was the giving away of the delegates that ARGHhhhhhh I'm not going there anymore it just makes me sooooo dammmmmmmmmm mad!!!
i hate obots
i hate the media
and I rarely hate
Not submitting gifts disclosures in a timely manner? Does she mean she wants Palin to open the millions of letters she received to see if there are any cash gifts inside? It's not like Palin lied about it. She wrote in her financial disclosure that she still has boxes to go through.
I found this audio statement released by Andree: http://bit.ly/XYgq5
LindaW: tell me that was a figment of my imagination. You didn't actually use the word "lady" in connection with McLeod, right?
OT:
Palin's upcoming speech in CA to be a media blackout?
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=43948&tsp=1
Well if true.. must be a reason!....
It's really NOT atypical for this type of event to have no media...
There would really only be media coverage because it is "Sarah Palin."
CharterOakie:
LOL! I meant to say 'lunatic.'
I hope she does more when she's in CA. Hoping to get to see her finally.
Well that is just dumb. You know the guv was being very careful to dot those i's and cross those t's regarding any gifts. I thought it had to be over $200 value for her to need to claim it. Sarah had only been out of AK maybe 3 times since the campaign, can't believe she got that many expensive things in AK nor that many mailed to her from people.
This, again, proves Sarah's point.
And I don't care if Sarah got 50 million bucks for her book. If that is what the market will pay her, good, she should not have to waste a penny of her money on this mess. I hope she raises all the money for her legal fees via the Fund.
maybe all these gifts under 250 are shoes and this Andree is hugely jealous!
some women actually dream about shoes but I'm with Sarah on this one - I don't like to shop - no wonder she's not opened all her mail/gifts/etc
These people are really pathetic but it is a serious issue as well. Though she will be a private citizen soon, Sarah should seriously consider some private security. I am sure her and Todd can take of themselves, but there are some deranged people out there. This stalker woman is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the radical nutcases who want to hurt and destroy Sarah Palin and her family. I am sure her and Todd will use their good judgement on this.
The CA speech is probably closed to the media because it is a private club. But then, what better way to let your hair down and speak freely, knowing the message will be spread word-of-mouth by good people rather than distorted by the MSM.
Yeah, Sarah made the right choice, to get out.
And you can bet that Sarah will give more of her book money away to charities than the Annointed One, who gave a pittance to charity before he started running for president.
M03
and most of that (less than) 2 percent of his income went to Jeremiah GD Wright's church and to Fr Pfleger Filths pulpits
utter blasphemy
Dear Whackadoodle,
You. Are. Making. Her. Point.
Not. Helping.
Pass. It. On.
Sincerely,
David Axelrod
I agree. I can't believe people were saying she can use her speaking/book money to pay for this crap. That would be very unfair for her.
Is this about the stuff she got when she was in New York? Maybe it's the chocolates she got for her birthday....
Please, Andree. Obsessed much?
Once the Governor is out of office , she should take this lunatic to court, get her under oath and find out exactly who is behind it all. Make her name the names and get them on an official record.

Of course I have a standard. A double standard.
this ethics complaint will be thrown out because its too broad. it doesn't accuse palin of a specific allegation therefore will be thrown out similar to the one about her getting paid for media interviews.

politico says this is a gaffe maybe but its probably more a freudian slip:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25165.html
Andree McLeod must be a secret fan of Sarah otherwise all this makes no sense.
1) Every complaint after her resignation just makes Sarah’s case stronger
2) The general public just gets fed up with all those and won’t take any complaint against Sarah serious.
3) Sympathy for Sarah increases.
4) Just makes more people donate to the Alaska Trust Fund.
5) When the MSM goes after Sarah, the general mood will be “there they go again”
So unless McLeod really loves Sarah, she is just one really really stupid woman
We report, you decide.
Well,
What would the final week in office be without another ridiculous complaint.
I agree with others. This all just proves Sarah's point.
Nancy: Dear Whackadoodle HAHAHA, reminds me of that kids' game, Whackamole. :)))
Hey, you really get under their skin...saw a screen shot of one of your posts on one of the flickr photostreams of a truther today.
You know, they really do seem "stalkerish" when you look through their image collections.
Enough. Is. Enough.
Time to hit back. Air Tasking Order please.
Someone said on an earlier thread that once someone leaves office, ethics complaints can be filed for up to 2 years. So, we may see these things popping up well into 2011. Given the fact that McLeod and some of the others have nothing better to do, and are most likely getting paid for their services, they'll keep it up.
If you want to be entertained by Zane Henning, then go to this link:
http://thomasalamb.blogspot.com/2009/07/wapo-is-pushing-zane-henning-complaint.html
Tom occasionally leaves comments over here, and he received a recording from Zane on his answering machine. You can hear that message on his blog.
Gov. Palin tweeted just few minutes ago and called McLeod "serial complainer."
Really made me laugh.
Bwahahaha...
Yeah, it's all too strange for a few to just attack her to such a degree. Dan Fagan hates Palin's guts and doesn't even do that. Perhaps these folks are getting paid for their relentless dirty work. I having a feeling that it started off as a hobby, and then became paid work by the AK Democratic Party that's helping out Obama camp? Or if not paid work, there could be a reward of some sort. Of course, this is all speculation.
Or maybe it's just old fashion vengeance.
I believe Sarah is waiting until she gets out of office and may sue several people and they will have to give depositions under oath. Maybe be questioned to find out if they are being paid by someone, etc. This could be very interesting. She may also get all the e-mails and tweets between others, etc.
Well, it reminds me that B.O. has never really won a fiar fight. He got Alice Palmer's name off the ballot in his first run for state senator, after getting her ballot petition thrown out on technicalities.
Then mysteriously when he ran for U.S. Senate, both his opponents (first in the primary, then in the general election) had their divorce records unsealed, driving them from the race in scandal.
Then we all know what Obama did to Hillary in the caucuses and the Acorn registration fraud in swing states against McCain/Palin.
He can't win a fair fight. His whole goal was to bankrupt Sarah and drive her from politics forever. But Sarah is staying one step ahead of him.
M03 -
That just shows Obama runs a dirty campaign. I mean, all campaigns are dirty, but he really plays dirty. Maybe he's a puppet being controlled by someone very powerful in Chicago, someone who has a lot invested in green technology.
OT but my brother forwarded this to me from the Christian Oilfield Fellowship newsletter:
A Reworking of the 23rd Psalm for the Times
The government is my shepherd;
I need not work.
It alloweth me to lie down on a good job;
It leadeth me beside still factories;
It destroyeth my initiative.
It leadeth me in a path of parasite for politic's sake.
Yea though I walk through the valley of laziness and deficit-spending,
I will fear no evil, for the government is with me.
It prepareth an economic Utopia for me,
By appropriating the earnings of my own grandchildren.
It filleth my head with false security;
My inefficiency runneth over.
Surely the government should care for me all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in a fool's paradise forever.
i think the guv has given us a hint:
BUT if there was a suit to end public waste of time/funds to constantly address false allegations I could see perhaps a veteran filing it...7 minutes ago from TwitterBerry
oneXSturtle,
good idea but there is a $150 cap.
The only ads that would normally show up are SarahPAC anyway. Maybe the ones on the side and at the bottom are from Google Adsense?
sarahpac is $5000 is a better place.
Sorry for deleting my posts. Just had flashbacks of someone using fundraising comments against us.
Anyway, let me rephrase it - my suggestion for the creators of C4P is to place Google Adsense ads (not sure if the ones on the side and bottom are from that), but with all the hits this site gets, money can be generated to help fund things that benefit Palin4President things like Adrienne's Draft Sarah Palin for President Committee or wherever.
Just a thought.
I'll be sharing that New 23rd Psalm with everyone I know.
m-m-m
Governor Palin says more in a tweet, than President Obama says in a prime time press conference.
The legislature should take up this matter on the 27th when they act on other things. I believe they have the ethic complaints against the Gov. on their agenda for later in the year. But, it would make sense for them to take it up now.
ONE WORD:
Yawn.......
ONE QUESTION:
Can they file more than one a day?
1-20-13,
Ethics Complaint redux for Palin (only on a grander scale, and with Katie 'Ice Queen' Couric and Charlie "Professor" Gibson after her every single day highlighting every flaw.....and oh yeah, looking for every chance they can get to attack her family.
Get ready this Defense Fund is going to be a staple of the Palin Campaign/Administration for YEARS to come.
On the bright side....won't having the Federal gov't spending $50 million to defend Palin in the White House be a whole lot cheaper than the $23 TRILLION that BHO and the Porkulus Congress have approved and spent?
***and remember to keep praying for Roadblocks for O as he attempts to destroy.....sorry "remake" America.
Looks like we're getting some answers to them. :-)
lol. i just read the ethics complaint from mcleod:
- a white beaded vest
- family travel
- greta's husbands advice (i'm not kidding)
From the AP: Alaskan volcanologists confirm that Mt. McLeod is ready to blow her top. The announcement comes after two weeks of increased seismic activity stemming from the McLeod home. Scientists suspect the seismic activity is a direct result of all-night pacing sessions at which time McLeod is seen stomping around her home, wringing her hands and blubbering "Time's running out, times running out".
"I've never seen anything like it", said a geophysicist with the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO), "I want to look away, but I can't".
Although friends and family members of the volatile McLeod have been keeping a safe distance, they have joined with bystanders to get a "front row seat" to "see Andree go 'BOOM'". "IT. WILL. BE. AWESOME.", one cousin was quoted as saying. "I'm running to the store now for more popcorn and beer", said another.
The forecast for this week says to expect an increase of hot air from the volcano's mouth, along with an increase of erratic behavior and noxious, stinky gasses. Scientists predict that she may "go" at any time starting around July 26th or 27th.
"We've been waiting for McLeod to erupt and implode for sometime now. It will be a great show-lots of 'ooooohs and ahhhhhhs'", said a representative of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), "Not going to miss this one. I've canceled my family vacation for shizzle!"
Is she talking about Track?
baboonking,
You have the actual ethics complaint? Is there a link?

Andree-O's, aka Fruit Loops.
what is true is that the complaints are definitely costing the state. i'm not too worried about the guv since its probably just paper for her lawyer but the state has to hire attorneys and investigators which would rack up a decent sum.
Andree is just bitter that Sarah didn't give her a job in her Administration. Hey Andree, get over it you LOON. She didn't want you, GET OVER IT, MOVE ON, there must be hundreds, thousands of jobs in Alaska, FIND ONE, the Democrats won't always be filling your pockets with dough. GET A LIFE ALREADY, ITS PATHETIC
Please remember that I am a supporter of Alaska (have been since my first visit in the 1980's (not sure, might have been 1970's) and a supporter of Sarah Palin since I first heard of her.
I've only been to Alaska in the summer time, if you burn up all of this energy on ethics complaints in the summer, what do you do in the cold dark days of winter?
Oh. I See.

Nancy, you're my favorite poster... you crack me up every day!
Let me get this straight:
I thought complaints were confidential. So how did ADN get a copy of this. Mclown draws publicity to the complaint thus violated said provision should render complaint void.
The only silver-lining is I know Gov. Palin is uncorruptable and as ethical as they come.
Hey Andree,
No matter how many complaints you file you will NEVER get a job from Palin's administration.
You better be nice to Gov. Parnell.
LOSER!
:)

Excellent jornalism!

Yes, I too have donated the maximum to The AFT. Hopefully others still have room and a few $ to spare.
CodaCuda, ADN got a copy of this from McLeod before it was filed. That is a violation of the law and ADN is abetting this violation....unfortunately, the Legislature removed the penalties for this and no one noticed.
Travel?
1. What travel? Did I miss facts?
Who?
What
When
Where
How much did it cost?
The Coale claim seems incoherent.
But, I am offended. Haven't I, and we, given advice here, free?
Hasn't the serial filer given advice to Sarah, free?
Why are we left out?
That ain't fair.
Sheya @7:41:
Excellent analysis. The more her enemies attack, the stronger Sarah becomes. Surreal.
"Lot's of movin' and shakin' up there...the largest earthquake ever..ever in N. American history...9.2 was the year I was born..196tap tap tap...is this thing on?"....
Boy did The good Gov. get that part of the speech wrong...
9.2 is what Andree blows on a breathalizer every day! 9.2 is Andree's IQ. $9.2M is what this freak will end up costing Alaskan's. I think an Earthquake is a brewin' and it will be Andree that will get crushed!
Just a reminder, if you've maxed out your contribution to the ATF, you can donate another $150 after the first of next year. The limit is $150 per person, per year.
I just went to read the complaint and "this page is no longer available."
Lorna or someone else,
Could you nicely tweet Fred Malek and ask him why he feels that Palin's future plans are "unclear?"
http://www.fredmalekblog.com/2009/07/20/ten-for-the-road-part-2-which-republican-leaders-are-making-an-impact/
"I have omitted my friend, Sarah Palin, as there is no clarity on her future plans."
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has a web-only ad out hitting Sarah Palin and Charlie Crist, among other Republicans, for “quitting” on their jobs.
http://blogs.creativeloafing.com/politicalwhore/2009/07/17/charlie-crist-sarah-palin-star-in-democratic-attack-ad-quitters-video/
Hannity just showed it under the banner “Threat To Dems”. With the following as his final thought.
Alright, Kathleen Sebelius, Janet Napolitano, Rombo Dead Fish and the president himself.
Now if considering a run for a higher office or answering a call to serve your country makes you a quitter that ad should include all those people I mentioned in the president’s cabinet and Barack Obama himself.
I think Fred Malek is right. Sarah has not declared what her future plans are and she has stated she will make them known at a later time.
Sorry, I fail to see how what he said in not fair. He does these lists from time to time and the people change depending on the issues at any given time.
Vest. If under $150, no violation?
So, how much is a lightly used vest handmade by that craftsman worth? Wholesale? Retail? Garage Sale? In what market?
It would cost more than $150 to get an appraisal that considers all the factors. But, which market? How is the appraisal to be done? A lawyer can answer that with "I don't know" for about $1000.
Is it in the state's interest to appraise it? No. Does the state want it? For what?
Used. Yes, worn by Sarah that day. Did that reduce or increase the hypothetical value in 2007? Got me.
The vest was worn in 2007. That is a worn out issue.
The complaint shows that there is nothing serious to serially complain about.
N-A-N-C-Y !
:^ ))
This makes me wonder if somebody will file yet another ethics complaint against Sarah Palin AFTER she's finally stepped down for good.
I have a phrase that sometimes things can get to where they are "extremely obvious to the most casual observer." I think we are real close on this ethics stuff, if not there. When Olberman sees it, we'll know for sure!
I think Andree is not a secret Palin fan, just so hateful and desperate. Reason really goes out the window at the end. There are times when some person or organization gets so desperate or pushes so hard for so long, that they are actually working against their cause, but they don't see it.
Also, shows Sarah made good decision not hiring Andree!
If a politician receiving free advice is a gift that must be reported, we have new meaning for "petitioning the government."
What was the value of the ADN editorials advising Sarah?
What was the value of the Sarah haters advising Sarah?
What was the value of the crowd shouting "drill baby drill"? Do you value each person's shout? Are shouter's shouts some more valuable that others?
What fun this can be.
Complaint page still comes up for me--I wonder if your reader broke the long URL
here is the same thing: http://tinyurl.com/l6araf
Tommy I stand with juju on this. Would have Malek not have mentioned Sarah at all i would have understood your argument. But he does finish it off stating his reason why he omitted her, which basically means he believes she will be a player should she so choose but he doesn’t want to speculate while he has no clue what her plans are. Once Sarah makes her plans clear you can be sure she’ll be of the top 5 if not number one.
It looks like the complainer put a lot of hours into the process of coming up with the complaint.
I grade it A for effort, F for content, F for "works well with others".
Malek is fine. Just giving Sarah a week off. Then she can reappear. Sort of like the All Star Break.
Sheya and Juju,
Point taken.
I'm just wondering if he really thinks her plans are completely unclear. I thought she made it pretty clear that she plans to remain in national politics but perhaps not as a candidate.
I wonder who wrote it for her.
After the 26th, Gov. Palin and family need to disappear for a month and enjoy each other.
Hollis French, Jay Ramras, and Lyda Green..they have lot's of practice hating the Gov.
Amanda K,
Andree-O's that's good!:) She really is Fruit Loops! Wow!
Brian Davidson,
Thank you for your encouraging words! You are sweet!
CharterOakie,
Thanks!
"After the 26th, Gov. Palin and family need to disappear for a month and enjoy each other."
not till sarah gives an interview with hannity and smacks down the quiter nonsense, and gives her plans for the future.
then she needs to make lots of money, and give speeches.
Good news for Parnell:
Cook has him as "solid" for re-election.

Another item.
The complaint informs the Personnel Board of the unopened mail. The proof is a letter from Sarah to the Personnel Board.
There is no need to tell the PB to read their mail, but the complaint does that.
The PB might be unimpressed.

CodaCuda, ADN got a copy of this from McLeod before it was filed. That is a violation of the law and ADN is abetting this violation....unfortunately, the Legislature removed the penalties for this and no one noticed.

Would that make the complaint invalid on its face and get it tossed

Make that "election."
Thanks to Sarah's fast break pass to the forward who scores the layup.
Sarah and Meg both mentioned that. The other governor wannabees are hopping mad. Tough.
The national media mostly missed the play.
I think she made her plans quite clear, taking a page from her years out of office, between 2003, when she resigned from the AOG commission, to 2006, when she ran for Governor. She'll do the Simi Valley event, and probably
something else in the interim, but her events schedule will probably
be a little more leisurely this rest of the year, And events will ramp up next year with the book tour, the midterms, and other things as circumstances warrant.
Why isn't there a notarization on the adn version?
Did I miss it? Did the adn version omit part?
How can she swear to truth about hearsay. It is all, or almost all, hearsay. All she can say is that she heard it or read it, not that it is true.
I thought Governor Palin might get in trouble for wearing clothing that starts with a "v" and ends with a "t".
Seriously, don't these clothing complaints just sound like a scheme by a bunch of dudes just trying to get her naked? Really, what IS she allowed to wear?
I read the complaint and I found it to be "rambling" and "disjointed".
This complaint about Greta's husbands advice is so stupid. Under the same premise, I guess, the new Gov. will have to claim the advise Sarah gives him in his new position and he should be prepared to declare it at her hourly wage. She is paid as a Governor and giving another person advise on how to serve as a Governor...right??
Guess if your minister gives you advise you have to declare that also. And, how about her hair dresser. Did she give her expert advise beyond just the regular perm and set?? This could go on and on...it is endless besides being stupid.
Oh KTUU is doing their final hit piece now on kfqd...
What a joke!
What the media fail to address is their role in honest and up front journalizm!
After reading the complaint all i can say is this:
Andree, if you ever see men in white jackets coming your way, run, cause it ain’t the good humour people.
Nancy.
The vest valuation has another issue.
Do we start with some value, and then deduct the "promotional value" because Sarah wore it for a few minutes, to arrive at a net value?
What if the promotional value exceeds the market value?
We have the Arctic Cat complaints for reference.
Maybe I am just lazy. But if I were on the Personnel Board I would be thinking.....
"I've got kids and a spouse. I've got my job that pays the bills. I've got ballgames I have to go watch. I've got work around the house to do.
I love volunteering my time and gifts to the state that I love, but I'm gettin' kind a tired of this McLeod chick wasting my time with her vendetta against Palin."
OH MY GAWD...did anyone tape this KTUU crap with Jason Moore...?
Hey Jason...newflash...
Maybe if you were being a responsible News Organization...She would have granted you interviews...you flippin' CLOWN!
About the vest. I sew and sale items on the net. It would have to be a very, very special vest to retail for $150.00 or be made by a known designer. If this vest was made by a fan and even if it was beaded the wholesale cost would not be more the $50.00 and it is doubtful you could sell it for more the $75 to $100. I found out very quickly not to make things too fancy because of the time involved. Most people will not pay for the time involved for something made by an unknown person.
I have made a number of purses for weddings that have fancy detail and I charge between $15.00 and $25.00. A plain lined vest sells for no more then $50.00.
CruelaDev,
whats up?
This is not the time to get mad, it is the time to get even. Send to the AFT your excess.
I feel very sorry for McLeod. She doesn't see what a fool she is. Any future employment or position is now compromised.
I unfortunately expect at least one ethics complaint a day until the Governorship has changed hands. After that, I hope Van Flein has some great suggestions for Sarah.
juju:
You know I am one of the biggest fans that the guv has. But I think maybe McLeod may be on to something.
I heard that Palin went to Wal-Mart the other day in the old Jetta. Well, it seems Mr. Fix It (AKA Todd) didn't stay on top of the tire pressure. Seems the guv's tire was looking a little flat. Well, I heard that when she came out to the parking lot there was a note on her windshield that said...
"Your left front tire is low on air. Might want to check it out."
Can you BELIEVE that? Now, did the guv CLAIM this FREE automotive advice? I don't think so. You know how expensive a good mechanic is.
See, Ms. McLeod is on top of this stuff.
Oh bk..KTUU is running a "Wild Ride Special" on the Gov...and the newest piece was just a JOKE.
Jason Moore was whinning about how Sarah became "less open"..
Well Really Jason...No kidding?
You think if you did the DAMN job of a "Journalist's"..you would not have thse issues...KTUU sucks!
CruelaDev:
Now don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. ;)
I wonder if JAson Moore had his pacifier and blankey when he dreamed up that piece of CRAP!
DID MOMMY WIPE your backside too Jason?...Sounded like you had some crusty's left over!?
Wow, that complaint was totally lame. The white beaded vest???? LOL. That's the best Andree could come up with?
You know I was just reading Cinderella to my kids tonight, and I think it we could come up with a parody:
Cinderella = Palin
Evil Stepmother = Obama
Evil Step Sisters = Andree McLeod
Peggy Noonan
Katie Couric
Maureen Dowd
Mice, dog = Conservatives 4 Palin
Fairy Godmother = SarahPac / PUMAs
Prince = American electorate
Royal Ball = 2012 presidential election
Ha ha ha ... Good one, huh?
Actually to be more professional in my "opinion"...
It was supposed to be a piece about how the Palin Administration was not as "open" as they advertised during the campaign.
The problem I had with the piece was that it was less about Palin and more about "US"...meaning the media..not being spoon feed their stories. So it was really not about Palin...it was about them not getting the story...or story correct for that matter.
Yep, the handmade vest should not be over $150.
Maybe Andree is trying to catch the eye of the producers of the show, "I'm a Celebrity, Now Get Me Out of Here!"
Never heard of it? That is why she would be perfect for it!
Why these anklebiters are so stupid is that they back up Sarah's account of why she had to leave the Governor's chair.
If these people could have left well enough alone and then after Sarah left say hey we didn't file any ethics complaints against her-she didn't have to quit-it wasn't our fault.
But of course these folks are not all that smart.
Good grief Nancy you, chick, are a freakin' genius.
That's it! Ms. McLeod would be perfect for that show.
LOL
The Fox Nation has this report up.
Is Michelle Malkin turning against Sarah? She linked to a rightpundits column about the recent polls which says that these polls don't well for Palin at all! Of course, its all golden news for Romney.
Michelle Malkin backed Romney last time around.
Cruela Wrote : Jason Moore was whinning about how Sarah became "less open".
Actually, that's been a common complaint among journalists in Alaska.
From an Alaska Journal of Commerce, June 19th 2009 editorial.
“A quick, albeit unscientific survey of the state’s larger media outlets suggests that in the past six months there have been few — if any — one-on-one interviews where more than a couple of targeted questions were answered.
From a July 11, 2008 editorial by Rod Boyce, Managing Editor of the Fairbanks Daily News Miner -
For nearly seven months I have tried, with various degrees of effort, to get the governor to speak with the editorial board of the Daily News-Miner. The last time she appeared in our office was in December for a session consumed largely by comments from people accompanying her.
Just a thought.
Nancy, July 20, 2009 10:50 PM
Maybe Andree is trying to catch the eye of the producers of the show, "I'm a Celebrity, Now Get Me Out of Here!"
Never heard of it? That is why she would be perfect for it!
Nahhhh... I'm thinking "The Biggest Loser" would be a better fit for her.
Wilbur...
Can you honestly blame her?
The media quit doing their job..
Sarah NEVER quit doing hers!
They have NO right to complain and moan now about it!
World Magazine published a hit piece on Gov Palin and the "anklebiters".
The picture of Gov Palin was about the worst picture you could imagine, yet there was also a picture of a smiling, relaxed Andree McLeod.
In addition, it mentions Linda Kellon Biegel without mentioning the grotesque photoshopping of baby Trig.
I let Joel Belz and the editor have it, even though I really respect him and in fact his niece Emily (who also writes for World Magazine) was my daughters' roommate for a while in DC.
It was definitely a hit piece, from of all places World Magazine.
Bill, this week's mag?
WORLD never ceases to surprise me. If the article is as bad as you say, I'll be canceling my parents' subscription for them. They'll thank me later.
Isn't Andree McCleod worried she'll never find a job in Alaska after filing all these ethics complaints? Imagine an employer being afraid to bring her in for an interview for fear this might happen for them.
Unless she plans to move out of state she'll be fine (unless they do a background check on her to find multiple lawsuit filings then she's doomed to be unemployed for a good while).
It's just all so strange. Maybe she'll get a job in the White House....
wisetrog,
I don't see Michelle Malkin's link you mentioned. Was it on her Twitter or on her blog? Usually the "Trackbacks" links are automatically generated. I believe she is using Wordpress, so that's what it does. She has a disclaimer on there that views expressed by others are not endorsed by her.
Malkin is a strong Sarah defender.
Nancy:
You are on a roll again tonight! Someone suggested recently that you could be the new Erma Bombeck.
Or you could have your own TV show. A compendium of Nancy one-liners and other stories are much better than anything David Letterman has used in years.
I just hope you don't get spirited away to the lights of Broadway or Hollywood just yet. You have to put things in perspective and keep us laughing at C4P for the next 3-plus years.
Lipstick,
After she is kicked off that show, she could go on a new show coming out called "She's a Celebrity Stalker, Please Get Her Out Of Here!" Instead of being part of an ensemble cast,on this new show she could the S-T-A-R!
"It's just all so strange. Maybe she'll get a job in the White House...."
Are you sure she doesn't now?
This calls for an encore!

Bingo! Follow the money....it probaby leads right back to Axelrod and Co.
Nancy:
Ha. Yes, that is what she is shooting for. She wants to be the star.
I am sure she is down about Palin leaving office. Who will she harass now? What will she complain about. Who will she blame for everything? Who will she use as a model for her budding cell phone photography career?
And then every freakin' time she goes into Wal-Mart or Books-A-Million after March she will see that d*&^ book of Palin's STILL on the NYT bestseller list.
Sniff, sniff you know I'm kinda feelin the pain of Ms. McLeod.
wilsonpickett,
You are too sweet! Thanks!
I think that if I was on the personnel board, I would want to sue Andree McLeod for all of this nonsense!
This is beyond ridiculous!
Tasha, I think Sarah is just sick of all the shit. Maybe she's been reading Rules for Radicals. Have you read it? It basically says, Screw the truth, demonize your enemies.
Oh wait, that's what they've been doing to Sarah every since 8/29/08.
So, you're really gonna quibble when she rightly pegs Andree McLeod as a serial complainer? I mean, this woman has only filed 6 complaints. LOL.
The frivolous complaints spree will end when it is realized that it is having an effect, which is the opposite of what was intended. The last time the Democrats were taken over by radical thugs, the only result was to drive millions of democratic voters into the arms of Ronald Reagan.
If I am reading the runes right in Alaska, politicans from both sides of the isle will vie to to claim the 'Palin Legacy'. They will shun the anklebiters and the Alaskan 'progressives', knowing that any hint of association will be the kiss of death.
Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first render stupid.
Perhaps the World hit piece is sour grapes because didn't Palin's co-writer take a leave of absence from World to work with Palin?
If so, oh brother, aren't there any mature people working in journalism anymore?
Also, I believe McCloud has said she will continue to harass Palin for up to 2 years after she leaves office.
I really think someone (a vet) should protest these complaints.
I also think it would be great if the entire personnel board up and resigned because they consider themselves to be harassed and abused by this abuse of the process.
They volunteered to keep Alaskan government from more crimes regarding FBI raids, and instead have spent their time babysitting a gaggle of immature, vendetta-driven whackadoodles.
hrh,
you said:
>>Perhaps the World hit piece is sour grapes because didn't Palin's co-writer take a leave of absence from World to work with Palin?
I have the tiniest sliver of insight into World Magazine, so give them some leeway here.
Lynn Vincent is writing Sarah's bio, I have no doubt that it will be awesome.
So for the World piece, the author has to be looked at, plus I gave the whole deal to the editors at World and they said htey would get back to me.
The biggest thing on the article was really
- an unflattering picture of SP
- a very flattering picture of McLeod,
- the first two words in the article were "Andree McLeod", and before the first sentence was over, indicated that she had essentially "force SP to quit", or words to that effect, but definitely the article said "quit".
Let's just give World a little slack, after all, they have not been on C4P much !
"I have the tiniest sliver of insight into World Magazine, so give them some leeway here."
They can have as much as they give.
I wouldn't read the rag if I were stuck in a Doctor's waiting room with nothing else to do.
Larry,
really, it's not a rag at all. It's a sold Christian magazine.
Like you, I just think they got it DEAD WRONG.
But I still say give them a chance.
I am in no way trying to pick a fight with you, because I agree with your sentiment, but only 98%, not 100%.
But to me this is the same logic as saying that the Couric interview is the end of SP.
And I'm not saying, wait until the next edition comes out or the next article on her, but wait to see what is their response to my inquiry.
I read them the riot act (in a respectful manner), complete with links and points of error on their part, starting at the very first glance of an unflattering picture of SP.
World is a huge asset to this country, I am just saying, let's see what they say.
They have e-mailed me back saying that it has been passed on to the highest levels, and it's my guess that C4P editors are dissecting the article as well to better comment on the source of the author's info.
I bet RAM or someone could identify the source simply by reading the article.
Is this complaint going to have legs? Just saw this AP article
AP NewsBreak: Palin implicated in ethics probe
By RACHEL D'ORO, AP
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An independent investigator has found evidence that Gov. Sarah Palin may have violated ethics laws by accepting private donations to pay her legal debts, in the latest legal distraction for the former vice presidential candidate as she prepares to leave office this week.
The report obtained by The Associated Press says Palin is securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust, set up by supporters.
An investigator for the state Personnel Board says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the "official" legal defense fund.
The practical effect of the ruling on Palin will be more financial than anything else. The report recommends that Palin refuse to accept payment from the defense fund, and that the complaint be resolved without a formal hearing before the Alaska Personnel Board.
The fund aims to help Palin pay off debts stemming from multiple ethics complaints against her, most of which have been dismissed. Palin says she owes more than $500,000 in legal fees, and she cited the mounting toll of the ethics probes as one of the reasons she is leaving office.
A call seeking comment from her lawyer and an e-mail to her spokeswoman were not immediately returned.
Palin's friends and supporters created the Alaska Fund Trust in April, limiting donations to $150 per person. Organizers declined to say how much it has raised, and had hoped to raise about $500,000. A Webathon last month brought in about $130,000 in pledges.
In his report, attorney Thomas Daniel said his interpretation of the ethics act is consistent with common sense.
An ordinary citizen facing legal charges is not likely to be able to generate donations to a legal defense fund, he wrote. "In contrast, Governor Palin is able to generate donations because of the fact that she is a public official and a public figure. Were it not for the fact that she is governor and a national political figure, it is unlikely that many citizens would donate money to her legal defense fund."
The ethics complaint was filed by Eagle River resident Kim Chatman shortly after the fund was created, alleging Palin was misusing her official position and accepting improper gifts.
Palin was given a copy of the investigator's report a week ago, Chatman said Tuesday.
"It's an absolute shame that she would continue to keep the Alaska Fund Trust Web site up and running," Chatman told the AP.
At least 19 ethics complaints have been filed against Palin, most of them after she was named the running mate for GOP presidential candidate John McCain. Most of those have been dismissed, and Palin's office usually sends a news release with the announcement.
"She's not acknowledging the fact that the ethics complaint was credible," Chatman said. "When ethics complaints are dismissed, she's quick to publicly respond but this one, she's sitting on."
I thought this fund was cleared by the legal beagles.
