Glenn Beck Goes Over Three Million Viewers for Wednesday Show

TV by the Numbers Reports:

Though a little scandal might alienate advertisers, it’s pure ratings gold. Last night Glenn Beck had over 3 million viewers at 5pm, second only to O’Reilly for the night. But, Beck had more 25-54 viewers than O’Reilly (888K to 876K). I don’t watch or really even care about the cable news wars, but still…wow. Even though Beck airs before primetime, when there are fewer people watching TV, he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night.

As you may recall, Governor Palin posted a note about Glenn's show on her Facebook yesterday:

FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House.

Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch.

-Sarah Palin

Glenn had on Rush Limbaugh to discuss the Obama administration's potential stifling of free speech and takeover of private media (not just conservative talk radio) by using one of his many "czars" working in the Executive Branch who have not been vetted or confirmed by the Senate.

Click the image to watch a portion of the show:

Beck's 3 million viewers on Wednesday, after Governor Palin's Facebook note, is a significant increase from the 2.6 million viewers that he got on Tuesday, before Governor Palin's Facebook note.

They all fear her influence or regular people.

Keep up the good work Guv and have a good time wherever you are!

AWESOME!
Um, I thought we weren't supposed to listen to her anymore???

Wow, her influence is still amazing to this day. Still, I had no idea Glenn Beck would become so popular. Especially after his run his run on HLN.

techno August 27, 2009 6:38 PM

Sarah Palin writes a short note on her Facebook and Glenn Beck is the now rating giant over at Fox News.

Folks look up the definition of clout. You'll find it equals whatever Sarah Palin decides to put her stamp of approval on.

Jenny August 27, 2009 6:51 PM

Glenn, Rush, and Sarah. Doesn't get better than those three! If Sarah was actually on, the numbers would be astronomical. Still, this is a great feat. Congrats to Glenn, a good man.

Greg August 27, 2009 6:54 PM

It would be great if Gov. Palin could urge people to attend the 9-12 event, and get the same level of response or more. There would easily be half a million or more if she was going to be one of the speakers at the event. Imagine seeing her address 500,000-1,000,000 people on the Washington Mall, now imagine the sound of those same people chanting, "Sarah Sarah Sarah" it would echo all the way to the White House and Capital building. If she was going to be there, 0bama would head out because he wouldn't want to get all wee wee'd up.

GoneWithTheRINO August 27, 2009 6:54 PM

Good job, Sarah! Yay for Glenn! Hope Fox news continues to promote what a great reporter Beck is!

kckates August 27, 2009 6:54 PM

When Sarah speaks people listen...pure and simple...keep it up Sarah.

Sapwolf August 27, 2009 7:00 PM

Tea Partiers love Sarah.

She should announce, get her security detail ready, and write up a dynamite speech on liberty vs. tyranny.

A speech that would resonate nationwide and create even more of a rally against Obamacare and the administration and the Dem Congress.

Puma for Life August 27, 2009 7:05 PM

Does anyone know where I can go to watch or listen to the show?

LoveThatGirl August 27, 2009 7:06 PM

Thank you Sarah Palin,
You invited your friends and over 3 million watched Glen Beck on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.
Glen Beck beat out O'Reilly. Now that speaks volumes. Especially since most people don't watch TV at the 5:00 p.m. hour. According to TV by the numbers "he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night."

I bet Glenn Beck is feeling pretty good right about now.

Oh, by the way, It's great that all of obama's backers (advertisers) didn't have their ads on Glen Beck last night, can you imagine how many viewers they could've had. Oh well their loss.
God is good all the time. :)

Blessings, Irma

terri August 27, 2009 7:06 PM

Ya know, Glenn has had his share of critics in his day..and deservedly so. But his work on exposing the "czars" in this whitehose has been outstanding.

per AP...
"...Almost no one beats O'Reilly especially from the 5:00p.m. timeslot"

Take that BOR...I basically tolerate BOR. It seems like payback though with they way he treats Glenn and such..condescending at times.

per AP...
"Beck hits 3 million, 5 1/2 times the audience of MSNBC slobbering over the Kennedy story"

Ha Ha...Even WIPEOUT and a L&O repeat beat that out!

kjanlady August 27, 2009 7:14 PM

Puma for Life,

Glenn said it would be posted on his web site glennbeck.com

Also here in CST it is rebroadcast at 1am. Check your local schedule.

gardunne63 August 27, 2009 7:18 PM

Though I've not been a fan of the "Tea Parties" for my own reasons, I'm making plans to attend the DC rally on 9/12. I live only two hours away from DC and my intuition tells me that Sarah will be there.

(My intuition will issue a press release on 9/13 if Sarah does not show up and I will blast her and Meg for disappointing so many Americans because she once mentioned the words "Tea Party" in a twitter note several months ago. Shouldn't millions of Americans imply from her writing the words "Tea Party" that she was 100% certain to attend the BIG one in D.C.??? Just sayin'...)

Whitney The Pipsqueak August 27, 2009 7:22 PM

Just watched another Claire McCaskill town hall on Gateway Pundit and got a really good laugh.

She actually said " You have every right to fire me." The crowd went wild clapping and cheering for quite a while.

She lied to the people: " The Republicans have been very involved in drafting the health care legislation. They just don't want to claim it."

The AP came out with a story that the audience "began heckling during the opening prayer". An audio tape of the opening of the meeting proved that there was no opening prayer but they did say the pledge of allegience and the entire audience participated very respectfully.

I wonder if McCaskill is getting the message yet.

Greg August 27, 2009 7:26 PM

I found this posted on Palin's Facebook:

Tuesday Joseph People like Glen and Sarah don't live long in places like Nigeria where i am originally from, they would have been killed. Thank God it is different in United state but if we do not take some of the things Glen is revealing seriously......we are... seeing a free and democratic republic slidding into dictatorship like Nigeria was, they will try all they can to silence these people. Greg:

I have refrained from referring to this topic for quite awhile now but since you posted what you did I do think that we at C4P have to see every PUBLIC move and I mean that EVERY PUBLIC MOVE that Sarah Palin chooses to make through this prism, and of course that includes anytime she is apparently invited somewhere and does not attend.

And for this reason I am glad that Sarah is now a private citizen. She can be as elusive and incommunicado as she wants to or needs to be without the MSM knowing where she is or having to account to it where she has been.

We must all pray for Sarah; that is a given.

MsLiberty August 27, 2009 7:42 PM

@Greg -- That's really scary. I thank Sarah for advising us to watch Glenn's series this week. I usually miss him because he is on at 4 here, but I've made a point to watch. Am I the only one who gets the uneasy feeling that something really sinister is going on? It's interesting to me that Sarah encouraged people to watch; makes me wonder if she and Beck didn't chat beforehand and if they aren't both (Rush, too, no doubt) actual targets of this shadow government. I don't know . . . I'm usually not given to conspiracy theories, but Glenn is definitely hinting that SOMETHING is going on. I wonder if the reason our girl is always in some undisclosed location and making so few public appearances is because it's for her safety. I am like Rush, I hate to think something like this about our government (or maybe more accurately the subversives that are backing Obama), but Glenn is obviously trying to tell us something. He did mention today in a rather offhand way how many death threats he's been getting. I really worry for Sarah's safety, and the safety of her family. I would LOVE to see her in DC next month, but part of me wonders if it's just too risky. There will be thousands of people there and it's not like she has Secret Service detail.

Possibly I'm just paranoid, but when you see stuff like Glenn has been airing this week, when you see the leftists actually paying their own to intimidate people on our side, roughing them up, vandalizing buildings to make it look like a right-wing whack job did it . . . it's hard not to wonder. I'd love to know what "emergency" this is that Glenn fears is coming.

Stay safe, Gov. Palin! We love you!

ALA:

Speaking for myself my expectations for Sarah are not too high. Sarah is a superstar like Tiger Woods. Did I expect that TW would not win a major in 2009? A big no! Likewise, I always expect the best and the unexpected from Sarah and I have not been disappointed so far.

GoneWithTheRINO August 27, 2009 7:54 PM

MsLiberty, I too fear for Sarah and Beck's safety. We need to keep them in our prayers.

AnnO August 27, 2009 8:03 PM

Ms Liberty,
I've been listening to Glenn for a long time. He's right on the money. All this "CZAR" stuff is absolutely scary, he's forming his own troups, Black Pathers, Acorn, SEIU, and Unions. They are not voted in and only have to report to the president, which leaves them to do whatever, whenever they want.
I think that George Soros is going to TANK the ecomomy AGAIN!! which will allow Obama to impose Marshall Law on the country and go after anyone who resists him.
People need to realize that "Revelation" is happening right NOW! Be prepared, pray, be aware of what is going on, stand your ground, and pray, pray, pray for the safety of our protectors ie: Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Tammy Bruce, Laura Ingraham, because without them we would not have a clue what is happening to us as individuals and as a country. C4P has the best editors, investigators and the best Palin base ever. Love you all (except TROLLS).
God bless all of you and our country and all who still believe in GOD the ALLMIGHTY

LT August 27, 2009 8:15 PM

I am relieved to see that we are understanding the dangerous times these are - patricularly for Sarah. I said before: Heroes often don't survive even if their cause does and that is why we have to be ready to take the baton ourselves. Also, remember the threat she is. I fear the powers aligning see the control of the world's wealth in their grasp, and the power that goes with it. Imagine the lengths they will go through to ensure their goals and eliminate whatever may get in the way.

"I think it's time we had a national conversation about anonymous. We need to get past all the liberals and recognize that we are our own best hope for overcoming trolls. We need conservatives, not liberals. Conservatives are our Sarah Palin. And we need to have change in anonymous."

"These people haven't had Sarah Palin for fifty years. So you can't be surprised if they get bitter and cling to their liberals and their liberals and their trolls. That's what my campaign is about. Teaching all the little people in this country that they can have conservatives."

"You know, there's a lot of talk in this country about anonymous. Well I think Americans are tired of the same old liberals. Ordinary Americans believe in conservatives, they want less liberals, they just aren't sure if their leaders believe in Sarah Palin."

Yesterday I promised to record the Glenn Beck show, upload and post link. Unfortunately during the conversion process to prepare it for upload my system crashed (I have a dedicated system for this stuff) and I was unable to complete.

In the meantime if any one counted on my upload please accept my sincere apologies.

I have a strong desire to go to 9/12 in DC; don't know how long of a drive it is, but I think at least 9 hours from here. There are busses going, but I think all booked...lots of folks going from NC. I think it will be a real crowd.

Are you sure you’re under 18? Ask you parents to see your birth certificate maybe they just tell you you’re under 18 so you don’t get to drunk.
If you really are that age tell your parents that your C4P friends are really proud of them for doing a great job in bringing you up.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck are sounding a clarion call to Americans. In my 25 years of listening to talk radio, I have never seen these guys push their listeners to participate in civil discourse as I have in the last 7 months. They know what the stakes are and I believe their message is getting out. If the Obama administration moves to stifle their voices, I truly believe there will be armed revolution.

John, why do you think the elderly are so stupid. I guess you could call me elderly as I qualify as a senior citizen and I still can think for myself.

I don't need someone else to tell me what to be afraid of or not afraid of.

I think you have some stereo type of old people; well we baby boomer are not stupid or easily scared. We have brains, so stop being so insulting to your elders who know a lot more about life than you.

We know truth when we hear it and integrity when we see it, that's why we didn't vote for Obama in the first place and why you will now find us over here supporting Sarah Palin.

I really hate stereotypes.

Lakerfanalways August 27, 2009 10:00 PM

@John
What do you think HR3200 is, what do you think the VA death book is. If that isn't death panels I don't know what is. First of all, Death Panels is NOT in the bill, she was DESCRIBING what HR3200 is. Perhaps if you get off of your obama kool aid and actually READ the bill you would understand that she was right. Also, if she was lying about it, how come they already removed it, you can't remove a lie

militantfeather August 27, 2009 10:10 PM

Actually John, you Obamacare people just disgust me when you feign concern for the elderly.

Obamacare will subsidise the uninsured (most of whom make a calculated decision not to take out healthcare) by reducing funding for the elderly. Typical liberal hypocrisy.

Woot!!!

I agree about talk radio, and when you factor in the enormous best sellers by Levin, Beck and Malkin (with similar themes) it really is a reflection of just how many like-minded people out there feel their liberties are being threatened.

The last three days of watching Beck has converted me to a regular viewer of his hour-long show. What he is uncovering this week is stunning. He's putting the media to shame. He's even putting the conservative media to shame, because all they do is rant about what we already know. But Beck is uncovering things, looking under the rocks that no one else is.

Simply amazing work. Even Hannity is a distant second (though he was one of the first to alert us to Jeremiah Wright...who, actually, is small potatos compared to the people Beck is outing.)

Brian72 August 28, 2009 12:11 AM

I do think that Sarah's shout out on Facebook brought more viewers to Beck's show, but folks, do not discount the power of Rush.

His audience is in the 20-25 million range, and his appearance definitely had a lot to do with this surge in viewers.

Rush is legendary for melting internet servers with one mention of a website on the air.

In the 5 minutes after he mentions a site, if it is not a top of the line set up it will crash.

Even the best sites will have traffic surges that cause a noticeable slowdown.

If Rush ever gets in the habit of mentioning C4P specifically be prepared! This site may be brought down temporarily by a massive surge in visits.

Sarah does not get exclusive credit on this one, but when you have Rush+Palin, that is ratings gold any time, any where!

Syntax_Game August 28, 2009 1:05 AM

WOW! A big shout out from an unemployed teen social network blogger. yeah.

It ain't ratings gold if nobody is willing to pay for those ratings. The last two, Red Lobster and Vonage will be gone soon. Then maybe Mr. Beck can soon become an unemployed teen social network blogger. Oh wait, Beck HAS a radio show where as the unemployed teen social network blogger from Alaska can't. Oh well.

While I agree that Gov Palin's influence is great, in this instance I believe Beck's ratings would have spiked anyway due to the fact that Rush was on regardless whether Palin had mentioned his show or not. Anytime Rush grant's an interview, that show will show a spike in ratings

Glenn just said on his radio show that Sarah just contacted him (a note) and said she has been watching his tv show all week and she said "WOW"

I have been listening to Glenn Beck for years and he is the only one who 2 years ago predicted the gov't take over of banks and private companies. He foresaw the economic crises 2 years ago, but of course, no one listened to him because they said he was a "nut".
