More on "Going Rogue: An American Life"
You can now pre-order the book from either Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Nobles has included the following synopsis:
Sarah Palin burst onto the political scene at the height of the 2008 presidential campaign and overnight became a national sensation. Adored by the right, bitterly reviled by the left, she is the most polarizing figure to emerge in American politics in decades. Yet for all the dirt digging and gossip that has surrounded her, very little is actually known about who she is, what she believes, and above all, about her plans for the future. In her new book, Sarah Palin tells the story of her Alaskan upbringing, her marriage and family life, her political career, her religious beliefs, and her meteoric rise to national prominence. With her customary blunt common sense, she sets the record straight about the many myths and lies that have been spun around her and lays out her vision for an America that is strong, independent, and free.
John Fund from the Wall Street Journal writes about "Sarah Palin, a Soon-to-Be Publishing Phenom."
Sarah Palin may no longer be governor of Alaska, but she's certainly destined to become a best-selling author. HarperCollins, her publisher, has announced the print-run of her memoir will be a staggering 1.5 million copies -- equal to the print-run of Senator Ted Kennedy's posthumous autobiography published this month. Publishing sources tell me that such a giant run is only ordered up when there is clear evidence from booksellers and surveys of massive interest in a book.

At Barnes and Nobele if you click, the "I'm a lefty buyer" icon, your Sarah Palin book will come with a free pair of Depends! Isn't that thoughtful?
Nancy you are killing me softly.
Charter - I think I will have to be Nancy and Lipstick's driver. It would definitely take a LTG to control them. Well forget control, to keep them from getting us all thrown in the loony bin.
Nancy - Another classic line. You may want to include RINOs especially the ones that worked for McCain.
JeanA - So I guess Nancy's postings are to post what "American Pie" was to songs.
# 5 already! we are not alone!
PEC,
Yes. The McCain staff that she inherited were lost as to what a conservative would do for the ticket. I think Governor Palin will give the straight story, without being nasty. The Palin Way.:)
Yeah FredHeadBill, I noticed that...it opened this morning at 28th on the B&N sales list, and has been rising all day. Blog pool on when it goes Number One?
What now?
It's seems that we are acting like fans of a Mega Rockstar too anxious to make our favorite Rockstar's debut Album reach #1 at Billboard Hot Top 100.
And to know that the actual public release of the book is still on November 17 .... what are WE? Diehards? LOL!
Wowwoweeeeeeeeeeeeeh!
Woot!!!!!!!!!!
Go, Sarah! Go!
"Isn't that thoughtful?"
I am still laughing.
It is now #5 on Barnes and Noble.
PEC,
Are you the one that said I was an asylum escapee?:)
My husband says I am a master at stating the obvious. The other day I said something very obvious to him, and he said: "how did you put those puzzle pieces together?" Which is exactly the reaction I was looking for from him. I was laughing very hard, and he just went back to staring straight ahead.
So, the more sarcasm the better if you are driving Lipstick and I around.:)
TommyReport,
Please put the Amazon pre-order link in your post, too. Many people use that site and if we're going to post this at FR and other sites, we need to give all options. I posted it a few hours ago in the other thread, and at that time, the rank was over 34,000; now, it's at #246.

Woohoo! I preordered me book today from Barnes and Noble and when I did, it was ranked #29. I just looked again, and it is now ranked #5. You go! Sarah.
Let's make this lady some money!
JeanA,
You are making me smile!:)
"She's certainly destined to become a best-selling author", will bring out the best in liberals.
She will go beyond "best-selling". What would be the next level up?
I just ordered one. This thing could be number 1 with a rocket before the day is out!!!
Really like the cover BTW.
When I ordered the book from BN it was #688, within an hour it was #29, and now it's #5. I'd say that was an excellent rate of climb. Kennedy's book was at #9 and is now down to #10.
Nancy,
Haha! Oh goodness, you have been in rare form the past few days!
Nancy,
I think it would be to Barnes and Noble's advantage to create a special liberal gift package: Governor Palin's book, a package of depends, and a pacifier.
Name change!...When "The 'Cuda's"... book comes out...
O'blabla... will be...O'BooHoo...
Who is going to console O'blaba when Governor Palin's book sales pass his...probably sometime this week?
FLOTUS and O'blaba's daughters (what are their names?) are going to have to be strong for the man who wears the creased pants in the family!
BTW...Nancy...Great Idea!...rotflmao...
Whitney,
I like your package option for liberals!:) Great idea!
It's really funny watching some journalists seriously juggling with this trying to define "rogue" in their own favorable terms when Sarah is just having some fun! Come on! We all know what Sarah means here!

Former Sen. Rick Santorum weighs in with his thoughts on Sarah's memoir....as he heads to Iowa.
Via NRO's Robert Costa
Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R., Pa.) tells NRO that he looks forward to reading former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s upcoming memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life, once it is published on November 17. “Sarah has jumped onto the scene and has been hammered by the mainstream media,” says Santorum. “This is an opportunity for her to show a more thoughtful side. She has a gift for prose. Hopefully that comes across.”
Santorum says he knows how it feels to be a conservative author dealing with unfriendly critics. In 2005, he published It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good. That book, wrote Congressional Quarterly, “whatever its virtues as a policy document and declaration of principles,” was also a “treasure trove of material for Democratic opposition researchers . . . working overtime to portray Santorum as an extremist moralizer.”
With It Takes a Family, “we went through the book to see if it had any ‘gotcha’ lines,” recalls Santorum. “The media loves to take a small part of a book only to twist and turn it around. Out of a 400-page book, they pulled out three lines and said ‘this is what the book is about.’ That was our fault, and we should have fixed those three lines. If Sarah’s book touches any of the issues in the Holy Grail of liberalism, she too will be attacked by critics on the left.”

Just ordered my book and they offered me 10 free copies of "the Audacity of Hope". I declined. The order clerk said "your order will be shipped on the 1st of November" and I asked her if that was possible since it was not supposed to be released until the 17th. Hope it's released early to bookstores.
Two words on a Facebook post=PeeBO all wee-weed up.
Multiply those two words by all the words in her 400 page book=PeeBO dehydrated.
Hm, I don't know where to pre-order my bunch from. B&N she's up to 5, but Amazon she's still behind because you can't search for it yet.
Intrade update....
I reported yesterday Sarah had firmly moved into second place on the list for who is the probable republican nomineee in 2012.
Her surge to a solid second seemed to coincide exactly with the news of the release of her book Nov 17.
Well the surge is continuing today and she is now breathing down Romneys neck for 1st place.
If her surge continues at the current pace, she could very likely move past Romney by tommorrow.
Again I dont put a whole lot of stock in intrade ecspecially this far before 2012, but still I would rather be on top or near the top, than hanging around in the mid pack or bottom of the pack.
I will tell you this though, if you bought sarah "stock" about a week ago and then sold it right now, you would have made about a 250% profit on your investment.
You know guys, I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you on January 20th 2012. Our C4P after-inaugration party will rival any party ever given for any President, I'm sure. Think we should begin pre-booking a hotel? Anyone live in Washington DC.
What a party, can't wait.
Andrew,
It is a little cheaper on Barnes and Noble.
LTGEN PEC,
How about manning the .50 cal on their HUMMER?
If COL OldDude starts laughing too hard and swerving off the road, you can and should relieve him at that point. Don't wait until he knocks over a couple lamp posts.
If you do need to relieve him, make sure you also get his sunglasses.
---------------
Geez, gotta take a break so I can pre-order!
We should keep a list of all the condescending phrases used in Palin articles. (Funds' blog contained NONE, thankfully. And the book description was free of them as well.)
Here are some of my favorite words and phrases that are thrown out "objectively" in a subjective fashion whenever liberal reporters are forced to cover Sarah Palin:
"uneven performance" WTF?
"troubled campaign" Again, WTF?
"controversial" As if no other politician is?
"gaffe-prone" name the gaffes, then!
"inexperienced" Hello, Obama!
"popular with the GOP base" And that is bad, how?
"high negatives" And 905,000 Facebook fans, second only to Obama in political popularity?
What objective reporters SHOULD use in their reports:
"also wildly popular with libertarians and ex-Democrats"
"attractive to fiscally responsible adults"
"16 years experience in elected office"
"inspirational to women"
"much-needed advocate for special needs family"
"not gaffe prone"
"slaughtered Joe 'Katie's Diner No Longer Exists' Biden in the VP Debate"
"charismatic"
"gifted orator"
"reformer"
"took on her own party"
"80% approval as Gov before VP run"
"hailed by Newsweek in 2007 as a 'pragmatic and post-partisan reformer.'"

I don't mind paying more if it would help her numbers on Amazon to get caught up.
Andrew you can now make that #4 at B&N.
Just ordered my first two copies from Barnes and Noble.
It's now ranked at Number 4 on that site. It certainly doesn't take long for Sarah Palin to have an impact does it?
Recovering Democrat,
Was "gaffe prone" just Joe Biden projecting?

Looks like someone beat me! I just refreshed the page and now she's #4 at B&N.
kjanlady,
That would be a hoot!
It's already #4 at Barnes and Noble. She's stuck in the 200's over at Amazon.
At Amazon, Andrew, if you order it today and the price is lower on the release date, Amazon will credit your card the difference. So, it could end up being cheaper at Amazon in the long-run.
Joe Biden's book...
How to do the...Hokey Pokey...
Has a book ever sold out due to pre-orders before it was even released?
That would be fun to meet everyone at the inauguration/Whitney's 30th birthday party! :) The inauguration in 2013 would be 8 days after my 30 birthday!:) I'm a complete nerd, but I can't imagine a better way to celebrate that "milestone" than seeing the first woman inaugurated as president!
If B&N will ship the first, I'm going to order another--Amazon told me the 23rd. (To be fair, I picked the free shipping option.).
You it's sad when a lefty like Michael Wolf gets it, more clearly than the likes of a supposed Republican like Frum or Parker:
http://www.newser.com/off-the-grid/post/286/sarah-palin-is-winning.html#atssh-twitter
I use Amazon alot, but this time I am going to walk right into the Chicago Borders and pick it up in my hand the day it comes out.
RD @3:35 - fabulous!
Glad you're among us.
Yogi41 is right.
Most everything I've ever pre-ordered from Amazon has dropped in price by the time its shipped.
And you'll be credited with the lower price.
I did order another from B&N but I dint see a delivery date.
It is #4.
Having it go to #1 today will make wish I had bought a lot of Kimberly Clark stock.
Rated number 4 @ Barnes & Noble
Already has 2 reviews?

You know guys, I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you on January 20th 2012.
You'll be a year early, but at least you'll get a good seat!
It moved up to #137 on Amazon.
If we were a gambling sort of group, it would be interesting to run a pool on what the current "printing" number is at 00:01 AST.
Yes, kjanlady, I, too, was wondering how people could have already rated it????
Judging by the ratings, looks like overzealous fans. ;)
charter Oakie - Would love to man the .50 but I think the MK-19 (the automatic Grenade Launcher) would be better. Of course the Convoy will require a gunner in the lead and trail vehicle. Please don't let Nancy get ahold of the wheel in the lead vehicle. No telling where we would end up.
Rank on Amazon is 137 now
I saw someone on twitter complaining that amazon is "burying" her book. It's hard to search for and find right now. The being said, it is impressive that the book is at #137. I'm sure once it becomes more visible on their site, then it will jump even more.
Amazon sometimes seems to have a political agenda.Let's see what happens though. Amazon did delete 1984 off of people's Kindles a while back.
Looking to join you all too! I think Philly would be a great place for an inauguration, it is the city of our forefather's, where it all happened :-)
posted for funny comments.
By the way, please ignore all of my grammar mistakes lately. My proofreading skills are non-existent when I am excited!:)
Update on the Politico Poll

Yes! I'm excited to read it. 65 %
I might skim through it at the bookstore. 6 %
No way. 29 %

Does the inaugaration have to be in DC? Why not in Kansas, where that town that is the center of the lower 48. It is for the people not the Washington Insiders. Could see Sarah do a round the US inaugaration. I mean if she is Going Rogue take it to the max.
I have a question. Does Barnes and Nobles include actual store sales?
At 1500 Central the Barns and Noble top ten are:
1. Have a Little Faith -- Albom
2. Lost Symbol -- Brown
3. I, Alex Cross -- Patterson
4. Going Rogue: An American Life -- Palin
5. Dog Days -- Kinney
6. The Murder of King Tut -- Patterson
7 Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government -- Beck
8. Rough Country -- Standford
9. The Last Song -- Sparks
10. True[sic] Compass: A Memoir -- Kennedy
I didn't see anything in the first fifty by or about Obama.
If I remember correctly, she didn't hold her gubernatorial inauguration in Juneau, but instead of Juneau. I don't know how moving a presidential inauguration would be perceived though. I'm a proponent of having in Springfield, Illinois. It would be the ultimate "in your face" to President Obama as he announced his candidacy and his VP here. She would never do anything disrespectful like that, but it would be a nice short drive or walk for me. :)
Okay- raise of hands: who has already ordered the book?
My hand is raised! I ordered 2 books so I am going to raise both hands as soon as I am done typing.
I ordered 5 from Amazon and two from Barnes & Noble. Will buy another one early on the day of release, take the day off, and read!
My Christmas shopping is done!
whitney - How would that be disrespectful? Last I checked Lincoln was a Republican. Heck maybe Wassilla Alaska. I am sure all the DC blowhards would just love to have to go there.
K Carpenter,
I have not ordered just yet. I am waiting on my better half to tell me how many copies to order for her side of the family but I do anticipate ordering at least 8 copies.
Does Sarah earn more money if more copies are sold over a certain number maybe like the 1.5 million first run??? Or do you think her contract was for a set figure in the millions.???
She is now #2 at Barnes and Noble.
No. 2 on B&N Best Seller!!
Just ordered a copy from Amazon. It still can't be found thru the normal search. It's at #137.
I ordered mine. *happy dance*
Up to #2 on Barnes and Noble passing Dan Brown. Sorry about that Dan.
paperson,
I think it has to be in the top 100 for it to be searched through their search function, which is why I was pushing for folks to buy it on Amazon.
It's clear she'll be #1 at B&N, which is great. But, Amazon is huge and it's the site that gets quoted a lot on the newscasts.
I ordered by book. I am a freak about using my CC number onine.
onine = online
by = my
I ordered 2 copies from Amazon. One I'll read, the other will go to a friend or relative after I've read the first one and decided how it would go over. I hope I can get an autographed copy for myself, and beyond that, I'm not sure yet.
Law...I'm taking your advice...(Grotto) on my trip to Iowa...Thank You!
Cool! She just broke the 100 mark over at Amazon! She's at 86 now. :)

Up to #86 on Amazon

1 from Amazon
Typing "Sarah Palin" in the Amazon search box still doesn't bring up her book, but the results are rather interesting.
#86 on Amazon, #2 on B&N.
#2 B&N, #86 Amazon.
Sarah talked about a higher calling.
God is good all the time.
Blessings, Irma

......But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Pre-ordered mine on Amazon
Just love this, the book isn't even out yet and already we are trying to push her to No. 1.
At the rate it's going they'll have to readjust the initial print order and do her book tour on facebook.
The left just can’t handle it. Someone posted the following as a review at B&N:
I find it sad that someone with Mrs. Palin's obvious ignorance is able to put a book on the bestseller list before it has even been published.
Yes it’s sad, but not for us!
I ordered mine and one for my Mom from B&N. She has a member discount card.
I may order one from Amazon as well.
I think when the book comes out we need to have ground rules. I love to read and savor it. I will not stay up all night and read because part of the fun is jumping up in the morning and having a record run time to be able to read again.
My point is people need to NOT give away the good parts till everyone has time to read the book.
Deal??? :)
Irma - amen and amen, sister.
LoveThatGirl!
LoveThoseComments!
(And still hoping for another video like "America.")
-------------
Too much work and fun today; still haven't pre-ordered. (GET ON IT, C.O.!)
---------------
PEC - that's affirmative on both counts.
No way Nancy is driving; she is to be chauffeured in high style.
I'm with you Lipstick:
Anyone who gives away the best parts of "Going Rogue" before the rest of us get a chance to read it will be forcibly locked up in a small closet with Hank AND Kwaisi.
Lipstick said:

I second that.
Especially for people like me whom reading a 400 page book takes longer then 20 minutes.
NO SPOILERS PLEASE!
Charter:
BREAKING NEWS:
Palin's book JUST SOLD OUT of the 1.5 million printing...Sorry, you were being a good taxpayer and working and MISSED OUT.
sarc/ ;)
KentonAK: Yes, that punishment should be deterent enough to prevent people from giving away the good parts. That would be like watching a movie with someone who leans over and whispers the ending before you see it...not cool.
We need to have a special book thread that is on going and a rule that no one says anything book related on any other thread!
OK, I ordered one from Amazon too. Along with a couple of books for my boy for Christmas that are being released soon....the newest Wimpy Kid book coming out and the newest Clue 39 book coming out. My boy is a freakin genius and loves to read! But enough of my Mom bragging stuff.
I plan to take my time reading it and underline things too so it is easy for me to refer back to them since I can find them easier. I am weird and underline things in books, I guess I got it from college days, anyway, that takes time so I am like Sheya and take longer than 20 minutes to read a book.
I guess what I mean is I am not going to just READ this book but STUDY this book.
Last thing. Those people who said in the survey they are not going to read her book....."You Lie".
Lipstick - deal.
BTW, "five-spiral crash" troll on the Open Thread was VERY CONCERNED earlier today that Barbarian Babes might feel demeaned.
I can handle my own battles, as you will see, but if you share Mia's point of view on the matter (which she registered in both Italian and English), you may want to let "crash" know about it.
Open Thread.
Her book is now #1 on Barnes and Noble. Is it wrong that I've been tracking this all day while at work? I mean I really don't think so.
lol I'm sorry scratch that. I was looking at the initial list when her name comes up. She's still #2. She'll be 1 soon though.
My bad.
Charter:
LOL. I am feelin the love and concern from the troll.
Last time I felt demeaned was when I listened to Obama speak.

Basically, what you're saying is there won't be any mention of the book until we've all read it. *g* The whole book will be "the good parts."
Mia, you're welcome. I wish you a safe and joyous trip.
ATTENTION!!!! ATTENION!!!!
ANY C4PER'S WHO ARE IN THE MINNEAPOLIS/ST.PAUL AREA WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND A MIDIGHT PARTY FOR "GOING ROUGE AN AMERICAN LIFE" I HAVE A MANAGER OF ONE OF THE BIG BOOKSTORES WHO WILL PUT ONE ON FOR US IF WE HAVE INTEREST!!! DETAILS WILL BE FORTHCOMING!!

Lipstick - LOL!
And...meanwhile I got my pre-order done!!
BOO-YEAH!
(Cramer, you don't mind, do you?)
Just pre-ordered mine @ B&N can't wait :)
Argh -- no release date delivery from Amazon? Bezos must be an O-bot. ;o) Does anyone know if B&N will guarantee delivery on the 17th? I want this book ON the release date -- I'll go to the bookstore instead if I can't get it delivered by then. Maybe I order online and keep that one for a gift and then go out and buy at Borders on the day of? I don't want to miss out on the reading party. ;o)
Amazon normally ships to be delivered on the release date, if they have the books on time. Alot will depend on who has the books and when. Out of the hands of Barnes and Noble and Amazon all together.
