Poll: Joe Wilson's Constituents Side with Him

JR's favorite pollster is currently polling Congressman Joe Wilson's district to ascertain the impact, if any, from the "you lie" comment he directed at Obama last night. Right now, despite an attempt by the far-left to demonize Wilson, the data shows that Wilson's constituents view Obama as the liar.

On the question as to whether they believe Barack Obama was lying when he said his health care plan would not cover illegal immigrants, Wilson's constituents overwhelmingly side with him:

167 interviews- was Obama lying about covering illegal immigrants? 88 yes, 60 no, 19 unsure

On the question as to whether Wilson's comments make them more or less likely to vote forhim:

After 145 interviews 66 say Wilson calling Obama liar makes them more likely to vote for him, 59 say less likely, 20 say no diff.

The overall analysis:

[S]o based on what we're seeing so far sounds like Wilson's constituents are with him on this one

The numbers could change as more respondents are polled but I doubt it. Wilson's respondents seem to be well-informed as an overwhelming majority of them thus far recognize that Obama was indeed lying.

Update: The data ends up showing that Wilson's constituents agree with most conservatives. Wilsons's action may have been inappropriate but his allegation against Obama was accurate.

Voters there do think Wilson's action was inappropriate, but agree with the sentiment.
