Stuart Schwartz: Sarah Palin vs. Dr. Death
Stuart Schwartz has a great article in today's American Thinker. Here's an excerpt:
Ezekiel Emanuel is upset. The president's health care czar sees the growing resistance to his vision, to his brave new world of government-run "communitarian" health care in which politicians and bureaucrats control one-sixth of the economy and 100% of our bodies. He doesn't quite understand how it all came apart on him, but he does know who started the unraveling: Sarah Palin.
Where does she get off attacking him? Sarah Palin, it seems forever Sarah Palin. And he wonders, as have so many others, what it takes to put a stake through her heart? People should listen to him, not Sarah Palin. He is the philosopher king of Democrat health care. And he went to Harvard, you know.
One day he was vacationing in the Italian Alps, a top-level government bureaucrat and Democrat insider enjoying the fruits of his labors on behalf of the common good. Government health care was cruising and Zeke was the guy Time magazine predicted will build the most "equitable and ethical" health care system north of Cuba. Marty Peretz, his friend and publisher of The New Republic, described him as quintessential Harvard, "very impressive" and stuffed with "gravitas."
And then he got the call: Sarah Palin had done the unthinkable. She had read the health care bill. Mainstream journalists hadn't read the bill. Congress hadn't read its own bill. But Sarah Palin did. Sarah Palin! He has a medical degree and doctorate in political philosophy from Harvard. The only Harvard she knows is the chunk of ice off Prince William Sound, Harvard Glacier.
Then she writes something on Facebook -- Facebook, for Obama's sake! -- and suddenly the president, congress, the media, and everyone who is anyone inside the beltway is scurrying for cover. Palin wrote that she wanted nothing to do with Obama's "death panel," the collection of bureaucrats who Zeke was so proudly putting together to assess the "level of productivity" that would determine individual access to medical care
They went after her, but...it was over. Everyone was talking death panels. Sarah Palin had let people know: if you're old, if you're sick, if you're disabled, they're targeting you. It became Mrs. Mom vs. Dr. Death, the governor vs. the terminator.

Just mailed the Death Czar Dr. Zeke a copy of Sarah's Facebook article and a Depends coupon.
Reminded him that he would stand before a judge someday to answer for his crimes against humanity. I told him don't worry though about it being a "Death Panel" since he would already be dead. Asked him how he thought that judge would view his life's work of trying to get the elderly and infirm to die for the good of the state. Hope the creature has nightmares for as long as God allows him to live. He gives me the creeps.

Caught Carl Rove with Gretta last night... Roves comments regarding Sarah and Hong Kong.
Paraphrasing! "If She doesn't just get on a plane and jot down a few notes on her way to Hong Kong... but does some in-depth study and analysis... present herself as credible and reliable... she might do some good".
Exposes Roves disdain for Sarah... "If she doesn't just get on a plane".... How condescending!

Yes, I saw Rove, there was discussion on this on other threads last night.
Some defended Rove and even think he's working with her.
I am not one of them.
There was NO GOOD REASON for him to say "scribble some notes on the flight over." The ONLY REASON to say this was to belittle her. Based on what evidence does he insinuate that she has EVER scribbled her notes on the way to a speech?
Sure, he sugarcoated it by saying "she could do some good," but even that is condescending, patronizing, and belittling.
Someone else postulated that perhaps Rove is behind the Repub groups (Simi valley, FL women) who have publicly dissed Sarah regarding speaking events.
I find that MUCH more plausible than that he is working for her.
Having to learn much to my chagrin that Dana Perino also dismisses Palin out of hand tells me that ANYONE associated with the Bushes is working against Palin and not for her.
Apparently the Bushes have gone over to KBH and Romney, which makes Palin persona non grata. Rove is too much of a canny operator to openly diss her.
But his comments on Greta were very distasteful when you understand that he was the one who perhaps telegraphed his plans when he said after her resignation, "gosh, when she was governor she had a valid excuse to turn down some of the requests she gets. Now she doesn't have any reason."
Hmmmmm. And since that day, two Repub groups have whined about her not coming to their events.

They are thinking of the people, yes, or course, that's it. Or at least the people they think have lived complete lives.

Maybe appointing Ms. Palin to a decision making panel in the reformed insurance program would provide more balance. It would be a very difficult job, but this might eliminate some of the problems of approval.

I, too am not too crazy for Rove either. He appears to be a little too sneaky for me.
And Dana Perino, have gotten that feeling that she's not too fond of Gov Palin either. Was starting to like her but there is something about her that makes me question.
The more these people speak, the more my ears are hearing what they are really saying in a covert style.
Huckee - don't watch anymore - guess it took me long enough to get a clue.
I'm just thankful that Gov Palin is here and making it stick.
