Trig Palin - Why I Got Involved
Last night, I was disgusted to read Levi's latest lies about the Governor and the relationship she has with her son, Trig:
Sarah Palin seemed to dote more on her new grandson, Tripp, than on her own infant, Trig. "Sarah has a weird sense of humor. ... Sarah would call Trig -- who was born with Down syndrome -- 'my little Down's baby.' ... and sometimes say, playing around, 'No, I don't want the retarded baby -- I want the other one,' and pick up Tripp. That was just her -- even her kids were used to it."
To say that I'm angry at Levi's lies would be a tragic understatement. For those of you that don't already know my story let me briefly share it with you.
I've been a political junkie for many years but although I had influence among voters, I was incredibly reluctant to become vocal during the 2008 Presidential Election. I run several websites, channels and blogs that have a more religious tenor and considering how politics and religion are a particularly volatile mix, I've tried to keep the two separate.
But when Governor Palin stepped onto the national scene and declared her support for families with special needs, it became difficult for me to remain silent. The oldest in my family, my sister Shannon, has mental and physical disabilities but has been one of the greatest of blessings in our lives. I remember sitting next to my mother during the RNC and seeing the tears stream down her face as Governor Palin spoke....because for MY family, she was speaking to us.
The slander, the lies and the venom that were leveled against Governor Palin and her family disgusted me to my core. THAT'S when I decided to take a stand.
I immediately made a video about Governor Palin and her son, Trig. To my great surprise, this video was featured on the JohnMcCain.com blog for several days. That was the beginning of all the Sarah Palin videos you've seen from me since.
In response to Levi's lies, I stayed up late last night and made a remake of that video. With all the tenderness of my heart I plead with you to send this video to everyone. Not just to people that will agree with it, but to those who have misconceptions about Sarah Palin. The love that the Governor has for her son (and family) is clear and knows no bounds. This video, while it only grants us a small glimpse into that part of her life, shows the Governor's sincerity and hopefully it will help others to see it.
So again (and as always), I am counting on you to help me viralize this video. I have done what I can do and I now trust you to do what you can to stand with the Governor.

I trust I do not sound maudlin but I tell my friends that, if you can't see the message of the Almighty in the very existence of Trigg and his mother, I can't help you.

I sent your video to Bill Handel who is a radio talk show host here in Los Angeles. He has a morning show. He was discussing Levi Johnston this morning and though the segment was totally negative about Levi, he did say some stuff about Trig and his name and some stuff about hte Palin's that isn't true. So I sent him the vid with the hope that he will correct what he said. Not holding my breath but you never know.

It usually takes a lot to make me cry, but reading what Levi said about Gov. Sarah and Trig brought tears to my eyes.

Gov. Sarah's words, actions, and body language towards special needs children, and all children in general, has been nothing but loving. Never has any politician or public figure better exemplified and articulated the sanctity of all life better than Gov. Sarah. In fact, as much as the discussion of Facebook post was about "death panels", the overarching theme was the sanctity of life-- something that the Left, Dr. Death, and President Obama will sadly never understand.
On a personal note, Governor Sarah's example inspired me to get involved in the Special Olympics in my community. I was blessed with the opportunity a few weekends ago to volunteer as a lane monitor for one of their bowling tournaments. I was overwhelmingly blessed by the experience. By the way, those athletes would have kicked President Obama's butt in bowling!

Those of us who suppot her will never believe this stuff and those who are not passionalte like us but who don't hate Sarah will consider the source. He isn't writing this stuff they are and they are working in cahoots with Axelrod, Emmanuel and Obama. I understand what you mean about wanting to hold Trig. At the Wasilla Governor's Picnic, Bristol was holding Tripp and Willow was holding Trig. I took Trig's hand in mine, and he pulled his hand back and gave me an "I don't know you, lady" look. It was really precious.
I would have loved to hold both those babies, or as I say to precious little ones, "I could sop you up with a biscuit!"

Whether he actually uttered this malicious trash or it's completely made up by his handlers and the hacks at Vanity Fair, one thing is for certain IMO: Whoever has played even a tiny role in circulating it deserves a very special place in hell. Only a truly soulless person could possibly use this remarkable and special relationship between a mother and her son for political gain.
I remember when the rumors first started circulating about the Palins supposedly keeping Levi from seeing Tripp. I don't believe that for a minute, since the kid lies as effortlessly as he breathes, but I did say to a friend of mine who kept harping on the fact that "but he's the kid's father" that I wouldn't blame them in the least if they did keep him away. He's poison. Bristol and her son are better off without this loser in their lives.

Just a little fact: Sarah Palin is only the second sitting Governor in US History to have given birth. That, alone, is amazing. But the fact that she became a VP Candidate shortly after giving birth, especially to a special needs child is an accomplishment all by itself. No wonder why the liberials went into a tizzy after she was picked.
What bother me in these interviews is not asking the tough questions, like: How much do you pay in child support a month? how many diapers do you buy? Do you pay for a babysitter so that Bristol can start college or work? etc. Same as the lame questions thay place on Obama.
Where are the hard-hitting journalists now a days? The only one asking hard questions is Sarah.. and ironically she has a journalism degree.

I don't recall ever having such anger and disgust that a person could even think that would be funny. I knew then that I had to rally others to protest and point out the lack of compassion and understanding some of those on the left have for the "special needs" children as well as their families.
I knew then that Sarah needed us to not let that action stand.

It's summer and she conceives as sitting governor. In the 4th month she finds out she's having a Downs child. She tells the press that she's pregnant in the 7th month. She gave birth prematurely in the 8th month. Finds out her daughter is pregnant in the 9th month and was picked by McCain for VP changing the whole campaign when it hits one year. Anyone of us would have been in a fetal position with any one of these things. Amazing how the press took no interest in this human interest story during the campaign. I guess they wanted to de-humanize her.

The odds of conceiving a Downs child in your 40's is less than 1:40. Then 90% are aborted in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters...by live dismemberment. BTW, I know what I am talking about, having done undergrad work at UC Berkeley and doctoral work at Stanford. I have seen, I have heard, I have experienced the visceral hatred that many academics have for the values of ordinary Americans. There were honorable exceptions, such as Prof. Victor Davis Hanson...however, I can be very certain that 90% or more of the academics I have known at Berkeley and Stanford were/are ardent Obama supporters!!

So, I've been going through some old interviews the Guv gave back in 2008 before she was tapped.
This is from Time. Jay Newton Small interviewed the Guv by phone on Aug. 14, two weeks before Aug 29th. This is just one little quote from Governor Palin talking about Trig.
"Trig was just born recently, And he's just an awesome sweet baby. Trig was born with Down Syndrome so this was a whole new ballgame for us, just understanding this very, very special child, who's such an awesome fit in our lives right now. It's just very nice and full life that we have right now...I knew while I was pregnant that he would be born with Down Syndrome. So I was as prepared as one could be."

People in academia or Hollywood, for example, who have been DENIED TENURE OR JOBS because their views were not politically correct can witness to this.
Please do not insult me with your remarks about "violent revolution." Up until today I kind of felt sorry for that Wiesel – Levi – but today he’s has just proven that he is simple mean, it’s one thing lying about her fishing, cooking or having a bad day after losing an election. But questioning a mother’s love to her baby that’s beyond peril, it’s disgusting and it brings out the true colours of the boy.
Anyone who has ever questioned Sarah’s judgment, having Bristol break up with him should now put to test any questions.
As someone who has been involved with special needs children let me tell you a little about the connection between the mother and the child.
As a Designer/Photographer I have been involved in the fundraising of a local special needs school. Being that I do it Pro-bono I somehow got involved more and more.
In my time with the organization I have come to meet and speak to many parents and siblings of children with Down-Syndrome. Me being the kind of guy that is quite blunt I can bring myself to raise topics and discussions that some people may be uncomfortable doing, though I always assure to appreciate the sensitivity of the issue at hand.
In my many discussions I have had asked many questions, how did they feel when they found out their baby will have a disability? What are their emotional feelings to this child compared to their other children? Do they cry at night? How do you cope? Hoe so the siblings get along? And so on... Sometimes it would get very personal. You would be surprised how much mothers of special needs children will talk, if you only show them you care enough to ask.
Among the many things I have learned:
1) Down syndrome children require full time attention and special affection, they are not easy to handle and it is very hard work. Many mothers will admit that it tires them out completely and that it has completely changed their lives.
2) The love a mother has to her special needs child is unparalleled, they feel this special bond, a special relationship. They feel they received a special gift from God and that God has chosen them to bring up this special soul.
3) Some mothers, who have had healthy babies after their special needs, will have this guilty feeling that they love their special needs child more, though it’s a different kind of love but that’s just how they feel.
So anyone who says that a mother of a special needs child said anything like 'No, I don't want the retarded baby -- I want the other one,' can only be someone that has never been around such a mother or is a total flat out liar.

They listen to rumors and the uninformed snap judgments of celebrities like Matt Damon, they read misleading headlines and don't know how to find buried ledes, and say "whatever" when the truth decimates their ill-conceived conclusions.
In short: My experience is that people who hate Sarah Palin really don't know why they do. They just know that they love Obama/Democrats/abortion/liberalism, and that she's against it.

Bit late commenting on this thread, and maybe this has been stated before.
But the VF article seems to be full of lies and/or contradictions where independent confirmation is possible.
Eg, the guns and fishing comments. In many "allegations" Levi either contradicts what he has said/written in the past, or even worse, contradicts what he evn states in the SAME article.
Given these lies and contradictions, it is fair to assume that Levi's comments about things that cannot be confirmed indepedently (eg, Trig) should just be considered outright lies as well.
Simple as that, and of story.

It's pretty hard to believe in everything. You would have to be nothing to do that. I don't know what leads you to think that I don't believe in God.
The second quote: There are those who hate Christianity and call their hatred a love for all religions. I'm sorry. I can't bring myself to hate any religion. I respect everyone's right to have their own religion. I do "hate" some awful things that have been done in the name of religion.
The third: If there were no God there would be no aetheists. I'm not really sure how to respond to that. I have not studied enough philosophy to deal with it. I think it means denying God recognizes It's existence. It is something for debate in Philosophy 101. I don't think it can be proved.
If you want to continue, I must say this has become very interesting.

One of my children is involved in teaching a down syndrome child...The mother asked my daughter if she would consider tutoring her child...My daughter explained she did not have experience or training with down syndrome children...The mother said... she envies her brothers that you tutor...My daughter said... if it does not bother you... that I'm not trained...I would love to give it a try..
My daughter tells me weekly...how rewarding her student is...The love and kindness through this child is heart warming for my daughter...
My daughter has shed many tears over her student...because she is waiting for a heart transplant...and very low on the list...because of her special needs...but she still has a chance to receive one...
I think about ObamaCare... and it Infuriates me..because.. this child would not even be considered...for a heart transplant...

Losing a sock from putting it into the washer, to the dryer, to the laundry basket, and to putting the pairs together and back in the drawer.
I have a child who was born with a syndrome that required a few surgeries and also has compromised her hearing. Otherwise we are blessed she lives a completely normal happy life. That is a close as I come to personally knowing a special needs kid. However, when I go to church there is a young man with Downs, and a couple other kids with really serious issues going on. They amaze me. I really believe that what has been "taken" from them leaves space that just fills with the joy of God in a way the rest of us can never really know ourselves.
