Governor Palin Attends Stryker Brigade Welcome Home Ceremony

Governor Palin doesn't just talk about the need to support and protect our troops; she has lived the concerns that family members of our military face. Just two days after she released a note on her Facebook page urging President Obama to be decisive in his support of our troops in Afghanistan, she attended the welcome home ceremony of the First Stryker Brigade from Fort Wainwright--including her son, Track--from a year-long deployment in Iraq.

Former Gov. Sarah Palin attended Thursday afternoon's welcome home ceremony for the 1st Stryker Brigade from Fort Wainwright at the Carlson Center.
The public appearance is Palin's first in the United States since resigning her office in July. Palin's oldest son, Track, is a member of the brigade that recently returned from a yearlong deployment in Iraq.
"To Sarah Palin, who for the last year was the senior mom of the brigade and along with her husband Todd, is a distinguished member of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team," Col. Burt Thompson, the brigade's commander, said.
"Ma'am, thanks for being here today and allowing your son to serve in our brigade. Thank you both for what you have done for your extended Army family and thanks for your unwavering support."

"Today we celebrate a job well done and your safe return to Alaska and the Fairbanks community," Maj. Gen. William Troy, commander of U.S. Army Alaska, said. "The teamwork between military and community here in Alaska is like nowhere else.
"By every account the Arctic Wolves acquitted themselves brilliantly."
Said Thompson: "Gentlemen, I report to you mission accomplished."

She is a refreshing change from the one that occupies 1600 Penn avenue in Dc. We know where she stands on our military.
I was just thinking how much more credibility Sarah has on military matters than Obama. Recall that as a largely unknown Governor she visited Kuwait before Obama ever went to Iraq. And unlike Obama who passed on visiting the injured troops in Germany, pre-VP, pick Sarah Palin joyfully visited that same hospital, meeting with our wounded warriors.
And then for one year her son served in harm's way, with a brigade where 12 of his fellow soliders didn't make it home.
Sarah knows the military up close and personal, including the anguish of war. She is so much more qualified to become Commander-In-Chief than our current CIC ... it isn't even funny.

I'm confused did Track already rotate home before this or was he part of the returning contingent today. The KTUU article is ambiguous about this.
I think he come home today and if so I am glad he and his fellow trooper are safe and sound.

I _think_ Track got home a few weeks ago and the rest of his unit arrived before and after him. Obviously, you can't put a couple of thousand troops on the same plane.
Sarah and Todd are not going to do one thing regarding Levi - that is a can't-win situation from the word go. Years from now, Bristol can go to court and file for back child support but there is nothing to be gained by giving the little creep any more publicity.
Sarah Palin loves the troops. There is no doubt of that. They love her back too. Thanks so much for the videos.

Thanks so much for the awesome footage. Sarah looked great as always. Wow the troops really enjoyed being around her. that is the dfiference between Sarah and Obama. When Obama goes to see the troops, you can see the disgust he has for them, but when Sarah goes to talk to the troops, she shakes everyone's hands and loves being around them. Yes. Once the fishing season was over, neither Sarah nor Todd have had a job. Both of them have, no doubt, worked very hard on the book, the HK speech and, most tellingly, the FB position papers. Several of them are very well researched and supported and that clearly shows that somebody is working hard behind the scenes.
Let me stress, I have no personal knowledge of this but there is a depth to some of the FB posts that reveals a lot of hard work and it certainly appears that the folks behind this are much more astute than the people who surrounded her while she was Governor. This also looks to be unrelated to the help assigned to her for the book.
Somebody very powerful, someone with resources is working with Sarah, someone outside Alaska. Maybe Fred Malek.
One person I do believe that is helping Sarah and company is Fred Thompson........'Common Sense Conservative"? that sounds like Fred.
People have to remember Fred was one of her staunches defender, his wife loves Sarah and is an member of Team Sarah and they were publicly trying to tell Meg about ignoring Levi when he makes outrageous statements
A lot of what Sarah said at the CLSA in Hong Kong has a familiar Fred Thompson tone, not the she doesn't have her own ideas or isn't smart, but that maybe she is being mentored in the Big Leagues by a man that many liked or even loved last year in the primaries but just didn't have the fire in the belly at his age and is passing it on the our Lady of the North.
It was sooooo cute the way she buried her nose in the roses that the Brigade Commander had presented to her...... ;-)
