Numero Uno, Nummer Eins, Numero Un, Number One.... What The?

Welcome, reader, to this week’s "unprecedented” edition of “I Hope Sarah Palin Sells Five Million Copies Of Her Book” (R Limbaugh); roguish self-indulgence in the hometown glory of the past seven days at C4P, complete with its own mood music - a fetching little number entitled “I Know You Libs Are Going Nuts” (M Levin) - promoted as an appealingly curious compilation of sound effects resembling Progressive minds imploding in outrage, OUTRAGE, OUTRAAAGE!
Phut!
“Dear Lord,” yup, there goes another’un, boiled to bursting point by the mere thought of a memoir which no member of the public has read, a memoir which won’t be published for another 44 days, a memoir which for much of the week didn’t even have a front cover design.
Trash the author, trash the co-author, heck trash the trash if you’ve got to - but don’t even think about waiting to read the book first…..
.....now jest hang on a second there, pardner, sounds to me like you need summa that there Going Rogue 101 whadyamacallit, just to set ya straight:
On The Meaning Of “Going Rogue”
“Going Rogue”: Busting free; doing it my way; working outside the old, conventional ways; it is an expression of individuality and political naturalness; following her own path; ignoring the playbook; refusing to be constrained by the ham handedness of politics as usual:
J Fund (WSJ): “Ms. Vincent didn't reveal any details about the book, but did acknowledge it will describe Ms. Palin's frustration over her treatment by the staffers she inherited from the McCain campaign after her surprise pick as the GOP vice presidential nominee last year. Ms. Palin was booked on grueling interviews with hostile reporters while talk-show hosts such as Glenn Beck couldn't even get through to her aides. Mr. Beck tells me he was stunned when he picked up the phone one day just before the election to discover Sarah Palin was on the other end of the line. "She explained that she had been blocked from reaching her audience, so she was now 'going rogue' and booking her own interviews," Mr. Beck told me. "I was thrilled she had burst out of the cage they'd built for her and we were finally talking."
That incident was the only time Ms. Palin declared her independence from her keepers, and it's fitting that the title of her upcoming book will be "Going Rogue: An American Life." (more here)
Governor Sarah Palin: “The town halls and the Tea Party movement are both part of a growing grassroots consciousness among ordinary Americans who’ve decided that if they want real change, they must take the lead and not wait to be led. Real change – and, you know, you don’t need a title to do it.”
Indemind: “She is who she is. No one owns her. No political parties own her. You cannot label her, or stamp a brand on her, because she is unique, and one of a kind. That's why she is so intriguing, so fascinating and often surprising.”
Adrienne Ross: “Governor Palin did not rise from the PTA to the first female Republican vice presidential nominee by relying on someone else's "go ahead" before she would go ahead.” (read more here)
PEC: “Her lack of tie with the establishment is why her book is titled what it is. It is why McCain’s staff struggled with her. She is so anti-establishment and doesn't fit their neat little cupcake.”
Nypalinpower: “Sarah is “Going Rogue” again by poking fun at herself and the political establishment.” (read more here)
Liberty: “Going Rogue means refusing to be silent on corruption in the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission, resigning, and then challenging the good old boys of her own party. It means running against Murkowsky and conventional wisdom and winning hands down. It means leaving the governors office and refusing to remain a sitting duck for endless abusive ethics charges to better serve her state and country elsewhere. It means not bowing to the mainstream media and going directly to the people. It means not setting up shop in New York or DC but on Facebook and mortally wounding the closest-run advance by Socialism in the nation's history by doing so. It means disdaining the insults of the media and refusing to hide with 'limousine conservatives' who are Beltway respectables first and defenders of the constitution somewhere way down the list.” (read more here)
Contributor of the Week: Damian Geminder
“Today, we are going to examine one of the first major Leftist talking points about the Alaska Governor - that she lied about her role in the demise of the Bridge to Nowhere - as well as rebut the notion that she was some sort of earmark-hungry, pork barrel ice queen.”
Read more of Damian’s extremely well informed examination, here.

Did You Catch These?
American Thinker: Redefining Sarah Palin: “Palin is an American conservative in the classic mould, a populist in her natural style, but extremely bright, thoughtful, and increasingly sophisticated. Foreign policy speeches should have careful phrasing and nuances, and then hit a few big ones out of the ballpark. This one was a winner.”
American Thinker: Palin’s Revenge: Who’s Laughing Now?: “To summarize, every single ramification of Palin's resignation has come up aces. For her, her family, her state and even for any future political ambitions, it was the right call.”
Stampede!!!
“A publishing industry source told POLITICO that they ‘cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented’." (more here)
When I ordered the book from BN it was #688, within an hour it was #29, and now it's #5. I'd say that was an excellent rate of climb. (Greg). It is now #5 on Barnes and Noble. (Chicago’s Conservative) Rogue is #2 on Barnes and Noble and #87 on Amazon. (kjanlady). I just looked at Barnes & Noble and her book is now #2. (Doug Brady) It's now number 1 on Barnes and Noble. (Whitney TPS) Sarah's book just hit #1 at BN. Took about 9 hrs. (AlB) It moved up to #137 on Amazon. (Yogi 41) Up to #86 on Amazon (Rosie), #1 on Amazon's Movers and Shakers list. (Larry Sheldon) She's at #32 on Amazon now..... (DryBones) Now #23 on Amazon (kjanlady) Going Rogue just jumped from #23 to #11 on Amazon. (Doug Brady) Going Rogue is now #1 at Barnes and Noble and #11 at Amazon. (Techno) This morning, the book is at #5 on Amazon. (Chesley Perlmutter) # 3 at Amazon now !!! (rob4sarah) Book up to #2 on Amazon. It may sell out before it's even released!! (Hal) #1 in Amazon now too. (Yess) (see report here)
Ellen: “....you would be surprised where she is going to sell books. I live just a few miles from Obama's house. We enquired at our local library if they were going to get the book. They said they are, that they have had almost FIFTY requests for it already... 7 weeks before it’s out... on the south side of Chicago."
Dan Calabrese: “What the book sales prove without a doubt is that there is a huge audience of Americans who absolutely want to hear what Palin has to say. They want to know more about her story. They want to know more about her ideas. They’re tired of hearing all the attacks leveled against her and they’re eager to hear her side of the story. Everyday Americans who appreciate Palin’s authenticity and commitment to good, responsive government also admire her grit for standing up in the face of the media attacks. They root for her. They love her. It is genuine and it is widespread.” (read more here)

BarbarianBabe Merchandise, Charteroakie?
The BarbarianBabe brand name may not yet have the commercial viability of a Governor Palin best seller. It is unlikely that the screen play “SarcSisters Just Wanna Have Fun” has yet flowed from the pen of any C4P artist in residence. As far as I am aware, no B/Babe has yet been asked to “strike the pose” for the cover of Vogue magazine, nor, one presumes, has the blood of any SarcSister’s partner run cold because his “angel is a centrefold”. The complete set of hand painted BarbarianBabe Bobbleheads isn’t in production, and any B/Babe calendar planned for 2010 is unlikely to outsell Pirelli – but, reader, it seems that footsteps may have already have been taken towards the merchandising of BarbarianBabedom.

Wow, good clean fun! Awesome job Rich! It's really nice to have a good time for a change instead of the usual bash this one or that one. And thanks for the quote :-)
Good morning, all.
another great article by Dr Zero at HA. http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2009/10/04/rogue-warriors/
luv the "bitter vampires of the mccain campaign line" A must read for your sunday am Sarah fix.
the last lines to give you more of a taste in case you don't wnt to click on the link below "The announcement of Going Rogue marks the moment when Palin’s future became more important than her past. What she “used to be” is no longer as important as what she is, and may become."
"Herding Cats" it struck the funny bone the other day, and again this morning! I got a good laugh from that video, I'd forgotten about that one - I love it! Thanks for the smiles (and laughs ala Nancy and CruelaDev and many others) You all here always put a smile on my face and in my heart.
It's been such a week!!! I was reflecting last night:
*Saw an ACORN special on FOX News yesterday (the nuts are rotting).
*The Greatest President in the History of the Universe, Oprah, Michele all come home with their forked tails between their legs from Copenhagen. Was it 4 jets hauling them there and home? Valarie Jarrett and the corrupt Chicago machine booted in their collective behinds. Oh the humanity!!! - Being 3/4 Danish I feel like flying the red & white flag outside my home for a few days :)
*BEST OF ALL, a WHISPERED news release about a book being released early sends a virtual stampede to Barnes & Noble and Amazon and catapults it to number one in a matter of about 30 hours.
Is there other stuff I'm forgetting?
LOVE Dr. Zero. He's fast becoming one of my favorites and the best thing about Hot Air.
grr hassle getting used to this thing
um, cough, ok, HEY Ya"ll! Love the new Sarah video! Now on my facebook! W00T! Beautiful morning here! WE watched the full moon set in the West while the multicolored sky brought the Sun in the East Yep, Mother is UP! ;-)
Thanks Rich, it's been a great week. Old TV show "that was the week that was".
I always enjoy your Sunday round-up!
You Rock... Rich!
Thanks Rich. I look forward to this every week.
Herding cats always makes me laugh. Tammy Bruce uses that phrase. She was a leftie for a long time and thinks that the left has an incredible ability to organize, mostly because no one has individual thought, so they all just do what they're told.
She thinks conservatives are terrible with organizing and was amazed at the march on Washington because she thought it was impossible to get conservatives to organize that well.
She says conservatives are CATS... Conservatives Against Tyranny. And she thinks Sarah is the only one who can herd CATS ;)
well I used to hear that almost daily about DEMS on the DNC blogs and once PUMA split off from the rest of the donkey herd I figured the CAT analogy was correct as we SURE wouldn't lock step for Obambi!
Awesome article Rich! I giggled so hard while reading it. I'm gonna read it again to giggle some more. :)
Dr Zero's article on HA is a great read. It really should be on HA's front page.
I would recommend someone post this.
Thanks for that info, dA. I hadn't heard that before.
Mine was a sort of in-house reference to Comment threads which run wild when those Barbarian "girls just wanna have fun" :-)
"That Was The Week That Was": when all this first started, Tim, I had that pencilled in as the original title for my Sunday morning trivia.
Barf alert. Meet the Press has Mike Murphy, David Brooks, Rachel Maddow, and TJ Dionne and they all bashed Sarah, calling her far-right, extreme, etc. Brooks and Murphy say she has no chance to be the nominee. What a nice far and balanced panel. Sarc/ They are basically echoing Schmidt.
I usually can't stomach this show but this time my curiosity got the best of me. Now I have to take a bath.
It's funny how she has no chance, yet they can't stop talking about her.
Does anybody know how to change the font size on a laptop. I tried the CTRL + keys and nothing changed.
The lame stream media has their talking points. Sarah is a fool, now repeat 10000000000000 times so Obama looks good. It is sad to me that so many people still buy it, I hope it changes.
Thank you so much for the Contributor of the Week!!!
Dumb, Dumber, Insane & Dufuss, what's that line about three blind men and an elephant, what has been their track record of late, 0-18,
Yes it is funny how all the elites are afraid that a "true" American could become President without their support.
MEOW! Cat's Who has Time for Cat's...?.. I've got all those puppies to deal with!
Great Article Rich! Thanks Again!
go to the lower right hand corner. there is a "100%". Click on that and choose your page size.
If that does not work, call sarah, she can do anything.
I loved it when David Brooks said he would "eat his hat" if Sarah Palin became the nominee of the GOP in 2012.
I hope it is at least made in America and at least somewhat palatable.
Great conservative campaign slogan!
"Let's make Brooks eat his hat! Vote For Sarah Palin!"
It seems with Brooks, all politics comes down to clothes, or clothing accessories.
His vote for president was based on how a dude's pants were creased.
Now, if another person becomes the candidate in 2012, he will eat headwear.
Nah, eating your hat is like chinese food, half an hour later, you're still hungry. Some of those shoes on the other hand. . .
At the end of the Missplaced video.. you could briefly see a poster saying:
Standing with Sarah: Not left, not Right, just front and center!
I liked that. Who did that? any one know?
Post it under any note written by Allahpundit. He'll get even more snarky than he did in a recent post. He needs a good dose of reality before his ego gets the size of Obama's.

Sarah's Memoir: Number One on Amazon and Barnes &Noble
"She's a scintillating ball of energy and blooming good health - in addition to being a blend of William Jennings Bryan and Robert Alphonso Taft, of blessed old America - and she could draw 50,000 people to the opening of a hardware store, on an hour's notice."
"Beat that Barack Hussein Ogabe, you gangling, crack-smoking pimp."
There is much more of this in your face verbal "bantering" but he provides a link to Sarahpac and invites readers to donate a few Yankee dollars to our first female President's political action committee. Good, outrageous, funny read. Enjoy.
Bryan and Taft, an interesting combination that would not have occurred to me. There's a touch of Bryan in her heartland, main street appeal, but she's much more forcefully like TR, crime and corruption busting, always of good cheer, no she's not a Progressive

Since Barauk 'Oblivious' has become the world's laughing-stock, the Left is reduced to Palin is unelectable' distraction-talking points.
*A HotAir commentator from France said that even Paris taxi-drivers are laughing at Barauk's arrogant EPIC FAILURE before the IOC.
Rick, you missed the barbarian babe's Halloween costumes available on several of the over 300,000 websites found if you google barbarian babes. The favorite among the barbarian "dudes" on C4P seemed to be the Barbarian Babe Viking costume complete with armour, fur hat and fur boot covers. Looks like a future for a Viking themed Mask Ball for the C4P Barbarian Babes and Barbarian Dudes. Maybe in 2012 in Washington, D.C.?
Pardon my typo Rich
Rick = Rich
Just bought the 2010 Sarah Palin calendar at Palmer's Fred Meyers.
(Its also available at http://www.alaskabooksandcalendars.com)
*I'm disappointed the 2010 Barbarian Babes Calendar isn't available yet :-(
I keep looking and figuring that at some point, the number will drop. I mean it has to right? The initial enthusiasm will wane until it's released, then pick back up for another huge bump.
But so far...we're still soaring. :D
David Brooks and for that matter, Mike Murphy are completely out of touch with the common folks.
They have an inability to transcend their elite status and relate to the concerns of the people.
By contrast, Gov. Palin excels at identifying with the people as opposed to "looking down" at them.
Rich, Thank you for a wonderful Sunday read. I loved the videos and your great sense of humor.:)
I am crushed.
I post proof that the space aliens are for Sarah Palin and I get ignored on the weekly review. What does a man have to do?
I am going to go interview the Loch Ness Monster. :<)
The funniest part of that video was the guy using one of those sticky rollers to get the cat hair off his clothing.
Hilarious!
Thanks for another great post! It's obvious that you've done a lot of comments reading. It's always a fun Sunday read!
Ha! Those cowboys, so particular about their appearance out there on the range.
Sarah is a mom and has much experience herding kids. Cats will be no problem.
I don't see why, it's operating just one advance buzz, Schmidt, unwittingly is just expanding the audience for it, when the book actually hits; Katie bar the door
Hey, babes! let's help Charter spank his monkey!
Is there anywhere else that shows more of the calendar pages? I don't want to purchases something with just a cover - and that cover doesn't look too good. I loved Sarah's friend the professional photographer's 2009 calendar. If she does another one, great. But if this is just a quick, make some $$ knockoff, I don't know if I'll splurge. Can you give us a report or some scans when you get yours, KentonAK? Thanks. :)
Sounds like a plan.
Rich, A great Sunday read.
hrh-
I'm checking out the calendar now. It includes several stock photos of Sarah's most have us have seen already. None are by Sarah's friend,Judy Patrick..And doesn't approach the quality and (especially) the labor-of-love that Judy put into her 2009 Sarah Palin Calendar.. I'd rate it a 'C' now that I've had a chance to compare it side-by-side with Judy Patrick's 2009 calendar. I'm emailing Judy tonight to see if she plans on creating another 'Sarah' calendar for 2010. Hope this helps, hrh.
KentonAK,
JS-Kit.com Comments
I'm from Chicago, too. Every library branch has one OR TWO copies of Dhimmi Carter's "Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid". Bets on how many copies of Palin's book they'll get?
Yes, it does muchly, thanks KentonAK. I'll probably wait on Patrick's calendar then, if there is one.
Though in several interviews last year, Patrick said she never heard from Palin so she went ahead with the calendar anyway. I think she said Sally Palin loved it, so I hope she gets to do another one if she has enough pix left! I like that 2009's covers Sarah's whole career and has pix we haven't seen already.
I'm wondering though if Palin's publisher might consider calendars a publishing business and put the kabosh on independent calendars? Though as you've shown there already is a quickie calendar for sale ...
Just catching up on this one now. Love it! (Now leave those poor puppies alone!)
Hi Rich. Getting to this VERY late, I know. I left town for several days on Oct 4th and didn't see your great round-up until this past weekend.
I appreciate the acknowledgment again, though I was a big shocked at some of the merchandise offerings linked in the "<span style="font-weight: bold;">BarbarianBabe Merchandise, Charteroakie?"</span>
section, and I wouldn't want anyone to think that I had anything to do with those tee-shirts!
In fact, a certain someone recently sent me a private message blasting me as a "sexist pig" (absurd), and I wondered if the linkage to the merchandise may have contributed to that person's, or anyone else's, misperception about yours truly.
At the very least, any vendor associated with this site should be required to be able to spell Governor Palin's first name correctly (Sarah with, not w/o, the 'h').
Cheers, Rich. Love those Sunday round-ups!
