Palin Endorses Hoffman

From Facebook:

The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it's important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York's 23rd Congressional district. It's my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a "time for choosing."

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of "blurring the lines" between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party's ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

You can help Doug by visiting his official website below and joining me in supporting his campaign:

She made the announcement when it will have the most impact.

Hal,  October 22, 2009 8:42 PM

YESS!!!! A bold and great move. This will be a net sum gain for her and put the establishment RINOs in their place. Buh bye Newt...

Andrew,  October 22, 2009 8:43 PM

Newt's vision of the party vs Palin's vision.

I think I know who'll win.

manajordan,  October 22, 2009 8:44 PM

Yes!! That is flippin awesome!! This is really well written too. She lays it out there why she is supporting Hoffman. "no more politics as usual." Amen to that. God bless ya Sarah

Ladies and Gentleman Start Your Engines...
The Race Just Begun!...YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 8:49 PM

Mia, you're funny, avatars, etc. . .

Dan C,  October 22, 2009 8:49 PM

Good for her. I honestly have come to a point where I hate the republican Party almost as much as the democrat party. Not individual people as there are plenty of good ones, but for the party itself to throw Dede scozafavva down our throats, and now pushing romney and pawlenty just makes my blood boil.

I pray to god Sarah can take back the republican party because if she cannot there is no hope for the republic. I really mean it.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 8:50 PM

My Reaganite friend was raking me over the coals about Sarah saying "I'd don't care what party they're in", as he took a conventional view and was pre-flipping out that she'd endorse a Democrat against a RINO.

Well, I guess we know now exactly what it means "I don't care what party they are in" . . . and more to come. Hoo-ah !

Doug Brady,  October 22, 2009 8:50 PM

AWESOME!!  We have principled leadership at the top of the conservative movement.  And make no mistake, Gov. Palin sits at the top of the conservative movement!

Mia,  October 22, 2009 8:51 PM

Bill...Your to kind...and...I agree with you on this new program...I got locked out last night...sigh...

bpk1300,  October 22, 2009 8:52 PM

Thank you Sarah!!!!!  I refuse to watch or listen to any program with Newt on it!!!  Where's Mittens and Huckabone!!!!  lol...Grow a  pair guys!!  The game is on!

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 8:52 PM

This is so exciting.  Sarah fired the warning shot across their bow on July 3rd.  They tried to ignore her and worse.  She's doing what she said she would do.

Love this part:  "And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine."

Integrity.  She means what she says and says what she means.

Mia,  October 22, 2009 8:52 PM

ummmmmmm....What were you saying...NEWT????

It will be interesting to see the campaign contributions chart.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 9:02 PM

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 9:03 PM

Tommy Report,  October 22, 2009 9:05 PM

Actually, we don't want her to assuming that Hoffman gets 80% of the GOP vote.  If he does, Dede can then take some democrat votes away from the fake socially conservative Democrat.

Tommy Report,  October 22, 2009 9:05 PM

The word is Hoffman needs 75-80% of the GOP vote to win.

Mia, ha ha, I better just grin and bear it on the new system . . .

section9,  October 22, 2009 9:09 PM

Monster. Huge. Mondo Huge.

Basically, what she is doing in the way she is announcing her support of Hoffman is announcing a Reaganite Insurgency against the AssClown Party that runs the GOP.

You have no idea how important this Facebook post is. This is huge.

Good on ya', Sarah! Somewhere up there, an old Irishman is smiling tonight!

Now get out there and win one for the Gipper!

Neo,  October 22, 2009 9:10 PM

Now THAT'S a political statement.

Dan C,  October 22, 2009 9:11 PM

I pray your right. I really do.

Whit...We say at our dinner table...pass the Cannoli...Leave the Gun...
It's a Joke with my family...LOL!

techno,  October 22, 2009 9:12 PM

From SarahPAC:

"SarahPAC (Sarah Palin) will support local and national candidates who share Governor Palin's ideas and goals for our country."

From her resignation speech July 3rd:

"I will support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska-or outside Alaska.

But it won't be from the Governor's desk."

Techno's rule of LEGITIMACY:

Before POLITICAL LEGITIMACY must come PUBLIC TRUST and ACCOMPANYING CREDIBILITY.

Touche, Sarah.

Charter

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 9:24 PM

Forgive my poor Italian once again, but F*ck the GOP leadership!  Where were they when Sarah was pouring her guts out to try to drag McCain across the goal line last year and getting stabbed in the back by "anonymous staffers" and a hostile media?  Where were they when Sarah was being hounded with $500,000 of legal bills to fend off bogus ethics charges??

Kjanlady,  October 22, 2009 9:24 PM

Sarah's endorsement already out at Politico.

CruelaDev,  October 22, 2009 9:27 PM

DAMN IT Sarah...you have been told what to do by the Republicans...and Little Missy...you are NOT following ORDERS!  No Ice Cream for You tonight...you can just go to your room and think about what you have done!

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 9:31 PM

Cruela,

ha ha, and she should go to her room (and plan her next move, he he)

jimr3,  October 22, 2009 9:34 PM

The Weekly Standard has it.

"THE WEEKLY STANDARD just received a statement from Sarah Palin endorsing conservative Doug Hoffman for Congress:"
http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/10/breaking_palin_supports_hoffma.asp

Umm...apparently, if i read this right, she sent a message to The Weekly Standard that she was endorsing Hoffman before it posted on her Facebook page.  Cool.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 9:36 PM

No idle words ever come from Sarah:

"Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans <span style="text-decoration: underline;">should</span> share . . . "

"Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican <span style="text-decoration: underline;">establishment</span>

Notice she said "establishment" and not machine as someone said earlier.

Kjanlady,  October 22, 2009 9:36 PM

Cruela,

She is in her room.  Writing the next Facebook Post?   Topic....Conservative Values?.......I Brought Down the Good Ole Boys Network in Alaska, Now It's Time For Me To Go National?

Beehive,  October 22, 2009 9:36 PM

She just slapped the Rinos and the establishment up the side of the head. Take that you slimy Rinos.

Wow. How would you like to be ole Scozzafava right now? More than blurs the lines. bwahahaha

"Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of "blurring the lines" between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race."

This.woman.is.fearless.

Game is on!

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 9:37 PM

When we look back decades from now, post Palin presidency, I think this facebook posting will be a historic document outlining the beginning of her take over of of utter destruction of the Republican party.

She unapologetically calls them out for the dishonest liberals that they are.

She employs Reagan wisdom.

She fulfills her promise to support all conservative candidates.

AND she goes after the political machine.

All in a few simple paragraphs on facebook.

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 9:37 PM

Hi Cruela!  Glad you're here.  BTW, I miss the more frantic wild-eyed Cruela avatar!  Hope you didn't get the wrong impression; I was just goofing on you about it.  Truth is, I loved it.  Made me laugh every.dog.gone.day.  Please bring it back for old times' sake.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 9:38 PM

Wow! I actually just read her announcement and not just the headline! :) She's calling out the Republicans!

"Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty. "

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 9:38 PM

I listened to Beck talk to this guy yesterday on the phone and he appeared to be a stand up guy, who is much like Sarah.

He said he had never run for political office and is only running because he thinks conservatives deserve an actual choice on election day.

TSM Admin,  October 22, 2009 9:39 PM

Yesterday, I was divided about whether she should do this or not.  She has done it so - GREAT!  I think one of the big things of this is that she just proved she meant what she said in her resignation speech!  Everybody was trying to understand what she meant, well this is a CLUE!

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 9:39 PM

Awesome avatar, Kjanlady (as long as I'm on the topic for a moment).

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 9:40 PM

By the way did anyone record Levin?

PEC,  October 22, 2009 10:08 PM

The good thing is even if he loses, he can turn around and run for 2010.  HE will have the name recognition at that time.

Mountain Mama,  October 22, 2009 10:08 PM

I couldn't be happier about Sarah Palin.  Her every step has been perfectly placed:  what valor!

So much for Dennis Miller's worry that Gov. Palin is no longer "rogue" (because, he said, she spoke in China and she's going on Oprah).  He also wondered last night on O'Reilly if Sarah was actually going to run for the presidency, and thinks that if she plays it safe, she's merely hoping to sell more books.

NO NO NO!  The race has been on for MONTHS!!!!!----and this new Facebook post PROVES it.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow----especially the blessing of Sarah Palin!

I was just over at the Politico, the "Libby Donks" are frothing at the mouth over Sarah's endorsement of Hoffman. He will now be getting national contributions and exposure because of this. This is just the first battle for a return to conservative principles in our government.

OK, I took a couple minutes to put some $ where my mouth is.  Clicked on the link at the bottom of Sarah's endorsement, went to Doug Hoffman's web site, and dropped off a modest donation.

Lots of small donors may be more important in the long run than large donations.

It's funny how a year later, this lady has not gone away. She continues to take it to the organizations and administration that does not have America's best interests at heart. All from her little old place in Alaska. I like her.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:23 PM

Donated to Doug, Sarah told me to.

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:23 PM

All over D.C. tonight: Hey, get the mop!

Beehive,  October 22, 2009 10:23 PM

This is great. Amanda Carpenter tweeted:

"As Palin endorses Hoffman, Pawlenty declines to weigh in the race. Tells reporters tonite he hasnt been folo'ing"

He hasn't been following. The annointed one hasn't been following. ahahaha

Shane Vander Hart,  October 22, 2009 10:26 PM

Awesome... so totally going rogue!  Proud of her!

gelston,  October 22, 2009 10:27 PM

Mountain Mama,
You are always right on the money.
Yes, thanks to God for the blessing of Sarah Palin.

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:27 PM

I don't think Governor Palin is doing what she is told.

Shane Vander Hart,  October 22, 2009 10:27 PM

I'm very jazzed by this endorsement.  I'm glad she's inserting herself in this race for the right candidate.  Going rogue, bucking the misguided establishment!

Sharon,  October 22, 2009 10:28 PM

Saracuda! Well said(written)! Already donated to Hoffman!

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:28 PM

I just don't know if she just told everyone else to leave the room or if she's leaving the room, and just doesn't care.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:28 PM

Is Franken still alive ? Haven't heard a peep from him.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:29 PM

What's the depends rating on this one Nancy?

Enrigen,  October 22, 2009 10:29 PM

At least $25.00 (that's how much I donated)

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:29 PM

You bitter clingers!

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

Governor Palin: "politically speaking, if I die, I die."

Everyone else: politically speaking, I will do everything in my power, to not die.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Beehive,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

hahaha
Man he is really in the game isn't he.

Bermuda Bob,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

She says waht she means and means what she says! Go Sarah.

I bet a lot of people are reviewing exacting what she said in that resignation speech. She certainly is a promise keeper. God uses faithful people!

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

Nancy, amen to that!

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:31 PM

Doug Hoffman never ran for office before.

I don't think he will be alone in 2010.

The nation's conservative back gets a little stiffer.

The libs and RINO's heads are exploding, and things just "tightened up a bit", sorry.

Lakerfanalways,  October 22, 2009 10:32 PM

Well, Sarah's parents are already campaigning for Tarkanian so Sarah isn't far behind. I hope she endorses Mark Rubio next too

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 10:32 PM

Newt the...new.turd?

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:33 PM

they all hang on for dear life . . . or is it they hang themselves . . .

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 10:33 PM

I hope she stays away from Rubio.  There is something that just feels not right about that mess.  This endorsement was a no-brainer.  I'm afraid that one might come back to bite her.

hrh,  October 22, 2009 10:33 PM

He's a Republican who's doing what he's told ...

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:34 PM

Bermuda Bob, to brush up on her resignation speech, go here, www.info-scroll.com/c4p, scroll down a little bit.

This is in brain-friendly format, including pictures for liberals.

Beehive,  October 22, 2009 10:35 PM

I am proud to Stand Up For Our Nation along side Sarah Palin.

Does anyone remember which rinos donated or endorsed Scozzafava besides Newt? Was it the NRSC?

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:35 PM

Couldn't Hold It Any Longer-Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm.

That is Depends Level 3.
What do you think? Higher?

Pants Stainer?

CruelaDev,  October 22, 2009 10:36 PM

LOL Charter...Not sure..but my original post on "Newt the Neutered" got moved elsewhere.....

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:37 PM

LOL!:)
Yes, "things" are definately tightening up.

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 10:37 PM

Great!  That means you got a nice thank you email that says at the end:

"God bless.

Sarah"

Ain't it grand?

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 10:39 PM

Sarah has put the pressure on these RINO's.  Either they endorse the actual conservative, or they turn their back on the established GOP.

That's going to be an uncomfortable place for the Huckabee's and Pawlenty's out there, who want the conservative base, but are afraid to offend the establishment.

Ceejay,  October 22, 2009 10:40 PM

I will answer that, "
oprah that is easy, I love my country, I apologize to no one, and lesser government , more freedom, and have government get out of peoples lives, that is what I am all about, and you know oprah, some in our political parties just do not get it, but I do.......! yes!

Sarah 2012!

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:40 PM

NRCC

CharterOakie,  October 22, 2009 10:41 PM

Exactly, Bill.  She made me do it.  The only time I can remember donating to a congressional campaign.

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 10:41 PM

Not for Obama.  But much higher for Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romeny, and the rest of the established GOP.  Sarah is leading the conservative movement without their permission.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:42 PM

I love this one.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7lTQdmNp20&eurl=http://www.conservatives4palin.com/&feature=player_embedded">Sarah Palin, the Fighter (fighting for America, and you and me)

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:42 PM

double html, sorry.

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:43 PM

Rock on, Sarah

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:43 PM

Bill, you got that right ! ! !

Bill in Baltimore,  October 22, 2009 10:43 PM

Bill, you got that right !

Nancy,  October 22, 2009 10:44 PM

defendAmerica,
Yes, this is a RINO Depends Level rating.

Anonymous,  October 22, 2009 10:45 PM

You GO girl!!! Now that's political courage!

RedDaveR,  October 22, 2009 10:46 PM

Go Sarah go!  I am donating to Hoffman thanks to her. Newt just might need some of those depends now.  Election Night should be very interesting.

juju,  October 22, 2009 10:47 PM

Some one on another site said he was going to have some t-shirts made showing OBAMA in diapers and a pacifer in his mouth....all wee weed up......I WILL BUY ONE IF I SEE IT...WHAT A KICK THAT WOULD BE.

Izzy,  October 22, 2009 10:48 PM

Donated too.  PALIN POWER!!!

defendAmerica,  October 22, 2009 10:48 PM

The weekly standard just picked up Sarah's endorsement...
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Weblogs/TWSFP/TWSFPView.asp#13709

juju,  October 22, 2009 10:49 PM

How about a T-shirt with OB with diapers and a pacifer  saying "ALL WEE WEED UP ABOUT FOX AND PALIN.......

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:49 PM

As an Alaskan, Sarah is used to dealing with cleaning up Snow(e).

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  October 22, 2009 10:51 PM

The LOTUS says yes. She takes the gloves off and put the heels on.

jimr3,  October 22, 2009 10:51 PM

Oh give me a freaking break AllahPundit!

His QOTD:  "Buchanan or Reagan?" Not his words, they are from the article he links, but still, it's pretty damn weak.

Like Sarah is an isolationist and a non-supporter of Isreal like Buchanan.  Sarah is not even remotely close to Buchanan.

Beehive,  October 22, 2009 10:52 PM

I agree. It is going to get a lot more uncomfortable for the boys. She is only starting.

Sapwolf,  October 22, 2009 10:55 PM

As posted at HotAir.

Doug Hoffman and his supporters are like the 101st surrounded in Bastogne.

Sarah is like Company D, 1st Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment of the 4th Armored Division of Patton’s 3rd Army breaking through to Bastogne, ending the siege on Dec. 26th, 1944.

All our donations to Hoffman are like P-47 Thunderbolts with clear weather strafing Wehrmacht columns mercilessly, and C-47’s parachuting supplies to the beleaguered defenders.

Mia,  October 22, 2009 10:55 PM

I think SNowe...is dealing with... YEllow Snow...

Neo,  October 22, 2009 10:56 PM

<span>YouTube Video   <span>Sarah Palin Endorses Doug Hoffman</span></span>

OldDude,  October 22, 2009 10:56 PM

Greta rapping on Sarah's endorsement and facing Sarah off against Newt!  Lotsa enthusiasm.  Gotta go donate to Hoffman--that's what all us cultmembers do.  Sarah said!!!

Bestbud,  October 22, 2009 10:56 PM

Lipstick,
I was just sitting with my wife relaxing after grand kids games... got on my new iPhone browsing c4p and read this story... started laughing so hard I dropped it! Read it out loud to her(gina) and we both were in stitches, almost dropped it again... we are Texans also and relate to your country hick experiences... it's a badge of honor-kinda like Sarah telling about when she was called a similar name and she fired back.... well!... thank you!

Something about Texans and Alaskans... that wild frontier thing!  ( the iPhone is OK)
