Fan Video: Sarah Palin Honors U.S. Military

Two supporters made this excellent video of the Governor paying tribute to the U.S. Military. A special thank you goes out to Keith and Missy from Mississippi for this video and heartfelt thanks goes out to the brave men and women that serve our great nation! God bless the USA!

Seth....I'm so glad you're around.
I hope it was okay that I posted a link to "The Last Letter Home". I was touched beyond belief and just had to share it.

As I said before...the men's choir singing just made be blubber like a baby.
I have 2 (going on 3) sons in the army and one of my sons is a music ed major specializing in choir directing. He has a beautiful voice. He's now in the army band program because he also plays a "mean trombone".
When I heard/saw tht video of course I immediately thought of him....:-)

Thank-you....you truely have a gift.
Terri.

The video you posted is pretty good, I'll give ya that. But seriously...

HEADS UP:

What's In Sarah Palin's Book

Nervous and curious McCain-Palin staffers have been buzzing for weeks with speculation about what Sarah Palin has chosen to include in “Going Rogue.”
Books have begun being shipped out in advance of the November 17th release date.  Last week, some of Palin's associates received copies.
Based on discussions with various sources who have seen or been briefed on the book's contents, here's what you can expect from “Going Rogue”:
* just five chapters—but they are very, very long.
* some score settling with McCain aides she believes ill-served her (names will be named).
* a hearty bashing of the national media.
* an account of how her upbringing shaped her maverick sensibilities.
* a testimonial to the importance of faith in her life.
* a warm and personal tone, written in Palin's own voice, despite the involvement of a collaborator.
Two things not in the book:
* Don't look for hefty policy prescriptions.
* Once source who has seen  “Going Rogue” says it does not include an index.  That would give Palin a subtle revenge on the party's Washington establishment, whose members tend to flip to the back pages and scan for their own names. If they want to know what Sarah Palin has to say about them, they will have to buy the book—and read the whole thing.

We need a separate thread to speculate what's in her book. The Time is Bias!

yogi41,  November 11, 2009 1:21 PM

C4P gets a shout-out in her book, according to someone who has flipped through it. That person just posted this statement on Hot Air. ONCE AGAIN, CONGRATS TO C4P - SARAH LOVES YOU!

Here is what that poster wrote:

"A friend of mine in media has an advance copy; and I was able to flip through for about 15 minutes the other day. I can confirm there’s no index. I wasn’t able to read anything in 15 minutes, really, but I did check out the acknowledgements/thank yous at the end, and guess who gets a mention: The Boss!
There’s a paragraph (paraphrasing)that says: “And to all who never let anyone tell them to sit down and shut up: Rush, Sean, Bill(s), Tammy, Mark, Michelle…” (She only uses first name, not last.) It’s gotta be The Boss. Pretty cool. Oh! And she also thanks C4P in the acknowledgements!

"Then going home to finish Sarah Palin's book. She's on a week from today."

Thanks for the article, GA.

Most telling line after about 20 graphs of Palin info?

"Meanwhile, Huckabee ..." :) :) :)

Kjanlady,  November 11, 2009 1:32 PM

Another great video by Sarah's army.  I have a suggestion for the coming book tour.  I foresee long, long lines waiting just to see Sarah and the wait will begin long before she even arrives.  Wouldn't it be an excellent gift to those in line and just maybe countless others to have a video screen set up showing the hundreds of tribute videos created by people like Seth Adams and hundreds of others.  Hearing Sarah's words, seeing the amazing gifts she has.  I remember so many of the great videos that I have seen but may not remember the titles.  Imagine people's reactions to the fight video, this tribute to the military, the video America, Sarah's Right to Life Speeches and her tributes to Trig.  This would be a unique opportunity to show America who Sarah is and how much and why we love and support her.  It would make standing in line more than bearable.

Can you imagine how much this would bother the radical loonies and leftist medea?  Obama's Depends bill would break the bank.  Sarah Palin...mmm...mmm...mmm.

By all means, come on over and help out.

I ventured over there and have managed to get in a spat with "ProudRino." Feel free any C4Pers to fight the good fight. :)

yogi41,  November 11, 2009 2:07 PM

That ProudRino shows up on every single Palin thread. What's his/her problem? It's annoying.

GAHanson,  November 11, 2009 2:09 PM

Fear of The Mother

In his eye-opening, astute new book, The Persecution of Sarah Palin, Matthew Continetti argues that the "story of Sarah Palin is the story of American political journalism's intellectual bankruptcy," and while Continetti's narrative does include plenty of lesser-known biographical detail it also contextualizes Palin into a fascinating case study of the politics of personal destruction as employed by the left-leaning cultural and media elites who constantly tsk-tsk…the politics of personal destruction. "It's not new for a prominent political figure to be hated," Continetti tells TAS. "But it is novel when a political figure becomes so hated so quickly, and for that hatred to be based on so little information." Appalled by this persistent knowledge gap, the Weekly Standard editor undertook the challenge of setting the record straight and answering, to his mind, "the most outrageous insults, myths, and exaggerations directed at her and her family."

yogi,
That will be cool. They've never met face to face ya know.

riley4palin,  November 11, 2009 2:25 PM

Kjanlady:

Excellent idea!

I remember as a youngster standing in line for hours to get on roller coasters at Great America Amusement Park.  I always wished we could have had something to entertain us while we waited instead of staring at each other as we passed through the lines.

My only concern would be the cost to ship these big video screens from city to city.  It would be very costly to operate and the logistics could be a nightmare.  Could Governor Palin get Harper Collins to pick up the bill for it?  That is iffy.

If even a few could be made on a smaller scale, that would be great.  I really like your idea.

And I agree, the White House would be sick to their stomach if people could see Governor Palin acting Presidential at the book tour venues.

terri,  November 11, 2009 2:30 PM

hrh,
You look like your doing just fine my friend

Penny,  November 11, 2009 2:38 PM

Thanks, hrh!

I'm not registered at Hotair.  I do my Palin evangelizing one on one in person.  But I just saw that you were doing great over there.  (btw, I was the one who heard Hannity say last Fri he has his copy - he must have been told to shhhsh until given the OK)

hrh,  November 11, 2009 2:38 PM

I hope she does go in his studio in person while she's in Florida.

He does that only very rarely. I believe he had Coulter in for "Guilty."

Usually radio is a phone in. Miller will probably be a phone in. But I hope she gets to go into the studio with Rush.

'Course I'm not a paid Rush subscriber though, so I couldn't see it. Greta sometimes plays clips though ...

hrh,  November 11, 2009 2:41 PM

Thanks, guys, last I checked ProudRino had faded away. Guess I'll go check in ...

Recovering Democrat,  November 11, 2009 2:41 PM

Yes, and I was thinking about a separate thread speculating on the questions Oprah will ask Sarah. Wouldn't that be fun? We could do an actual compare/contrast our predictions with reality in just 5 days. Yay!

JP,  November 11, 2009 2:42 PM

A "shout-out" to all veterans today!
Thank you for your service!
Thank you Sarah, for always honoring them.

Kjanlady,
That is an AWESOME idea!!
I hope the organizers pay heed!

Since there will be those of us that will not be able to attend her book signings, I sure hope there is a livestream of each event that those of us who aren't allowed to run steaming video online at work can catch up on events when 'we' get home.  It would be too much to hope for that the cable stations (including Fox) will carry the events in their entirety.  This will not be a traditional book signing.  Look for them to change venues.  I hope that C4P will post these here as well.  It will be a real treat to watch the crowds swell!

I have that feeling again that I felt just before McCain announced her as his VP pick and the newsies were going mad trying to find out who it was!
It's in the air, a cool, clean gust of wind, leaving in its wake, clarity and a heart full of optimism.  Can't wait!!!!

yogi41,  November 11, 2009 2:44 PM

Yeah, it might be by phone, but I'm hoping she will make it into his studio. That would be great.

yogi41,  November 11, 2009 2:45 PM

Proud is still there and it's taking on RAM. LOL!

JP,  November 11, 2009 2:52 PM

Is it me or is BOR paying more attention to Palin now?
I guess he sees the book sales and is thinking uh oh.

I can't hardly watch him anymore.
His dismissive manner towards guests and the way he treats Beck is annoying.
I liked when Megyn Kelly mixed it up with him.  She is tough.
Now, I'd rather watch Barefoot Contessa & The Neelys on the Food Network...I learn more.  Ha!!

JP,  November 11, 2009 2:59 PM

GAHanson,

Last *.  Haha!!
She knows her enemies well.

RD,

Since Oprah got an advance copy, can we assume that the White House has read it too and is forwarding questions to Oprah?
Good grief, but they are predictable.
Guess we'll see on Monday.

PEC,  November 11, 2009 3:00 PM

Once again consider the source, but the write up wasn't as bad as many.  What I think the Inside the Belt-wayers are missing is they are all expecting her to hire some Washington Crew to run her campaign.  She may not be running but even if she is there is a good chance it will be outside the beltway.

hrh,  November 11, 2009 3:02 PM

Great article. And the comments sections is pretty good, too ...

I think this is one book to buy. Looks in wallet. O man, o man, I cannot afford this woman! :)

Penny,  November 11, 2009 3:13 PM

I've been think exactly the same as you, Recovering Democrat.  Help Sarah prep for Oprah.

Victoria,  November 11, 2009 3:16 PM

I just read Mark Halperin extremely bias article about Sarah's Wisconsin speaking event.  The article is at Time CNN http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1937783,00.html.  I was at the Wisconsin event so I know what happened and what didn't.

Here are some of what I would call either outright lies, or extreme opinions or interpretations not based on a normal person's reality.

1.  The line was not half a mile long.  For someone who is trying to discredit her in the rest of the article I find it interesting that he would lie about this.  My opinion is he is trying to protray her fans as extremists as well.

2.  He claims "she occasionally faltered and tied herself in verbal knots. . . "  The truth is that near the end of her 40 minute speak there was about two minutes during which she did falter.  Two minutes out of 40 is pretty good.

3.  The author really exaggerated her comments and tone about partial-birth abortion.  This is a terrible procedure but she did not spew the hate (or the tone) the author is spewing in his article!

4.  She did not bo "after President Obama."  Once again, the author is spewing his own hate her.

5. His opinionated comment at the end of the article "making it more difficult for Obama to achieve his campaign pledge of bipartisanship in Washington," pretty much tells you his political agenda.

I wish he would "quit making stuff up!"

hrh,  November 11, 2009 3:46 PM

Helperin throughout the 08 campaign referred to BO as the "Land of Lincolner" for EVERY story on his Page. I emailed him on it and never heard back.

He's a hack, hack, hack.

Beehive,  November 11, 2009 3:53 PM

hahaha

I told my kids they are going to go without this Christmas so I can afford the books, t-shirts and maybe travel to an event!

Needless to say, I was vetoed!;)

Beehive,  November 11, 2009 3:56 PM

Has the date of her going on Rush been announced?

PEC,  November 11, 2009 4:00 PM

I expect these Dems to get mentioned in this book.  They have to explain why they supported her one day and not the next.  There should be calls from the Big media to all of them.

PEC,  November 11, 2009 4:05 PM

I doubt if he even went.  I don't like she was off for 2 minutes but I don't know what was said and what in the prep went wrong.  Obama is the one not allowing the Republicans to give a view so that has nothing to do with Sarah.  She is just a private citizen that everybody in Washington has called politically dead.  THis is confusing.  You are the second person to say she did not mention BO by name.

Deidre,  November 11, 2009 4:07 PM

I would like to know a little more about the coin.  Apparently, they're making it a big deal because Bush athorized for the phrase to be moved to the side--I say it doesn't matter who authorized it, she was definitely correct that it is a disturbing trend.

As much as I want her to run for office, I just feel sorry for her because it will only get worse.  every speech is going to be nitpicked to its fullest and stuff will be made up every time.

Amanda K,  November 11, 2009 4:14 PM

PEC,  November 11, 2009 4:21 PM

I do watch The Food Network as much if not more than any other channel.  It is my break from the world and it avoids politics.  I do want Sarah to be a judge on Iron Chefs.

Recovering Democrat,  November 11, 2009 4:22 PM

Questions submitted by Obama (rejected by Oprah):

- Why do you hate The One?

- Why did you choose to be punished with a baby?

- Did your son raid any villages or kill any innocent civilians in Iraq?

- How's Celtic Diva?

- Have you been to all 57 states?

- Where is bigfoot?

- How did you learn to speak without a teleprompter?

- Why do you loathe Greek columns?

- What do you have against my informants in the media?

- Did you violate any known ethics laws by inspiring the Conservatives 4 Palin website?

- Did someone get an NEA grant for that moose drawing on your tour bus?

- Will you promise to study up for 8 years before running for president?

PEC,  November 11, 2009 4:26 PM

The fact was our society has gone to the point that In God We Trust is a side point and not a main point of our life.  Whether it was Bush, Obama, Clinton Reagan Bush I makes no difference.

Deidre,  November 11, 2009 4:29 PM

I agree, but why are people saying that she messed up.  I don't think she really cared who approved that!!

terri,  November 11, 2009 4:32 PM

Amanda,

That is a good one. There were LOTS of great tribute videos posted today.....ended up blubbering like a baby..;-)

But THIS one makes me stand up and shout..HELL YA!
(I'm pushing for this to be posted up front by the mods...:^) )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df6-RlQmu4o

Recovering Democrat,  November 11, 2009 4:35 PM

Again, do we REALLY believe that Bush was consulted or somehow directly involved in the design of a coin? Doesn't it make more sense that it was some low-level bureaucrat or artistic hack commissioned to do the design, and Bush just signed off? I doubt he thought more than two seconds about this. Really. With two wars going on. Absurd.

They never refute what Sarah says. They malign her motive. I'm with Deidre. I don't think Sarah cares who approved it. It was a metaphor.

Deidre,  November 11, 2009 4:40 PM

Agreed, i'm just a little pissed off.  I mean I don't see how she made a "mistake" when she clearly didn't say "the democrats did this."  She said it was a horrible trend and "who does that?"  It's true, who does do that?  Bush?  Well she still would say he is wrong! I just don't understand why people are getting wee-wee'd up about it....it's stupid because they are putting words in her mouth.

In any event, I hope she works on her speeches; I don't want to see her falter.

Nancy,  November 11, 2009 4:48 PM

JP,  November 11, 2009 4:53 PM

That would be way kewl!!!

Nancy,  November 11, 2009 4:54 PM

JP,
I agree. BOR can not let a guest just answer a question without breaking in. I watched John Stossel on with him last night, and it seemed like John was barely tolerating BOR's ways.

Victoria,  November 11, 2009 5:03 PM

She mentioned the coin and that a friend had given one to her to look to see what she noticed.  She said it took her a while but that "In God we Trust" was pushed way to the edge, where it would eventually start to where off.  I can't remember her exact words but the message or analogy I got from it was that God was being pushed to the side in our society.  She didn't mention names or administrations for this.  Did I think it was the Obama administration?  Considering how he has actively tried to portray this country as not being a Christian nation, yes, his name came to mind for me.  However, she did not harp on this at all and basically used it as an introduction.

I feel sick inside when I think of the hate that is spewed at her.  The other night I watched the videos that were posted here on Reagan and I kept thinking to myself . . . I hope she has the strength to endure like he did.

terri,  November 11, 2009 5:05 PM

Okay guys, Drudge has up that "Obama grants FOXNEWS an interview".
(gee thank-you your highness).

"Major Garrett will conduct the interview in China next week......"

Gee...When does Sarah go on Fox?
Coincedence?..I think not!

onexsturtle,  November 11, 2009 5:10 PM

I think because Sarah's going on Oprah and Barbara Walters, so his strategists are telling him he has to man up and do Fox News.

Victoria,  November 11, 2009 5:19 PM

As for her faltering . . . she had been talking for about 35 to 40 minutes and everything was very organized and easy to understand all the way through.  All of a sudden she said a couple of sentences that lost me.  She stopped looked down at her notes and said a couple more lines that felt a bit disjointed.  It was the ONLY weak moment of the whole evening.  I think it is important to remember that while she is pro-life, this is not her area of expertise.  I sensed that the those few sentences that she struggled with were "new" material for her.

Apparently the new standard is this.  You can tell lies if you can do it eloquently enough, but if you falter while telling the truth we will be merciless.

onexsturtle,  November 11, 2009 5:28 PM

I'm sure they got personally autographed copies from her. :)

terri,  November 11, 2009 5:30 PM

It seems like they'll be on FOXNEWS the same week.
It will be interesting to see who will have more viewers...;-)

Me personally, I would never watch the Obama interview....I don't care what channel he's on or who's doing the interview.
Short of the interviewer being the Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity type, I don't care who the interviewer is, the only questions they're gonna ask him are the big "softball" ones.

hrh,  November 11, 2009 6:02 PM

Yep. And no coincidence that Fox starts fact-checking Sarah after the WH has a meeting with Fox honchos.

Wanna' bet the WH cut a deal: The pres will come on your network if you start bashing on Sarah as much as my other hacks in the media.

I bet.

Recovering Democrat,  November 11, 2009 6:21 PM

Not surprising. Remember the only tough interview Obama did during the whole campaign was with B.O.R. on the night of McCain's acceptance speech. He's trying to upstage Palin by granting an interview just like he tried to upstage McCain.

Laughably predictable.

terri,  November 11, 2009 6:25 PM

^^^^As much as BOR thinks he's "fair and balanced", that interview wasn't all that "tough"

JP,  November 11, 2009 6:29 PM

I keep hoping John'll blurt out, "Give me a break!"  lol!!

JP,  November 11, 2009 6:44 PM

Go hard Major!
You may never get another chance!
I like Major Garrett.  He's tough, smart and asks relevant questions.
I remember when he was a reporter in Phoenix.
He was good then.
I'm sure the handlers are working up a script that Garrett is supposed to adher to or else!

Hope he asks about Sarah and we see Obama's face twitch!
Watch him squirm because he won't be able to ignore the question.  :-)

JP,  November 11, 2009 6:47 PM

Have y'all read the AT article titled, "When Our Military is Attacked, Obama is a Nowhere Man."
Wow! I think the reformed liberal, who's also a psychotherapist, nailed him!  Ouch!!

http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/11/when_our_military_is_attacked.html

JP,  November 11, 2009 6:56 PM

I won't take that bet.
I hope you're wrong.
If not, Fox will cease to be relevant.
Ratings will plummet.
Have they learned nothing from the recent elections?!
If they fall in lockstep with the rest of the MSM, then "we don't need no stinkin' tv!"

JP,  November 11, 2009 6:59 PM

Another AT article titled "Two Simple Words"
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/11/two_simple_words_a_poem.html

November 11, 2009
Two Simple Words (a poem)

Jennifer D. Moore

Have you thanked a soldier lately

For everything they've done?
For all their work and sacrifice;
For battles lost or won?
Have you ever passed a moment in quiet solitude?
Thinking of a way to show support and gratitude?

What about two simple words?

Thank You

Remember those that came before us,
and those that stand with us today,
And to those whose time is not yet here,
I have two words to say -

Thank You

You have the Heart to stand and fight.
The Soul to stand for what is right.
You stand for Freedom, day and night.
For all this and more -

Thank You

Two simple words you may not hear enough
When the good is hard to see, or the battle is getting rough.
Although your heart may break, yet and still you remain tough.
For all that and more -

Thank You

And though I might not know your name,
We're Red, White and Blue... family the same.
You serve our country willingly, protect freedom without fail.
Compared your brave actions, these words may seem a little pale.
But still... for everything you are, and everything you do
I'd like to say two simple words -

Thank You
