Very confident and relaxed in this interview. A natural on the radio. She would be wise to add radio, taking calls from listeners, to her media repertoire. Whether a weekly commentary, ala Paul Harvey or an hour on with the majors on conservative talk taking calls, she would be devastating. It would help her even more to get an unfiltered message out to the people.

yogi41,  November 20, 2009 11:13 AM

I can't wait to listen to this. Thanks for posting it.

Meanwhile, PPP is out, with the following results:

<span>

Obama vs Huck:  49 - 44
Obama vs Mitt:    48 - 43
Obama vs Palin:   51 - 43

Money Maven,  November 20, 2009 11:18 AM

Yea..and all the polls 3 years out had Obama no chance of beating Hillary in the primaries.

Steven,  November 20, 2009 11:21 AM

Great point, the polls don't matter at this point. Campaigns matter and Palin will have her chance to show America that she can lead. This book tour is a trial run. She is doing great. She is indeed following the Obama model and will have a second book come out, if she decides to run in 2012, detailing her agenda for the future. "North to the future" would be a good title for it.

Whitney,  November 20, 2009 11:22 AM

I'll have to listen to this later. :)

OT

A certain someone is quite scared of Sarah Palin (and us):

Principles of a Common Sense Conservative my title.

PEC,  November 20, 2009 11:25 AM

Even they had to admit it has gone up some.  Sarah needs to do well O'Reilly (well actually hold her own).  She has 3 years to show her merit.  Heck Cal Thomas wasn't his normal snarky toward Palin self.  He recognizes reality.  The GOP has a Big Pink Elephant sitting right in the middle of the room and it isn't moving.

PEC,  November 20, 2009 11:28 AM

I am like WHIT.  Can't hear it.  When is she on Tammy Bruce's show?  Also let us be real Andrea Mitchell is trumping around looking to talk to a few ordinary Americans. I expect an interview at some time.

TangledThorns,  November 20, 2009 11:29 AM

Obama has been in office less than a year and is below 50%. Health care passed or not, 2010 will be a brutal year for him and the Democrats.

yogi41,  November 20, 2009 11:33 AM

Steven and Money Maven,

If you don't like to look at polls, don't. Some of us on here, for quite a while, enjoy looking at the internals to gauge the trend. No need to dump on someone's post just because you don't care for it. Scroll on by.....

yogi41,  November 20, 2009 11:37 AM

Tammy is one of the interviews I'm looking forward to, too. I thought she had initially said she was going to go on Tammy's show; I hope she still does.

latinchic,  November 20, 2009 11:42 AM

Hmmmm......she IS pretty phenomenal on radio. Hmmmmmmm.

Steven,  November 20, 2009 11:43 AM

Sorry Yogi41 if my comment offended you, but it shouldn't prevent you from doing what you like with the polls. But the reality is that these polls talk about a political race that will happen 3 years from now. A lot can happen between now and then to either help Palin or not. All I am hoping is that Palin is able to get to the point where she can feel like she can compete in the primaries. The signal of that to me would be how well does on the campaign trail next year and how well the GOP does overal in 2010 and how much credit she gets for that. The amount pf credit she gets will get depends on how well her endorsed candidates do next year. If all goes well, I would expect another book at this time next year about her future agenda for the country. Another book tour,  then we'll be looking at the Iowa Straw Poll in 2011 and the primaries in early 2012. So that's a lot time and events and these polls will be yo-yoing accordingly. I just don't want to go for that ride this early. But you're free to do so.

latinchic,  November 20, 2009 11:44 AM

Yeah, I gotta say, I really am looking forward to Tammy's interview!

Kjanlady,  November 20, 2009 11:47 AM

I'm not much on polls but I checked Rassmussen today and the socialist in the WH is still at minus 14 for the third day.  But I happened to click on another poll...interesting poll!

Unemployment Rates by Political Party

Democrats   15%
Independents  15.6%
Republicans  9.9%

Poll of 15,000 American adults in October.

Also in poll...in February 2009 58.3% of Americans were working....in October 2009 this fell to 56.5%.   I know that I'm just a dumb hick Palin supporter, but doesn't that kinda drag on Obama's available tax income and increase the deficit spending by this administration?  Where will they get the trillions for their health care takeover?  Especially when more people end up sick and unable to work due to rationing.

How's that hope and change working for you Obama voters?

Techno......would you like to analyze this poll?

yogi41,  November 20, 2009 11:48 AM

Still at -14? Very good news.

AmeriCuda,  November 20, 2009 11:48 AM

Betcha' she has a policy oriented book out within the year (after the '10 elections but before Christmas). HarperCollins has, no doubt, already discussed a second book, and by Spring of '11 her campaign will be out of the starting blocks and off to the races.

BetseyRoss,  November 20, 2009 11:50 AM

Andrea Mitchell was forced to follow Sarah around?  LOL.  Yeah, Andrea Mitchell is one of the common folk.  Sarah has to be secretly smiling about that.  Go Sarah.  This interview was also a good one.  I missed it last night.  Glad it was posted here.
After all of the Katie Couric flap for the past 3 days, who thinks Katie will have a job in 2012?

KeeleyH,  November 20, 2009 11:58 AM

She sounds very natural, relaxed and confident on the radio. I have noticed that she's a little more relaxed when she does TV interviews via satellite as well. I think it's because the hosts aren't two feet away staring at her. Also, she talks very fast, and the pace makes her sound very fluent on radio. But on TV, she needs to slow down a bit because you want the visual to speak for you as well, which is to look thoughtful. If I have one complaint about those one on one TV interviews in intimate settings with closeups, it's that she answers the questions too quickly without looking like she's weighing the questions and being thoughtful with her answers.

ladydawnelle,  November 20, 2009 12:01 PM

Ahhhh where is the rest of the Miller interview???

(waving hello to C4P)

William Henley,  November 20, 2009 12:12 PM

I loved this interview.  Sarah sounded so relaxed and knowledgable.  O/T, I thought I would throw my book review in here, hope no one minds.

Going Rogue, An American Life
By:  Sarah Palin

A Book Report by an uncommon reporter
An average American Citizen

First, allow me to say that I, personally, have never read a political biography before.   Knowing politics, as I do, I could NOT see any reason to be lied to in writing as they (politicians) always lied to us in person.
Okay, enough of what I expected from this book. (sarc)

The first thing that I noticed about this unusual book was the main character.  In my 51 years of reading, (well, I did learn in the first grade) I have never seen a book that I COULD NOT put down.  This was and is a first.  Many of my friends and acquaintances’ thought than I was totally nuts to brave the -16 degree weather to wonder the 7 miles into town to pick up this book as it was released.
To me, it was necessary, I wanted (believe it or not) to read this book.  So, I hooked up my dog team and mushed out into the blackness of the bitterly cold Artic Morning.  Well, I did go out and start my Jeep.  I keep getting side-tracked.

As I said, the main character:  “Who woulda thunk it?  A politician actually putting God, our Heavenly Father, above all others and then having the integrity to actually admit it to us Americans.  This could stand all alone as a reason to want this woman to succeed.  As you know, if the Socialistic Congress and House of Reps. have their way…

I started reading and then I nearly wrecked so I had to put it down to drive home.  Once I snuggled into my hard, rickety old desk chair I started reading for real.  I found that I, as simple as I am, had absolutely no problem reading and understanding her (Sarah) words.  I was aghast and agog to see that such a well educated woman could write in simple terms, easy enough for me to understand.

William Henley,  November 20, 2009 12:12 PM

So, I read and I laughed and I cried.  I could follow along and it was just like I had been in each room as the events in this book unfolded.
The villains were easy to spot.  Schmitt happens and I almost fell off of my chair.  I wanted to reach into the pages and choke this foul mouthed lying republican (democrat in  liars clothing) and save the day for this American Hero, this paragon of American virtue, this woman that I adore and “we” want and need as our next President.

I cannot bring myself to foul these pages with the names of all the much “needed to be slimed reporters” and team members (Headquarters) that were divulged to us in this book.  I would say:  Every person in America that wants our Constitution to remain Our Constitution should boycott each reporter (so called) and station until these persons of non-interest no longer are working to destroy this great country called America.

Getting to know Sarah’s family was … (can’t think of a good word, so)  FUN.  Reminded me of my own brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandparents etc.  Actually made me miss my lower 48ers.

Just suffice it to say:  This is one very well written, easy to understand and totally honest book.  (You just cannot say that about any other political books that have ever been written).  I would recommend this book for all ages, all ethnicities, all sexes, democrats and to social democrats and RINO’s too.

Okay, now you know why I never got more than a D or C- on any of my book reports.  The End.

ladydawnelle,  November 20, 2009 12:22 PM

I read somewhere (sorry it escapes me now) that Republicans would be more upset with this book than Independents.  OH right on Fox that weasal MOrris was it?  We will see as the days go on if there really is a no cross divide between some R's and Indies (the same as there is with some donkeys)
The Libs I used to hang with (most) hated Indies and said "there's nothing down the middle of the road but a Yellow line and road kill"   (all along they are JUST like their counterparts - nothing but haters of the other, I PITY THEM!  the EXTREMISTS! They need help.  A straight jacket maybe.  LOL

Deidre,  November 20, 2009 12:23 PM

And they said Hoffman would win by double digits....I'm not sure I really trust PPP.  They were so off when it came to Hoffman; however, out of all the three (Romney, Huck, and Palin), I think Palin has the most opprotunity to boost her favoribilities

riley4palin,  November 20, 2009 12:23 PM

Great interview with Miller.  The Governor seemed very relaxed.  The pressure is completely off now and she can be herself.  All of her interviews this week have been very good.

I actually like Miller a lot more on his radio show (good radio voice) than when he plays footsie with BOR once a week.

AmeriCuda,  November 20, 2009 12:27 PM

Both of you are right. Problem solved. (:

manajordan,  November 20, 2009 12:43 PM

I really enjoyed this interview. I agree with pthers, she does seem relaxed. She and Dennis both seemed like they just enjoyed chatting.

Im looking forward to her interview with Tammy also. She has not done Glenns show yet either. I wonder if they are purposefully waiting until after his big announcement this weekend.

Ill probably finish the book today. It has been a wonderful read, like sitting down and having a conversation. She has a terrific sense of humor. I found her description of the debate particularly funny.

yogi41,  November 20, 2009 12:44 PM

Rush just threw his napkin down again, this time, on the radio. I didn't hear the caller or what he said, but it must have been derogratory towards Palin. Rush went off, literally. He raised his voice at the caller, defending her honesty and love and respect for America. He said he'd rather have her in the WH right now, rather than Obama. He ended it with "I don't understand how someone can look and experience everything that it going wrong with this leadership right now (he specified terrorist trial, spending, growth of government) and say that the problem is Sarah Palin!"

Then it went to commercial break....

Dan C,  November 20, 2009 12:48 PM

Dennis good to have on your side since hes a very cerebral kinda guy.

Recovering Democrat,  November 20, 2009 12:51 PM

William I loved your book report. I'm still reading the book, and unfortunately, I have a bad habit of skipping around in non-fiction books. I jumped ahead and read the camapign stuff first. I loved the way she referred to the mysterious HQ. LOL

Deidre,  November 20, 2009 1:03 PM

The caller was a democrat stating that he hoped Sarah was the nomination because Obama would win in a landslide.  He then went on to say she is stupid, she's an empty suit, she didn't talk policy at all in her book, she tried to ban books in Wasilla, Huckabee had more policy in his book than Palin did, you know, all that good stuff.  Also said that she is dividing America.  I still don't believe he read the book....wish Rush would have asked him.

Rush then went to ask why he is scared of her, and he didn't really answer.

karenfromny,  November 20, 2009 1:09 PM

If you think about it, she can't be on every show the first week.  It is too much.  She has to save some interviews for the week after thanksgiving.  If she did them all now, what would she do the first week in December.  They have to be spread out.

I would like to see her on Tammy Bruce, Mike Gallagher, Michael Medved

karenfromny,  November 20, 2009 1:10 PM

I didn't see the Andrea Mitchell interview, is there are link?

karenfromny,  November 20, 2009 1:17 PM

It was Geraldine Ferraro on Greta last night, that was saying conservatives would be more upset with the book.  So nice to see Geraldine worry about the conservatives.

She was saying that TITLE IX was a liberal thing and conservatives would disagree with Gov. Palin on the opportunities that title ix gave all women.  I have no idea what was in Geraldine's head when she said that.  All women benefited from that...  Greta quickly called her on it.

Kjanlady,  November 20, 2009 1:29 PM

Almost time to open that special bottle of wine I've been saving to celebrate Sarah's triumph over the lame stream media and elitist liars of both parties.  Maybe I'll use it to toast Sarah tonight on Part 2 of O'Reilly.

Anticipation......by the way......Rush is on a royal rant......just neutered a whiny liberal who came on to attack Sarah.   You go Rush....Sarah has an army of supporters....getting larger every day while Obama's army of thugs and the clueless get more terrified by the day.

Can't wait for that first sip of fruity wine that will probably be followed by many, many, many... more as Sarah's star continues to rise.

Recovering Democrat,  November 20, 2009 1:36 PM

O/T ... Does anyone have the link to the Geraldine exchange with Greta? I keep hearing that she was bashing Sarah for praising Title IX and bashing some Republicans. Maybe she was just trying to claim her for the liberal side! Ha!

Bill in Baltimore,  November 20, 2009 1:44 PM

PEC,

I thought Cal was very snarky, it was written as if we imbeciles don't have a clue about her and we should deign to his highness pontificating on high.

Examples:
"her celebrity flows singularly from John McCain's choice of her as a running mate"
- singularly ???

equating Sarah as the "queen of politics" just like Oprah is "the queen of talk"
- oh, so a diva

hung up on the Kouric interview

says she can get the intellectual depth "IF she gets serious about it"

Link

all he does is give ammunition to the enemy, imo

Mark R-CA,  November 20, 2009 1:44 PM

PPP is pretty damn accurate.  They were right on point with Christie and McDonnell this year.  They were off in the NY-23 race, though, where they projected Hoffman would win in a 17 point landslide.

The real story is Sarah's amazing improvement since the summer, on this same poll.  If you look at the internals of this poll, you will see how dramatically Sarah has improved in support from women.  Oprah and Baba Walters were genius moves on Sarah's part.

Mark R-CA,  November 20, 2009 1:47 PM

Rush gave Sarah, in my opinion, her best interview thus far.  His depiction of "Going Rogue" as a policy book is the most accurate review I've read too.  Common sense conservatism: the blueprint, is all over the entire book.  It is told through anecdotes, not some Charlie Gibson teaching snoozefest.  That's what makes Sarah so powerful and the haters so damn threatened.

PEC,  November 20, 2009 1:51 PM

Just remember one time he told her to just go away.  Now he at least is saying we will see where she is in 3 years.  Bottomline some of the elitists are at least beginning to realize that despite their efforts she is it.

I remember PPP reporting that Doug Hoffman would win in  a landslide in NY-23.  Their polling is full of bull crap...rubbish.

Bestbud,  November 20, 2009 1:57 PM

Recoverning

Geraldine was nonsensical... really trying to discredit Sarah saying she was loosing voters by some of her remarks then couldn't make sense when telling what the remarks were.

Im thinking there is a lot of jealousy with her now that Sarah has captured the country as the first REAL WOMEN on a national ticket.

Say, Im showing up in the Ozarks on tuesday Dec 1 about noon-ish.... close to the school!... maybe we can eventually get together some how

OT - just got bask from the Borders book store in Columbus OH.

Sarah is shceduled to be here from 6 to 9pm

People arrived at 10pm last night to get the bracelets.People who did not get the bracelets are upset b/c they feel they wasted their time. Many blame store management for poorly oranized event.

Borders atore is located in NW suburb of Columbus. It is relitivelly large bookstore for our city. The management does everyng they can - they are super friendly and helpful with people.

People do not realize that small towns are not custom for a supser star appearance. The only big events in Columbs are OSU footbal games. So I would not blame the Borders store management for any wrongdoing. They really do their best to keep the order and take care of customers.

Wm Henley,

I am only on page 20 or so and I am loving it.

She is one special lady, and having raised two girls (and a son), it is just a tremendous read.

Seriously, how anyone in their right mind does not support this woman is beyond me.

but it's simple
- many are not in their right mind
- many do not know her

If you haven't purchased the new "People" magazine, please do.   The interview with Sarah is fair and balanced and the photos are great!!

I know. I thought maybe the old gal didn't take her meds that day. I am an Ultra Conservative in my 40's. Title IX is just haow it has always been to me. I imagine most of the people who fought Title IX are old enough to just be worried about their death panel, not Title IX. Besides,  I bet most of them went by the name "Coach" and taught Social Studies. That is as dumb as saying Consevatives will have a problem with the "liberal" idea of letting women vote. All of those Consevatives are dead now.

Anonymous,  November 20, 2009 6:21 PM

Polls this far out mean nothing.  Heck, Obama was 20+ pts behind Clinton as of Thanksgiving, 2007.

The bottom line is that both Huckabee, Romney and Palin all get the same amount(43-44)/  Obama does slightly better against Palin 51 vs 48-49 but that's well within the margin of error and a small difference anyway.

Of course PPP never mentions the obvious reasons for even that disparity.  Ever since Aug, 29, 2008 the Democratic Pary/Obama campaign/administration and its media allies have waged a nonstop and relentless assault on her, her family, her record, everything.  Over a year of brutal, unrelenting negativity.  Meanwhile, no one has said anything about Huckabee or Romney.  Where do you think they'd be after a similar effort against them.  You know it's coming if they're the nominee.  No need for anyone to do it now.

Huck and Romney are all at 37-39 UF.  After the Obama WH and the media get through with them, they'll easily be in Palin's UF territory.  Palin's F are already higher, even with the media onslaught.

Her UF are high because dems and liberals don't like her.  Mainly because she ran against Obama and became the personification of the anti-Obama movement.

Look for example at F/UF among McCain voters.  Palin is 74-18, Huck at 62-15, and Romney at a rather modest 47-20.  Among Obama voters Huck and Romney are tied at around a 57-12 UF, Palin has an 83-7 UF.  Anyone knows that by the time the Obama mahcine gets through with the other 2 they'll be right where she is.

Look at F/UF by ideology.  Among Conservatives, Palin is at 80-12.  Huck at 66-8.  Romney at 46-22.  Palin is 75% more favorable among conservatives than Romney.  Considering Romney spent all of 2007 and 100 Million dollars as the conservative choice, that's a pathetic showing.  But the difference is seen among libs and moderates.  Both have similar F among mods.  Palin 23, Huck 25, Romney 26.  But in UF it's not close.  Palin 62, Huck 45, Romney 37.  Among Liberals Palin's at 93, Huck 75 and Romney 80.  Again, her negs are hig because of the huge assault.  That will come for the other two.

Again, by party.  Palin is 75-15 among R.  Huck is 65-11.  Mitt is 48-19.  Not even half of R are F towards him.  He spent a yr campaigning. 100 million.  The support of the beltway and establishment.  Palin spent 2 months campaigning, was treated like Rihanna by Chris Brown, and then "quit" and was reduced to ridicule anda laughingstock.  Palin is 49 UF among Is.  Obama is 46 disapprove among Is.  Now who's polarizing?

And they have Romney at 17% F among blacks??  I don't think anyone believes that.  Just wait until the media spends weeks recounting the history of the Mormon Church and the black community.  And they have all 3 getting 13% of the black vote.  If any Republican gets 13% of the black vote vs Obama I would agree to watch the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric every night for a year.  He'd also lose in a landslide in that scenario.  The GOP getting 13% of the black vote and still losing to Obama makes no sense whatsoever.  It would never happen.

BTW, the Youth vote.  Romney is at 8% F.  Palin at 25.  Not great, but still 3X his.  She's at 52F among Seniors, compared to 33 for Obama.  Think death panels played a part in that.  If we can grow our edge among seniors we can blunt Obama's youth support.  Somehow, though they have Romney doing the same vs 18-19 and better among seniors vs Obama than her despite her much better favorables.  Doesn't really make sense.

The bottom line is she as as much if not more support than anyone.  She also has more opposition at this point.  To be expected.  Her support would seem to be pretty well ensconced.  If you still like her [...]

Anonymous,  November 20, 2009 6:24 PM

this poll was taken before either of those aired.  In retrospect, it was pretty stupid that the campaign didn't have her on a profile interview with a Walters or Sawyer or whoever early on.  Threw her to Gibson and Couric right away.  Also, ceding editing control was a mistake of epic proportions.

Huskers-For-Palin,  November 20, 2009 6:25 PM

Don't expect Sarah to be on Niel Bortz or Michael Savage

Bortz has a bug up his butt
Savage is just plain wacko-jacko

Anonymous,  November 20, 2009 6:33 PM

BTW, here's some McCain-Obama polls from late 2006:

Rasmuseen Nov 2006:  M 47 O 39
FOX News/OD Dec 2006 M 49 O 30
Newsweek Dec 2006 M 45 O 43
CNN Dec 2006 M 47 O 43
IBD/TIPP Jan 2007 M 48 O 36
Battleground Jan 2007 M 51 O 39
Hotline Jan 2007 M 43 O 38

Good thing the Dems and media wrote Obama off and said he had no chance against McCain.

I am a product of Title ix.  I remember I was part of the girls high school track team.  The first year there was a girls track team.  I tell my daughters this story, and they think "where did I live".  They take for granted (as they should) that girls can participate in sports just like the guys.  Athletic scholarships are available for guys and girls equally.

So Geraldine, knock it off....

Wonderful analysis.  I completely agree.  People can underestimate Sarah at their own risk.
