Governor Palin to Participate in 5K Run to Benefit the Red Cross

The AP is reporting that Governor Palin and quite a few family members will be participating in a Thanksgiving Day 5K run to benefit the Red Cross:

RICHLAND, Wash. — Sarah Palin is taking a Thanksgiving break from her book tour to spend time with family members in Washington for a 5K run to benefit the Red Cross.

Palin detailed her plans Wednesday on Twitter.

Heather Filbin with the Benton-Franklin Chapter of the American Red Cross said about 25 Palin relatives had registered for the annual Turkey Trot at Kennewick's Columbia Park.

Palin plans to have dinner at the home of her aunt Katie Johnson.

She intends to resume her book tour Sunday, signing copies of "Going Rogue" at a book store in Richland.

Governor Palin confirmed this today via Twitter:

Leaving Florida to meet family from Texas/Alaska/Washington. We run in Red Cross charity 5k race tmrrw in Richland b4 Thanksgiving dinner...

I used to run and wish I could be there to run with Sarah and her family.  She does alot of good for our country even when she is taking some down time.

Posted earlier that we just might get a glimpse of Sarah running.  Oh my, am I psychic?

Also, Headline on Lucianne

PALIN SOLD 7 TIMES MORE BOOKS THAN OBAMA

Sarah sold 700,000 books in the first week, 7X the sales of The Audacity of Hype.

That makes me laugh, with an evil tenor.

There is nothing better than to participate in a Thanksgiving day Run.  It makes you grateful for your health. Setting the theme for the day.

It would be fun if people could get footage of this race and possibly others that she participates in with the crowd cheering "Run Sarah Run!!!"  :-)

That's so great of her. I bet she is really looking forward to it. Dang, I wish I still lived there, or that at least my family did :)

Has anyone noticed they have a video on Politico with Greta interviewing McCain:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29906.html

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Tuesday night that the attacks on Sarah Palin, his former vice presidential running mate, are unlike anything he has ever seen.

“I’m entertained and sometimes a little angry when I see this constant, vicious attacks by people on the left,” McCain said of Palin during an interview with Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren.

“’I’ve never seen anything like it in all the years that I’ve been in politics,” McCain continued, “the viciousness and the personalization of the attacks on Sarah Palin.”

I run the Carlsbad 5000 every year, that is when my knee's are working.

Hey I used to go watch the Carlsbad 5000... Still have the t-shirt. We lived in Enicinitas for 3 years.

What's wrong with your knees, Inde? I have a terrible knee. I'm getting knee replacement in two weeks, in fact. At age 41, my docs finally relented.

I hope McCain loses, I really do. I swear to God, who is ENTERTAINED by someone else's family getting ripped to shreds, and a good woman's hard-earned reptuation being destroyed by cowardly anonymous people who would never dare state something on the record.

johnmd,  November 25, 2009 8:19 PM

I finally ordered my book last night. I was holding off hoping she would hold a book event close to me, but after seeing all the long waits it became clear that it was out of the question. I did the Sarahpac thing as i wanted to donate one more time this year. At least it will have a signed sticker in it.

OldDude,  November 25, 2009 8:22 PM

Runnin' with the Cuda...wouldn't life be grand!  Trashed both my knees over the years so my track and cross country days are a fading memory...but a totally wonderful memory!  My fantasy life is still pretty good though....

I think that Sarah running a 5K in the middle of a grueling (for mere mortals!) book tour says once again that there is no way you can put her into a nice neat little box.  I thought the same thing when she was asked which celebrity she had ever stood in line for.  She said "Herschel Walker" and "Ivana Trump."  Let's see the synapses connect on that one, my furry liberal friends!

Whatever your plans are, Sarah, let's rock and roll!!!!!!

The weather was FabUlous...But...unfortunately...I was stuck in a hotel most of the time...attending a conference...:(

JeanA,  November 25, 2009 8:35 PM

I finally broke down and donated $100.00 to SarahPAC to get my book signed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

johnmd,  November 25, 2009 8:35 PM

She is reloading , you just have to wonder how big the shells are she is going to use. We dont need to worry but some libs may want to look for cover.

Indemind,  November 25, 2009 8:36 PM

Pass life, N.Y.C.P.D.  long story, ducked when I should jumped.

Have a Happy and Safe one.

johnmd,  November 25, 2009 8:50 PM

Has anyone heard if there is going to be a  Sarah 2010 calendar. It would be a great money maker for Sarahpac given the way the last 2 weeks.

Nancy,  November 25, 2009 8:54 PM

Katie Couric should interview Governor Palin while she is running that 5k. That would be YouTube Gold Baby!
In her heels and skirt, with a microphone, trying to keep up with Governor Palin.

johnmd,  November 25, 2009 9:02 PM

You wouldn't be a little sadistic would you Nancy ?

johnmd,  November 25, 2009 9:03 PM

Besides if she fell we might get more of a view than we want and it's to close to meal time.

Nande,  November 25, 2009 9:13 PM

Hm...That reminds me: I think we have a local Turkey Trot (or a few) here in my high-altitude rocky mountain state.  I should check on that. If I pretend I'm Gov. Palin instead of me, maybe I'll run faster and it will hurt less than normal! :-)

Run, Sarah, Run!!

Neo,  November 25, 2009 9:20 PM

I live 4 miles from the race venue.  I will be there with camera in hand at 0700PDT to stake out my spot.  Race starts around 0830.

I'll send the slide show to the editors here at C4P and maybe they will post it.

I'll have more photos from a weekend event and will have video of the Sunday book signing.

KeeleyH,  November 25, 2009 9:37 PM

I think he he was referring to the left with the "entertained" part, seeing how unhinged they are.

juju,  November 25, 2009 10:19 PM

Yes, I think the gal that did the calendar last year has one for this year.  Check Amazon...they probably have it.

juju,  November 25, 2009 10:20 PM

Sarah wants to interview Katie....I wish the first question would be "where did you take your dancing lessons??"   Did you all see that pic. on HA of Katie dancing.  Looked like she was about to need to change her depends.

hrh,  November 25, 2009 10:39 PM

Sarah's "Happy Thanksgiving" post is now up on Facebook. :)

Puma.for.Life,  November 26, 2009 11:53 AM

I think he meant he did not take it seriously, the attacks, I don't think he meant he found them entertaining.
