Is the full interview on the Friday night's 20/20 or just another segment?
Full interview will be on 20/20.
I get the feeling Barbara respects and likes Palin. Oprah appeared to be interviewing someone she felt was beneath her.
Thanks. You all are really on top of things.
Sarah looks fabulous and had a real spirited streak in this interview.
Can't wait to move pass the gossipy stuff though.
I especially appreciate the Cuda's smack down of the Nobel peace prize and her rating of Oblabla's performance. She really is portraying a side of herself that is not going to take any foolishness. Hope she keeps it up.
Interview seems a bit slanted against Sarah. Little comments and the narrative thrown in by Barbara and the other journalist continue to show the pattern of the media. They will either covertly or overtly try to discredit Sarah and prop up Obama. Do Americans really care if Barbara won't eat moose? I believe it is better for you than beef. "Harsh words for Obama?" If Barbara considers Sarah's words harsh, then what word does she use to describe the lies, smears, and unjust criticism directly at Sarah?
It's a shame they don't report fairly and let the American people decide what they believe based on the truth.
She did a great job! The commentary before and after from the GMA peeps is a little annoying. But, listening to Sarah was delightful. Its fun to see and hear from her.
O/T On Laura Ingraham is having a debate between David Frum and John Ziegler.
It could be a bloodbath.
Thank you C4P, Daniel and Sheya for getting these clips up so quickly!:)
Interesting to note that Barbara shows Sarah the "Newsweek" cover. Apparently Barbara must think the cover is inappropriate as well or she wouldn't have shown it to Sarah. Naturally, Barbara doesn't make that comment--but why show Sarah it if you didn't think it was controversial. Too bad Barbara missed this "teachable moment." She could have taken a stand against sexism--but she chose instead to be silent. Thanks, Barbara. Women everywhere can count on you to do nothing in the fight against sexism.
Tuned out as soon as I heard Frum's voice. I hope Ingraham comes down on the right side! "Neutral" doesn't cut it. Frum's slime and any un-biased consevative host should rip him a new one.
My favorite part of any of Sarah's interviews is that she never utters the word "maverick".
so why did some people say the interview was terriable- do people the first segment was that bad? i thought second segment was very good by a palin
Hmm, personally I prefer this interview with Barbara Walters than that with Oprah. Perhaps it's just because I don't particularly like talk shows but this one seems to have better questions and better answers.
O/T Governor Palin is an "Enormous obstacle" to the Republican party-David Frum.
Always "Talking about herself"-David Frum
"Lack of knowledge", "resigned her office"-David Frum
I look forward to watching this after I get home from work (and purchasing the book). I'm going to have decide if I want to watch the interview or begin reading the book first! What a dilemma! ;)
Thanks for all of your work in getting these clips up so quickly!
I totally agree with you. I really liked this interview and I liked the close-ups with Sarah it made Sarah look more professional and she seemed very relaxed and answered without hesitation.
O/T If we nominate Governor Palin will "Lead this nation to a 1964 election disaster"-David Frum
You go Guv!
No hesitation. To the point. From the heart. Very solid. Candid. In control.
So far on this interview fantastic!
Sheya, Thank you for providing the clips. I tried to watch that corrupt station this morning but got physically ill with the liberal propaganda I was unwillingly subjected to and turned it off...especially the ABC poll claiming fantastical Obama popularity. Sarah was......a superstar...and BaaBaa actually acted somewhat restrained. I'll be glad when we get past these obligatory liberal media events and get to the great honest interviews to follow. Rush is going to be great.
I read on another thread where someone went to WalMart at 2am to get Sarah's book even though she had one on order. I am going to make a Rogue run right after the Rush interview and am seriously considering getting a third signed copy from Sarahpac. The first copy I ordered is just for educational purposes, the second copy I get today is an early birthday present to myself...my birthday is one month from today and the third signed copy with the $100 donation to Sarahpac will be a Christmas present to myself. See, all women have that unique ability to justify a bit of overspending. Besides having several copies of Sarah's book will allow me to highlight my favorite Sarah quotes....guiltfree.
The Governor looked to be herself, relaxed and in command this interview. Thanks for the clips.
I loved her responses about Obama job performance 4 scale rating and not deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. Why didn't Babs expand on her responses hmmmm? Too bad Oprah didn't ask that one yesterday. It would have been nice to see Oprah shift in her seat and go to an unscheduled commercial break.
Barbara and Diane Sawyer are elitist snobs. Sawyer sat behind her desk and prodded Babs again about the McCain camp dysfunction. Didn't Sawyer gain anything else from the interview?
And while the Palin children love Mom's cooking and eat Moose Hot Dogs with Cheese, Babs and Diane are eating a 1/2 portion Salad (with no dressing) at some snooty restaurant in NYC that charges $25 a pop.
These MSM people have no clue what real life is like. It is no wonder they look puzzled everytime they see Governor Palin. She is so far removed from them, it is downright baffling.
These people are borderline psychotic. This is the 1st time she's spoken about herself since the resignation. THEY can't stop (to the point of needing a restraining order). If Laura doesn't defend her, she's in Scarbourough's league for me from now on. I'll chalk it up to Palin envy.
Yeah, the moose hot dog with cheese answer by both kids was the best.
Sarah should have opened her bag at that point and handed BW a moose dog.
Bon Appetit Barb.
I know it's been said before, but I love her directness. There is no beating around the bush when it comes to answering questions about Obama and his performance.
Can you imagine Romney or Huck or T-Paw being this candid? No. They always have to hem and haw and begin with "I like the President and he's doing well in such-and-such area, but perhaps he can do better in this area and blah, blah, blah." They always think they have to kiss his butt before making a comment about his policies or performance, yet Sarah has never answered a question with all any prefaces.
So yeah, I enjoyed her candid remarks about his Nobel Peace Prize (undeserving) and rating him a 4 on a scale of 1-10. The others would have given him a 7 or so.
And I thought Walters was impartial and her editing was very fair. I understand why she didn't comment about the sexist Newsweak cover; she's not supposed to, as a journalist. She was there to ask questions and elicit responses from Sarah. I like that, so far, she didn't inject her own opinion into the interview. It's so rare we see that nowadays.
O/T We need leaders who can learn, and study and think-David Frum
O/T
David Frum is being used by the media to destroy Governor Palin-John Ziegler
If I had any role in steering people to Tim Pawlenty or some other leader in the Republican party, (other than Governor Palin) I will be proud-David Frum
David Frum: "Sarah Palin is a distraction."
David Brooks: "Sarah Palin is a joke."
From conservatives and not Obama or the Democrats
Laura Ingraham: "I don't think Sarah Palin is going to run for President."
I wonder sometimes how people touted as so smart can be really so dumb.
Ok if Ingraham doesn't step up and start defending these attacks or at least trying, she is done with me. I have not been happy with her lately and if she is just going to sit there and let him slam the Guv with no push back, I am done with her.
And I hope the Guv calls her up today and says, never mind on the interview next week.
Laura Ingraham wake up and start acting like a conservative.
I know it's been stated before, but I really love her candidness when answering questions. Can you imagine Mitt, Mike or T-Paw being that candid when criticizing the President's performance? No, they would not. They, and others, always have to preface their criticism with niceties, but Palin doesn't. When she said he didn't deserve the Nobel or rated him a 4 out of 10, it was truthful and she didn't couch it with nice prefaces.
As for Walters, I give her kudos. She was impartial and her editing was very fair. As for Walters not responding with her own opinion about the Newsweek cover, I understand why she didn't. She wasn't there to give her opinion to Sarah, but rather, to ask and elicit responses from her. It was rare to see a journalist act like one, for once. :)
The countdown continues....Facebook @ 996,388....only 3612 supporters to reach 1,000,000. Does the millionth supporter get a signed copy of Going Rogue?
for msm i thought walters and gma crew were actaully better than expected. palin handled herself very well. i know i am biased but her honesty seesm to shine through
I'm not listening. Is it really that bad? Isn't Ziegler defending her?
I do not get Laura Ingraham ever since the election.
During the election she was defending the Governor, even starting a YouTube movement for people to make clips of "smart people for Governor Palin", with her making one herself.
People now calling in, taking on David Frum. Too bad, he isn't in studio anymore to talk to the little people.
yogi41,
Ziegler kept telliing David Frum, you haven't read the book. Read the book, she explains why she resigned.
And saying David was being used by the media to destroy the only star and fighter in the Republican party.
Don't forget what Carl Berstein said, I think after she resigned, he essentially called her an idiot. I can't get to the link, it's at home.
O/T - I'm listening to Frum vs Zeigler on Laura Ingraham and I want to reach through the monitor and choke David. He said Sarah does not have the experience and leadership to be prez.
What are the requirements to be Prez?? Is there a magic number of years as US Senator and/or Governor that I'm not aware of?? We have people like Biden who went to college and became a lawyer. Then, he used his family name to become a long term Senator. He is a career politican in my book. Where has he even shown he has leadership skills?? Has he even had to make a payroll?? What major piece of legislation has he shown leadership??
Then we have Oba-Mao who has shown leadership on what after one year in office?? On this question, i would truly like to know where he has shown this?? Stimulas?? Health Care?? War on Terror?? Where??
Next for Oba-Mao is his character. This is his biggest liability and easy for a person to see through. I would be here all day listing the faults he has here.
I thought old white (angry) guys were the scumbags of the earth ?
Apparently they still "got it" -
Brooks
Frum
G. Will
Bernstein
Dunne
etc. etc. etc.
David Frum - The most irrelevant RINO windbag ever. As a matter of fact, I would never let him be my garbage collector either. He would be too concerned if I separated the paper from the plastic properly in the recylcle bin.
O/T Ziegler also said, if she was still Governor of Alaska she wouldn't have been able to post that Facebook post that changed policy on the ObamaCare bill.
And Laura said, hey, that's a good point.
And David Frum poo-pooed it. Well, death panels wasn't even in the bill.
And Laura said, well wasn't that a metaphor for rationing?
David said, no she lied about that whole thing.
Those people are called "students", David.
Looks like little Davie has found his purpose in life. He will lead and influence hundreds while Sarah will lead and influence millions.
Is Frum the Canadian one? Canada just had a 6.6 magnitude earthquake this morning. Maybe the country is ticked at Frum?
I know that there are some Canadians here. What do you all think?
My sentiments exactly. Thats how I viewed the Letterman & Faye stuff from the 1st segment.
I loved the way she just pops those bubbles, "a far, he's dithering (on Afghanistan) he may earn the Nobel Prize someday, but not for two weeks in office, I'm not going to give Letterman any ratings by showing up"
I've said this before. Laura Ingraham lives in the beltway and has that elitist aura about her. I was very, very, suprised that Governor Palin agreed to an interview with her.
Perhaps the Governor still has time to ask Hannity to have Coulter join them for the last 10 minutes of their interview.
Can you just imagine Governor Palin and Ann Coulter discussing conservative principles together in one room on National TV? Oh my oh my. Hannity could just walk off camera and leave the women to do the heavy lifting of tearing apart Obama's decision about the delayed Fort Hood investigation and the KSM trial in NYC.
O/T
Glenn Beck awesome about the gamesmanship by the media and how last year, Governor Palin didn't get that, and neither did he. And how she learned that and played David Letterman.
I loved the part of the BW interview where Governor Palin said that his joke wasn't funny, and she did not want to give him the ratings boost by going on his show, but she wants to sell books, so keep talking about her.
She is something else.
Techno, those guys are not conservative. Palin is separating the wheat (true conservatives) from the shaft (RINOs).
Look David is still strongly pro Israel and in defense of Afghanistan, why he still gives Obama the time of day, because of that, is a mystery. Why does Laura give him the time of day, he's not
a "Power to the People" guy.
Never liked Will. I remember the day Reagan left office. He was asked as part of a panel where he thought Reagan would be ranked. He "decreed" in stentorian terms "He'll be ranked among the 1st rank of the second rank of American presidents".
Will never got Reagan although he's latched onto his legacy. He'll never get Sarah and I'm glad.
First of all a big thanks to Daniel and Sheya....
Listening to Sarah is heart warming to say the least ... Im thinking skeptical Americans will be doing some serious soul searching as it relates to their old rather shallow campaign impressions of Sarah... now is a 180 degree different atmosphere in America... Obama mania and especially Obama himself have been exposed... the real Obama is bigger than life now!... his agenda and personal beliefs and actions completely contrary to the deceiving candidate.
Awake!... Americans have become!... We don't like what we purchased, the packaging and product empty of quality and value... were taking it back to the manufacture and demanding our hard earned money BACK... of course we wont get an immediate cash refund but will be given a credit to purchase at a later time of our choosing... 2010/2012!
Barbara Walter is a professional unlike Katie Couric.
The requirements are that you've either got the appropriate Ivy league coat of arms or that you've bowed and scraped sufficiently to those who have. Peggy Noonan, for example, went to Fairleigh fricken Dickenson in East "Rutafuhd" NJ (they accepted ME for God's sake and I cut 2/3rds of my senior year in high school), but she's bowed and scraped enough. Nothing's more elitist than a parvenu.
She can handle her liquor though...
BTW, if anyone has or can get the audio of the Frum/Ziegler exchange, I'd like to hear it. Thx. You can email it to tips@conservatives4palin.com.
Im with kjanlady who posted a bit earlier... Sarah gained 4000 to 5000 thousand followers from last evening to to now... approaching 997,000, at this rate one(1) million is within hours... Im pumped and ready to, $10, $20, $30 or what ever one can afford to give from the heart, hit the send button!!
What a message will be sent!... millions of 'Sarah-Bucks' flowing home to where they can be spread throughout America by our TRUSTED leader!
Nancy
Im glad your have a strong stomach doing the play by play... Im getting the quizzes!
Eugene Robinson published an editorial that is on RCP and HotAir comparing Sarah Palin to Eva Peron. Who are these people? They are not human beings. You can tell by his writing that he has no idea who Eva Peron was....except for maybe his one viewing of "Evita" on Broadway. The attacks are going to get worse when she starts talking policy.
Sorry that's chaff not shaft (the stalk of the wheat). From Matthew 3:12 "His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
But your analogy is right on! Frum and Brooks are the chaff!
I just e-mail Rush and asked him if he ask Gov. Palin if she is form a new issues site
called "Stand up for your Nation".
Here is Rush's e-mail address. ElRushbo@eibnet.com
You will it from me if Rush says from Cory in NY.
Frum has hundreds of followers? Was that a typo?
Beehive
You took the words and thought right out of my hand... Boldness exemplified in those two great kids... this is who I am and and proud of It!... and if you want a real President... It's my MOM!
I prefer this interview with Walters than that with Oprah.
Sarah did a great job.
I really didn't get that impression from Oprah. I thought both Walters and Oprah were taken aback by the woman they interviewed, and found her to be warm, fiesty, opinionated and both seemed to connect with her.
Politics aside, I think Palin is providing all of America with an insight as to what it is like for a woman to run for one of the highest offices in the country. I don't recall Ferraro discussing her journey and Mrs. Clinton certainly has not provided her thoughts on the experience. This is the first time a woman has shared with the country her experience running on a national ticket. I dearly love this country, but we showed an ugly side of ourselves with the treatment of both Clinton and Palin. The thing with Palin is, her story isn't finished, and she may very well be the first female president.
Yah, yah, I know conservatives aren't about the gender issues and such but to me, as a woman, I do want to hear what she thought of her experience. She's a role model to me and I do hope many other women, ahem conservative women, follow in her footsteps.
Sheya thank you for getting this video out so quick, Sarah looks great and looked
more relaxed with Barb. then Oprah, I agree with riley4palin that barbara and
Sawyer, are elitist snobs. And that sarah just has so much more Class.
sarah 2012
How would you rate Obama's job performance on a scale between 1 and 10?
Governor Palin: I would give him a 4.
Mittens: Even though I was a CEO of a large corporation, I am not really into providing facts to support my decision at this time. What is your next question Barbara?
Huck: It is the Holiday season. Ho, Ho, Ho. Wanna buy my new book? I'll throw in a "Little Rockers" CD if you purchase today. I wish the President well. It is a hard job.
Pawlenty: What did Sarah Palin say? Okay, me too. I give him a 4 rating.
Newt: I give him a strong 8. It is a tough job being President. He is doing a remarkable job.
No, the stimulus is much more Evita's style, 'the money keeps rushing in (or out as the case may be)
Oh man when she started talking about the President's policies and the economy she really came alive! I know that Walters' asks her about the death panels comment and the bailouts in upcoming segments so this interview isn't total gossip. I read a review of Palin's performance on Oprah over at the NRO blog devoted to her, and the reviewer stated that nearly every woman in that audience was hanging on her every word. Did you all catch Diane leaning forward looking into the monitor after Palin finished a segment with Walters this morning? Diane was so engrossed with what Palin was saying in spite of herself. I know some eyes are going to roll here, but back me up here ladies, personal stories really suck women in and Palin's story is incredible. Love her or hate her she's a compelling figure who doesn't fit into any conventional molds and I think a lot of women really connect with her. Yes the gossipy stuff will linger, but for the most part it'll pass. Once Palin goes on her speaking tours and starts stumping for candidates that'll fade way. Reconnect viscerally then keep them hanging on with arguments. Palin knows how this works ;)
Yes. Thank you, Sheya, for the clips! I'm glad that I don't have to wade through the before and after chit-chat.
I thought the interviews were well done overall. I'd give Barbara and GMA an 8. I also found the after interview chatting a little annoying re: who cares that Barbara wouldn't eat a moose dog?
The other banter that stuck in my craw was their riff on "Bull Crap"! First they want a woman to be strong enough to stand up eyeball to eyeball (rather than eyeball to lo-ball as in Japan!) but then they do not want their effeminate sensibilities offended by "un-ladylike" language. Classic damned if you do, damned if you don't!
Still, well done overall and the Guv sparkled...much more substantive than Oprah and a harbinger of things to come.
What was Laura thinking?
That will turn out like when Geraldo had that chair hit his face when he was stupid enough to put a Neo-Nazi and a Jewish Defense League rep. on the same stage.
Zeigler just might beat the tar out of Frum. I know he deserves it, but it would still look bad.
By the way, if Sarah goes to CPAC, I'm going again. And if Frum is there, you will want to film my ....discussion with him. It will be something along the lines of "Hey, Frummy, the C in CPAC is for conservative. What the hell are you doin hear?" I know he won't show cause he probably lives in DC and it bore the hell out of him, but man he is such a fool. He's got maybe 5 whole people that comment on his shallow site.
Both segments were good. Piper was a kick. Notice that she got a little bit on the policy side too. That transition from personal to policy will gradually shift and her timing will be just right.
Laura is in the doghouse.
I have been just disgusted in the way Laura does not stick up for a conservative woman. I can't stand her.
The women here need to put the smackdown on Laura. She talks conservative and then acts like a total Rombot like Carpenter and Ham.
Disgraceful.
David Frum and the like are like pruned branches of a sick and dying "Republican Tree"... they need to be cut away for new life to flourish with a treatment of loving care by Sarah's life enhancing formula!
Scream and holler David Frum!... it's natural and understandable to protect the species... but like the life cycle... It's survival of the fittest-weak and old rhetoric wont scare anymore!
I wished...oh how I wished...oh how I so wished...Sarah would have said...
"Well Barbara...many...LIKE YOURSELF...believed that I really had said I can see Russia from my house. You stupid flakey dumbass!" "How come Barbara...as a so called journalist...you failed to do YOUR homework before hopping on that bandwagon?"
Someone needs to ask Frum if he can honestly argue that Pawlenty would ever be able to counter such a huge personality like Obama? We all have our opinions on Obama but I think we can all recognize that Obama is a charismatic person and I can only image the image of juxtaposing whitebread Pawlenty against the megawatt grin of Obama. Please. You're not goint to defeat an American Idol president with Opie. Clearly it takes more than charisma to win, but you at minimum need charisma.
Yeah, techno, I'm wondering. There was no holiday to delay a report.
Robinson must not be serious. If she were Evita Peron, Robinson would endorse her.
If he thinks Gov. Palin is inexperiened for the Presidency then please tell me how GWB was experienced for the Presidency? I voted for GWB. Hell he was my governor for several years, but I gotta tell you the Governorship of Texas doesn't have the amount of power that say, Alaska's Gov has. I think Palin is a better speaker than GWB. Has Frum suddenly changed his mind that GWB wasn't experienced either? Because from where I sit, Palin has better experience administrating a State then GWB did.
I will forever be grateful to GWB and his support of our military. I just had issues with his domestic agenda. Thank god we don't have a "dislike" button. ;)
When I was at CPAC, I went through Ann Coulter's booksigning line with my Sarah poster but then I found out she was only signing books. So I borrowed a book of hers from another guy and got her to sign it correctly with a message for the gentleman's friend. As she finished up, I told her "Ann, you cannot imagine how much I want you to sign my Sarah poster." She laughed and smiled.
Be nice.
David Frum is doubling down on maniacal misogyny.
I agree. Sarah is more experienced than W was before he ran for POTUS.
Frum trying to "nip" the Sarah movement in the bud is like an ant biting an oak tree.
Cruela
I remember that "BULL CRAP" of Barbara's too.... I'm cannot put into words how proud I am of Sarah's "telling It like It is"... "Bull Crap" leaves a smell and image of exactness! ... politics has meet the most beautiful, fun filed, happy, playful and loving MAMA GRIZZLY!
Great analogy. LOVE IT!
BestBud,
BULL CRAP...should be our new rallying cry,
When the msm start to raise their lying heads....yell out...BULL CRAP!
When "fellow republicans" start spouting their condescending/know it all comments...yell out...BULL CRAP!
When the liberals start sprouting their elitists attitudes...yell out...BULL CRAP.
Has a great ring to it and it just feels good yelling it!...;-)
I recentley read "The Reagan Diaries", and Ronald Reagan wrote many times about going to George Will's house, for dinner and to discuss politics.
Dumbest thin I ever heard. After '64 Republicans went on and won 5 out of the next 6 elections and if not for Watergate would have likely made it 6-6. If Sarah is "so bad" and that is the end result then you think Frum would be jumping all on this. Oh and as much as Frum would love to rewrite history the biggest reason for 64s big win for Dems was Kennedy's Assasination and much like 9/11 the Nation rallied around the President. Not saying Goldwater would have won but there would have been different margins. Much like if Bush would have run in 2002 it would have been a huge landslide.
Yeah I LOVED Bull crap too..and the look on Babs face was priceless like she had never heard someone utter that word before..HAHA poor Baba, its Ok babs, we are all adults, we can handle the word crap LOL..the interview was GREAT, I woke up at 7am to hear it..and yeah I dont just wake up at 7am to hear anyone..I woke up to hear Sarah!! and great news, my book was shipped today from amazon.com YAY gonna be delivered on friday
Did she ask if she was a tree, what kind of tree she would be.
I would be a happy camper if I never hear the word Maverick again.
I loved Sarah's answer to the Bristol pregnancy question. I know she sort of answered it the same way with Oprah, but with Walters she just seemed more serious and determined for us to know that teenage pregnancy is rampent, and they could have used Bristol's as an example.
I also loved how she didn't hesitate for one second that she totaly supports birth control.
The liberal women need to know that about her.
Nah, I'll give him his due. He has a few hundred people reading his site and on his Twitter... so, yes, he has hundreds.
I think they will also have parts of the interview on GMA again on Wednesday.
I agree. I thought Oprah treated her fine. I would have liked more serious questions, but that is not what Oprah is about. I hope that the full 20/20 interview goes into more detail on Alaska politics.
I loved how she said "bull crap". And Barbara said that is why people like her, she calls it like she sees it.
I will back you up, TexMex!
That is why during the Olympics, they do all of those up close and personal segments on the athletes, because they want to pull the women in. We love to know the struggles, disappointments, victories, and personal stories, of the athletes.
My nephew said one time that if their family wants their mom to watch a basketball game on tv with them, they will tell her a personal story about a player, and she will be sucked in, and watch with them. Like, but mom, this guy's mom is in the Army and over in Iraq right now, and is taking care of his little brother, and boom, my sister in law sits down and is engrossed in the game.
So, Governor Palin's story is so American, and just working her way up in her chosen career.
Rush. has got Sarah, on LIVE.
sarah 2012
I really liked the O interview ...I felt O treated her with respect...Governor Palin looked great gave great answers...but I found the BW interview not so good...it was not the governor her answers were right on...but unlike the interview with O. there was not that back and forth... I found it to be very chopie(sp) there was no flow...it reminded me of the Katie interview...I felt that it was edited a-lot...But Governor Palin never missed a beat...and bless her heart(I am from the South) the good lady is doing her best not to talk about Levi...
No. we dont want him back!!! Keep him there
I taped the GMA show, didn't want to wake up early. I received an email that my book was shipped out yesterday, so I should get it in a few days.
I found David Letterman's reaction to the memoir hillarious and touching considering the source. Remember he had to be forced to apologize to our Governor for the jokes about the kids so yeah, watching Sarah make David go nuts enough to trash a beautiful Jeep is quite touching.
Laura's a huge disappointment. I think a lot's going on with her--part
Palin Envy, part Beltway psychosis rubbing off, part Sarah not buddying up to
her as she expected. I hope this changes. Sarah's on her show this week.
Let's see.
Hey Sapwolf, weren't you up there in NY 23? I thought I saw that posted. I
was out of town. If this thing is contested and Hoffman needs help, I'm
there.
system.
terri
I m all for it... It has that exactness about It!... we in Texas grew up on Bull Crap!... It's in my blood and I laughed my butt off when Diane Sawyer and Barbara were talking after the interview and shook their collective heads having heard it from Sarah!... that stunned uppityness!
hmmm..what pissed me off about this interview was the last part where sawyer and wawa are discussing that sarah maintains it was not her fault that the ticket lost...that she blames it on the economy and she blames the couric interview mess on "other people..."
they don't like to listen, do they?
Some of us new conservatives are well aware of the gender issues. I came to be a conservative after supporting HRC during the primary, and watching exactly how liberals and the democrat party treated women! Being a volunteer for both HRC and SP last year, I observed how women were regarded and treated by the media, the DNC and RNC, and their local parties.
I can tell you, republicans were the most respectful toward woman and particularly those of us that switched from the HRC camp. Everyone I worked with was pleasant, never demeaning, and always positive.
Which is why they lost. They just don't get the dirty politics played theese days.
Both Diane and Robin Roberts seemed shocked Sarah had so much substance.
I would be a happy camper if I never had to hear the words President Obama again.
Andrea Tantaros and SE Cupp are the best out their now.
Pawlenty allowed Franken to happen and I will never get past that.
Fred Thompson: Sarah was too kind. I'd give him a 3.
I haven't heard it, I just had to put the longhorn there.
Apparently, a lot of people think reading Sarah's book is fun, judging from all the publicity she's getting.
The only thing I wished Sarah had answered differently was Barbara's question on the Newsweek cover. I wished Sarah hadn't said she would not have done the pictures if she knew they would have ended up on the cover of Newsweek.
I wished Sarah had said that those photos were for a profile in Runner's world a magazine that she reads, loves and is proud to be a part of. That she is a runner, she trains to run and won't be embarrassed or belittled because she is proud to have a love of running. However, the fact that this photo is on the cover of "Newsweek" says much more about Newsweek and what they stand for than it does about Sarah Palin.
That would have been a great answer!!
I love it Teri ... I am literally crying from laughing so hard. I like that Sarah said Bull crap rather than B.S. Because we know that Sarah doesn't swear (she mentioned how Schmidt's swearing offended her). So the fact that she says crap is just wonderful to me. (I grew up in Utah, and all us Mormons say heck and crap and darn, too.)
What I'd like to ask these nimwits is when in history has a presidential candidate ever LOST because of the VP pick he chose? Can they name ONE other case of this?
So, despite attracting 60,000 to rallies and $98,000 in one dinner fundraiser, Palin made McCain lose.
This plays into their narrative that conservatives are a tiny minority in the country.
I guess we'll just see, won't we ...
Thanks for providing a better example, Nancy. I know a few guys didn't quite get the "chick fest" going on at Oprah, but women really do respond to that stuff. That's how you get votes, too ;)
TexMex,
I really would like to see these interviews to be directed more towards policy than the "fluff" regarding Levi, the campaign, etc. I am glad that Rush decided to focus more on policy. Barbara Walters did get a dig in when she said that she was taken aback about Sarah saying "bullcrap".
Frum-Frum the Dumm-Dumm
Frum is dumb
Brooks is Broke
Ingrham is a Romney supporter
I thought this was a much better interview than the Oprah one. Walters is much more professional.
I agree read all the way to here to see mention of campaign loss,Sarah produced money, enthusiasm and votes. The elites who can't stand Sarah think she lost votes. They are so stupid.
Anybody watching Hannity? They are talking about how during the WaWa interview the camera man kept zooming in on Gov. Palin to where her face covered the whole screen. That is an old trick. People tend to mistrust people that are super size on the screen. No super sizing WaWa
I am looking forward to seeing this interview on Friday without the editing. I think she probably gave much longer answers to some of these questions, but we are just getting the soundbites...
Good soundbites, but it would be great to get the whole answer.
I agree, lonestar----and BO can take his fave-rave word, "extraordinary," with him.
Sheya, if you are out there did you happen to record the Kudlow panel on Sarah tonight?
LOL!
"backasswards"
"bull crap"
I love it!
nevermind i think i found it on cnbc site
Or an animal: what kind of animal would she be?
SO INANE
I thought the Oprah and Barbara interviews were both pretty good - suited for their respective audiences. The Gov is fun to listen to no matter what the venue. We see the same woman day in and day. And I appreciate that.
As an aside, I sort of wish Robin Roberts would have done the interview. I generally like her and think she and Gov. Palin would have had good chemistry. My two cents. Maybe for book tour Part Deux! :-)
Thanks C4P for keeping up on all the media! Because of this site, I don't have to skip classes this week!
Palin on abc nightline right now with baba wawa
So glad you mentioned that!! I remember thinking that this morning...what the heck is up with that!? I don't wanna see anybody that close up - even if they are as photogenic as Gov. Palin. Need I bring up the close-talker on Seinfeld ca. 1990? Uncomfortable.

larrys final thoughts on Sarah. HE LIKES HER!
what she is saying.is it about Obama or other stuff..I am waiting for another zinger from Sarah..BackASSwords is now officially my new favorite word
AWESOME Larry, I like her too :-)
SARAH... "That Tea Party Movement in Beautiful"
RUN BABY RUN!!!!
Wow did the world just stand still or was it just me? I was completely engrossed.
They just use every trick in the book to bring Sarah down. Seriously, it was like a bunch of adolescents were manning the camera. I was getting motion sickness from their constant zooming in then pulling out. Why didn't they just leave it at the comfortable range? Oh yeah, they're idiots.
Just wondering Lipstick, is TOTUS included in the AF One Crew? I'd hate to leave him out, you know!
Ok so who saw Nightline, I want details, how did it go. What did she talk about?
Media Roundup November 17th 2009
http://www.adoringpalin.com/2009/11/going-rogue-media-roundup-november-17th.html
Lot's of good stuff today.
I swear, if Barbara said Palin complained once..then she said it a million times.
How AWFUL of Schmidt to try and regulate what Sarah was eating. Yes, she did lose a good amount of weight during the campaign, but like she said - a lot of it had to do with baby weight, and the fact that she quit nursing Trig.
Did anyone notice that Sarah's voice was deeper/more base on this interview. Perhaps her voice is simply hoarse from all of the talking. However, I really liked it. O'Reilly is smitten. He was very pro Sarah on his show tonight and he did the interview with her today.
Sorry, that was what I was refering to.
She did just fine. She got a lot more snippy with Barbara during this segment, but not in a bad way...just staying on the offensive.
And not sure if y'all have figured this out by now...but the girl DOES NOT LIKE STEVE SCHMIDT! :) Wow, someone get me a body language expert.
I saw it and they had the camera right up in her face but those eyes were telling the story. You can see her soul there. Most of the questions aired earlier but these were not cut as short. They may think they are doing her a disservice by close cameras but her eyes just say it all.
I saw nightline. nothing exciting, some of it was repeat from this morning.
I agree.
LOL!!! That was funny.
Sarah never ceases to amaze me and my goodness is she fearless...that comes from true conviction...
She does not have to say it. Just be one!
O/T - but looks like Israel is giving the big F.U. finger to the Obama administration.
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1258027313763&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
Another friend and ally this administration has pissed off and thrown under the bus.
How long does Hillary remain as Sec of State? If she were to resign, would that signal that she is going to run against him in 2012?
Have you heard about the new Obama Meal Deal at McDonalds?
Order anything you want....and your kids pay for it.
Frankly I was surprised to hear Sarah speak of just how much actual time (9 hours of tape?) she spent with the Perky One. Had it been live I think it would have gone much better especially just one sitting. Lord knows she annoys the bullcr*p outta me.
Hilarious!
But I hope he keeps it up so I can sell my book:)
LOL I guess Obama believes in spreading the big macs around LOL
We need a LOVE IT button:)
Lipstick
Your killing me.... Im LOL!... there's something about talking about Bull Crap that just gets us going and we can't stop... Im laughing so hard I woke my bestbud up... he's now barking!
Nande,
Robin Roberts might have been good.
She was a reporter for ESPN years ago, they would have had the love of sports in common.
When is the BOR interview?
Barbara, Governor Palin is not complaining.
Idiot.
And the unfocused picture at the beginning over Charles Gibson's shoulder was so childish.
Idiots.
Really liking tonight's Hannity. Glad that Dana Perino's come around! I remember when Sarah first resigned, she had some harsh words. I wrote her off, but she's right in there now. Always liked her. Stewart Barney too. I value his opinions.
As to Luntz, I'd take his advice about how to set up an interview, i.e. how to make sure they don't set you up to look bad. Other than that, leave her the hell alone! It's like teaching Secreteriat how to run. She doesn't need to worry about choosing the perfect word. Her shooting back an answer straight from the hip is part of her appeal. The rest can't be taught or learned. It's just a gift. Kind of intangible. Love his idea about inviting Kitty to interview her in front of one of HER crowds in Indiana, Texas, Ohio, etc though!
Noticed the close in shot on the Babs interview (lol). It kind of backfired I think. She just looked lovely anyway. It WAS meant to hurt though...now if you used that shot with Obama, it would be a scare the kids, keep the dog from howling moment. Half the screen would be ears!
Sarah's flattening them!
different generation
Nancy, they are adolescents in the fringe media. That was so unprofessional. And the constant zoom in on her face. My gosh. Do they think their viewers won't notice the treatment they're giving her? They would NEVER do that to Obama or any liberal.
Barbara Walters is an idiot. She tries so hard to please the leftist idiots. Barbara Walters is the LAST one to talk about people "Whining" My Mom reminded me when Barbara first started out, on SNL, Gilda Radler made SO much fun of Barbara Walters and she hated it..she complained everyday about it..so Barbara is the last one to talk about someone complaining. Babs should shut her fat mouth and remember the eway it was like when she was younger
If they zoomed in on Obama's face like they did with Sarah, the sight of Obama's facial mole that close would cause lingering nightmares.
wed, thurs, and friday i think. at the very top of the page on the left there is a link to the c4p calendar outlining times and interviews...
this is currently my facebook status ;)
Im just pissed that fox is ignoring the fact that she has 51% favorable rating in the rassmussn poll, and only bringing up the 23% F /38% UF /37% N CBS poll
Bullcrap and You Lie .... are my phrases of the year!
amazon.com raised the price of her book back up to 14.50..its a good thing i ordered mine a few weeks ago, got a great deal..I cant wait to read this book
I wish they would bring up rasmussen too..Sarah has higher approval ratings then Obama..no wonder Obama is all wee weed up

I actually like the close up shot. I have never really gotten a close look at the color of her eyes. You can really see her eyes in the close up. They are kind of hazel, very beautiful!
Dana Perino was great on Greta yesterday.
You have earned your stripes today Sheya :)
Thursday, Friday, and Monday
Regarding an earlier post about the extreme Close-up issue as addressed on Hannity...Yup I noticed that little camera trick too.. but Sarah waded right throught that "Backassward Bull Crap!" God Love her!

I like the tone of her voice in the interview, more serious tone but the words were just awesome! i love the guv.I think this interview is better than Oprah, i hope the whole interview is this great or better.
where's the entire oprah interview? thank u

AKReport, I don't mind the media using the low CBS and Gallup numbers now - it will only make things look even better when the next polls come in.
As for Sarah, my only _slight_ criticism is that she needs to be careful with her responses lest she come across too scripted. I've hear 'reloading not resigning' several times now.
OT levi's playgirl pics leaked

Because most of your day occurs while I am sleeping I always wake up looking forward to the latest Sarah Palin news on C4P. I didn't get to check in until late morning today - it was like a Sarah Palin festival. It' great! Thank you!!
Diane Sawyer must be a committed Obot. Her questions to Walters about Palin were really slanted to elicit a negative response.

Backassward - never heard that before! Love it.
I also really liked what Crowley said on O'Reilly today about Sarah Palin being a stake through the heart of liberalism.
buenos dias kids. I see nicole wallace crawled out from under her rock yesterday. surprise! surprise! rachel madcow read a statement which basically said Sarah lied about everything. Her is link to the segment if you can stomach it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jreaZrrsNe4 Heres a link to a brief transcript.
Here's to hopefully seeing at least 20,000 at Sarah's book signing tonite:)
Oh wait here's the link to a transcript. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34005388/ns/msnbc_tv-rachel_maddow_show
Allah calls it "comedy gold".
I so agree with you TexMex. I am not a fan of Hillary's politics but I respect her accomplishments and keen intellect and I thought the way she was treated during the primaries both by the media and the Obama campaign was absolutely deplorable. I don't think that in wanting to see a woman -- preferably a conservative woman -- become president that it means we subscribe to gender politics. That is the liberal's game to play. For me it is not about evening some score or whatever but rather feeling pride in seeing a woman for the first time achieve something no other has been able to before.
I enjoyed both interviews, Oprah and Barbara. I thought Gov. Palin was lively, articulate and engaging and I feel like they both connected with her. Barbara spoke about meeting with Sarah on "The View" yesterday and it was clear from the way she spoke of her that, even though I doubt she'd ever vote for her, she came away from the meeting with a newfound respect. The women even talked about that obnoxious Newsweak cover and except for the always radically partisan Joyless Behar, every one of them thought it disrespectful and inappropriate. I thought that was pretty impressive for that group; usually it's only Elisabeth taking the governor's side.
I'm really looking forward to the 20/20 interview on Friday. This week long Cudapalooza in the media is awesome. It's like finally getting a tall drink of water after a long, hot walk through the desert! We've been deprived of her for so long outside of her Facebook posts that all of these interviews are like an embarrassment of riches! Thanks, HarperCollins! ;o)
I mentioned this upthread. They did discuss it on "The View" during hot topics and all but Joy considered it inappropriate and said so. My jaw was on the floor, but it was nice to see.
I agree with this. She can be too repetitive and roll out the canned-sounding political rhetoric before getting to the meat of her answer. She does this with the "why did you resign?" question. She needs to work on it, and I hope she will, because I'm really rooting for her!
Got that right!!!
I think Ingram is carrying a political Torch for Rommney.
Yes, and when Palin went a little salty witht eh expression "bc" they both went like wooaah she's not as peitistic as we think! This coming from WAWA who bragged about bagging a senator and having a Hollywood Hunk giving her a lapdance on T.V.!!
This is an extremely weak defense. Only gives credibility to "Going Rogue".
