Is Rogue coming out in the UK? Dec. 20?

Bean Counter,  November 30, 2009 8:46 AM

Back from spending Thanksgiving with some of my kinfolks. The 7 hr. drive home flew by having Sarah read "Going Rogue" for my amusement. If you don't have the audio version, it's just a must have, even though it's abridged.

Love all the reports from the book signings, looks like some kind of tsunami is building across the fruited plain. Grab a raft and ride it or be destroyed when it hits.

I'm particularly intrigued by this police shooting in Washington state. Not to take anything from the horrible tragedy that this is, and my prayers are with the officers' families, but this connection to Huckabee pardoning this guy is, in my opinion, a huge revelation, and one that should torpedo any future presidential aspirations he has.

Jamika,  November 30, 2009 8:49 AM

Hmm, not bad considering it was the BBC. Though that radical leftist old woman with the fake black hair was a bit annoying and rather typical of those with an irrational dislike of Sarah Palin. Still, all in all it was a decent-enough segment.

That could mean an eventual total of more than 500,000 centrifuges, or enough to enrich about 160 bombs worth of uranium each year."</span></p>

techno,  November 30, 2009 8:53 AM

For those of you who have been incommunicado or out of the loop to the Thanksgiving season here is a summary of what has gone in the past few days as related to Sarah Palin, GOP politics, or Obama:

1) Sarah posted a Facebook last night using a letter by a 95 year vet (Mr. Estes) to bring home her point that Obama is weak and that he is not acting according standards set by previous presidents in terms of defending the USA and its interests. In invoking this letter this was one of the strongest attacks ever levelled by Sarah against the Messiah. The letter should be read by every ordinary barbarian.

2) Chris Matthews compared Obama to the appeaser Neville Chamberlain and wished the Anointed One would be more like Churchill. Are we seeing some cracks in the Obama facade. In addition Peggy Noonan in the WSJ journal cited the recent Elizabeth Drew and Les Gelb articles as evidence that the liberal elites may be souring on Obama.

3) The shooting of 4 police officers in Washington state by Maurice Clemmons, who happened to released from prison through clemency by Mike Huckabee when he was the governor of Arkansas. Expect this to be a hot topic today and perhaps for the rest of the week. If you folks are not aware the PPP poll has reported that Huckabee has been the frontrunner in 8 straight monthly polls and therefore has touted him as the frontrunner in the GOP presidential sweepstakes. In addition Rasmussen recently reported that Huck's F/UF are 58/30 and an recent Iowa poll reported that Huck was leading the Iowa caucuses in 2012 with a 70% F among Republicans.

4) It has been reported that the two gatecrashers had met Obama previously and have a joint acquaintance-Rashid Khalidi.

5) A group has set up a web site promoting Dick Cheney for POTUS in 2012; in a poll at youpolls in a head to head matchup between Palin and Cheney Palin won 75% of the vote.

6) The CATO institute prices Obamacare at $6 trillion dollars. And Howard Dean has come out against Obamacare because of the cost involved.

7) Black Friday (post-Thankgivingshopping) by all accounts did not go well.

8) The emerging 'climate change' debunking because of releaed e-mails is gaining 'legs'.

9) A Washington Post poll (separate thread at C4P) reveals Sarah Palin #1 in the hearts and minds of those thinking about the GOP 2012 primaries and caucuses among those who 'lean Republican' (party members and independents) and that 45% of Rush Limbaugh listeners and 1/3 of Beck's watchers and listeners would vote for Sarah.

10) And how can we forget that FED predicts an unemployment rate of 7.5% in 2012 and continuing high unemployment through to then.

<span>FROM SARAH'S FACEBOOK: HAROLD B ESTES COMPLETE LETTER </span>
<span>http://www.congress.org/congressorg/bio/userletter/?id=10892&letter_id=4287614061

President Barack Obama
November 20, 2009

Dear President Obama,
My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.
One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.
So here goes.
I AM AMAZED,ANGRY AND DETERMINED NOT TO SEE MY COUNTRY DIE BEFORE I DO BUT YOU SEEM HELL-BENT NOT TO GRANT ME THAT WISH.
I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT COUNTRY YOU ARE PRESIDENT OF. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world,"America is mean-spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)
I'D SAY SHAME ON THE BOTH OF YOU BUT I DON'T THINK YOU LIKE AMERICA NOR DO I SEE AN OUNCE OF GRATEFULNESS IN ANYTHING YOU DO FOR THE OBVIOUS GIFTS THIS COUNTRY HAS GIVEN YOU. TO BE WITHOUT SHAME OR GRATEFULNESS IS A DANGEROUS THING FOR A MAN SITTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."
Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British ? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War ? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around because we stand for freedom.
I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.
Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man. SHAPE UP AND START ACTING LIKE AN AMERICAN.If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue .YOU WERE ELECTED TO LEAD NOT TO BOW,APOLOGIZE AND KISS THE HANDS OF MURDERERS AND CORRUPT LEADERS who still treat their people like slaves.
And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts who was putting up a fight ? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.
One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life but YOU'RE THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF NOW,SON.DO YOUR JOB. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But IF YOU'RE NOT IN THIS FIGHT TO WIN,THEN GET OUT. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.
You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever [...]

CharterOakie,  November 30, 2009 9:01 AM

Glad to hear from you, Bean.  Missed you (even though I myself have often been MIA in recent days).  "Grab a raft and ride it...."  Love it!

7) He will use the phrase "not rush in."
8) He will pay lip service to the "sacrifice" of the troops.
9) He will use the phrases "my strategy" and "my intention."

techno,  November 30, 2009 9:05 AM

What makes Sarah brilliant in terms of tieing herself to this letter is that if she had comes out on her own and made these comments there would no end to bashing her for 'not standing up for the office of the presidency' and being petty, partisan, and vindictive. The liberal elites would have taken every opportunity to have impugned her motives and to diminish her 'presidential timber'. By ascribing Mr. Estes thoughts on her Facebook to her own cogent comments Sarah has transcended normal criticism and commentary and brought home to seniors why from a political point of view that they must support her efforts to defy Obama and be his number one nemesis while having the cover of not having written the letter or probably knowing Mr. Estes.

Nearly 2,300 fans in Tri-Cities line up for Sarah Palin's book-signing

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2010379768_webpalin29m.html

RICHLAND — This is Sarah Palin country, proudly conservative, and some 2,300 of the faithful lined up outside the Hastings bookstore here for her book-signing this afternoon.
And even when up to 300 or so of them at the tail end of the line that snaked around the block were told that the former Alaska governor wasn't going to be able to sign their copies of "Going Rogue," most didn't mind.
Everybody in line called her "Sarah," just a regular American like themselves, they said.
"She stands for everything that America was built on," said Stacey Coordes, 39, in line with her husband, Brian Coordes, 45, a Pasco farmer. "I hope she's our next Reagan."

Coda,  November 30, 2009 9:15 AM

This started to peculate last nite about pardons and clemencies. Some were wondering if Gov. Palin had a similar ticking time bomb. I did a goggle search and I found NOTHING on this front at all.

I do run across this link from HA.
House Bill 69 now makes it mandatory for the governor and the Board of Parole to work together to ensure any decision on clemency is based on a thorough review of the case, and made in deference to victims and their families.
“In a perfect world, this bill wouldn’t be necessary,” said Governor Palin. “Unfortunately, we all know why such legislation has come through with unanimous support and why I sign this bill without hesitation.”
In his final hours in office, Governor Murkowski granted an executive pardon to a company convicted of criminally negligent homicide. Whitewater Engineering Corporation pleaded no contest in 2001 to the charge in connection with the 1999 death of one of its employees. The pardon was granted on November 30, 2006. No one from the Murkowski administration notified the victim’s family of the request for clemency or that the pardon was granted.
HB 69 not only ensures that victims of crimes are notified of the governor’s intent to grant clemency but also allows them to become part of the process.

Re: 5) Cheney, etc.  The anti-Palin GOP elites and their media hacks pretty soon will be so desperate that they'll try to exhume Teddy Roosevelt or someone and set him forth as their preferred nominee.  We just need to continue to "smack 'em upside the head" and pointedly remind them:

MarkRNY,  November 30, 2009 9:33 AM

I don't think Huck could have ever been anything but a spoiler. He could have taken just enough Evangelical votes to help the Machine candidate. That threat's gone now, and unless someone comes out of the woodwork, who can take on Sarah?

Health care's finished Romney, Huck's gone, Newt's badly damaged goods, who's left?? T'Paw?! Sarah hurt him <span>badly</span> when she stepped down. He's doing exactly what she said she wouldn't do, i.e. collecting a check while running for president. What's now perceived as her biggest weakness is going to become a big asset against him. She Jujitsued the hell out of him (the Arctic Fox). That and the way he let Franken steal the election without a word. Not to mention, look at the guy! (then look at her). Laura's having him on next. Why isn't he governing MN?!

It's Depends time all over the place now I think.

wisetrog,  November 30, 2009 9:38 AM

Don't underestimate Mitt n Huck. That said its funny to watch GOP scramble to find an acceptable establishment candidate who could run against her. Like Cheney ever had any chance. It was pathetic but funny.

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 9:43 AM

Perhaps Huck knew this was coming yesterday when he decided to backpeddle on FoxNews Sunday with Chris Wallace when asked about his political future.

The Chickens are coming home to roost for Huckster.  He had no real defense.  But of course he twisted it on the interview and stated that he isn't sure the GOP establishment "would get behind him."  He is such a passive aggressive slick politician.

Who cares about the GOP establishment.  When you have the Conservative base turning on you it really doesn't matter now does it.  I can't wait until Rush today.  He won't hold back.

Exit stage left Huck.

This puts Governor Palin in a very good position.

I was unable to post earlier, because I was locked out, but a plan is coming together, everything seems to be falling into place. Huckabee was a weak reed likely to fall, Sanford was as well, Pawlenty doesn't excite, but he hasn't been harsh against her. A spirited debate

gelston the knowitall,  November 30, 2009 10:19 AM

I think this will not cause Gov Huckabee problems in the long run only because the memory of the American electorate is so short.
The Bushes and Mr. Clinton have or will have a rise in their popularity as the years go by and people forget the bad news.

wisetrog,  November 30, 2009 10:22 AM

Perhaps its needed for ehr to be the frontrunner this early. let people get used to the idea I guess.

I am on page 312 of Going Rogue, should finish it tonight.  I won't reveal any big secrets, but I crack up everytime the Governor uses the word "Headquarters."  She is so damn funny.

It is a good thing that "Headquarters" didn't know squat about her.

Only question left is this.  Will the Nutritionist be called to the White House after Governor Palin's response on Facebook to his Afghanistan strateegery speech, or wait until Thursday night after the Job Summit?

MarkRNY,  November 30, 2009 10:27 AM

Thing is that she and she alone, has a stick to beat any potential rival over the head with. Health care with Mitten (Death Panels), sitting Governor collecting a paycheck while running for POTUS--Pawlenty (truly brilliant), NY 23 with Newt AND T'Paw who meme'd her very obviously AND Romney who did nothing. She has something on all of them and what they thought they had on her looks increasingly lame.

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 10:28 AM

You know you have got problems when Radio Talk Show hosts have to try and pump up your candidacy.  T-Paw just doesn't have IT.

techno,  November 30, 2009 10:30 AM

There are two viewpoints: one is that it is better to trail and then like a marathon of a long-distance race kick into a higher gear as you get closer to the finish line or to be the frontrunner who extends his lead and dispirits her competition that they finally give up or at least don't approach their task with the same type of enthusiasm or are not able to attract the resources or money because of lagging behind.

Personally, I think it is more important that Sarah be perceived as the frontrunner to establish her LEGITIMACY, especially among the skeptics and fence-sitters who think that the 'quitting meme' will derail her; once they see it won't I think many of them will gradually filter over to her 'tent'. And remember Sarah is already used to being the center of attention: she already has a bulls-eye on her forehead and has for the past 15 months; to Sarah it will be no big deal.

Bill in Baltimore,  November 30, 2009 10:30 AM

It will be interesting to hear what he says tonight and also if he addresses the Corps.

Usually, special guests will address the Corps from the "poop" deck in the Mess Hall. ("poop" = "info")
-  that is, if the guests have time . . .

You know, kind of like when MacArthur adressed the Corps in his farewell speech: "Duty, Honor, Country"
- well, probably not like THAT . . .

Bill in Baltimore,  November 30, 2009 10:31 AM

They don't want us to see Sarah, 'unshakled'

techno,  November 30, 2009 10:34 AM

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 10:39 AM

You can hope Obama uses those words, but the exit strategy will be front and center for his left wing base.

He really is stuck to be honest.  If he doesn't say win and victory tomorrow night, Governor Palin will come with both barrels.  If he highlights an exit strategy, Governor Palin will come with both barrels.

After tomorrow night, he will wish he was still on his boondoggle bowing down to the Emperor of Japan.

TexMex,  November 30, 2009 10:40 AM

Agreed. What I appreciated about the American woman on the panel is that although she said she wasn't a Palin supporter she honestly evaluated Palin and pretty much said don't underestimate her. David Aaronaovich seems smitten with Palin and loves her can do attitude. More importantly he was floored that Palin isn't a hypocrite and she actually lives the life she promotes. I think the entire panel, save the American obviously, still doesn't understand us. Haha, I mean my god did you hear banjo music in the intro? WTF?! It IS the BBC after all.

Whitney,  November 30, 2009 10:45 AM

While the clemency issue doesn't bode well for Huckabee, you are right to mention, Gelston, that the American people have a short memory, sometimes. This is still something that other potential candidates could use as ammunition against Huckabee, if he runs.

Regarding Sarah and Aw Schucksabee, if both run, their fight for the evangelical vote is largely over, in my humble opinion. I have a feeling that the pretty much flat out endorsement by Billy Graham will speak volumes for Sarah.

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 10:46 AM

I agree with you that the memory of the American electorate is short.

Having said that, any shrewd politician would never let Huck forget that decision and it will be played out for the country over and over to keep him on the defense.

TexMex,  November 30, 2009 10:46 AM

This is why politicians should never piss off the elderly. One, they always show up on election day unlike my fellow hipsters who may or may not get out of bed that morning. Why does he always need a photo op? The Greek columns, Brandenburg gate, joint session of Congress, now West Point. You're right, Bill. He always wants to do something "unprecented" instead of just doing the right thing. The man must be really insecure. It's like he needs everything to be grandious to compensate for something lacking in his core.

I'm just curious, but when Bill, Hillary or Barack had their book tours did the Seattle Times and other outlets describe the crowds as "proudly liberal" ... ? I doubt it.

That's the thing that's so revolutionary about Sarah. She exposes the leftwing bias of the press. The press refer to conservatives as if they're from another planet, while liberals are the "default" option, and the "objective" option. Hence, when reporting on liberal crowds they are just "crowds," but conservative crowds must be categorized.

It's like when Tom Brokaw not long ago revealed: "I have Republican friends."

Republicans, in the media's mind, are "the other."

Kjanlady,  November 30, 2009 11:38 AM

This Christmas I will really miss First Lady Laura Bush.  Laura Bush is a definitive role model for what a First Lady should be....she is a true lady.  The America hating pretender currently in the White House can never aspire to measure up.  I used to go to the White House Christmas Web site and really enjoyed getting a tour of the White House Christmas decorations escorted by Mrs. Bush.  She was warm and unpretentious.  Perhaps the best part of the Christmas tour were the antics of Barney and Mrs. Beasley....they stole the show.

Will I watch the Oprah show...No I will not.  This is not the inviting presentation that I so enjoyed with Mrs. Bush...this will be the it's all about the Obama's show.  Narcissism on parade.  We the people own the White House and everything in it and should be able to see the decorations without being forced to listen to the Obama's.  Another disappointment to be endured for the time being.

I will miss Laura Bush....but I will look forward to returning to my annual Christmas tradition of seeing the White House Christmas decorations in 2013 when the new White House resident, President Sarah Palin, restores the tradition of graciously inviting Americans into the White House to view the decorations.  I can hardly wait.

Merry Christmas Mrs. Bush.  Thanks for the memories.

Recovering Democrat,  November 30, 2009 11:38 AM

I read it. My take is that this guy was a pompous academic asshat. Nobody reads a memoir in the manner that he did (at least not normal people). He offered some praise for the governor, and seemed genuine, but he basically thought the book was awful and a missed opportunity. My biggest problem with his critique was that he wasn't comparing it to anything in the REAL world, like, say other political memoirs.

He lumped praise on Obama's Dreams from my Father, because apparently it showed the depth of Obama's ideas (which he disagreed with). Apparently, this guy didn't know that Bill Ayers wrote much if not all of that memoir.

The review, in my opinion, epitomizes much of the criticism leveled at Gov. Palin. She is held to an impossibly high standard that is never applied to mere mortals or her political peers. Her accomplishments are diminished and her flaws accentuated.

At the end of the day, let's compare Palin to other politicians, not other authors.

<span>Regarding the Washington state shooting of the four officers; just another reason to have Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) permits in every state. Four armed cops, probably all carrying Glock .40 Cal pistols, which is pretty much standard issue these days, had no chance against this guy. If there happened to be a Patriot in the cafe that was carrying, the scumbag may have been brought down. Washington does allow CCW to the best of my knowledge. My point? If the police can't defend themselves, how in the world can they defend or "protect" us? Our protection is up to us as an individual right. Remember the police are under NO legal obligation to "protect" the citizenry. Sarah is an A+, lifetime member of the NRA and carries a weapon herself. She understands the 2nd Amendment as I asked her to uphold the 2nd Amendment while speaking with her at the Fort Wayne, IN book signing. She told me, "don't worry about that, I WILL." Huckabee is toast. Barring any unforeseen circumstances; Sarah will be the next President of the United States.</span>

From the comments section in Politico (Huckabee on Clemmons thread)
Is this true? Are these policies truly on effect, and are they due to Obama's direction?
I find them extremely disconcerting, this is a sure way to loose a war:

"Obama is putting our troops in impossible position. New rules of engagement don't allow close air support if fire at troops is coming from buildings. Obama also won't allow pirates who are caught with weapons but not in the act to be arrested. 340 pirates have been released by u.s forces because of Obama's rules of engagement. Obama also won't allow helicopters to open fire against pirates in the act. Obama is also not allowing the military to act against al queda in somalia. Obama is also not allowing the military to act against al queda in 12 nations that bush authorized like in yemen. Obama is also not allowing the military to take out the pirates camps in somalia and their infastructure that the military wants to take out. Obama has also let out very hard core prisoners from gitmo back to yemen where they have been released and then gone on to suicide bombings. Obama is also giving al queda prisoners in afghanistan american civilian rights where they can be released easily for a technicality. Obama is now bringing gitmo prisoners to the u.s where the supreme court could reverse a 5-4 decision and no longer allow the pres to hold prisoners. So if the gitmo prisoners are released on a technicality obama's liberal justices will allow them to go free especially with obama having possibly 6 supreme court picks. Also intelligence to these gitmo prisoners being tried here will be compromised. These gitmo prisoners should be tried in military tribunals where intelligence isn't compromised. Instead only some are tried in military tribunals so obama can have his big trials to please europeans.

Ha! I used to adore the New Yorker. I thought the article was decent, but it amuses me: When faced with the prospect of President Palin, liberals are slobbering all over Reagan, calling him an intellectual giant compared to Palin. It's so amusing because back in the day they called him every version of stupid imaginable. Not that he's long gone, he's suddenly a Rhodes scholar.

You know Sarah's got them running scared, when they have to resort to revisionist history to compare her unfavorably to her idol.

Palin is smart, and so was Reagan. But smart conservatives for liberals are the conservatives who are no threat to them anymore.

Folks, get this. From author Joe McGinniss of a new Palin scandal: "Palin tour involves some air travel."

Joe is really ticked off that Palin does travel by air from time to time and sleeps in hotel rooms while being engaged in the tour and riding the bus.

It's nice to hear the American woman, who isn't a Sarah fan, say that Sarah is a conservative, not a right-winger. It's a pretty decent panel, everyone seemed pretty fair to Sarah, except the woman with the black hair who sounded very out of touch.

Sarah should do a book tour in London. I think she was invited to speak at some event last year by the Conservative Party in the UK. Of course she couldn't go then, but I hope the invitation still stands.

Cameo appearance teaches kids dangers of rumors and gossip, indicts media

While the former Governor and Vice Presidential candidate has achieved success with record book sales and support for a 2012 presidential election bid, she has also achieved something else few public figures ever have:  heroine status in a children’s book.

In a cameo appearance, “Governor Sarah,” a Palin lookalike character, attempts to help two boys with a struggling swingset business hang onto the American Dream despite high taxes, burdensome regulations and 246 czars in the recently released children’s book Help! Mom! Radicals Are Ruining My Country!, by bestselling- author Katharine DeBrecht.
“I am trying to let all Americans know that these radicals are killing the American Dream and I want to stop them from hurting people that produce products and provide jobs,” the Palin character consoles the frustrated boys. The book then describes an all-out media assault on the Palin figure based on false rumors which discourages the boys:

Unfortunately later that night, while the boys were still ruffling through their bills, they saw a special report on TV. The TV anchorwoman beamed “We have breaking news just in from a 37 year old man who lives in his parents’ basement that Governor Sarah’s mother is actually an alien.”

The anchorwoman excitedly went on, “And from this exclusive source, we can confirm that Governor Sarah feeds her children dog food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

Disheartened, the boys contemplate the ramifications of the assault on Governor Sarah, wondering if children have been given a green light to spread untrue gossip and whether such actions would discourage other children from public service.
“I was always taught not to spread mean rumors about people,” Lou looked at Tommy.

“I know,” Tommy frowned at this brother. “She seems like a nice lady. I wonder if any of the kids at school are now going to think it is okay to spread untrue gossip about people.”

“Yeah,” Lou agreed. “I feel bad for Susie Sattely who is running for student council. She is a really nice girl. I wonder who is going to make up something about her.”
DeBrecht said it was imperative to include the Palin-like character in the book in order to teach a valuable lesson to kids. “In this internet age, we need to let our kids know that it is wrong to spread rumors and lies. Unfortunately, many so-called journalists have basically told children that this is permissible as long as you disagree with someone’s opinions.”
In regards to future political servants, DeBrecht goes on, “Our kids deserve better than the shameful example that has been set before them. What message does this send to little girls who may want to enter the political arena? Don’t you dare lest you be Palinized?”

The special edition book is available for pre-order exclusively at <span>www.radicalsruiningmycountry.com</span> and published by iTouch Publishers.

Totally agree!

Governor Palin is tough, shrewd, and ruthless and will do whatever is necessary to take out the competition.

This not only includes her direct GOP competition, but also the POTUS and First Lady.  Anyone who has read her book knows that she is cut throat, but she is so skilled that she can cover it with humor and sarcasm.

PEC,  November 30, 2009 3:06 PM

What is there to debunk?  This is a private tour.  She can stay in 5 Star hotels, private jets, limos etc.  This is between her publisher and her not any tax payers anywhere.  What a nonissue.  Why don't they track how much Obama is costing taxpayers of flying the most expensive private jet in the world to go to West Point to do what he could do for free in the WH.  If Harper Collins is happy and Sarh is happy who else matters?

http://texas4palin.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-lefty-outrage-gasp-sarah-palin.html

McGinness (sp) is just trying to do his best Tattoo imitation from Fantasy Island.

Da plane, da plane!

narciso,  November 30, 2009 3:12 PM

I figure the publisher is footing the bill, as part of the promotion, we've seen her show up in Roanoke, and say she was going to the hotel, we saw her arrive by plane,

Recovering Democrat,  November 30, 2009 3:14 PM

Well, let's not forget Obama in that list.
- Olympic bid - epic fail
- Climate change - epic fail
- Bowing to emperors and shieks - weak
- Bill Ayers writing his memoir - loser

I think when Sarah gets done with The Annointed One, he'll be The Rejected One.

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 3:16 PM

Actually, I think this calls for a classic Governor Palin smackdown on Facebook.

The Governor could weave in her sarcasm with the liberal media questioning her own travel arrangements for her book tour and tie in this bogus Climate-gate - the REAL STORY that the media should be focusing their attention to these days.

Keep making the liberal heads spin.

PEC,  November 30, 2009 3:22 PM

Folks this left stupid some time ago.  I don't know who is paying but I know who isn't paying and that is the taxpayers, though she has done more for stimulus than Obama's 800 billion with this tour so maybe the Federal Government should pick up the tab.  Come to think of it that is a thought.  The Federal Government should give a bunch of money for Sarah to go around the country.  Think of all the part time security and planning positions that have to be used (just kidding but true).

juju,  November 30, 2009 3:29 PM

Dunn on Huffington Post has jumped on this now.  How petty can they get.

Sheya,  November 30, 2009 3:31 PM

There is nothing to debunk, this is ridicules from the set go. These people build up “notions” in their heads then criticize the Governor when it doesn’t work out that way.

Josh Painter did a good job of it.

Recovering Democrat,  November 30, 2009 3:32 PM

They think she should sleep on the bus ... or, in the case of Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace, they want her "under the bus."

Whitney,  November 30, 2009 3:37 PM

Actually the whole plane vs. bus thing is really funny. They are really grasping at straws. Just because she says she is "hitting the road" for her book tour means (to them) that she MUST only use land-based transportation.

A short line in Tempe, as of 1:15 pm. Probably will grow after the work day.

The big surprise was seeing John McCain in the line. At least it looks like John McCain.

A Rogue Media camera is there. Will try to get some images to you.

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:43 PM

Agreed.

Hannity backed Christie in the NJ primary by letting him on his show but not letting the Reaganite Lonegan.

Sean is GOP first, conservative sometimes.  He's an insider.

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:44 PM

He's a mealy-mouthed coward who let Al Franken steal the Senate election.

Pawlenty is so cowardly.  Nice guy, but not a conservative and just too weak.

I could drop with one punch.

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:45 PM

He apparently was hit in the abdomen and is wounded.

gelston the knowitall,  November 30, 2009 3:52 PM

THANKS FOR GOING, HEFMIER

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:53 PM

With Newhouse's death that site has already begun being irrelevant.  The forces that have destroyed the soul of Notre Dame on working on it too.

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:54 PM

EXACTLY.

The fact that Sully links it means it is worthless.

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 3:55 PM

Eggheads.  I'll bet almost half the male writers on the staff are gay.  You'd be amazed how many Sully's are out there.  It happens a lot when they go to university and get 'educated'.

A,  November 30, 2009 3:58 PM

Rumor has it that she is making the WA to Tempe leg on her Arctic Cat, with Piper riding shotgun.

Recovering Democrat,  November 30, 2009 3:58 PM

WhOOOO HOOO !!!!

So, now, not only am I lined up to see Sarah this week at the College of the Ozarks, but I just got a call back from the Salina Kansas Chamber of Commerce letting me know that I could  purchase a ticket for Sarah's speech in February. (Salina is about one hour north of where we live).

The lady I talked to said that demand for the Salina event was "insane." She said that when they had the news conference announcing the speech earlier this month that the press conference ended at 2:22 and by 2:30 they were pretty much sold out of the dinner passes.

I called immediately and put my name on a list for the general admission balcony seats, and got the call back today.

It's like Christmas!

Sapwolf,  November 30, 2009 4:00 PM

Probably.  Understandable until more facts come out.

Nancy,  November 30, 2009 4:00 PM

Hey Bean,
You will be in my prayers! Keep us updated!:)

riley4palin,  November 30, 2009 4:06 PM

Where o' where are the liberals when Governor Palin really needs their help to debunk this NON Travelgate story?

*  Could John F. Kerry send her a Heinz Private Plane to use at her leisure?  Or perhaps teach the Governor how to Wind Surf across dry land through middle America?
*  Could Caroline Kennedy let Governor Palin borrow one of their limos?
*  Could First Lady Michelle Obama let Governor Palin borrow one of her pair of $500 tennis shoes to walk across the country?
*  Could Nancy Pelosi re-direct her Taxpayer funded private plane to the Midwest so that Governor Palin can hitch a ride?
*  Could Ashley Judd or any of her Hollywood friends let the Governor borrow one of their private planes?

Liberals.  Fake as Nancy Pelosi's cheekbones and botoxed lips.

What an extraordinary eulogy..... for four extraordinary peace officers.....

Bill in Baltimore,  November 30, 2009 4:42 PM

short line ? but the book signing isn't until Tues at 11 am ?

Bill in Baltimore,  November 30, 2009 4:43 PM

RD, do you have a link for the Salina CoC (for the future CiC) ?

Kjanlady,  November 30, 2009 5:24 PM

Do you think that Sarah's book tour is winning any hearts and minds?

NUMBERS THAT COUNT

If you start on November 17th, the day that Sarah posted a thank you because her facebook followers numbered greater than 1,000,000 and look at today's number which is slightly more than 1,075,000, that would mean that Sarah has gained >5,770 followers per day for the past 13 days.  I have a feeling that these are not merely followers but people who may well be counted on to support, campaign for and vote for Sarah.

I think that this book tour just might be extended for a few months into 2010 and who knows, that second book....the platform, policy, position laden book just might be in the works.  We all know how Sarah is a dedicated multitasker.  We all know that she travels with both LOTUS and BOTUS.

Wonder if the Facebook address on that big blue bus has any impact?

Viva la barracuda!

Hefmier,  November 30, 2009 5:38 PM

Here are my photos from the Richland, WA book signing.  Enjoy!!  http://www.flickr.com/photos/45135053@N03/.

techno,  November 30, 2009 5:41 PM

By the way has anyone noticed with the focus on Gatecrashergate, Tiger Woods, and Mike Huckabee's questionable judgment that Sarah has been relatively free from criticism while she goes about her business signing books and savoring the great results of the Washington Post poll released last night.

Just-Sayin,  November 30, 2009 6:18 PM

You can watch the whole thing here:

Yeah. Self righteous bloviators fixated on what they call the 'historical Jesus'.
You know the type. Self described Christians who don't really believe what you must believe to be a Christian.
