Obsessive Blogger Still Obsessed
First thing after reading a less than 'Meh' review of Sarah Palin's book*, Andrew Sullivan's thoughts naturally turn to what really matters. Is Trig really Sarah's baby?
He was threatened with his job if he kept asking specifically about Trig. But that doesn't keep him from asking about Trig from a round about angle. Like 'asking questions' about hospital records.
I've emailed [Adam Bellow at Harper Collins] asking him about the fact-checking process for "Going Rogue." Getting an on-the-record confirmation that, for example, Harper Collins reviewed the medical records proving Palin's multiple medical stories (including corrected hospital records by her own account) would be a useful piece of information. [emphasis mine]
Shorter Sully: Is Trig really the birth son of Sarah Palin?
Even shorter answer: Yes.
Follow up: Are you sure?
Retort: Even without looking at the records. Yes.
*The one line summery of the review: I still have hopes for Sarah Palin, provided she starts listening to what I have to say. Credit for the line goes to Joshua Livestro.

Andrew Sullivan has issues.
And they (libs) call us wingnuts. This guy needs Help, or even a Padded Cell.

Normal person to Andrew Sullivan: What do you do for a living?
Andrew Sullivan to normal person: I obsess about the goings on of Sarah Palin's uterus.
Normal person (scootching away from Andrew Sullivan): Oh.

I prefer Chuck Heath's confirmation of Trig's birth, paraphrasing from the book:
"Of course he's Sarah's baby. I was there when he came out, Dumba$$!"
Captain Obvious Nancy strikes again! ;)

Well. It's true.:)
It is very true! I appreciate your comments, Nancy!
Whitney.. Good reply by Chuck.. :)
The only way Andrew Sullivan is going to believe that Sarah Palin actually gave birth to Trig, is to somehow time travel back to April 2008, and watch the delivery. He can get cheek to cheek with the doctor as Trig pops out.
LOL, Whitney!:)
Mr. Reynold.
a) did not read the book,
b) does not understand English.
In any case he should not review a book he did not read or did not understand.
This was the first time I had ever heard of a grandfather attending a birth. Seems like a very enlightened family.
Oh my LORD, Andrew, GET OVER YOURSELF.
That guy Andrew Sullivan has serious mental issues. He is SO obsessed with her. GET OVER YOURSELF ANDREW..I think he is obsessed with her because he has the hots for her and he knows he can't have her. Its the only viable explanation, either that or he is a total whack job, maybe its a mix of both
Reynolds was very detailed in his review. His excellent writing indicates he understands English. Maybe you should read the review again.
I'm sure this will cause some head scratching.
But, I think he probably meant, he was standing outside of the delivery room, and then after the baby was weighed, tested and baby and mom were cleaned up, then he came back into the room to congratulate Todd and Sarah and get his turn to hold the baby. And that is what he meant when he said that he was there when Trig popped out.
I don't know about you all, but there was no way I was letting my dad into the room when I delivered any of my 4 kids. But I am sure my dad would say, that he was there when my 4th one was born. Because he was, standing right outside the door, and then came in after everything was okay for him to come back in.
I find it more interesting that the Obamas continue to stay completely silent when Governor Palin's family is raked over the coals by these pundits.
What kind of person goes after a child with special needs?
What kind of President do we have in the White House who lacks this much class and dignity to not stand up like a gentleman and act in good conscious?
Andrew Sullivan is a homosexual with HIV who may be suffering from AIDS related dementia. He's also taking testosterone shots which may be affecting his brain. Yes indeed, he has issues. He ought to stop worrying about Trig Palin and start worrying about his own sanity.
I may be slightly off on the quote. I don't have the book with me right now. All I know for sure is that Mr. Heath said "Dumba$$". :)
By the way, there must be some kind of censor built into the commenting system. I do not use expletives except when I'm quoting someone. However, I really do know how to spell the expletive word. The system just corrects me. :)
^^^because he is not a gentleman and he doesn't have a conscious.
The same kind of President who makes fun of those with special needs when he talks about bowling.
That man could not make up his mind in the review. First he though Palin was Presidential material then she wasn't. He liked what she had to say about her life experiences then he smashes her for lack of intellect. It was a schizophrenic review.
Actually, the explantion for Sullivan's insanity lies within the illegal substances he was caught using.
He was probably outside the delivery room. That is not unusual to have other family outside the delivery room but nearby.
Sandra, you totally fail to understand that Reynolds was scoring the book as whether it was an intellectual manifesto which it is not.
First Things is an intellectual site. I've read some of their stuff before. In fact, I find it strange that FT would even be reviewing her book. They should stick to intellectual stuff because that is what their focus is on.
"Going Rogue" is simply Sarah's story in her words. That's it.
He is VERY VERY much like my uncle who died of AIDS. Always upset with the world, very urban, very gay, and always looking for justification for his vice. Once you know one you tend to recognize them.
"justification for his vice"? Getting AIDS is a vice?
Could be a stretch but if he got AIDS from doing something that every expert out there says you are suppose to do when having such sexual activity then yes that could be classified as a vice. IT means he could not control himself when in situations when the protection was not available and is a vice.
He may have been. Remember this is his daughter. The guys butchers Moose and caribou, there is nothing in a delivery room that is going to shock this guy.
Actually he is very careful with his words. HE knows that once he makes the official accusation, here comes the defamation of character followed by a DNA test and he loses everything he has ever made.
Name the details? Not the talking points. Also the book was never a detailed policy book, more of a how I govern book. If she wants details it will likely be a 2nd (less sells but more policy) book that can use her well researched Facebook posts.
I was responding only to Guest's observations about reading the book and understanding English. It was a strange venue for reviewing a light autobiography.
There were many people who acquired AIDS before it was understood. Some people got it from blood transfusions. I think we should be a little more forgiving here. I suspect a lot of us were created by acts when protection was not available. In my case, I'm pretty glad they acted.
Is Sullivan denying what a full term is? I didn't see that. Most people agree with the 9 months, but there are differences on the number of weeks, depending on how you count.
Actually besides on dwelling on some Plato quotes, which is ironic because we can't be living more in the Oracle of the cave, than we are now .I found it a particularly disingenuous and frankly unChristian review
Sullivan is deranged, one tries to fisk him, but it's a pointless task, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Horace Greeley, could not have envisaged the level to which the Atlantic has drifted. JMR seems like a bitter man, in the course of this review, as well as the follow ups by Hunter Baker and other fellow bloggers. Elizabeth Scalia, the Anchoress, David Goldman, 'Spengler; et al, have all been pretty fair to her, but this comes across like the sectarian version of Krauthammer
First Things has also picked up a few blogs and put them under their wing.. Most notably is Gateway Pundit and The Anchoress..
GP used to be under Blogger and I'm not sure about the Anchoress...
Not sure what their posting rules are but Evangel is under the same catagory at GP and The Anchoress and a few others..
I think it's pretty safe to say that Andrew Sullivan became infected with AIDS by having gay sex
Shocking, I know.. but there it is.
Sullivan is a nut case that needs to be put behind a locked door and lefted to slowly disappear into his nutty world. A sick man.
Dumbest comment I have ever seen. a. People today are still being created with protection around and would have years ago. b. Sullivan contracted AIDs well after it was known about blood transfusions (he contracted it about 10 years ago). Bottomline his vice was too great and he ignored all the warnings from the experts. Hate that he has it, but yes his vice got him.
Yes or no Sandra. Did Sarah give birth to Trig. ANything other than yes (don't want some lecture) and I will recommend the editors remove you. So if you answer anything other than yes than please go to a different site.
