Sarah Palin: Commemorating a Victory for Freedom
Via Facebook:
Twenty years ago, the ultimate symbol of the division between freedom and tyranny was torn down. The Berlin Wall was constructed for one purpose: to prevent the escape of East Germans to the freedom of the West. The Wall’s cold, gray façade was a stark reminder of the economic and political way of life across the Soviet Union’s sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.
Ronald Reagan never stopped regarding the Berlin Wall as an affront to human freedom. When so many other American leaders and opinion makers had come to accept its presence as inevitable and permanent, Reagan still hammered away at the Wall’s very premise in human tyranny, until finally the Wall itself was hammered down. Its downfall wasn’t the work of Reagan alone. Our president’s actions were joined with the brave acts of many individuals who stood firm and united in facing the Soviet Union. The Berlin Wall came down because millions of people behind the Iron Curtain refused to accept the fate of enslavement and their supporters in the West refused to accept that the “captive nations” would remain captive forever.
Though that long, tragic episode in human history had come to a close finally with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, it wasn’t the “end of history” or the end of conflict as some had hoped. New conflicts confront us today throughout the world which call for courage and resolve and dedication to freedom. The new democracies and market economies that have emerged in Central and Eastern Europe still require our friendship and alliances as they continue to seek security, prosperity, and self-determination. But as we reflect on present and future challenges, let’s take time to celebrate the anniversary of this awesome victory for freedom. The downfall of that cold, gray concrete Wall should be a lesson to us in hope. Nothing is inevitable. Tyranny is no match for the hope and resolve of those who work and fight for freedom.

Sarah has been a busy girl recently, carrying her LOTUS and history books wherever she goes.
God bless her.
Thank You!... Madame President...2012
I get tears in my eyes when I read some of this ladys writings. Now, this is "hope".
I can never here the word "freedom" to much.
What else would you expect from the political love child of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher? I'm sure her Veterans' Day post on Wednesday will be equally as moving!
Maybe The Won will mention this in between shout outs to the event organizers, his cabinet, the TOTUS, the Academy of Arts & Sciences, and the styrofoam greek columns swaying in the breeze behind him.....
Good morning all, and thank you, Sarah.
I was in Germany when the wall came down and well remember the joy and gratitude among many Germans for U.S. leadership and support for reunification.
Sarah Palin...Is the future of... "REAL HOPE and CHANGE"!
Thank you. Sarah.
On a different note I remember Roger Walter performing The Wall at The Wall. I still have the original cassettes from the show. I got them the day they were released.
Good Morning.
A message of strength and optimism buried in a message of rememberance. This period of tyranny currently trying to devour America can and will be defeated. Thank you Sarah - hope for the future. May God bless you and keep you strong.
I was stationed in Germany when the wall came down and was Staff Duty Officer that night. Calls were coming in all the time. HAd to keep commanders up to date. I was at EUCOM HQs so you can imagine what it was like.
Facebook only needs a little over 25,000 patriotic Americans to hit the 1,000,000 mark....today?....tomorrow?....end of the week?. Speak the truth and they will come.
Tomorrow marks the one week time until it's All Sarah...All Day...Everyday...through the end of the year. Anticipation...can you feel it?...the medea is starting to feel it - like a cancer eating their collective guts....McCain & Company to get their just rewards for their fatal mistakes?....Obama needing truckloads of Depends now...the Barracuda is unleashed and she's doing it her way...the revolution begins
I checked Facebook right away this morning because I KNEW she would have a wonderful post for us. Eloquent.
Day off today, house is cleaned, son is off to school. I will be checking in frequently because this site has become an addiction :)
Nicely done by Sarah. After this weekends vote in the House of Representatives, I really needed a nice pick me up. This hit the spot. Incidentally, the National Review Online has linked to Sarah's Berlin Wall message.
She posted this gem at 10:35pm Alaska Time, literally 2 minutes before I checked her FB page. Late night for Lady Sarah..... 4 FB notes in two days, I hope she doesn't get carpal tunnel syndrome.....
I posted this over at HA in the Iran thread.
Lately I'm overwhelmed with a feeling that I had in the 1980s, and that's a good thing. As the child of Cuban immigrants I always knew how and why communism was bad. No amount of MSM nonsense ever shook my belief in how inhumane that system is.
Then in the early 1980s I was an undergrad in a Comparative Economics class. The professor showed us how ridiculous Marxist theory was, how it couldn't work. It wasn't an emotional discussion, it was an exploration of Marx's ideas and conclusions. They're nonsense.
Then, as an undergrad, I traveled to the Soviet Union in 1984. I saw firsthand how horrific life was in this system. I saw pass the rosy picture that our Intourist guide presented. I saw a sad people in a drab, colorless life devoid of hopes and dreams. I saw a poor country that had nuclear weapons and nothing else.
But I also realized that we in the West would prevail, no question about it. Thank God we had Reagan in office at that time, a voice for freedom who would never stop pushing for freedom in that part of the world. Thank God we had Thatcher and Pope John Paul II as well.
I saw that Communism would implode because human beings will only take so much before they realize they have nothing left to lose and nothing to live for. I also realized that economically it could not last forever in a world where at some point someone has to make money. The Soviet empire did not exist in a vacuum, it existed in a world economic order dominated by Capitalism. They could not complete, they were never going to be able to compete.
Today I'm seeing the same. Everything that the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress are doing and want to do makes no economic sense and run counter to human behavior. If they achieve the control they want, we will all be dissidents because normal human behavior will be outlawed in so many ways. Imagine this.........the government mandates "smart" technology in your home (thermostat today, toilet paper dispenser tomorrow) and monitors your usage. Let's say you want to warm your house a bit more or use more toilet paper than allowed, oh yes, you will be fined. I see this future if these people are left unchecked. Without a doubt, as others have said, the environmental movement is the new totalitarianism.
But we are not long-suffering Russians with a history or Czars and serfdom. We are freedom-loving Americans with a history of self-reliance and personal responsibility. We are chafing under this government and we cannot wait to vote in 2010 and 2012.
All we need is freedom and this country will come roaring back. We need the opposite of everything the current government is doing.

Thanks for sharing that... What a blessed experience of a lifetime... Im sure upon reflection that moment is even more profound as the years go by.
I'm sure this comment will render some comment about my age, but I was 6 years old when the Berlin wall fell. It was the first "world news event" that I really remember happening. I obviously didn't grasp the full meaning of it then, and probably still do not entirely now. However, thanks to a great recommendation from someone here at C4P (I don't remember who, sorry) over the spring, I read The President, The Pope, and The Prime Minister which really showed me just what the Evil Empire was and revealed to me just how instrumental the likes of Reagan, the Pope, and Thatcher were in bringin it down.
Does everyone here know about the "In For $10" FaceBook moneybomb scheduled for the Million Supporter Mark?
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=142842668786&ref=mf
if just 200,000 (20%) donate $10 each, that books 2 million dollars..and at $5000 max donation per candidate from SarahPAC, that boosts 400 patriots running for office in both state and federal primaries and in the general elections. No oddall link to go thru, just click on SarahPAC and donate...but the dramatic effect of bunching up the donations should get some more attention for the cause.

Right!... Real Hope and Change... with a dose of real TRUST!
What is It Sarah says, kinda sarc., Im paraphrasing... "Now For Some Change We Can Count On"

We need to get our family members even if they don't support Palin to join FB or get your co-workers to join to get her numbers up there.
"doing it her way..." I like that!
Kjanlady
So true... strength and optimism
Sarah exudes Strength and Optimism... they come forth from her being like the involuntary act of breathing.
PEC...
Thanks for sharing... what a life long experience that must be to reflect upon.
I know she has to be really busy but can you imagine the reaction if she had been able to go there and be part of the ceramony and give this speech.
Kjanlady
WOW!... I sure can feel It!... Im believing exactly like you.
You think she sleeps? The other day I was on her FB page and it froze up ( I was trying to refresh to see new comments) and up pops her new note about the Wisconsin speech. I thought it funny that she was posting at that moment I was there. Dumb, I know, but felt like I had a connection.
I really can't wait for this book to get out. Hurry up already!!!
When will the other candidates have a cow and cry like a baby that Sarah didn't have to pay out of pocket to go to Iowa.
We have locations but do we have a good calendar on when all of these stops are taking place? I am sure there is some rhyme and reasoning.
PEC,
Texas for Palin has a something on their sidebar with a calendar of events.
Thanks Whit.
Sarah...she is my hero. Gov. Palin knows the 'heart beat' for most of Americans. No wonder the liberals are afraid...and afraid they should be. She will be President.
Looking at the calendar, this is going to be a tight schedule for the Guv.
Definitely a pattern there. You can tell that she will be riding buses between some places and then flying to others. Look like normally 2 stops a day with some once and at least in Florida 3 stops. This should be fun. Hopefully a couple of reporters ride the bus with her some.
Great morning to all!... Waking up to Face Book is like a day with Sunshine and Rainbows and Roses.
Don't know how many caught Doug's post yesterday referencing Patrick S. Adams---"The Sarah Palin Binge"... An Unbelievably Up-Lifting, Emotional... and in my humble but admittedly biased opinion, accurate assessment of what our Madam 45 is beginning to do.
His Words, paraphrasing... "Sarah basically did the work equivalent of earning a PHD in political science during the last three months and wrote a book while doing It... there are going to be a lot of people who are going to be shocked at the politically mature and ridiculously charismatic Sarah Palin we are going to see... WE ARE GOING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO A ELECTRIFIER WHEN SHE BECOMES A BEHEMOTH.
Needless to say... Im on cloud nine... Patrick Adams piece is an acknowledgment of all I have been hoping and praying for Sarah and America.
What??????????? Sioux Falls is only about 2 hours for me!!! I'm so excited, I really didn't want to drive to the Cities as we Minnesotans call it (Minneapolis-St.Paul). I hate driving there! We only go there for the Twins games at the dome, next they're at their new field - Target Field.
I'm off to Google Maps to find out where this is in Sioux Falls. Thanks for making my day Beehive! I'm stoked!
conservativemama
WOW!... Thanks for sharing your first hand experiences and hopes and dreams for America... your an inspiration!
ChillininMN
Im believing you did connect... how neat!
Thank you Governor Palin for such a wonderful and moving post.
2009 Current State of Affairs -
President Obama sends Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to make remarks regarding 20th Anniversary of the Collapse of the Berlin Wall. He cannot find the time to fit this event in his schedule because he wouldn't want to offend the Communists still living there.
On the other hand, President Obama does finds the time in his busy schedule to make trip to Copenhagen in December to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
And then we have Governor Palin. Governor Palin acknowleges one of the greatest moments in our history in a Facebook post today.
It looks to me that we only have one person acting like a true Commander-in-Chief and it ain't the guy currently residing in the White House right now.
riley4palin
Soooo True!... You are Right On!
Isn't the Gridiron speech the nite before. I wouldn't be surprised if Sarah going to have a charter plane at her disposal.
Thanks for the reminder about The Wall concert. I have it on DVD. Will make a point of watching it again today.
Sarah, another great facebook post. I will never be able to fully express how much I appreciate the courageous choices you've made in an effort to protect the freedom and country I cherish.
A wonderful post per her usual. I can hardly believe its been 20 years since that amazing event. I hope people open their eyes a little bit more today and remember what life was like when Communism was an ever present freedom eating fungus. The fact that people are welcoming Communism or its relatives today in so many countries including our own, is a disgrace. I love the last sentence in her post. She's right tyranny just cannot stand against people who love freedom.
You know, I got that sense also: that she was communicating something not just about the past, the brutal tyranny in East Germany, but a very subtle and poignant message to those of us deeply troubled by the budding tyranny in our beloved country. Sarah operates on multiple levels, and I have no doubt she sees that our enemies are within.
I am getting ticked off. The closest book signing is 7 hours drive, one way.
unofficial calendar here, based on info posted on C4P (web sites too)
does not have the B & N's posted today (Iowa, SD)
avatar = :-)
whaky polar bear . . .
Nice age!
Wouldn't that be just like the 'Cuda to find a way to work in how she is "unleashed" now that she's traveling the country on her book bus tour? ;)
Me, too, JeanA, me, too. Rochester, NY. Don't think I'm gonna' do that though ...
So far NO NE states. I agree with Hillbuzz to a point, but there are MANY MORE conservatives in CT then people realize. Watch Dodd get dumped in 2010 if you don't think so. ;)
Governor Palin, thank you for all of your uplifting words, written so wonderfully, and with a thankful heart. I appreciate your leadership, so, so much! I pray for you and your family every day. God bless you and keep you safe.
Scared he will offend Hugo Chavez and Castro. This is a day of mourning for Obama and these people.
I was thirteen. It was very exciting. This song about it was very popular at the time. Watch the video, it's full of imagry from the time.
There is a gap between Rochester and Norfolk. Hope she isn't going on the morning blabber mouth shows. They are useless.
President Obama says:
First of all, uh, this happened before I, uh, uh, became President, so ya know, time, uh, did not begin, uh, until January 20, 2009, soooooo, uh, if I didn't have anything to do with it, uh, does it really matter? Uh, I mean, uh, come on.
Secondly, uh, uh, who says that, uh, the wall, coming down, was, uh, a good thing?
Mia:
Expect to hear Governor Palin use Obama's own words of real "Change You Can Believe In" in future interviews, book tour appearances, and Facebook posts.
We got our first preview Friday night. I love it when she twists the knife slowly.
Tell me about it, I have to drive from Minneapolis to Sioux Falls all the time. Long, boring drive that really sucks in the winter.
Reading her words, clicking my heels together, saying:
There's no one like President Palin.
There's no one like President Palin.
For comparison, see: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/presidential-proclamation-world-freedom-day
Twenty years ago today, the Wall came down in Berlin and both a country and a continent came together. After thousands of East Berliners flooded through checkpoints into West Berlin, border restrictions dissolved across Eastern Bloc countries. The Iron Curtain that divided Europe for decades finally fell, ushering in a new era of freedom and cooperation. On this anniversary, we are reminded that no challenge is too great for a world united in common purpose. After the Berlin Wall fell, oppressive regimes across the globe gave way. From Kiev to Cape Town, prison camps closed and democracy's doors were unlocked for millions who had known only tyranny. Markets opened too, spreading information and technology that empowered once-insolvent nations to achieve prosperity. Twenty years later, our world is more interconnected than at any time in human history, giving rise to new opportunities for shared progress. Today, the barriers that challenge our world are not walls of cement and iron, but ones of fear, irresponsibility, and indifference. History reminds us that such walls can be torn down, but where they still exist we must work with all nations to strengthen civil societies, support democratic institutions and the rule of law, and promote free and fair electoral processes. Upholding these principles into the 21st century will require America's enduring commitment and steady leadership. From our first days as a Nation, Americans have felt a sense of urgency and determination to promote liberty and release the potential within each individual to contribute to the common good. On World Freedom Day, we celebrate the thriving democracies of Central and Eastern Europe, and we honor their citizens' right to choose their own destinies and contribute to their nations' future success. NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 9, 2009, as World Freedom Day. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day in fellowship with other nations and people of the world with appropriate ceremonies and activities, reaffirming our dedication to freedom and democracy. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this ninth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth.
For the record, Gov. Palin posted her thoughts first.
Pawlenty is going to be kicking himself silly when he watches first hand how long it takes for 700 people to show up to her event in Iowa.
Poor Tim.
Reagan / Thatcher love child... Love it!
Soooooooooo..... Obomination thinks he has the power to proclaim "WORLD Freedom Day"? Does he think he was elected King of the Earth?!?!?! Heck, he's not even MY President......
I may be just a pagan but I've read Revelations......
I ain't working for the common good, though my efforts may contribute to it.
Ya note his speechwriter appears to have plagaried/rewrote/revised portions of Lady Sarah's Facebook note with more flowery language......
Mrs. Palin unleashed? ARE WE THERE YET? I CAN'T WAIT!
Please note that OMMMMMbaba's speechwriter appears to have plagerized/revised/re-wrote portions of Lady Sarah's Facebook note with more flowery language and a few Socialist buzzwords and catch-phrases thrown in....... Does that mean she is ghost-writing his speeches?!?!? ;-)
We need a "dislike" button. (Sorry Whit, not you, the O proclamation thingy)
Geez, a simple speech would have been sufficient from the guy. But NOOOOOOOOOO, World Freedom Day, he's just ikky.
I interpreted that the same way. Who does he think he is?
Did Obama get ahold of his crayons again?
World Freedom Day! Hilarious.
I see another Nobel Peace Prize for The One!
Well, I'm off to Hallmark to find a World Freedom Day card.
No mention of Reagan.
But, on the other hand, no mention of the free kittens and puppy dogs that will accompany the constant sunshine and rainbows of this World Freedom Day.
The least he could have done is been present in Germany, but he only goes to speak to Germans when he has the chance to speak before thousands to apologize for America. Even he knows there is nothing to apologize for the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Obama sent this proclamation to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, along with a box of Depends, because he knows it will get them all wee-weed up.
World Freedom Day?????....
Hey O'blabla!!!!...Give me a Break!...Your Pathetic!!...Hurled Up My Socks!!
Whitney,
Didn't Obama want to be like Reagan at one time?
Socialists all over the world are getting that 'leg-tingling' feeling.........
I think so. He thinks that he is the Great Communicator. Pshh.. whatever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgTgenwl2aA
I can't watch this at work, but I have a feeling it is how Reagan would react to Obama. You all need to let me know how it is.
That statement made me want to vomit. World Freedom Day?
Obama is over the top with his demonstrations of authority. His grandious over-reactions are comical.
And he urges us to engage in "appropriate" commemorations? What would be an inappropriate commemoration? Maybe he should put out some instructions for us on how to celebrate. No tea parties on World Freedom Day?
Oh Nancy! I'm laughing so hard I'm cryin' here!!!
"I see another Nobel Peace Prize for The One!"
"Well, I'm off to Hallmark to find a World Freedom Day card."
You do crack me up :0))))))
Yep, Recovering Democrat, no tea parties allowed, they're not PC. I'm just guessing though...
Oh, and I just noticed that today's walls, according to Dr. Utopia, are fear, irresponsibility and indifference. I have no idea who he might be referring to, but I think he just accused himself:
Fear: Obama saying more people will die if we don't pass Obamacare
Irresponsibility: 20 Trillion debt by 2016
Indifference: Shout outs to Dr. Joe before addressing a terrorist attack on our military
This Obama proclamation is just like the Seinfeld episode where George doesn't want to give Christmas gifts to his fellow office workers, because he is so cheap and childhood trauma. So, he makes up a fund, and hands out cards as his Christmas gift.
The card reads: A donation has been made in your name to the Human Fund. The Human Fund. Money For People.
Jerry: What is that?
George: Made it up.
Jerry: It has a certain understated stupidity.
George hands card to fellow office worker: She is excited, reads the card, suddenly she is unimpressed and says, Oh.....thanks. Walks away.
George flicks card to Phil, another fellow office worker, offscreen: You hear Phil say: OW!
George gives Human Fund card to his boss, boss reads it and says: Whatever. Walks off.
George says: Exactly.
Obama is George, just making things up to make himself look good, but with no real benefit to others.
I haven't watched a whole lot of Seinfeld, but a few other analogies:
The Obama presidency is a show about nothing.
Joe Biden sometimes reminds me of Kramer.
I. Am. So. Sick. Of. It. Being. About. Him.
The Berlin Wall coming down is enough for its own day.
Just celebrate that, dude.
How come it has to be about you making this World Freedom Day!
You haven't done a, you know what, thing to make this anything you proclaim day!
I'm chalking it up to "Obama happens.'
ChillinInMN,
Thanks!:)
Whitney,
That is a great video! Good call!:)
Uh, hilarious Nancy!! :)
if anyone from CNN reads this they will probably start reporting the story of Palin's 'real' parents. Citing an "anonymous" blogger as their source- which seems to be their favorite.
"World Freedom Day"?
You can't be serious.
Does anyone have a brick left over as a souvenir from the fall 20 years ago?
I would love to use it right now.
Obama declared the anniversary of the Berlin Wall "World Freedom Day". He declared September 11th "National Day of Service" (or something like that).
He probably would have declared the 4th of July something else to, but he was still wee-weed up by the fact that Gov. had resigned the day before, throwing a wrench in his plans.
Let's see what he renames Veterans' Day on Wednesday. Perhaps National Photo Op Exploitation Day?
This is my favorite "saying" about Sarah Palin. She is indeed a melding of their philosophies.
I have a question. Why is it that only Sarah Palin acts as if she is the real President of the United States? The answer is: Because no one else can do it.
On this day in History...Nov. 6th 1984 ...Ronald Reagan was Elected President.
I am marking Nov. 6th 2012...as NATIONAL FREEDOM DAY!
Is Nov. 6th an Omen?
Uhhhhhh. World Freedom Day? Another made up holiday? Uhhhhhhhh. He doesn't understand the word FREEDOM. He almost never says it and he just destroyed the concept of it with his World Freedom day. He probably just wrote that note all by himself.
Remember his disappointing inauguration speech? He made that all up by himself, too. Our little Bammy hasn't shown any improvement since Jan. 20th.
Yes!!!!!
I just want to say what I should have said a long time ago.
There are many people on this site who have served in our military.
I want to personally say THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice for my freedom!!!

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
I was 21 and in college when the wall came down. I remember it well and could not believe it. You have done well in reading etc. to get the same feeling we all had who were older when it occurred. I remember thinking that with this the beginning or the end of the Soviet Union was being witnessed.
Nancy,
Can you please change your avatar? I understand it stands for Obama's narcissism, but it looks like an Obama U of I Block I. It makes me sad to see it like that! :(
yada, yada, yada....obama
Uh oh. I'd better be careful.
Thank You Lipstick

If I were not a devout Southern Baptist and were a betting girl, I would bet the Guv is running for POTUS. This saddens me when I think about the boys (Mitt, Huck, Paul, Palenty, Obama) having to debate her. How unfair. They will all be suffering form hypoxia.
"Hypoxia generally refers to a lack of oxygen in any part of the body. In a neurological context, it refers to a reduction of oxygen to the brain despite adequate amounts of blood."
"A failure to deliver oxygen and glucose to the brain causes a cascade of abnormal events."
"Symptoms of mild cerebral hypoxia can include poor judgment, memory loss, inattentiveness, and a decrease in motor coordination."
"Treatment is urgent and includes basic and advanced life-support measures. It is important to maintain breathing, dispense intravenous fluids and medications, and maintain stability with blood products and medications that control blood pressure and seizures."
I have mentioned many times on this board that if you have never watched footage of the Guv's debates in the primary and general election for governor in AK you should.
She is a great debater.
Reading this makes it so OBVIOUS what was happening to the boys who were debating her then. Her suck out the O two factor has increased since then and I predict it to be even worse for the boys in 2012.
For long time Seinfeld fans -

I am a Catholic and love a good game of craps and blackjack and visit Las Vegas on occasion. Therefore, I will bet that she is indeed running for POTUS. :)
I agree with you and Whitney that she will suck the oxygen out of the other contenders in the race. She already has and she hasn't even announced she is running yet.
I'm church of Christ, so I really don't bet money. I've made bets with friends about ridiculous things (Nancy, I bet on Cards/Cubs game, big mistake...I had to make my facebook pic of me in a Cubs' outfit...boo). I always lose bets, so I will not bet. However, I feel the odds are increasing day-by-day.
http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/11/07/lawmakers-detail-obamas-pitch/
Unbelievable how polarizing this guy is. The name is Americans, not people. He needs to know he is President of all Americans not just the ones that agree with him.
Seriously. I don't even agree entirely with what he said about the world coming together. I don't recall China or Cuba or Iraq or Africa really giving a whoop about the Berlin Wall coming down.
Obama makes things up. He lessens their value.
I'm with you, Nancy... Berlin wall coming down is enough on its own without some made-up holiday celebrating world unity and "cooperation." Blah, blah, blah. Same with 9/11... just let it be what it is.
OK. I will admit when I got married hubby and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon. I went into the Casino and put $1.00 in the slot machine. Nothing happened, I lost my dollar. I have never bet anything since.
But I ,too, do "bet" Sarah runs. Unless the economy turns around, unemployment is 6% etc, not gonna happen. Sarah knows this is her opening.
That's ok, Lipstick. I lost $12 in Las Vegas at the slots the one time I've been there. Slot machines are like a democrat-controlled DC, you give it your money, but get nothing in return.
Another "Festivus Miracle!"
Much like our Texas state lottery that was suppose to fund education to the hilt in our state. Hubby and I have never bought a lottery ticket. Out little joke about it is "We let someone else pay that tax."
I know sometimes I am bad on this board, but I really am a very devout Baptist. I believe strongly in living in such a way that no one can say "Oh, I thought lipstick was Baptist. What is she doing that for?" I would not want to cause anyone to stumble and most importantly I want to please my Lord.
Nothing like a day of fishing...then running over to Cripple Creek and playing the slots after a great Prime Rib Dinner!.... Wet Dog sleeping on my seat in the truck...LOL! Win some lose some.
Amen, sister. I'm with you. I can't think of anything you said that was uncalled for.
My faith is very important (well, the most important) to me as well. You have full permission to call me out if I get out of line.
Me to. Please be my accountability partner on this board!!!
I'm Mormon. We only gamble when we're sure nobody will tell the bishop on us. Ha! My parent's live just outside Vegas, and mom is a devout craps player.
I think Sarah is definitely gonna roll the dice in 2012. What's she got to lose?
You betcha!
I think that Sarah's a betting woman, at least in colloquialisms. :)
Sorry, Whitney! This one should put a smile on your face!:)
If the lack of oxygen doesn't do them in, the blinding light and high voltage electricity will.
"Up on Cripple Creek, she sends me...
If I spring a leak, she mends me...
I don't have to speak, she defends me.

Ladies!
Stop playing the slot machines!!! The house will always win and you will lose your butt. Horrible odds, just like Roulette.
The best odds for any player is Craps, followed by Blackjack. All gambling is risky, but it can be a hell of a lot of fun playing with friends and of course when luck is on your side.
:)
Lipstick and Whit:
I guess it leaves it up to me then to call you both out when I see you getting out of line. LOL
Just kidding. You both are always so kind to everyone and to be honest, I love the feisty sarcastic sides of both of you. It make me laugh and smile.
I think God has an amazing sense of humor and laughs with us.
Carry on. Keep being who you are. Loving women who have a fun side too. :)

The 'Cuda is gonna be twittering during the book tour!! Awesome. She won't have to be PC like on her gov. account. Nothing like 'Cuda wit throughout the day.
CC.. is fun! I fish not too far from there..right behind Pikes Peak at about 10,000ft...dog swims all day..then we head over to CC to play. I have a shell on my truck but wet stinky dog climbs through my window and sleeps on my seat... I get to ride home with a wet butt!...It's not a bad ride if I win something...;) I appraise up there a lot too...so I spend much time there!

Do you guys see the flyer? I see a wallpaper behind the twitter with a map and moose on it. HOW COOL!! I want to download the flyer but I don't see the link on the FB post.
Oh, dumb me, I see it now. LOVE. IT.
LOL Mia....
There is a little something I left out to my day of fishing...Are you any good at catching Grasshoppers?
I am very picky about my grasshoppers...yellow belly's, red legs and sometimes wings are a really good thing. Green Grasshoppers or good too! But those yellow belly's...I call them Democrats...kill everytime! I love putting a yellow bellied Democrat on my hook...watching it squirm...and then letting it soak for a few minutes...until that brook trout or rainbow...comes and sucks it down their throat!
Good grief. We need a thread on this ASAP.
I ran this afternoon(couldn't this morning). Hopping in the shower, maybe a thread by then. :)
Why... Oh... Why...Do I even Bother!!!!...YEESH!
LMAO!
