Really? A tax on national defense? I hear liberal Congressional proposals and I, like most Americans, wonder if they’re serious. We’re going to put a price tag on security?
With Congress and President Obama spending money on everything at breakneck speed, it’s interesting that they are only now getting nervous about spending – but only when it comes to providing the necessary funds to complete our mission in Afghanistan. They don’t need a new “war tax” to fund a strategy for victory in the war zone. They simply need to prioritize our money appropriately.
I find it telling that the Pelosi-Reid Congress is only cost-conscious when it comes to our national defense. Scary. Nonsensical. Unacceptable.

She has been fearless and relentless in her attacks against Obama!!! He can no longer attack her with her hands tied behind her back as governor and the people are no longer buying into the media attacks on her as valid. she is a rock star with a popularity rating equal to his.

Sarah is doing all the right stuff as a challenger to Obama. I know he is furious he can not directly attack her. lol. She is serious and at the same time having the last laugh.
I think she's referring to David Obey's comments that we need a new tax to pay for the surge in Afghanistan. All of a sudden he's worried about the deficit. I just cannot get over the complete economic ignorance of these people, in addition to their attitude towards defense and toward our troops.
I think the smart thing for Congress to do would be to cancel the rest of the stimulus that has failed in a variety of ways, use a portion of those hundreds of billions and give it to the military for supplies and equipment. Instead of trying to shove another tax down the American people's throats.

Hey Bill, my avatar is that of the very underrated President Calvin Coolidge, or "Silent Cal" as they called him in those days. (Also one of Reagan's favorite presidents.) His philosophy pretty much sums up mine lol.
I love Calvin Coolidge. He seemed to be very libertarian in his views from what I have read about him. Plus, he grew up on a farm, which as a farmer's daughter, I think is pretty cool.

Yeah you're right Whitney. I also really think that while Coolidge's personality was quite different than Sarah's, their governing philosophy would be quite similar.

I betcha I'd have more endurance. My one claim to fame in my own little internal running circle is a sub-four marathon. It wasn't necessarily a good running time, but it proves I have the endurance within me to at least gut it out and that is something. If you ever talk to my old coaches, they'd tell you, too. What I lacked in physical strength or skill I made up for in determination and endurance. So if it were a long race that required a lot of endurance, I'd win.

We have been hearing for years now, how the lefty loons "support" our troops.
But when it comes to putting more of them on the battlefield to gain victory, or making sure they have the necessary funds for the best equipment, they do exactly the opposite, or they make decisions too late.

Simply amazing. I can't coherently write more than that right now. She arrived at 7:30 on the nose, I left and was on the road at 7:35 for a 3 and a half hour drive home.

Message to Obama and Congress. Eviction notices are being prepared and will shortly be delivered. ETA....November 2010. However, my personal feelings are that a large majority of those in Washington who have sought to destroy this country and profit from their position should be taken away in handcuffs and spend some time in secure places that are unfortunately also at the expense of the American people. I suggest that when Obama succeeds in clearing out Gitmo, we turn it into a federal prison for members of Congress and the Obama Administration.
We will not be able to provide copies of the Koran to these new evildoers but we will provide 24 hours of videotaped sermons from the nation's evangelical ministers and during breaks, we will show taped recordings of town hall meetings and tea parties. You wouldn't listen when you had the chance, now you will have no option.
President Palin has instructed the military chefs to feed you well...moose stew and maybe some caribou chili. Personally, I voted for road kill and armadillo stew, but our popular and beloved President Sarah preferred to be generous. IPODS will be provided with all of President Palins speeches to a grateful nation over the next 8 years. Enjoy your well-deserved prison time and hopefully by the time you get out, you'll be rehabilatated into humans.
