Sarah Palin: If We're In It, Let's Win It

As Thanksgiving festivities wind down we contemplate all we have to be thankful for as free Americans! We head into the Christmas season wishing for leadership in Washington that reflects our commitment to the values and ideals that have built the freest and most prosperous and generous nation on earth.
Heading into December and Tuesday’s announcement of our nation’s strategy in Afghanistan, I ask the President to reassure us that the administration is in this War on Terror to win.
And I’ll pass along the following from Harold B. Estes, a 95-year-old member of the Greatest Generation: “I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out.”
Thank you, Mr. President. Please tell us on Tuesday that America is in it to win.

President Obama will probably call her a winner or some other insult on Tuesday night.
By including a reference to the entire letter by Mr. Estes, Sarah just took her opposition to Obama up a notch. You must read the entire letter to realize this is a sentiment that Sarah truly possesses but would not be given the same consideration as a 95 year old man who was a WWII vet who could make his comments without impunity.
Sarah, I don't know how you found out about this letter but as usual your timing and execution are brilliant and impeccable.

I know I probably need to stifle my anticipation that the Governor is running for President, but you know how as Senators, Obama and McCain compared voting records during the campaign and in debates? Assuming the Governor runs for President, it'll be amazing how the Governor could use her Facebook posts vs. TOTUS rhetoric to provide the clear contrast between the two.

Ugh, the people on the Hannity board suck! There are some flaming liberals over there and they decided to spend the evening starting a thread about Sarah not finishing the race (Turkey Trot) on Thanksgiving. They are basically saying she quit again and asking why someone would twitter where they are going to be and then leave because the crowd is too big...
Spit nails............. let's see not finish a race for whatever reason (she was pushing a double stroller with two toddlers that could have needed who knows what) or quit a war and abandon our troops.....hmmmm....
Did you all notice that Obama always has to schedule a big speech after Sarah calls him out publicly? First there was the joint session of Congress after she pointed out the death panels.
Then the day after she calls him a ditherer in her interview with Greta, he announces this big photo op speech at West Point.
Coincidence? Or does he really have a Palin problem? ha ha
It's a completely non-Freudian psychological problem known as Palin envy.
She didn't enter the 5k, she entered the 1K "walk" ... I saw this in one of the write-ups somewhere. She was in the race that her aunt had registered the family for. It was not the full 5k.

Predictions for Obama's speech Tuesday:
1) He will blame Bush for something
2) He will use the phrase "mutual cooperation" or "shared responsibility"
3) He will use the phrase "exit strategy"
4) He will not use the words "victory" or "terror"
5) He will use the word "critics"
6) He will praise his deliberative (dithering) process
7) He will use the phrase "not rush in"
8) He will pay lip service to the "sacrifice" of the troops
9) He will use the phrases "my strategy" and "my intention"
And,
10) Patriotic Americans will need to keep their barf bags nearby.
They are basing it on an article in one of the newspapers where the police are quoted as asking if her what she wanted to do about finishing the race and the large crowd waiting at the end. They claim she said she wanted to get home to eat.
I am still hunting for the article. I was hoping someone on this board was there and could tell me what happened.

People who don't run, don't get it. Any race on thanksgiving morning is for the fun of it. It is one of the few races that people just want to be together and enjoy the holiday. Any other race, people are competitive, but thanksgiving morning it totally different.

This posting and the wonderful letter written by Mr. Estes complements an article I read at the American Thinker this weekend. The Greatest Generation in Britain cannot believe what's happened to their country.
How sad to have given so much for freedom only to live long enough to see ingrates in charge of the country that you fought for.
Her eldery parents were on the race, she was pushing a baby cart with two babies (Trigg and Tripp) and the organizers were waving trouble with the crowds around Sarah, specially those accumulating at the finish line, all waiting for the opportunity to see/touch/talk/ask questions/get fotographed with/bump/push/yell/grab/mob/ Sarah. No wonder she judiscioulsy veered off and did not ge to the finish line. Who wants to navigate through mob with a baby cart with two babies (mob's iq reduces proportionally to the size of the mob, just see what happened at Walmart last year). I guess no good deed (on the part of Sarah) goes unpunished.
