I hope all og Nadal Malik Hasan 's records and patients are evaluated.  I can't believe this killer was allowed to administer medication to our troops.

Texas will rally from this. We lost some good people today.

Sarah's statement was heartfelt and classy.  She loves our brave troops! I join her in prayers for the soldiers' families.

I was stunned and left speechless by how cold and inappropriate Obama behaved at his press conference re: Mt. Hood tragedy today. People are talking about it all over the blogoshere.

Andrew,  November 5, 2009 7:56 PM

You mean she didn't give a shout out like Obama did?

AmeriCuda,  November 5, 2009 8:03 PM

Atlas Shrugged is doing a great job covering this tragedy -and calling out Shepard Smith.

I feel so terrible about what happened today at Ft. Hood, such a tragedy..My heart goes out to the brave men and women who died today and their families. When Sarah says she is praying for them she means it..meanwhile, today our supposed Commander in Chief gives a press conference, gives a shout out, and doesnt mention the tragedy until 5 minutes after he starts giving his speech..what a despicable supposed leader we have. We have to get Sarah into the White House, she cares about our military

eclecticak,  November 5, 2009 8:19 PM

Once again she is quick with an appropriate respose. Our Lady Sarah loves the troops. Sadly a local police officer apparently also lost his life before this nutcase shrink was taken out. An Army MAJOR did this?!?!?!?! What sort of leadership and support apparatus are we giving our military anyway?!?

And this deranged head-shrinkers name is just a coincidence, right?

Mt. ?  Hood

I love to take Barry to the Pearly Gates - just above the 'Hog's Back' - on Mt Hood.  ;)

manajordan,  November 5, 2009 8:21 PM

My prayers are also with those affected by this atrocity. God bless all our soldiers and their loved ones.

eclecticak,  November 5, 2009 8:47 PM

The numbers are mind-boggling....... he shot 42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people before he killed the police officer and was himself killed. Have we had a single day of that many casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan combined? And he did this not with a machine gun or 'assault rifle'  but with just 2 handguns (probably 15 shot military issue Berattas)?

narciso,  November 5, 2009 9:10 PM

And he had been investigation, for the last six monthes:http://breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9BPNHDO6&show_article=1

JP,  November 5, 2009 9:11 PM

Watch Hannity.
He is talking to Colonel Terry Lee who is talking about comments the shooter made before today.
He was muslim, and upset that the wars had continued even after Obama was elected.
Holy crap!!  Stunning!!

Mountain Mama,  November 5, 2009 9:15 PM

Yes----so let's INSIST that the military NOT allow people to keep serving in the military who have said that they don't want to fight their Islamic "brothers."
WHY was this nut allowed to keep working----and to carry guns on the base?!
(And what about our national brothers and sisters?!)

Mountain Mama,  November 5, 2009 9:15 PM

OMG!  The shooter is NOT DEAD!

Indemind,  November 5, 2009 9:17 PM

I'm with you Lipstick... A lot rounds to get with two hand guns. Their had to have been a reload, I just don't understand how he did it . Find out later on
I hope.

I am sad but angry too.
I haven't felt this way since 9-11.
Senseless, brutal tragedy.

May God Bless those who were killed and injured at Ft. Hood today.
May He Comfort the families of these soldiers and civilians, including the Ft. Hood family.
I will keep them all in my prayers too.

The Commandress-in-Chief speaks.

Whitney,  November 5, 2009 9:20 PM

This kind of news just makes me sick to my stomach.

Whitney,  November 5, 2009 9:22 PM

The officer (a woman) who shot the shooter and the shooter are both still alive!

Bill in Baltimore,  November 5, 2009 9:32 PM

How can one understand this ? Not only the "logic" behind it but the logistics and the actual assault . . .

Neo,  November 5, 2009 9:33 PM

Wanna bet Barry tries to get HIS justice department involved so he can cover his compatriot's behind?

Mia,  November 5, 2009 9:37 PM

I just went to the video...where O'blabla... spoke of this horrific incident...
O'blabla...Makes Me SICK!...
Not an ounce... of emotion!...He can't even read the script... they wrote for him!...What a Disgrace!

eclecticak,  November 5, 2009 9:45 PM

Goddess Bless the female civilian officer! Apparently she returned fire after being shot multiple times. I hope she shot this animal in the testicles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eclecticak,  November 5, 2009 9:47 PM

Hopefully he is tried by a military court for treason, a capitol offense!

JP,  November 5, 2009 9:53 PM

I saw it too.
He is truly twisted...he paused a lot during this speech, like the words kept getting stuck in his throat.
What a tool.

Denise J,  November 5, 2009 10:34 PM

He is not dead. The Major is in custody.

Neo,  November 5, 2009 10:42 PM

See the Video Here

I thought about adding video but decided a static photo would be better.

I'm really not interested in what thoughts were going through his head at the time--all I'm interested in is that he suffer the full consequences for his behavior.

I am filled with sorrow for those who were struck down in their innocence and for their families who for the remainder of their lives will endure the consequences of a chance encounter with this twisted piece of humanity.  May God hold them close in their grief and suffering.

God Bless all the Warriors who have kept us free and all those who love them!

Bill in Baltimore,  November 5, 2009 11:25 PM

Shepherd interviewing the shooter's cousin, I believe

"he's a good American" - - - I want to strangle the cousin, and the shooter as well. Freaks.

"he's always been Muslim"

JP,  November 5, 2009 11:37 PM

I second that!!  Particularly your first line...

JP,  November 5, 2009 11:38 PM

Sad & pissed off...pissed off wins when I listen to that guy talk about his cousin.

sarah palin rocks,  November 6, 2009 12:46 AM

Ooops! Obama had me so upset I mistakenly typed "Mt. Hood" instead of "Ft. Hood" in my earlier comment.

How I wish Sarah were POTUS right now!

Hefmier,  November 6, 2009 3:58 AM

The cousin was giving out a natural emotion in regards to his relative.  What if any of our cousins did the same thing?  We would be in stunned disbelief, Bill in Baltimore.  Strangling the cousin will not achieve anything, except maybe put you in jail.  That being said, the cousin should eventually be exposed to images of those directly affected by this tragedy, to face the reality that a relative of his did that.

Bill in Baltimore,  November 6, 2009 7:26 AM

Hefmeir,
so is my emotions understandable. Did you hear the guy talk ? He was cool,
calm, and collected, and more about defending his cousin "as a good
American" than acknowledging the horror of the tragedy.
What galls me even more is Shepherd Smith, to even have this person on less
than 24 hours, focusing on the perpetrator rather than the victim.
Further, it's the ultimate Islamic spin, the religion of peace. "We're
normal" (even though we kill soldiers about to deploy).
Further 2, it's the lack of acknowledgement of sin in the world.

Bill in Baltimore,  November 6, 2009 7:29 AM

The US wants to know "how can this happen" ?

It's about as easy as 1-2-3 to explain, but do you think they will do it ?
