Happy Thanksgiving to all and hope all is well for you and your clans. A few days of rest then back at it for Sarah. It seems as if it really couldn't be going any better for her. Once the Health care bill is killed or passed will she lay low except for speeches until rallying supporters for 2010 candidates? I'm starting to think there may be no rest for her until 2012 is over no matter if she runs or not.
Martha, his wife who does the books for the business and volunteers reading to blind folks
Dan, their son who is home from college; he is majoring in business administration
Laura, their 17 year old daughter in high school
Rebecca: Joe's mother, a senior who lives with them
Scene:
These folks are sitting around a spacious rectangular dining room table waiting for Joe to say grace before the begin their Thanksgiving dinner. They all bow their heads as Joe prays. Joe is the first to speak after the prayer.
Joe: "Well let's all dig in."
Serving plates are passed around and everyone fills their plate to the brim, except Rebecca. As they begin to eat the following conversation takes place.
Dan: "What's new dad? How's business?"
Joe: "You don't want to know, son. It's an unmitigated disaster or I should say Obama is an unmitigated disaster."
Dan: "What do you mean? I hear all the time from my professors that the Bush recession is about to end."
Joe: "What kind of weed have your professors been smoking? The Bush recession...it's now the Obama recession. He owns it lock, stock, and barrel. The stimulus package that Obama ramrodded through Congress isn't worth the paper its written on. Unemployment is over 10%-more like 15% I hear. Son, quite frankly, I'm beside myself-your mom has just told me we have to lay off half of our staff-we're barely breaking even these days. Inventories are rising. And then there's this Obamacare monstrosity...I'm sorry, I know its Thanksgiving, but what am I supposed to give thanks for--that Obama is putting me our of business, that I might not be able to support my family any longer."
Dan: "Mom, isn't there anything that can be done?"
Martha: "Not right now. There's talk in December that Obama's going to hold an economic summit to get America back to work and the economy up and running again. And you know Obama's got all those czars with the Ivy League pedigree and degrees up the ying-yang. Then of course there's all the money we owe to China."
Joe: "I heard Rush (Limbaugh) talk about that the other day. He's going to hold his own summit that day--only the unemployed are allowed to call in..."
Laura: "Daddy, you don't still listen to Rush Limbaugh, do you? A student brought up his name in class one day and he was sent to the principal's office and threatened with expulsion."
Dan: "You're kidding, right."
Laura: "Perhaps he wouldn't have been expelled but it was in history class. Jonathan, you know him Dan, his dad's a dinosaur in the Republican party, still calls himself a Reagan conservative, well Jon gets up in class to challenge our teacher Mr. Gore on the concept of manmade global warming claiming that it was all a hoax because Rush said it was. Boy did Mr. Gore's face turn red and purple and shades of green; he was got flustered and then became absolutely livid when Jon kept going on about Rush; the guy actually went beserk and off the deep end."
Dan: "I guess he hasn't read the Constitution about free speech. One of those 'living and breathing types' I've been learning about in my political science class. The campus is full of them. To them, Obama is like some god-I know he is called the Anointed One (everyone around the table laughs)...but nobody, especially the President, I know this sounds naive, has the right to ignore or bypass the Constitution."
Rebecca: "Dan, excuse me for butting in, but Obama doesn't care what you think, what I think or what anyone thinks. I watch Fox News everyday All he thinks about is himself. It's always I, I did this, I want that. Martha, you voted for him didn't you?"
Martha: Sheepishly she admits, "Yes I did. But [...]

Rebecca: "Laura, how old is your teacher."
Laura: "About 25, I guess. She keeps telling us that we have nothing to worry about with Obamacare. It's like we're out of step with the rest of the world."
Rebecca: "Laura, excuse my French by your teacher is full of bullcrap. Sarah Palin laid it out on her Facebook."
Martha: "I didn't know that you were surfing the net, mother."
Rebecca: "Well, it took me a while to figure out how to work the darn thing (computer)--i know Joe and Dan tried to show me--but I finally figured it out on my own and stumbled across a web site called conservatives4palin."
Joe: "Mother, good heavens, you haven't become, i think the word is a Palinista, have you?"
Rebecca: "You betcha! She's the only one that makes common sense these days. All this crazines in the world--Obama bowing to the Emperor of Japan--doesn't he know the history--I lost two brothers fighting the Japanese and so did others lose brothers, fathers, uncles and sons. How disgusting? Look, I don't hate the Japanese-but some things don't go away. I'm sorry. But Palin is the only person, at least politician in America wiling to stand up to Obama and tell him not only that he is wrong but what he is doing is immoral. I don't care what the damn media says about Sarah Palin, the Couric interview, everyone has a bad day once in awhile, it was like she robbed a bank, Tina Fey, that bastard Letterman--they can all jump off the nearest bridge as far as I'm concerned."
Dan: "But grandma, she resigned in disgrace, didn't she? How can she ever be President?"
Rebecca: Hey, Dan that lady has more guts and I think I heard it on Hannity's program-more cajones than all the GOP male members of Congress put together. Dan. quitters don't put themselves up in the line of fire so they can be criticized everyday, quitters don't challenge a sitting president and risk ridicule from members of her own party and quitters don't attract the crowds that she does-have you been paying attention to the Going Rogue tour? No what quitters do is slink into a corner, abandon their post or become too cowed to ever engage the enemy again."
Martha: "But regardless mother, Obama's in till 2012, Palin or no Palin."
Rebecca: "Well Martha i'd rather go down fighting for America with Palin than to bow down to that impostor in the White House and his radical czars and that witch Nancy Pelosi and that ghoul Harry Reid."
Laura: "You're not thinking about joining the Tea Pary movement, are you?"
Rebecca: "I'm already a member. I just haven't gone to any meetings yet."
Joe: "Regardless we can't do anything about Obama until 2010."
Martha: "I know that I won't be voting Democrat in 2010."
Dan: "But even if the opposition mobilizes Obama still has ACORN. He'll rig the election."
Joe: "Then we'll have to win by substantial margins in every race-ACORN only works in squeakers like that Al Franken debacle. I gave up on the GOP years ago, elitists, RINO's, but talking like I am now-I'm going to get back my GOP membership, but this time I'm not going to settle for RINO's-only conservatives get my vote in the primary-i agree with Beck. Democrat Lite isn't going to get our country back."
Rebecca: "Are you going to back Palin, Joe?"
Joe: Not for now. But I'm going to keep a close eye on her progress. I've also got my eye on Huckabee and Romney. Anybody would be better now than that 'joker' in the White House. Honestly, I don't know if Palin can overcome the quitter tag. She'll get pounded with that to kingdom come, I fear. But I haven't given up on her; I leaning to her now but I'm not quite there yet. She has tremendous potential. I remember Reagan and how he stirred the folks in the heartland. She has the same qualities. But I can't quite figure her out; she's a little peculiar. She's like a fish out of water; she should have been born in the 19th or early 20th century."
Laura: "I have a confession to make. I've been also going to conservatives4palin for awhile now in the public library and reading the posts. You wouldn't believe what there is there. There's this woman Robin who writes an article on rape, how liberal men are absolute pigs towards women and why so many women consider the Democratic party a safe harbor. Then there's this woman Anita; she was a confirmed Palin hater and basher, a diehard lib but unbelievably as you like to say dad she saw the light on the road to Damascus and has become a conservative. I 'm going to see Palin in a couple of weeks when she stops by on her tour; I'll be one of those that camp out all night to be first in line for the book signing; dad, mom, that's all right isn't it?"
Joe and Martha nod.
Dan: "Get her to sign a book for me as well. I want to carry the book around with me on campus; it will drive my liberal profs absolutely crazy and insane when they see me reading it."
Joe: "You know I felt really down in the dumps before I sat down tonight. I don't any more."
Martha: "So did I. It's like the Yeat's poem I learned in school-I can't remember its name about anarchy ruling the world and everything falling apart, the center cannot hold...it's easy to forget that we are Americans."
Rebecca: "And never forget that after I'm gone. And never forget what you are fighting for is not only for my God-given right to live and die on my own terms but also your right and your childrens' right to do the same thing as well. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
Dan: "Grandma, not until tonight did I really understand what it means to be an American. I promise you grandma I'm not going to let Obama and his merry men and women take my country and my freedoms from me. Whatever it takes, whatever it takes..."
Rebecca: "Before we leave this table let's all pray for Sarah Palin. She'll need them more than ever. She's about to go into the belly of the beast. May God watch over her always."
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! As I drove the hour and a half to my parents' last night, I decided to spend the last 30 minutes of the drive in a prayer (with my eyes open of course) of Thanksgiving, I got to my parents' house and wasn't done praying. That's when I really recognized and was humbled by God's blessings. I am very thanksful.
Happy Turkey Day to ALL.. God Bless! Get to see my Great Nephew for his first Thanksgiving!! Does not get much better than that! Kiss your Dog and Kick Your Family! Happy Gobble Day....!!!! Mamma Mia! It's the Holiday Season!
Let us be thankful!! After spending time celebrating with family, have them gather round the computer for SOME MAJOR LAUGHS!!! Go to Minnesotans for Global Warming M4GW.com Rush played a portion of one of thier videos on his show yesterday "Hide The Decline" they have other Hilarious videos like "Imagine there's no Global warming" parody of Lennon's Imagine" And many others!!
May I please remind people on our C4P Palin site that Mrs. Palin has a special connection to the first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, MA, in that she has an amazing 5 ancestors who were on The Mayflower and would have been at the feast?
I'm very concerned about a third party. Right now Obama is slipping and he has angered enough people. But a third party candidate like Lou Dobbs could ruin everything. Sarah could run a flawless campaign, do everything right to win over independents and even the MSM, beats Obama in a two-way race, and still lose if someone like Dobbs comes along and takes a few percentage points away from her.
I want to wisah everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I just ran/walked 3 miles, this morning, so I could burn of some calories before dinner. ;^) Three more days until I see Sarah (hopefully).
The poll showing 12% for Lou Dobbs really got me worried. If he only gets 6% I'll breathe a little easier. If Sarah runs and wins the GOP nom, she'll just have to win over moderate Dems as well as independents, she can't just count on the traditional GOP leaning voters because some of them may go with Dobbs. And she'll need the WOMEN's votes more than ever. There will be no free lunch for Sarah. She'll have to go above and beyond to get votes wherever she can.
I read that Dobbs's spokesman is downplaying the POTUS run, saying that he'll need to win the senate seat first before considering POTUS. Maybe we need to make sure Dobbs doesn't win the senate.
Democracy Corps did a poll recently of Romney, Obama, Nader and and Dobbs. Here are the results:
Obama 45 Romney 38 Dobbs 5 Nader 4
NB: There will be third party candidates as there was last election and all past elections. Sarah will have to earn the victory. Nothing will be handed to her.
Happy Thanksgiving to Sarah and her family, to all you wonderful c4p Barbarians and your families, and especially, to all our military folks, wherever they may be!
This is the kind of tidbit that has to be disseminated. This is similar to Palin having a higher security clearance due to her position as Governor of Alaska. The first would have thrown the elitists a bone. And the second would have dismissed the notion that she wasn't conversant on the concept of missile defense and national security in general.
I doubt Nader will run again. How old is he now? Even if he's not tired of running, people are tired of him. If someone like him comes along and takes votes away from Obama, I'm all for it. How did Dobbs get 12% in the Rasmunssen poll when this one has him at 5%? Who is Rasmunssen working for? It seems to me someone is stirring things up by trying to "legitimize" Lou Dobbs. I find it hard to believe Dobbs would get 12% right off the bat. I know he's famous from being on CNN, but still...POTUS?
Let me give you the lowdown on Rasmussen. First he was regarded as the most accurate pollster in the 2008 election so that give him some credibility in my eyes. But as this not an election season he can try to create a narrative in his polls. Pollsters keep in contact with each other (Rasmussen knows Zogby very well) so he must have known that Democracy Corps was coming out with a poll that included Dobbs. But people of the right are going to dismiss it (DC is Carville's polling outfit). So he comes out with his version but also includes Palin and Huckabee and does 2 separate polls with Dobbs and without Dobbs.
The most important two numbers that came out of this poll:
Obama 46%
Palin 43%
The people on the right no longer can claim legitimately that Palin is unelectable or too divisive. And if you followed my posts for several months you know this is the only real hurdle that Sarah has to overcome, LEGITIMACY: when you are a superstar with charisma, mega-fundraising ability and superb eloquence that will take you the rest of the way.
Let me however issue a caution. Palin has not dealt with the quitting meme satisfactorily enough yet. She IMHO will not reach full LEGITIMIZATION until she does so.
Survey USA just posted some state approval/disapproval numbers for Obama. I'm not going to bore you will all of them but here are two significant results:
It still doesn't explain how Dobbs got 12%. If we're supposed to feel good about the 46 vs. 43 in the Obama/Palin matchup, then we can't totally dismiss the Dobbs numbers done by the same polling firm. Unless we're saying Rasmussen purposely fudged the Dobbs numbers to stir things up.
DC gave Dobbs 5%. Believe me I don't dismiss any poll result but the upshot of the poll is the news that Palin is within the margin of error of the Messiah. Remember the polls that showed Obama beating Palin by 15-20 points. They are no more.
Don't discount this news for one second. Obama: 46%. That's 7 points off his vote count in Nov 2008. That's significant.
In sporting terms we now have a ball game. Obama is not a certainty to win re-election now but he is not a certainty to lose either. Think back several months ago when folks like John Ziegler were basically saying that Obama was a shoo-in for re-election. I think even he would admit that the possibility does exist that Obama may go down to defeat in 2012. That is a huge deal KeeleyH. Don't forget Obama looked invincible even 3-4 months ago.
I found this gem at the Volokh conspiracy. In my mind it clearly shows the contrast between Sarah's vission of America, and Obama's vision of America, something I tought had already been defined by the time of our first Thanksgiving:
Today is Thanksgiving. And there is no better time to remember an underappreciated lesson of the original Thanksgiving: that the Pilgrims nearly starved to death because of collectivism and eventually saved themselves by adopting a system of private property. Economist Benjamin Powell tells the story here: Many people believe that after suffering through a severe winter, the Pilgrims’ food shortages were resolved the following spring when the Native Americans taught them to plant corn and a Thanksgiving celebration resulted. In fact, the pilgrims continued to face chronic food shortages for three years until the harvest of 1623. Bad weather or lack of farming knowledge did not cause the pilgrims’ shortages. Bad economic incentives did. In 1620 Plymouth Plantation was founded with a system of communal property rights. Food and supplies were held in common and then distributed based on equality and need as determined by Plantation officials. People received the same rations whether or not they contributed to producing the food, and residents were forbidden from producing their own food. Governor William Bradford, in his 1647 history, Of Plymouth Plantation, wrote that this system was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. The problem was that young men, that were most able and fit for labour, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense. Because of the poor incentives, little food was produced. Faced with potential starvation in the spring of 1623, the colony decided to implement a new economic system. Every family was assigned a private parcel of land. They could then keep all they grew for themselves, but now they alone were responsible for feeding themselves. While not a complete private property system, the move away from communal ownership had dramatic results. This change, Bradford wrote, had very good success, for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been. Giving people economic incentives changed their behavior. Once the new system of property rights was in place, the women now went willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to set corn; which before would allege weakness and inability. Once the Pilgrims in the Plymouth Plantation abandoned their communal economic system and adopted one with greater individual property rights, they never again faced the starvation and food shortages of the first three years. It was only after allowing greater property rights that they could feast without worrying that famine was just around the corner. For a more detailed account, see this 1999 article by Tom Bethell. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
This is also Rush's Story of Thanksgiving that he reads every Thanksgiving. He did it yesterday, too. I am so glad that it is getting out there. There is a new rebirth of freedom going on these days. I guess we can thank Obama for that. The Tree of Liberty needs refreshing every so often according to TJ. Something to be thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving.
Well done, Techno. Now we need to produce it as a play. Ha!!!
It's so ironic that so many people see Sarah as the enemy. Fortunately, she's turning it around. It's almost as if she's swept up in a historical movement, a wave.
I draw comparisons betwen this new Tea Party movement and the 60s protesters. My thinking is that it took the 60s radicals 40 years to gain control of every lever of government.
How long will it take THIS movement to sweep to power? In my most realistic, somber view I see this as a long-term cultural struggle against deeply entrenched "norms" that have set in over the last 40 years. This is a battle to "reset" minds, to overturn political correctness, and a political machine that has taken power away from the people.
I hope that Sarah can catalyze this movement, and hasten the "revolution" that needs to take place. It's not gonna be easy ...
And if Sarah were Obama, she would have mentioned both of these facts ad nauseum. Thank God she doesn't feel the need to boast continually. I said ahwile back that the reason Sarah doesn't talk about her security clearances and missile defense experience is because it may well be classified, and certainly not something that a responsible public servant goes around bragging about.
Well he's the first black president to celebrate halftime of the Thanksgiving football game. And in a few short weeks, he'll be the first black president to celebrate college bowl season. And then he'll be the first black president to ring in the New Year in the White House.
And then he'll begin his second year in office ...
And since there will be no more "firsts" it'll be downhill from there!
Actually, that is the first 1/2 white, 1/4 Arab, 1/4 Black President. Why people keep calling him "Black" I will never understand.....in fact, it is RACIST to call a "quadroon" black! ;-)

A THANKSGIVING POEM FOR OUR MEN AND WOMEN AT ARMS

All these years later, you're still there.
Sacrificing your comfort and safety where
Most of us would dare to tread,
Still sending home you honored dead,
While we, reassured, revel at the feast
With loved ones. Crisp napkins creased
On decorative tables, groaning boards
Of turkeys and berries and bright colored gourds.
As we at home enjoy this abundant good living,
Our hearts are far away with you this Thanksgiving.
THANKS AND GOD BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Funny stuff, but scary too. We need to continue to rage against the GW bs. More scientists are bailing on it now that REAL numbers are coming in.
Reagan ran against John Anderson who garnered 6.6% of the vote. If Reagan can overcome it, Palin will have to as well,
I want to wisah everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I just ran/walked 3 miles, this morning, so I could burn of some calories before dinner. ;^) Three more days until I see Sarah (hopefully).
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Three days until I hopefully meet Sarah. :^D
Obama 45
Romney 38
Dobbs 5
Nader 4
NB: There will be third party candidates as there was last election and all past elections. Sarah will have to earn the victory. Nothing will be handed to her.
Also you have to always bear in mind that George Soros is capable of anything. Hiring a stalking horse for Obama would be par for the course.
Worth a look, and a listen. <span>http://www.blackfive.net/main/2009/11/pushback.html#comments</span>
Happy Thanksgiving to Sarah and her family, to all you wonderful c4p Barbarians and your families, and especially, to all our military folks, wherever they may be!

A great post from promachus at HA today:
"It begins. This is why they were so afraid of Palin. Now the dam has broke and there's no containing the deluge."
(referring to 2 housewives deciding to run for office because of the example of Sarah Palin)
5 ancestors on the Mayflower?! Wow she beats all those Boston Brahmin elitists at their own game.
I just got home from the 5k run with Sarah this morning. Photos will be available in a bit.
I still don't understand why the RNC did not buy any of Sarah Palin books as part of fundraising and getting new members.
Some humor from Ronald Reagan:
from uncbob of FR:
When President Reagan was told Clint Eastwood had been elected as mayor of Carmel CA, he said
"I admit I never thought I would see the day when an actor that co-stared with a monkey would make it in politics."
Gotta love the Gipper
(for you younger folks Reagan appeared in a movie called Bedtime for Bonzo, with a chimp playing his co-star)
How do you know that they didn't?
Virginia: 37/60
Obama won Virginia in 2008
Missouri: 38/58
McCain only won MO. by about 20,000 votes.

Clarence Page is Leftist hack of the first order closely tied to Obama. From his article today here is the new meme the Obama war room is trying out:
Sarah Palin is Howard Beale, the crazy news anchor of the movie Network in 1976 who said, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."
Here is a story that Sarah can feast on her Facebook:
Obama's Science Czar John Holdren Involved in Climategate Scandal
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2395048/posts
As a follow-up to the above post the Greenpeace Leader admits Arctic Ice Exaggeration (Arctic Ice would disappear by 2030 was 'a mistake')
KeeleyH:
From the I can believe it category:Courtesy of Big Government:
ACORN member Roseanne Barr confirmed that ACORN "got Obama elected."

Economist Benjamin Powell tells the story here:
Many people believe that after suffering through a severe winter, the Pilgrims’ food shortages were resolved the following spring when the Native Americans taught them to plant corn and a Thanksgiving celebration resulted.
First sane thing to come out of that woman's mouth in like..EVER..well DUH, we all know ACORN got Obama elected..
Cruela,
Thinking we're gonna get a win today!:)

Good job with the photos, Neo! The Guv is sparkling! Thanks!
Drill, Baby, Drill ... Don't you just feel it coming????
Well he's the first black president to celebrate halftime of the Thanksgiving football game. And in a few short weeks, he'll be the first black president to celebrate college bowl season. And then he'll be the first black president to ring in the New Year in the White House.
And then he'll begin his second year in office ...
And since there will be no more "firsts" it'll be downhill from there!
The governors did.
Actually, that is the first 1/2 white, 1/4 Arab, 1/4 Black President. Why people keep calling him "Black" I will never understand.....in fact, it is RACIST to call a "quadroon" black! ;-)
