Good Morning All,
Sarah words have away of lifting you up.
Good Morning...
'CUDA....2012!
No matter what the MSM says, the GOP knows Hoffman was an unknown candidate, likely to get a small % of the vote. Then Palin wrote a FB post and all heck broke loose. This gives her immense power in the party to affect change, be a leader and position herself for 2012 even more if she wants it.
Hoffman is a shoe in for the GOP nomination next year, and will win. Again, the GOP knows Palin gives him that clout. Just like she postioned Parnell in AK, she has postioned Hoffman in 2010 as well.
Obama had much more skin in the game than Palin. She wrote one FB post. He spent lots of YOUR money going to NY, NJ and Virginia. Palin spent $0 of your money.
This strong showing for Hoffman makes it clear who the leader is of the GOP and who has the power. Sarah is the 'Cuda, this is another dead body piled up with her tag on it.
The Dems in Congress saw how blue disticts went red last night, this will make them worry even more about their fate next year and make them more Blue Dog than ever. Frankly, that is very important. In 2012 when Palin is running in the primaries and the general for POTUS, when people go behind the curtain they will be thinking NOTHING of the NY23 race last night. Instead, they will be thinking about the bad economy, the high debt, their lost job, big government. So this Hoffman loss will not hurt Sarah, but it WILL help to keep the BLue Dogs united to fight DeathCare, Cap and Tax and more stimulus spending. That is what I care about now, and why this is, even in defeat, a victory.
We must keep our objective in focus. Defeat DeathCare, Cap and Tax and other big government socialist programs, THEN we can focus on 2010 (actually 2010 is tied heavily with DeathCare etc.), THEN 2012.
A year a go I would have bet the Dems would have swept these races and won handily. Look what happened, in just one year!
Gibb's reported last night...that O'blabla... wouldn't Be watching the returns...
Hey O'blabla!....You can be Guaranteed...Your Dim's in office...Watched and HEARD... the "Message" Loud and Clear!
Hoffman was definitely a victory, even though he didn't win. I do believe if Dede would have stayed in the race, he would have one by 3-4%. i'm really getting sick of the "moderates" stating we need to plug our nose and vote for them; but when it comes to them walking the talk, they bail out and go and vote for the democrate. It's just plain ridiculous.
It was a big night for republicans. Rove said their were state house races in PA and other places where republicans replaced dems. The fringe media won't mention any of those races.
It was a big night for republicans. Republicans picked up state house seats in PA and other states. The fringe media won't mention any of those races.
I know we're all a little bit bummed over the election results, but we knew 2 weeks ago that it could turn out this way. Gov. Palin stood on principle while others dithered, she lead and others followed. Like she said, the cause goes on.
In the mean time, we have her upcoming book tour, and lots of interviews to look forward to, including the Right to Life event in WI on Friday.
Here's a story about big ticket sales for the Salina Chamber of Commerce event:
http://www.salina.com/news/story/palin-11-3-09
Going Rogue update:
it is #53 best seller of the year at B&N, up from 86 a couple of weeks ago, and is the ONLY pre-release book in the top 100 sellers of the year. Currently it is #15 at BN, probably because amazon, Target and WalMart are selling it much cheaper.
it is #3 in ALL books at Amazon, it held the #2 slot for most of the last 2 weeks.
it is #3 at WalMart
it is #3 at Target
it is #1 in non-fiction at Books a Million.
As you can see, Going Rogue is still very much in position to be a mega bestseller, the upcoming book signing tour, and interviews, you can bet that sales will go through the roof.
For the conservative movement, the Hoffman defeat could be looked at in similar terms as the First Battle of Bull Run in which the Northern forces were bent on marching on Richmond at the beginning of the Civil war (to make the GOP more conservative-oriented) only to be met by superior Confederate forces who routed the Union army and in turn militarily perhaps posed a threat afterwards to the safety and security of Washington, DC (the credibility of the conservative movement as viable).
As the threat to Washington never materialized, the conservative movement is also alive and well, a going concern, and we should never lose sight of that fact despite the setback with not getting Hoffman across the finish line. There will be future battles to fight and win.
By the way I seem to remember that although the North lost the battle, it did eventually make improvements in its military engagements and strategy and eventually did win the war.
For the conservative movement I presage a similar fate in the 2010 midterms and beyond that if it can learn from its "Bull Run".
Regarding the Guv's book tour.
I don't mean to brag but I CALLED IT.
I said I thought the Guv would go to smaller markets to do book signings and not the NYC etc. I can't believe I actually called something. :0
I just want to let the Guv know that we have really nice weather here all winter long that is great for running. Also, I can make some awesome enchiladas and taco soup for her and her travel group.
BEAUMONT, Baby, BEAUMONT!!!!!!!!!!!
You have no idea how excited I am for her to start her book tour. This Friday baby, Wisconsin :) WOO! I still think she should come to Rochester, Minnesota, sign some books, and then meet with some Mayo Clinic physicians to talk about health care reform. Now THAT would be pretty awesome!!! It would definitely make news and I think would be a great experience for her.
Hoffman was close enough .
The RNC is all McClellans, the fact that they spent a cool mill on Scozzo, still makes me spit. Grant and even Sherman, didn't carry every battle, but they did have an ultimate objective.
With my Francis Marion analogies, Marion was repulsed at Georgetown (arguably his first non-guerilla battle) but went on and won other Battles. Francis Marion came more out in the open, actually attacking British Garrisons. Expect with the book tour more of this from Sarah.
Sorry guys I was hoping for a Kings Mountain but I got a Georgetown yesterday. Guess I should have hedged it some.
Oh and PPP needs to call it quits.
It will be interesting to see Sarah's schedule for the book tour and the dates of her various interviews. I hope Greta, Beck, Tammy Bruce, Mark Levin, and Rush are ahead of Bill O'Reilly. I watch BOR sometimes, but his ego is getting to me.
I'm still laughing about Jake Tapper's tweet about "the biggest loser" LOL!
Don't you mean "War of Northern Aggression"?
"Success has many fathers but defeat is an orphan but in this case the Hoffman defeat IMHO has many father and here are 11 reasons why Hoffman may have lost:
1) Hoffman himself. He is like a journeyman backup QB with an adequate throwing arm (lack of charisma) brought into the game after the first-string QB is sat down by the coach for non-performance (Dede being a extreme left-wing Republican), who inherits a solid offensive line (endorsements by prominent Republicans and exponential increasing fundraising) and who is given the task of bringing his team back from a ten point deficit with only 5 minutes left in the game.
Despite the handicap, Hoffman performs admirably and with 3 minutes left in the game he orchestrates a TD drive. He is now behind by only 3 points. Then his team kicks onside and recovers the ball and then scores another TD with only 72 seconds left on the clock and leads by 4 points (the Siena poll on the weekend) that portends a future victory.
The opposition then calls a timeout (Dede's suspension of her campaign and her subsequent endorsement of Owens) to collect its thoughts to prepare for its one last chance to salvage the game. After getting the ball on the kickoff Owens proceeds to march the ball down the field on a last minute drive helped considerably by a pass interference penalty on a long passing play (ACORN, SEIU, volunteers from Vermont to GOTV, Obama's offer to Dede which she could not refuse and subsequent robo-calls on behalf of Owens) and an inadequate defense (Hoffman being a first-time candidate, lack of talent or experience among his staff, the overwhelming force of the combined pool of talent of Owens with Dede's troops). Owens with 10 seconds left on the clock manages to punch the ball over the goal line and Hoffman's team loses by a field goal. I would not surprised when it is all said and done that Hoffman ends up losing by 3-4%.
2) Dede proving to being a traitor and endorsing Owens which allowed Owens to recover from body blows and jolts delivered to his campaign by Hoffman's surge after the Palin endorsement and the polls that showed Hoffman neck and neck with him. You could look at Dede's endorsement and the obvious transfer of loyalty from some of her supporters to Owens as needed reinforcements that allowed Owens on the weekend to regroup and regain his bearings and eventually pull out the victory at the end. We must never forget that Owens was always polling very well even before the Hoffman surge. Owen's win was not a major upset.
3) The $900,000 spent by the GOP to bolster Dede's campaign definitely allowed her to stay in the race longer than she might have. If Dede had bowed out let's say with 7-8 days left to go in the campaign rather than on Satruday that could have given Hoffman perhaps more time for Republicans who had originally supported Dede to transfer their loyalty to him. The GOP bears some responsibility for Hoffman's defeat.
4) If you gave the RNC, the NRCC, and the local district 23 GOP establishment truth serum its members would reveal they did not want Hoffman to win in order to save face and to prevent Sarah Palin from gaining more credibility going forth towards the primaries and 2010 midterms and using it to transform the GOP into a more conservative organization. By not backing Hoffman until near the end they made it harder for him to prevail.
5) Unlike some people who give Obama credit for his charisma and his ability to relate to voters personally, I believe Obama (from his days as a community organizer), his team and allies (ACORN, SEIU) are more dangerous when they can work behind the scenes, insidiously, to change the lay of the political land by its use of dirty tricks or skullduggery. Of course by buying off Dede, [...]

I'm down for Beaumont. Lipstick, I want to meet you when the Good Guv comes to TX, ok?
Good morning, good day, intrepid barbarians. God bless.
"The cause goes on."
A trifecta would have been nice, but conservatives made the necessary statement even if Hoffman didn't quite win. 2010 is just around the corner, and Sarah's influence is still growing.
9) Owens simply had a better GOTV apparatus than Hoffman because he had the full backing of the Democratic party and the unions. Hoffman had to virtually start from scratch.
10)Rush Limbaugh's crack about Dede and BESTIALITY; Hoffman was put on the defensive when he had to defend Dede against Rush.
11) And the absentee ballots that were sent in prior to the Palin endorsement of Hoffman or Dede's suspension of her campaign
Mel,
Incredible photo. It is reallly wonderful, thank you. Great way to start the morning!
I stiil want to be like Mia, when I grow up!:)
Good morning! Guys, I'm so tired. Following politics, C4P, and other political blogs has severely affected my sleep in the past year, especially since Gov. Palin started writing those darm Facebook posts.
I blame Sarah.
Springfield, IL--The Old State Capitol building, where Obama announced his candidacy, would be a great venue! ;)
Steyn as usual calls it right:http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YTg5NGFmZjQ1ODUyMTk3ZTFmODQ1Y2QzY2Q1M2E3Mjc=

I do like the analogy, although I think The conservatives, if the polls are right, have a clear edge in numbers. As did the yankees. It's all about bringing those resouces to bear. Tactically, Sarah Palin is the Jackson of the day, and as more and more come to realize that we've been takin' a lot of s*&t from bullies and that we don't have to, the numbers will crush them, as Grant crushed us. (Here in Virginia) So I dearly desire.
Agree. I think the 3 killers were 1) He didn't know about a couple of major issues within the Watertown/ St Lawrence areas. Folks this was huge and was worth a few percentage points.
2) Asks Saxby Chambliss in special elections why you want Sarah. Chambliss was suppose to win by 4-8% and won by like 14%. The key was Sarah came and rallied the base. Doesn't sound big? Check the # of indiviuals that voted this time vs in 2008. A good 50-70 Thousand stayed at home. If Sarah gets 5-10 thousand more rallied to vote. 3) Hofman knew nothing about politics. Reality of the situation is you can spend a lot of time and effort doing nothing. Not knowing the lay of the grounds and how to campaign Hoffman spent a lot of time spinning his wheels likely on wasted efforts. I think what the RS McCains, SAPWOLF, Team Sarah and others that went there need to do is what the military calls an After Action Report. What went right and we need to sustain and what went wrong to improve next time.
For Rush unless it is a hardened Dem he needs to lay off the personal attacks. This will eventually help Sarah when the Begala's, Carville's and crew dont stop. People want issues.
I always enjoy your carefully thought out posts. I'm the kind of guy who simply thinks he didn't get enough people to feel good about voting for him.
Number 5. Crooks do their best work under cover of darkness.
Lipstick, Thanks
You are right on, Sarah's principled endorsement was powerful on many levels!
Im STILL a committed COMMON SENSE CONSERVATIVE--PALIN AMERICAN!... will never go back to Democrat Republicanism.
Outstanding analysis techno!
Sarah also backed Christie and McDonnell. Winning 2 out of 3 is darn good! Those races were more important because they were very high profile and Obama personally campaigned in them. Christie and McDonnell's wins were shockers and defied the pundits and talking heads who had declared the GOP dead last year. Christie and McDonnell prove that if you run a good, organized campaign and have a focused message then you can win as a Conservative even in a blue state. Those wins were Huge Blows to Obama (even many MSM outlets are acknowledging this grudgingly).
Owens is not notable and will be just one of many Democrats in the House. I also heard he campaigned against the public option. No one will be talking much about Owens going forward. Better to have a Blue Dog Dem win than a traitorous Rep like Dede.
Hoffman left a lot to be desired as a candidate and had to fight against too many odds. If he can get his act together, he can have a future in politics.
The MSM can talk about the GOP infighting all day. It still does not cover up the fact that Obama did not help in VA and NJ. This will be prime discussion on the Sunday morning talk shows.
IMHO here the good things that came out of the Hoffman campaign or learned from this episode:
1) "Grassroots" conservatives now have their sea legs; by being in engaged in actual race it provided them needed experience that will serve them well as we approach the 2010 midterms.
2) Sarah Palin, whatever you say about her, is a woman of principle. If you reject her, it is not because she is wishy-washy. If you embrace her and become a Palin supporter you know that she will not vacillate or pander. That definitely is re-assuring when so many politicians take the expedient way out.
3) RINO's in contrast have been exposed by Dede. Rush is right that she screwed the RINO's. I just wish he hadn't used the word "bestiality".
4) Hoffman is a decent candidate but if district 23 can field someone who is conservative, male or female, with a bit more charisma or experience next time. If not, the it should stick with Hoffman.
5) Sarah Palin is a superstar. Nobody but a superstar could have turned around the fortunes of a 3rd party candidate so dramatically and added 25 percentage points to his poll total in a matter of 2 weeks. Of course the MSM or the GOP establishment will not give her any credit for this.
6) The ground or end game is crucial to victory. All the publicity, fanfare and hoopla surrounding the campaign means squat if you can't deliver the votes.
7) Conservative talk show hosts have a vital and pivotal role to play in arousing public sentiment which they do very well, but when it comes to leveraging their "power" to get somebody elected then they are not as effective.
8) No election or exit polls can be assumed to be absolutely accurate. In District 23 many voters were undecided going in (Siena polls). Unfortunately we are reminded again that marginal and apolitical voters decide elections and not political junkies.
9) The civil war that the MSM will promote in the GOP will not be as intense as it makes it out to be (many districts will nominate conservatives to run in 2010 or stay with their incumbent conservative GOP rep or Senator) but will nevertheless be present in several districts. What the MSM will claim as divisive should be promoted by the GOP as SOP and not something beyond the pale.
10) Money doesn't always decide elections but the absence of money at the beginning of a campaign does not allow your message to get into the public consciousness at the outset of the campaign and establish a comfort level with the voter. Yes Hoffman eventually got the money but I would question the level of comfort that many voters had with Hoffman as it was not long-standing relationship but kind of a "whirlwind romance".
Yeah, it's one thing to be hip, hip and broke ain't so hip.
I think the book tour will look like what her '08 campaign would have looked like if McCain's capaign people weren't a bunch of idiots.
Gov Palin will be in The Villages,Florida on Nov.24th.
The second female in American history to be selected as a vice presidential running mate will hold a book signing beginning at 4 p.m. Nov. 24 at Barnes & Noble at Lake Sumter Landing.
http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/articles/2009/11/04/news/news01.txt
Minnie Pearl told me one time that her father never referred to that conflict as the Civil War. He always called it the war between the states, because there was nothing civil about it.
Point 1 yes I agree with if we don't go cry in a corner. The grassroots did some good things and not so well. Learn what worked and use it elsewhere. What didn't work learn how to improve it. Remember this guy was 15 down on the Dem just a little over a week ago and only lost by 4 despite the other candidate endorsing the winner.
Lipstick...
Congratultions on making your call... Hopefully West Texas will make her list also, look forward to seeing the schedule... if not I love Beaumont would like to meet any C4P folks at any locations possible... TX, NMEX, OK!

11) And the absentee ballots that were sent in prior to the Palin endorsement of Hoffman or Dede's suspension of her campaign
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It will become harder and harder for last minute election victories as more states go to vote by mail (the new name for absentee ballots)
In Ny23, many votes were cast by the men and women of the 10th Mountain Division weeks ago.
My home town in Washington State had local election results 30 minutes after the polls closed last night! They started counting vote by mail in the morning and had results by 8 PM.
People may have mentioned this already. As an ex-patriot New Englander, I marveled that the description of the NY23 as conservative. This county is directly adjacent to the most liberal state in the good old USA, Vermont. I am sure many people in this district watch Burlington television nightly for their news, etc. "Conservative" might fit in the liberal Northeast but this is not a county in Montana.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is the most important factor in the Dems victory:
Lake Champlain has its own Loch Ness Monster, "Champie." I'll bet that Champie is jealous of bigfoot for the affair with Sarah and conspired to throw the election!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
... Or have I been reading C4P too long?
In a later post I compared it to the difference between a long-term relationship and a whirlwind romance.
7. Agree and disagree. If it is a strong candidate then yes Talk Radio can be huge. When the Candidate is not knowledgable on some major local issues then there are problems.
A point that the RNC, RNSC and RNCC needs ot learn is before pouring money in for somebody, know that somebody. They gave 1 million to a now self admitted Pelosi Democrat.
Deidre
Thanks for the link.. I've been waiting to see the little rascal... knew it would be short... even thought it would have been on a post card.
Me too ... Yawn.
Beaumont is close enough for me, but I'd take our local Barnes and Noble in Humble.
Isn't this the place where she got 60,000 last year?
How big is that B&N? ;)
Sarah needs to post her schedule on-line.
Never mind, the article itself says so in the photo caption. But my second question still stands!
And this is great strategy again: Palin put out the announcement about her book tour last night, and more announcements will come today, which will mitigate pundits today saying she failed in NY23. People who are inclined to defend her - there are a few out there, I think - can point to the dates for her book tour as evidence that she's still a big figure in America today ...
Always strategizing is that woman.
E4S
I take It your are somewhere close, If so, you are in for a grand time!
CPAC sent out an email listing Sarah as a speaker in 2010?!? Think this is true?
"... There's a sense of liberation here among all of you that are attending CPAC. I understand what that sense of liberation is about... The American people may not all vote the way we wish them to, but more Americans than you now live their lives as conservatives in one degree or another. And they are waiting for leadership. We need conservative leadership. We can take this country back!" -- Rush Limbaugh, CPAC 2009
Invited Speakers Include:
Amb. John Bolton, Andrew Breitbart, Ann Coulter, Gov. Mitch Daniels, Hon. Newt Gingrich, Doug Hoffman, Hon. Mike Huckabee, Gov. Bobby Jindal, David Keene, Wayne LaPierre, Rush Limbaugh, Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell, Hon. Sarah Palin, Rep. Ron Paul, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Hon. Mitt Romney, and many more!
Her post yesterday said
"we’ll be announcing the locations in the next day or two."
Hopefully today or tomorrow.
Even though NY23 went Democrat I'd rather keep the win in NJ. Anybody agree or disagree?
The key word here is "invited".
i think it is quite interesting that Maine said no to same-sex marriage. I really didn't expect that whatsoever!
You know I'm not suspicious at all, moi, but I'd like to know what was the editorial meeting where Hoffman, supposedly flunked local issues, like the St. Lawrence Waterway. It seems a little too conveniently apocryphal
without a link
First. Folks we are beating ourselves up too hard. The media is more about the 2 big elections. Obama loss huge there. NY 23 results were similar to Obama in '08. With all the circumstances not a bad showing. Sarah uses very little capital in this. Did she go to NY-23? No. Did she robocall? Not that I heard. Obama campaigned just a week ago in Virginia and New Jersey over the entire weekend. Obama's policies were trounced in Virginia 18 point loss and in the Blue State of New Jersey 4 point loss Obama (Huge loss to Obama). Going into last night if I was told there were 2, 4 point wins I would have said Hoffman/Corzine. But the reverse is way better. Think about it. The New York House seat is one year (heck they are already campaigning). The other two are Statewide offices that we now have blueprints for winning. If these 2 Repubs get the economies going in their States they quickly come into play on election day. Big picture people big picture.
Yes. We now have NJ for 4 years for sure. NY is only a year before there is another special election.
Agree. The media was playing this as a sure thing for same sex marriage. Notice no Nationwide Politicians hopped in that ball of wax.
9 The further erosion of the influence and credibility of newspapers and msm tv is clearly demonstrated by the results.
Ya mean if they suck, they just plain suck?
More information on the book tour.
Palin book tour to start Nov. 18
NEW YORK — Oprah Winfrey is only the beginning for Sarah Palin’s book tour.
Starting Nov. 18, the day after Palin’s “Going Rogue” is released and two days after she is interviewed by Winfrey, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate will make appearances around the country, from a Barnes & Noble store in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the Army post in Fort Bragg, N.C.
HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Wednesday that the tour will run through at least Dec. 6, and that Palin will travel for part of it by bus. “Going Rogue” has an announced first printing of 1.5 million copies and has been at or near the top of Amazon.com’s best-seller list for weeks.
This is awesome. She's touring by bus.

Good AM...Nancy!....Tomorrow is the last day... of this Hypocrisy....;)
I don't know what to say...I'm...I'm...I'm...Speechless!
Nancy.... is the BEST!!!!
Oh the race that some people said watch that showed promise was CA-10 was only a 10 point loss. This is commonly a 15-20 point loss.
latinchic: Oh yes. If the Guv does a "Beaumont, Baby, Beaumont" we will indeed meet. Thank goodness Mia et al won't be there so we won't get thrown out for being to rowdy! I am sure us East Texan C4Per's could manage to be in a group and keep it low key enough as to not draw the attention of security. ;) I am actually very quiet and subdued in person.....seriously.
Hal: You are in "hUmble". Do you hate it when people pronounce the "H"? My sister lives in Tombal. If the Guv is only over that way I can hear my sister's couch calling me........
Sarah did not campaign in NY. She did not cut any TV commercials for any candidate and the candidate she endorsed lost in a minor ONE YEAR election with 3 candidates on the ballot and under very strange conditions. This is really no big deal. NOW LOOK AT WHAT OBAMA DID.
OBAMA actually campaigned several times including Biden in major politico areas that he had won my a large majority a year ago. The loss in these major areas was not just the Govs position but
candidates further down on the ballot. THIS IS A MAJOR LOSS FOR OBAMA AND THE DEMS.
Hold your head high I know Sarah is doing just that. This is just a little rut in the road.
Ask anyone would you rather be in Palin's position this morning or Obama????
It's interesting I'm looking over the questionaire and Owens doesn't really have an answer, to the St. Lawrence waterway question, he's for cap n trade, I hope the people in his district keep their tires inflated. Dede was against
but didn't really have an argument
They learned their lesson. I still hope she doesn't go ...
Much better to keep lining up Chambers of Commerce.

Me either.
hoffman would have won if that rino was not on the ballot.
Governor Palin quoted President Reagan last night in her Facebook post.
She could have just as easily quoted Margaret Thatcher:
"Some times you have to fight a battle more than once to win it".
For the conservative movement, this is just the beginning.
Ciao Bello.......
Awesome.
Good grief! Is the Guv gonna be in the lower 48 for Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is the 26th. I suppose she would high tail it home after this signing. Can't see her being out of AK for Thanksgiving, but she may be doing something the day after Thanksgiving=BIG shopping day. Gotta bring home the bacon I suppose.
Reporting in on Washington State races for the benefit of all of you:
As part of the continued effort to cheer you up, may I report to you that the conservatives in Washington held their own or did well? Seattle moved a few steps closer to seeking an annexation by Russia. But we can not stop that.
Elsewhere in the state, conservatives seem to have done well.
The three open state house seats were won by the GOP. There was a strong turn out here in the central basin of the state, which, IMHO, indicates the growing discontent of the right wing of the party.
Go Sarah Go!!!
She's also going to the army post in Fort Bragg NC. This woman loves the military.
I don't think this Russia, would want to take it, Gelston, they may not be democrats but they are not idiots
hi Deidre: What was that tweet?
If anyone is interested, I wrote two new LOTUS posts last night
www.thelotuslaptopoftheunitedstates.blogspot.com
AWESOME!! By bus?????? R U Serious!!!! This woman is doing a dry campaign run.....Sarah Style!!!!!! The mob in fly over country is going to go nuts (me included). C4P, we need to have a map on the front page showing where Sarah has been and where she is going next. A "Sarah Tracker".
By Bus! I would have never guessed that. She is so outside the box. Could you see some RINO or Obama doing a book tour via bus? NOOOOOOO. They save the "I'm one of you" front for campaigning. Not the 'Cuda!!!!
IF anyone is interested, I wrote 2 new LOTUS posts last night:
www.thelotuslaptopoftheunitedstates.blogspot.com
I agree...this was also a showing to the RNC that we will not tolerate non-conservative candidates. That is the most important thing. What is more heartbreaking? Losing this election or having someone who says they are a Republican vote for healthcare reform, ala Olympia Snowe.
What a sec!! A bus!! You don't think she wants us sarc sisters to join and CharterOakie and the other barbarians to drive?:)
I bet Governor Palin visits Fort Bragg before Obama give McCrystal more troops.
Isn't Decembe 6 the College of the Ozarks gig?
Beck used a bus for his Idiots tour.
Whit!!!! I am sure she would want that. How much fun that would be. We could have "girl talk" while driving between book signings. CharterOakie and Old Dude could double as security guys with their cool shades on. We could even whip into fast food places etc to get the local people all fired up. I am also thinking we may need police escorts when entering a town, kind of an impromptu parade. I. Love. Road. Trips.
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Caveats: NONE
I am a little more lenient on Snowe. A. She voted for Chief Justice Roberts.
B. She voted for Justice Alito. C. She has said she will not vote for the
Reid plan. Her record isn't Jim Demint levels but from Maine probably a good
choice. Will force concessions from Dems on some of their points to get their
vote. Dede proved with her endorsement of a Pelosi liberal where she sits.
Very far left. Snowe is a moderate that if we can win elsewhere will go with
us on big issues.
How does DeDe actually sleep at night now that she's exposed as Benedict Arnold ?
and what about the "Obama guy" who went up there and "convinced" her to support Owens ? that sounds fishy . . .
Unreal!
http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jjmnolte/2009/11/04/elementary-epidemic-11-uncovered-videos-show-school-children-performing-praises-to-obama/
She's got relations in Idaho, maybe she'll spend Thanksgiving there and make some book tour stops there.
In Ny23, many votes were cast by the men and women of the 10th Mountain Division weeks ago.
That was the only problem with Sarah's timing: her endorsement, had she made it earlier, would have had a huge effect on the military vote. They absolutely love her.
I don't want to click "like" on this one . . .
Good morning everyone.
I have not noticed anyone posting this here, so I will post it. I pre-ordered my book through Borders.com, and I got an e-mail from them yesterday.
"Good news! We have lowered the price on Going Rogue by Sarah Palin, which you pre-ordered. The new price is $15.65 -- a 46% savings off the list price of $28.99. Because you placed your pre-order before we lowered our price, that means you'll be getting the new price.
If you paid with a credit card, your card will only be charged the new cost of the book plus any applicable shipping charges. If you paid with a gift card, you will receive a return gift card for the difference in price between what you paid at the time you ordered and the item's current price.
You don't need to do anything except relax, get ready to enjoy your new book, and -- of course -- visit Borders.com, where you'll find great deals on new releases and millions of other books, CDs, music downloads, and movies.
Sincerely,
Your Borders Team

Maybe she can make a deal with him: she'll come on his show if he'll be and his "plumbers" take care of Levi.
LMAO
I like to think I still know a bit about Illinois politics, but I have to admit that this surprised me:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/eye-on-2012/il-sen-kirk-seeks-palin-endors.html
The Illinois GOP is REALLY a "rump" party -- it's was devastated when former Gov. Ryan was caught up in scandals and hasn't come back since. Plus, Illinois has been blue for quite a while, both at the national and state levels.
That said, the conservatives that are left do have an inordinate amount of clout in the primary, but I didn't think Kirk would think Gov. Palin's endorsement (or at least neutrality statement) would be necessary.
BTW, I found this while reading Cillizza's assessment of last night's election results. Think you've gotten whiplash from Cillizza's past opinions about Gov. Palin? Check this out -- he names Gov. Palin as both a winner (for galvanizing the base around Hoffman) AND a loser (because Hoffman lost he thinks it will reduce the influence of conservatives).
Obama's main lap dog, George S., is spinning this as a loss for Sarah Palin:
STEPHANOPOULOS: The bottom line, when there is a civil war inside the Republican Party, a Democrat can squeak through in a district that has not gone to the Democrats since about the Civil War. So, this is a big surprise for the Democrats here. I think it was a big loss for Sarah Palin. A big win for the Democrats who poured it on in the final days especially Vice President Biden who came in the final day.
LOL! Keep spinning, there George. As many here and on Hot Air and Ace and other blogs have stated, this was a good first step for 2010. It's clear we need more time, money and support, and conservatives have to start earlier than anyone aligned with the party, as those candidates will have major backing from their respective parties. Hoffman did as well as he could with all of the deficiencies. And frankly, Sarah moved him from single digits to a high of 46% in a manner of a few weeks. Give her a year and watch out!
Well with idiots like Michael Steele is it really any wonder?
But he also seemed to deliver a bit of a rebuke to potential 2012 presidential aspirants in his party such as Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and Rick Santorum, all of whom immersed themselves in the NY-23 special House race with their endorsements and support for conservative Doug Hoffman who came up short last night.
"If you don't live in the district, you don't vote there, your opinion doesn't matter very much," Steele said while assessing the intra-party strife that resulted in a Democratic pick up of a seat held by Republicans since the Civil War.
When he was asked to assess the claim made by conservative blogger Erick Erickson at RedState.com -- a grassroots driving force behind Hoffman’s candidacy -- that conservatives scored a victory last night, Chairman Steele could not have disagreed more firmly.
“I don't see a victory in losing seats,” Steele said. “I'm in the business of multiplication and addition. I want more Republicans. I don't buy that we somehow find victory in defeat.”
http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2009/11/steele-throws-elbow-to-palin-pawlenty-on-ny23.htmldefeat.”
Excuse me Mr. Steele, but when a congressman / senator votes on legislation that affects me, I damn well have an interest and say in the matter.
Bye bye Mr. Steele.
Yeah, they're (the GOP establishment) lashing out because they know that there is trouble brewing among the conservatives in and out of the party. I just can't get upset when these clowns open their mouths anymore. The more they talk like this, the more I know we (conservatives) are having an effect on their plan.
Rush is now sticking up for her. He says she is NOT damaged by this at all; in fact, she helped Hoffman and will continue to help. He is praising her speaking, her writing and her ability to draw huge crowds. He says everything she has said and written are things he cannot disagree with. Now saying she's "one hell of a strong woman".
I just heard that. Rush was absolutely great. He is definitely a big Palin fan. I hope someone can get an audio of this to post on C4P.
I call shotgun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
