C. Edmund Wright: Rasmussen shows continued slippage for Obama
C. Edmund Wright, in an article at American Thinker, has some analysis of today's Rasmussen poll which places Obama's Presidential Approval Index at an astonishing -19:
If the President and his political team were looking for an approval bounce from the troika of the Copenhagen Climate summit, the Nobel Peace speech and "the Oprah effect" from her Christmas special, it appears they are sifting through coal and ashes instead.
For the second day in a row, the Rasmussen index of strongly inclined voters has hit startling new lows:The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19. (note: it was -16 on Saturday's release.)
Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama's time in office.
For months, the trend has been for around 30% of the country to strongly approve of the President while about 40% strongly disapprove. Most of this recent bleeding has been at the expense of Obama's formerly strong support. He is well below 50% in his own party related to strong approval:The 23% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Just 41% of Democrats Strongly Approve while 69% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove.
Perhaps the worst news for Obama can be found in some of the internals. He is getting shellacked among independent voters and on those who consider fiscal policy (the deficit) key, he is literally at MINUS 80! He is also starting to "own this economy" among voters as well:Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 21% Strongly Approve and 49% Strongly Disapprove. Among those who consider the economy to be the most important issue, just 26% Strongly Approve of the President's performance while 39% Strongly Disapprove.
Among those who consider fiscal policy issues the most important, just 1% Strongly Approve and 81% Strongly Disapprove.
Read the rest of Wright's analysis here. One wonders if the Democrats in congress will continue to follow Obama off the cliff by passing such budget busting and economy killing duds as ObamaCare and Cap and Tax despite overwhelming opposition among the American people.
Update by Doug: Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has more analysis of the Rasmussen poll here.

If I want to read about Obama, or see headlines above a blog about him, I'll visit a left-wing blog. NOT here at C4P
Neo,
Fodder.:)
Ya- I guess so!
For Obama supporters this deserves a Carl Lewis "UH OH!"
Here's a bit of news that I haven't seen reported elsewhere:
At the Coeur D'Alene and Sand Point Id. book signings I met and talked to a group 4 ladies, one a mother of 7 with a 7-month-old little girl, who are a 'prayer group' from KC, Mo. At there own expense, and traveling commercial, they have attended every book signing with the exception of Reno. Flight delays caused them to arrive at that signing venue after the event was ended. It took me a while - 1/2 dozen questions - to graps what they were doing. Their replys were honest and straightforward: "We are here to support Sarah with our prayers". That's it. No fanfare. No attention. At Coeur D'Alene they sat right outside the security curtains where family and friends of Sarah were. They were treated like family - Including the food and drinks Fred Myers provided for us. In Sand Point they spent the 3 hours in a room just stage right of the stage right behind the signing table. Between the two venues in Idaho I talked to them for about an hour. They are an absolute awesome group!
I actually love reading these article. Our Sarah is on the rise while Mr. Marxist is plummeting like LSM's ratings.
I have a sign on the wall by my desk - "Rasmussen = -20% = a steak dinner for me." It's been on the wall since June. I'm getting close! :)
I don't mind reading about O crashing and burning. Good for the digestion.
The way it looks now, Sarah's challenge will be the Repub. primaries. I can see the beltway Repubs are becoming frantic. Thune's name being floated now as their new trial balloon because the usual suspects can't beat her. Anyone but Sarah. I don't even think he's expressed an interest--yet.
She's going to start taking major fire from insider Repubs now. Was watching Fox and friends this morning and Alfonso D'Amato was saying that she's not qualified but would make a great talk show host. This is the guy who lost to Mr. Charisma Chuck Schumer and inflicted him on the nation. The Saturday fill in drone agreed and suggested Thune, who he probably never heard of before until he read AOL's headline on Friday.
Her next battle is with the establishment Repubs. That's why Rush, Ingraham, Levin, etc. being behind her is really important--the people here too! Grassroots!
This "unqualified" mantra can be turned against them. What the hell makes any of the other guys more qualified? She was a terrific governor of an important state. Thune's one of many senetors with no executive cred. This IS sexist, and I'm one who thinks that term has been somewhat overused. This is blatant though.
Their line of attack is that she's a "Star" not a leader. They've got to be proved wrong.
As to O--keep it up Once.
Love it!!!!! Thanks leo!!
Can you imagine what Rassmussen will poll Obama at when we have Obama/Holder continue to push the KSM trial in New York?
A lot's turning into a nightmare for O. It's slipping away. The people who run him are going to have to break it to him soon. Then it's medication time.
I'm grateful for the post C4P, because I've been wanting to get something off my chest. I'm a little bit psychic (that means I'm a good guesser, ha!) and I've had this feeling in my gut that things are going to get very very very bad (politically) for Pres. Obama. And it's going to happen very quickly. All the signs actually point to this. Consider the following chain of events:
1.Deval Patrick. Obama's buddy, Deval Patrick, another Axelrod creation, was crashing in popularity, polling at an astonishing 19% approval in liberal Massachussets over the summer after sweeping into office in grandiose Obama style two years ago. The guy has done nothing but talk and write a book and piss off even the liberals while screwing up the state. The fact that Patrick and Obama have been so closely linked, and were supposed to represent a new age of racial harmony, and were basically created by the same people, this does not bode well for Obama. By next summer Obama could be envious of Bush's approval ratings.
2. Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods has enjoyed media worship his whole career, just like Obama. Woods tightly controlled his image, and the information he let out about his private life. (Sound familiar?) Once the cat was out of the bag, however, all hell has broken loose, to mix a few metaphors. Tiger has immediately lost 20 points of popularity, sponsors are running for the hills, and his pristine veneer has been ripped off to reveal an ugly underlying truth: Tiger is a man with some pretty weird problems and his golf talent doesn't seem to make him a stellar human being. I suspect that's going to happen to Obama at some point, and I only use the Tiger Woods analogy, not because of the similar race, but because of the similar circumstances. Obama has enjoyed media WORSHIP his whole career. Nobody has really pried into his private life. Obama admitted drug use in the past and everyone just left it at that. I suspect that something is going to give out at some point. Maybe it will be the "car crash" of his healthcare bill failing in the Senate. But details of Obama's former (current) personal life are eventually going to come out. Just like Tiger, he can't keep a lid on his proclivities forever. And our friends at Hillbuzz have some sordid stories they believe will eventually come "out" .... It could get ugly fast.
3. Sinking ship. If Obama's poll numbers continue to slide, and disturbing details start coming out about his personal life, he will lose friends and allies like rats fleeing a sinking ship. He will be left alone in his narcissism with no clothes.
I have been wrong about my predictions before ... but I don't think I'm wrong about this one. After all ... think about. How does a genuine empty suit regain credibility after he's been exposed?
Obama is in the uneviable position of having to "hide" who he really is to preserve the caricature the media has built up.
Sarah, on the other hand, merely has to reveal who she is, to shatter the illusion.
It's easier to reveal than to hide. Sarah will win.
Excellent points. As to points 2 & 3, I've always thought he's an unexplored Alaskan oilfield of dirt. It can turn into a Gusher if the media caves.
Gallup has Obama at 48% approval today.
Isn't that down 1 point?
Since Thanksgiving morning I have spent a total of 13 1/2 hours as close to Sarah as I would like to be - At times feeding her books to sigh when in Coeur D'Alene. In Coeur D'Alene her uncle Ron and I would scour the waiting line for handicapped, special-needs famalies and/or Military and bring then to the front of the line. In Sand Point I had that sole duty along with moving books to be signed. Thus - I can tell you, first hand, Sarah is MUCH more than most of us can imagine. For anyone to suggest she hasn't the talent, intellect and experience to be POTUS is just plain nutty talk - PERIOD!
All bad things they say happen in threes.
Down from 50/44
Geeezzz,
Not only do you have to fight the Obama "Chicago thugs"....but you also have to fight people supposedly on the same side you are.
I just don't get it.
Once she head downhill it becomes much more difficult to arrest the decline as the momentum plunges closer to the abyss.
Obama can save himself still, but does he have will to fight back?
Here's a good thing. There are still 2 Sarah videos posted on our TEA Party site: tri-citiesteaparties.com
Additionally - there is an Auction there for 2 signed books and a signed C4P T-Shirt. Just click the 'Auction' Tab for details.
I don't think he's got the ability to switch gears. His mission is to "Remake America" and that means cramming as many Leftist programs down our throats as quickly as possible. He knows nothing else. The guy's robotic and it's spooky. He was built to be a wrecking ball.
The fundamental problem is what has Obama delivered on, that would justify any real support. The stimulus, has had no appreciable impact, the egotism represented by the Nobel and OLympic junkets, rubs a raw wound, the arc of crisis from Afghanistan to South America.
His strong approval number is collapsing. This is Obama's anti-war base moving away from him because he escalated the war in Afghanistan.
The Kos Kids are disappointed they posted Axelrod talking points on the internet during the campaign, only to have Obama toss them under the bus. Really couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch. A primary challenge for Obama is coming - from the left.
Same deal with Reagan Terri. All people capable of greatness have to fight their own. Always.
I hope no one will challenge him in the primary. We need a leftist third party to take away his votes in the GE.
Unfortuantely I think Hillary will challenge him for the nomination, but I have heard that slimy creature we know as Bill Maher said he wants a progressive party because the democrat party is not left enough for him, I never thought I would say this but more power to you Bill, In fact I will even help you
It's really rather sad the way Obama is crashing and burning.
When he was first elected I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt (no, really I did).
I thought with all the hullaballoo around him and all the love he had from both citizens and the msm....I actually thought for a second, "how could I be sooo wrong about him?"
Not only was I right about him, but I actually find myself very angry and "pissed off".
Why???..one word..Potential.
I gotta admit Obama had it.
He had everything any president could have asked for...the majority of both house and senate, the looove and blindness of the msm, the cultlike affection of the people of the country AND the world.
All that potential...what a shame.
I think of what he could have done with all that "potential" to make not only our country a better place but, accourding to the noble peace award presenters, the world a better place.
What has he done with all that????
-All he has done is turn my country into something I don't even recognize.
-Made me into a liar of sorts to my children, when I tell them that hard work and desire can get you far in this world.
-Turning our government officials into some sort of royalty with the people bowing to them, making them forget that they're supposed to work for us.....with a servant's heart.
-Making a mockery of our military...once proud and feared, now morale deficiant and laughed at.
-Instigating the line being drawn between the "liberals" and the "teabaggers" that's starting to pull our country apart with the potential of a "revolution" in our future.
Somehow forgetting that he is "all of our's president".
-The enormous debt our children, grandchildren and great-grandchldren will be saddled with...and the whitehouse cronies not showing one ounce of concern.
Shame on Obama...all that potential now down the drain.
At times it depresses me...can you imagine what someone /anyone else could have done with all that potential???
Now all I can do is fight the good fight as they say. Never again will I let the msm decide who I will vote/campaign for.
Never again will I "sit down and shut up"...none of us should. Our country's future depends on it.
That felt good...;-)
Thanks for listening and letting me rant...lol
That was a beautiful rant terri! I think you have expressed how all of us here feel about Obama, I too gave him the benefit of the doubt for maybe a week...no scratch that...a few days...no one day...no a few hours, He had a lot of potential to do a lot of good things for our nation but he has squandered it, if he wants to reverse himself and save his presidency he is running out of time fast, but most sadly of all he will dissapoint his youngest daughter, who I read said to her father "you'd better be a good president dad!" And for all you 24 fans here I have said this before I will say it again Barack Obama is no David Palmer! Palmer may have been a democrat but he loved his county and knew what he had to do to defend it!
Now that I'm all done ranting....;)
There is a "Tea Party Express 3".
Starting 3/27 going till 4/15...ending in Washington DC.
http://www.teapartyexpress.org/tour-schedule-3/
Take note Whitney.....There's a stop coming near you...April 5th Springfield Illinois.
No excuses Whit...be there or be square as they say. lol
Good time for all of us to not only make our voices heard, but....to get the "Sarah 2012" banter going.
M.
Well, supposedly Holder did this on his own, without Obama's knowledge or permission.
Yea, right..s/
Let me broach an idea: Should governor Palin be named Time person of the year? Should C4P promote her or let it happen?
Neo,
I know that Sarah would NEVER want that "front of the line" info out there, but geeezz wouldn't it be nice if the people knew that???
What a nice, kind and thoughtful person she truely is.....I wish the msm would show that...at least once in a while.
But that will never happen. **sigh**
I think the idea is nice bassman but I don't think we should encourage it hear me out...if she is the Time Person of the Year they will make her the person of the year not as a positive but as a negative, see the person of the year is about someone who influenced the world for good or ill, it will just be a huge snarkfest and plus I want Time Magazine to go out of business like NewSpeak if she is on the cover it will extend Time's miserable existence on this Earth...thanks for hearing me out:)
Mark,
Yes he is robotic and yes, it is scarey.
I don't think I can recall ANY president not being able to show any heart like him.
Can you??
as a former democrat, and at one point I was a liberal. I can fill in some details for you guys.
Yes, there has been talk about moving the undemocratic party leftwards. (even more so, if that's even possible)
Will Obama get a more lefty challenger? not within the undemocratic party. It will come from the Green party, etc. Someone like Cynthia Mckinney, etc. I will let you guys know if I hear of anyone else. The problem is people will not vote for Cynthia M. b/c they think she is a nutball (and I agree)
Its more that the undemocrat voters will stay home, they will see they have been betrayed and lied too, and will just stay home. And the independents and centerist democrats will reliase they have been lied to and are frightened at what is going on with this death-care bill etc, and they will vote for the "other option".
And this shift is where Sarah will get the voters, and she has plenty of time to convince people.
As for Hillary challenging him, I don't see it, and as much I voted/campaigned for her and respect her, she has lost a LOT of voters like me who will not support her in 2012. By joining this marxist administration, his policies are now her policies. That will be ard her neck should she choose to run. Frankly, I do not see it.
Right now, the UN-DNC is trying to rewrite the primary rules (yes, I still get the DNC crap mail), but there are millions of centerist dems who saw what happened in 2008, and will NEVER EVER forgive the Undemocratic Party for what they did to hillary democrats. At that point it was beyond Hillary, they took votes from one candidate and gave them to another. I cannot ever forgive that.
So, Sarah just need to keep doing what she is doing. Her core is Americanism aka Conservatism. She will and can pick up centerist dems, independents.
Even the way he walks is robotic anybody else notice that? hmmmmmm...maybe he is an android built by George Soros:)
I think the American Soldier should be the person of the decade.
Not that I buy into any of crap Time mag peddles. But I think the American soldier is the "person" of the decade.
Patrick......
Luv me some Jack Bauer. ;-)
24...one of my favorite shows (that, and i'm a LOST fanatic).
Starts 1/17/10 YES!
Bauer..."You're lucky I'm retired"....yea right. s/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=399Hiwua0J4
I just started watching it this year terri (August 29, 2009 to be exact), My dad bought the entire series for me and I have been hooked ever since I am on the 4th episode of day 7, day 8 sounds good I heard Rush talking about visiting the set a few weeks ago he says that CTU is back, I watched LOST in the beginning but got out of the habit, maybe I should ask for those DVDS for Christmas :)
^^^me too lifelong...me too.
terri, Sarah Palin=Jack Bauer
Neo, I believe you with all of my heart. I've had that feeling for a long time. There is no way she is not going to run and there is no way she is not going to win.
It won't happen... the leftist aren't there yet. And really, I'm okay with that. I am okay with her working under the radar with most "elites" and the LSM believing she is "irrelevant".
Which is precisely why he wanted to cram healthcare down our throats and DELAY his decision on Afghanistan. He knew that as soon as he had to deploy people to war, his base would be ticked, his approval numbers would take a hit, and he would have a hard time asking Congress to back him on politically unpopular measures. You only get so much political capital. Obama's capital is GONE. He squandered it. And has nothing to show for it, except debt, debt, debt.
Pictures of Sarah's Elmendorf signing here...
http://www.conservativegirlwithavoice.com/
We are going to have to have to 24 threads during the season. I LOVE that show. Should be interesting this year. I heard Freddie Prince, a known conservative actor, has joined the cast.
Honestly, I think the person of the decade has to be either Bush or Osama bin Laden ....
Excellent Idea RD! I am sure Sarah is a fan of the show too, hey I didn't know he was a conservative when did he come out?
Model T-2008. Shape-shifting terminator.
Which has now become our debt, debt, debt!
Sarah 2012!
Some of us thought the Hillary voters would switch over to McCain/Palin after what was done to Hillary, but that cavalry never came over the hill, at least not in sufficient numbers to make any difference. HillBuzz had us convinced it was in the bag, and we ended up looking like fools on election night.
He is married to Sarah Michelle Geller, and they both contribute to Republicans. Wasn't she at the 2004 convention? I can't remember. I was a Democrat back then.
"who is Jack Bauer?"..... are you kidding me?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVC4uBfL9s8&NR=1
I'm not sure about that, but hey I was wondering if you are still in the hospital?
Piper is wearing the green hat.
Also might be like the famous scene in Paint My Wagon where the town finally collapses, exposing the labrynth of gold-mining tunnels underneath. Karma eventually catches up to everyone. We can't run from the truth forever.
Betsey,
You're right...I never have doubted it for a second.
If she wasn't gonna run she would have stayed Governor of Alaska and would have come out right away and said she wasn't running.
I cannot wait for that announcement!
I liked last years promo better with this song...sorry about the parts where Lil Wayne comes in, this is a good song minus his contributions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a4JaphXcWs
Did anyone notice who's wearing the green hat that Sarah wore.

time when the big money bails on a loosing investment and a free fall occures.
Hope ur feeling ok
yep
OT and just to get your blood boiling.......
Rules of engagement killing U.S. soldiers
<span>You won't believe how politics handcuff troops in Afghanistan
Critics see the new ROEs being more oriented toward defensive rather than offensive operations, as evidenced by recent charges of murder against two U.S. Army snipers because they had targeted a Taliban commander who reportedly wasn't holding a weapon.
The actual ROEs are said to be classified U.S. and NATO secrets, but based on individual soldier <span><span>accounts</span></span>, those restrictions include the following:
No night or surprise searches
Villagers are to be warned prior to searches
Afghan National Army, or ANA, or Afghan National Police, or ANP, must accompany U.S. units on searches
U.S. soldiers may not fire at insurgents unless they are preparing to fire first
U.S. forces cannot engage insurgents if civilians are present
Only women can search women
Troops can fire on insurgents if they catch them placing an IED but not if insurgents walk away from where the explosives are.
Often, rules of engagement require varying levels of approvals before action can be taken. In one case, villagers had tipped off U.S. forces of the presence of a Taliban commander who was threatening village elders.
To get permission to go after him, U.S. troops had to get 11 separate Afghan, U.S. and international forces' approval to the plan. The approval, however, did not come until well into the next day. By then, the Taliban commander had moved on, to the consternation of the villagers who had provided the tip. Observers have claimed that it can take some 96 hours to acquire all the permissions to act.
In other cases, the use of force against insurgents may be blocked if they lower their guns, only to have those insurgents return later to attack.
Also, ISAF troops cannot engage insurgents if they are leaving an area where an IED has been planted. In one case, insurgents planting an IED had detected the presence of U.S. forces and immediately began leaving the area, tossing evidence of their preparations along the way. U.S. forces could not fire on them.
The ROEs in some cases have gone beyond limiting ISAF troops in their operations. In one case, ROE restrictions were in effect when four U.S. Marines twice pleaded by <span><span>radio</span></span> for artillery support in combat action in Kunar Province in Afghanistan – and twice they were refused, before they were killed.
</span>
The GOP insiders showed how good they are when they lost the House, the Senate and the Presidency. They need to retire to their country clubs and make room for younger, more agressive people who actually believe in the words of the Constitution and the Declaration, and want to bring the party and the country back to those principles.
Wow! This is pretty stunning. I wonder if this will hold. My belief that the Indies are primarily fiscons is correct. They are not liberals leaving the GOP, but fiscons upset with both parties' inability to reduce the federal spending, debt, and deficits. If this keeps up and the GOP can once again improve their image on fiscon and business issues for jobs, they have a good chance at taking the House and 6-10 Senate seats.
Wow the radical fringe is getting bigger, 42% of the country.
I'm totally psyched! I was just informed by a fellow c4per that I'm in one of the 4 pics from Minnesota Sarah posted on her last tour facebook note! I'm wearing my "real women hunt moose" sweatshirt and pointing out my Todd button, that's why they were laughing! I also showed my c4p button off! Sweet!
So the troop surge means nothing, with these politically corret ROEs how can we possibly win? I keep hearing this meme in the media that Obama's nobel speech is a turning point in his presidency and that this is the start of the "Obama Doctrine" BullS***! The words were nice and sounded good but they don't mean crap if they are not nacked up by action, as far as I know Obama is still having KSM the mastermind of 9/11 tried in a civilian court near ground zero, he is closing Gitmo and bringing the terrorists to Whitney's home state of Illinois, he is going after the people at the CIA who defended this country for the last 8 years, so no this is not the beginning of an "Obama Doctrine" it is just words, just speeches, I can't wait until we have the Palin Doctrine in 2013!
backed sorry
I agree that Conservative people outside the GOP establishment will gradually be more supportive of Sarah if they put up some 'Thuneish' type to run against her. I am convinced she will beat Obama in a tough fight but will win. The GOP primary will be the main battle.
Great insight Sapwolf, I get so tired of these idiot political strategists on tv keep saying over and over "well the GOP is only 22% of the electorate so that idiot Sarah Palin is making a stupid mistake by just appealing to the base of the GOP" Glenn Beck was right when he said the paradigm is shifting, these strategists are stuck in the old GOP vs. Democrat Party paradigm, the paradigm is now rugged individualism vs. statism
Terri
Way to go!... God Bless you, I can understand crushed feelings....I voted for Sarah from day one...not braging just never trusted the glitter surrounding Obama...my crushed feelings regard McCain... As it turned out Im happy he lost, the way he has misshandled himself... Not sure Sarah would have liked working for him and she would have suffered politically for Doing so
Hey, you have to read this article. Someone else (besides me) is seeing a metaphoric connection between Tiger Woods' fall from grace, and Obama's slide. (Although this wrtier doesn't see any character issues for Obama, just his incompetence. She must not read Hillbuzz.)
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/12/tiger_barrack_and_the_law_of_t.html
Palin Doctrine = We win, They lose.
Obama Doctrine = We surrender!
bestbud, I think like her resignation, her loss in the 2008 election was blessing from God in disguise
Slight OT:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/13/obama-gives-b-plus-grade/
Obama gives himself a B+ for this fiscal year. This only makes sense if you're of the ideological mindset that everyone deserves an A and every sporting event means both teams win. Sigh. Geez, and I though Sarah was too generous of a grader on Obama.
Damn right :)
I didn't watch Oprah's luvfest...I mean christmas special (with someone who supposedly doesn't celebrate christmas), but supposedly Obama gives himself a "solid b+" for his first year in office.
With his ratings so low now it got me wondering....huh?????
wow...prayer warriors for Sarah.
Whitney and terri, its all part of affirmative action, see Obama gives himself extra points because of his skin color...I hope that didn't come off as racist
Has anyone stumbled across any news on the book signing at the other Air Force base?
I haven't, but I think that one goes to 9:30 Alaska time, if I remember right. It still has an hour left until it is over.
High quality image. You can save it and print it. Great expressions on Sarah and Todd, and Sarah and Todd hands are touching.
An A+ requires a $10,000,000,000,000 deficit.
Thus, the B+.
It is all about the zeros.
Obama may have lost this vote.
http://www.reviewmessenger.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3704:america-under-barack-obama&catid=19:guest-opinion
"<span>Nat Hentoff: I try to avoid hyperbole, but I think Obama is possibly the most dangerous and destructive president we have ever had. An example is ObamaCare, which is now embattled in the Senate. If that goes through the way Obama wants, we will have something very much like the British system. If the American people have their health care paid for by the government, depending on their age and their condition, they will be subject to a health commission just like in England which will decide if their lives are worth living much longer.</span>
<span>
<p>In terms of the Patriot Act, and all the other things he has pledged he would do, such as transparency in government, Obama has reneged on his promises. He pledged to end torture, but he has continued the CIA renditions where you kidnap people and send them to another country to be interrogated. Why is Obama doing that if he doesn't want torture anymore? Throughout Obama's career, he promised to limit the state secrets doctrine which the Bush-Cheney administration had abused enormously. The Bush administration would go into court on any kind of a case that they thought might embarrass them and would argue that it was a state secret and the case should not be continued. Obama is doing the same thing, even though he promised not to.
</p><p>So in answer to your question, I am beginning to think that this guy is a phony. Obama seems to have no firm principles that I can discern that he will adhere to. His only principle is his own aggrandizement. This is a very dangerous mindset for a president to have.
</p><p>JW: Do you consider Obama to be worse than George W. Bush?
</p><p>NH: Oh, much worse. Bush essentially came in with very little qualifications for presidency, not only in terms of his background but he lacked a certain amount of curiosity, and he depended entirely too much on people like Rumsfeld, Cheney and others. Bush was led astray and we were led astray. However, I never thought that Bush himself was, in any sense, "evil." I am hesitant to say this about Obama. Obama is a bad man in terms of the Constitution. The irony is that Obama was a law professor at the University of Chicago. He would, most of all, know that what he is doing weakens the Constitution.
</p><p>In fact, we have never had more invasions of privacy than we have now. The Fourth Amendment is on life support and the chief agent of that is the National Security Agency. The NSA has the capacity to keep track of everything we do on the phone and on the internet. Obama has done nothing about that. In fact, he has perpetuated it. He has absolutely no judicial supervision of all of this. So all in all, Obama is a disaster.
</p><p>JW: Obama is not reversing the Bush policies as he promised. But even in light of this, many on the Left are very, very quiet about Obama. Why is that?
</p><p>NH: I am an atheist, although I very much admire and have been influenced by many traditionally religious people. I say this because the Left has taken what passes for their principles as an absolute religion. They don't think anymore. They just react. When they have somebody like Obama whom they put into office, they believed in the religious sense and, of course, that is a large part of the reason for their silence on these issues. They are very hesitant to criticize Obama, but that is beginning to change. Even on the cable network MSNBC, some of the [...]

cool pic, it was actually worth going there to see it, I try to avoid the ADN whenever possible
haven't visited ADN for a long time now but seems nothing has changed. comment section is still full of crap.
so many concern trolls are asking "where's meg?"
don't worry it should be going out of business any day now along with NewSpeak
its the same with CNN, I looked at their write up on Sarah's appearance on Conan thinking that they would at least have a sense of humor, nope not one sense of humor, they acted like it was so scandalous that Sarah would make fun of Shatner, those people are really stupid it was all worked out ahead of time, oh well I actually find their behavior hilarious now, but I feel sorry for them they obviously have nothing going for them in their lives I guess
Alright heading to bed now goodnight fellow C4Pers...AND GOODNIGHT MRS. DUNN, WHEREVER YOU ARE!
<span>from adn alaska ear: "There's been a lot of flap about a memoir by an Alaskan that's apparently selling well Outside -- sorry, the name escapes Ear. However, if you're looking for a real memoir by a real Alaskan, earwigs suggest "Growing Up in Alaska," by former Lite Gov. jack coghill"</span>

Thanks Bestbud, sorry I owe you a phone call! It was nice talking to you briefly, and hope we can chat again. I'm off work most of the week, so maybe we can connect. Just got out of the hospital last Friday.
Obama Doctrine = Plaigarize tough-sounding language from Palin's book
Pretend to fight a war

Awwww...... Sarah's wrist needs a rub:

"He took down the family pictures and put her on the wall," said Tammy, Judge's wife. "So now when you go over there, she's like, staring at you," his daughter added.
Don't tell Judge's dad, but he's getting a personalized, signed copy of Palin's book for Christmas.... Judge, a 37-year-old technical sergeant in the Air Force, waited three-and-a-half hours for Palin's signature. "She thanked me for my service," he said.
Palin has signed many as 5,100 books in a day during the tour, said Chuck Heath, her father. "At night my wife or her aunt would giver her a massage on her wrist," he said.
Trevino likes that Palin is anti-abortion and that she kept her son when she learned he would be born with Down syndrome. "That means a lot to me," she said. "And then the fact that she stood by her daughter when she was pregnant. I had a baby at a young age too," Trevino said. "And without my parents' help, I wouldn't have been able to do a very good job."

It's the newest PDS thing. Since Meg hasn't been seen on the book tour, they're speculating that she's about to jump ship. First off, Meg has spoken for the Gov in articles recently. Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Meg have a baby recently? She's probably sticking close to home for awhile.

Hey Uffda, you're still up, go over to the muddy site and look at the last pic on the page. It's sent in from Sarah's stop at Walter Reed. I'm so disappointed in this military service personal I can't even articulate it.
Yeah. Well, at least she said that Palin did a good job of actually visiting with the troops. Still, that last thing was disgusting. These people are vile.
Vile is right. It just makes me want to cry for how much Sarah puts her heart and soul into support of each and every member of the service. That pic just ripped me apart when I saw it earlier today.
Penny,
What pic are you talking about? The one with her and the moose pic?
Yeah, Tommy. It was about the betrayal I felt for how much respect Sarah gives to the military. Don't know - it just crushed me to see a service person goof on Sarah like that.
I don't really care about the moose, I hate the very last pic and what is written underneath:
"And don’t worry. I can relate to the whole “charming” thing. I’ve seen Sarah Palin work a crowd and it’s quite something. But think about it. How else could she have possibly gotten where she is? So don’t feel bad. I’m glad your spouse is there to guide you through the detox."
What is it with these people's shoe obsession?
The pic is Sarah's boots, by the way.
The pic is Sarah's boots, by the way. I'm getting really sick of this obsession with Sarah's looks. Next they'll be saying she slept her way to the top. They probably already have.
Your right, sorry. The moose pic is what got to me first and foremost. I only read a little of what was written - I was too pissed off to check it out thoroughly.
Oh, about their shoes/boots obsession - I think Sarah has great taste in boots especially. I love the boot pics! :) My girls are boot freaks too! It costs me a fortune!
A guy asks Sarah if she wants to trade in her husband:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDr3VdhmkKY
that's cute!
I don't thing the elites view her as irrelevant...I think they view her and danger #1.
I prefer tennis shoes:) Tomboy.
Today is 44% overall approval among likely voters for Obama at Rasmussen. That is incredibly bad this early in his term.
That Hentoff interview is just a devastating critique of Obama and his polices. I don't think I've read anything more critical, even from conservatives. I mean this guy Hentoff used to write for that leftist rag - The Village Voice. And if he's thinking and saying this kind of thing, how many others are there just waiting to come out of their hole.
LOL!!
