CBS: A Pathetic Excuse for a News Organization
CBS, that bastion of unbiased journalism, where you can get a "prestigious" award for blatant bias and basement level ratings, has a story about Jeremy Olson, who was arrested yesterday for assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct. This is the headline:
Sarah Palin Almost Gets Tomato in Face, but Jeremy Olson Has Terrible Aim
No, really. That's the headline.
First of all, CBS, Palin did not "almost" get a tomato in the face. According to the police, the tomato landed at least ten feet from her. I don't know what world you live in, CBS, but missing what you're aiming at by ten feet is not "almost" hitting it. In addition, Governor Palin reportedly wasn't even aware of the incident when it happened, so he obviously didn't "almost" hit her with anything.
Second of all, CBS, your headline contradicts itself. Palin was "almost" hit, but the thrower had "terrible aim"? Let me try to explain this to you in simple terms, CBS: you either have good aim and hit or come within a few inches of what you're aiming at, or you have "terrible aim" and you miss it by a wide margin. Ten feet is a wide margin, CBS. Just wanted to clarify that since you obviously don't know.
Let's move on to the first paragraph of the story:
Maybe Jeremy Olson should have practiced with a target before attempting to pelt Sarah Palin with tomatoes at a book signing in Minnesota Dec. 7.
Maybe he should have practiced first? He threw the tomato from a second floor balcony in an attempt to assault the former governor of Alaska and vice-presidential candidate. Instead, he hit a police officer. Throwing something from a height onto a person can cause injury, you idiots. Is there some reason that a "serious, unbiased" news organization is making a joke of this?
Jeremy is a pathetic, violent moron, just like all the other lefties who go around throwing things at conservatives. Thankfully, most of them can't hit what they're aiming at. As Adrienne pointed out, despite the fact that I'm enjoying the fact that Jeremy is getting his just desserts, violence directed against the governor is not funny.
So, let's get this straight, CBS: you are a pathetic excuse for a news organization and you don't deserve to call yourself journalists.

If the incident were to happen to Obama and CBS reports it like that, a whole gang of people would be calling them racist.
This needs to be nipped in the bud before copy cats start throwing more dangerous things than eggs and tomatoes to Sarah Palin. She is the front runner of the opposition party. An attack on her would be the same and should eb treated the same as an attack on a presidential candidate.
Jeremy Olson should be charged with assault on a police officer, let go with a misdemeanor on his record after a few days in jail to discourage any other nutcase.. just as a matter of principle.

I knew that there was a great reason for my > 12 months of boycotting CBS...all programs, not just the news....also boycott ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and HBO (remove Bill Mayer)....and I really haven't felt deprived of a thing. I get a lot of reading done......my passion.

What you have here are three MSM networks ABC, NBC (including MSNBC) and CBS competing for the spoils and who can bow lower to Obama and best represent his interests and part of representing his interests is to become contemptuous of Sarah Palin and to diminish her credibility. Of course they no longer care about upholding the morals of the nation as they once thought they should. The new morality is that the ends justify the means, which as we know is as old as the hills, as it was originated by Machiavelli.
Nothing shocks me anymore. I have come to the undeniable conclusion that the media in this country is not biased. It is FAR worse. It is outright advocacy, outright lies, and lies by omission on a daily basis. All we can do is fight the good fight against it.

Read that headline. CBS is not only a pathetic excuse for a news organization; they are a pathetic excuse for writers of the English language. That headline doesn't make sense.

As a retired member of the N.Y.P.D. this upsets me to no end. Cowards and Punks are just two of the kind words I can come up with when describing these Assholes. Punks that wouldn't have the nerve to go after Sarah if she was a man. This I blame on the lame street media "LSM". They fuel these Assholes everytime they ridicule Sarah. I used to love 60 minutes, now? that network network is dead to me, I don't really see it as a news organization.
I have cancelled it from my satellite dish.
There was a time just a year or so ago when my opinions were formed from their opinions, and this is the power that I gave them, now I no longer do.
Many millions of democrats like me got their eyes opened last year after we saw this same nonsense against Hillary CLinton.
I remember during the primaries, during one of the last state primaries, the "news" agency cBS and CNN put out a story ON THE DAY OF THE PRIMARY that Hillary withdrew and conceded. So, all those people who might have heard this woudl have stayed home and not voted. THIS WAS DONE DELIBERATELY !!!!!! and all cBS and CNN had to do was actually ask Hillary's camp if this was true and they chose not to, and spread that lie.
That's when I knew and recognized, these arent news stattions, they are just propoganda shills. I have NO trust in any of them anymore!

Back in the day, CBS used to be the main network our family watched. I gave up on their news department a long, long time ago, due to their biased reporting. But, it wasn't until David Letterman's disgusting attacks on Sarah and Willow earlier this year that I decided to completely boycott the whole network. I blocked it entirely from my channel line-up. CBS is the vilest of the vile. I'm not surprised at this latest occurance.
This is UNCONSCIONABLE. CBS is. I read he actually hit two police officers...can't remember where I read it though. There should be a stiff penalty and Adrienne, your post made me irate at the egg thrower. What a cretin...to wear it as a badge of honor. I am tempted in calling up both the Rochester police and Borders to hear their side of the story.
I have watched a few documentaries on HBO lately. The one about LeCirque and the Italian family that runs it was superb. The Heidi Fleiss story disturbing. China's Stolen Children was eye opening and heart wrenching. Others I have looked at the title and decided I already knew the bias coming so forget it!
How does one actually block the network? Would my cable provider do it for me? Or is it a satellite thing?
Oh, I'm just referring to my two tv-sets at home. I took the CBS affiliate out of my channel rotation. Nothing more than that. But it's been very effective, as it prevents me from even 'happening' upon some show on the channel by accident.
It takes a lot to push me over the edge, but CBS did it with that Letterman incident, and I hold LONG grudges. Hearing about CBS' sympathetic siding with theat tomato-tossing psycho just furthers my loathing of them.
