WHERE IS EVERYONE/

Anne, December 11, 2009 9:08 PM

Cant wait to see this tonight! Means I'm going to have to stay up later.... :)

Ray in Ga., December 11, 2009 9:10 PM

I' just sitting here waiting. I don't have anything to say. This is my first post.

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:10 PM

Hello, Anne...you can stay up late tonight because it is Friday.

Andrew, December 11, 2009 9:10 PM

Sounds like he was doing another performing Palin tweets skits and she "dropped in to have a word".

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:11 PM

Outstanding!

gelston the knowitall, December 11, 2009 9:13 PM

eat your heart out, Dave

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:13 PM

Has anyone started the popcorn yet?...Yeah, I guess it's a little early!

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 9:16 PM

Will Todd be with her? Anyone.. anyone...;)

Nancy, December 11, 2009 9:16 PM

How dare she not inform the media about her plans to go on Conan!

section9, December 11, 2009 9:16 PM

I called this MONTHS ago. I knew that Palin would go onstage with the Shat Man while he was doing his tweets. This should be classic.

Great move by Sarah. And the Shat, btw. I bet you that Palin goes on Shat's "Raw Nerve" for an interview.

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 9:17 PM

Otherwise....I'm going to bed early!

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 9:17 PM

you mean he's not with you Cruela?

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 9:18 PM

I just don't get it...

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:19 PM

She totally loves a challenge.

Nancy, December 11, 2009 9:19 PM

If Larry King would have known her plans, he would have had 8-10 panelists, in Brady Bunch boxes on the screen, analyzing this so very rogue, Conan appearance!

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:20 PM

Yeah, right!

Andrew, December 11, 2009 9:20 PM

Liberals were all up in laughter and cheers that "Shatner destoyed Limbaugh" and yet they don't realize that Limbaugh and Shatner are friends. Limbaugh visits Shatner frequently to watch football.

Betcha Palin becomes a friend of Shatner now.

Bill in Baltimore, December 11, 2009 9:20 PM

I have to go to bed early ! I bet this is going to be a doozy, and I bet the audience gives her some respect.

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 9:25 PM

Thanks for wading in..and Welcome!

AmeriCuda, December 11, 2009 9:27 PM

Just saw the clip. She is AWWWWESOME!

Ch-ch-check it out....
http://www.ktuu.com/

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:30 PM

Have you gone to bed yet Cruela?

MarkRNY, December 11, 2009 9:30 PM

She's so damned smart. No fanfare. It'll be a surprise appearance type thing except for folks here. She's also showing that she can have a friendly back and forth with people who've busted her chops, as long as they don't cross the line with her kids/cheap shots like--Letterman!

Perfect way to end the tour in the lower 48--and I'm going to miss it!

Anne, December 11, 2009 9:33 PM

Unfortunately, I have to work tomorrow :( But, it's ok...I will stay up to watch my girl!

Mia, December 11, 2009 9:33 PM

Fab-U-lous!!!

Andrew, December 11, 2009 9:34 PM

Here is a teaser clip!

Looks like Governor Palin turns the tables on Shatner after he does his performance of her tweets.

I think she does a performance of his tweets!

Mia, December 11, 2009 9:34 PM

Hey Ray...Welcome!

Puma.for.Life, December 11, 2009 9:35 PM

Just watched the clip; she was awesome.

lmg, December 11, 2009 9:35 PM

That would be cool. And I bet it got arranged today, or at least "I'll have my people call your people."

Andrew, December 11, 2009 9:36 PM

Here is a teaser clip

Looks like Governor Palin turns the tables on Shatner after he does his performance of her book.

Governor Palin does a performance of his book!

Steven, December 11, 2009 9:36 PM

This lady is an absolute star and fearless. I have alot to learn from her. Man, talking about going into the den of lions. But she is controlling her image and her message so well and generating the buzz and publicity that continually keeps her fresh. Its amazing. Never has there been a public like her.

toughluck, December 11, 2009 9:36 PM

"In Calif,had blast w/William Shatner"

Ha! I knew they would get togheter at Conan's show! Ha! I called it! Now I really want to watch it :)

Andrew, December 11, 2009 9:37 PM

Take that back, I think that's not a teaser but the entire thing.

Anne, December 11, 2009 9:37 PM

awww, should I watch it now or wait til tonght.... decisions, decisions..

Nancy, December 11, 2009 9:40 PM

She can do no wrong.
That was hilarious!

jimr3, December 11, 2009 9:40 PM

I've been away from the computer a few hours and I come back to check in to see this wonderful surprise! The clip was excellent! Sarah doing things like the Gridiron dinner, and now Conan will go a long way into defusing a lot of the negative press. Well done Sarah!

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 9:40 PM

I just saw the video and it ROCKED!!! Is that the whole clip or just a teaser. I hope ther is more, the more of Sarah the better

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 9:41 PM

CRAP...it would have been better if Todd would have walked out with her and Stood Eye To Eye With the Shatner man! It would have been even better if he was wearing Spock Ears!

Bill in Baltimore, December 11, 2009 9:42 PM

the link not working, must be the long distance from Balt to AK

manajordan, December 11, 2009 9:42 PM

Just saw the clip. She did great. It looks like she is wearing the "Going Rogue" jacket. Its probably all part of the Wounded Warrior auction, since there are some in the audience and all. Good on ya Guv!

Nancy, December 11, 2009 9:43 PM

Governor Palin: Please read Al Gore's poem!
It could be a C4P exclusive video!

karenfromny, December 11, 2009 9:44 PM

That was great. I never watch the tonight show, but I guess I will tonight...

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:45 PM

She is just so completely, beautifully, totally gifted. Is there anything she can't do? Great end to her tour!

lmg, December 11, 2009 9:47 PM

Audience loved her!

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 9:47 PM

Is there more or is that Shatner clip the entire segment?

Nancy, December 11, 2009 9:47 PM

Why does it feel as if, with each appearance, SHmIT and Wallace crawl deeper into the holes to hide themselves from the embarrassment of how they mishandled and suppressed her last year?
Off the charts imbecilic, what they did.

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 9:47 PM

I was hoping she would diss Lettemran, like look right at the TV and say "HI DAVE"

Mia, December 11, 2009 9:49 PM

Hey.... "Trench Coat Dave".... you can interview "Katie Cougar"...hehehe..

jimr3, December 11, 2009 9:49 PM

She really is AmeriCuda. She seemed totally at ease and having fun, her timing was excellent - she is just plain good. I bet back stage she really hit it off with Conan and Shatner.

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:51 PM

You wish...you just want to see Todd!

TSM Admin, December 11, 2009 9:51 PM

I had been wondering what was going on. She finished Book Tour in ID yesterday and next schedule was book tour in AK Sunday. So, I figured spend time with relatives in ID today, travel back to AK Saturday. But that was too much spare time for Sarah!

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 9:54 PM

On Eddie Burke's show she said "We will be doing a few little fun things" so maybe that skit is just the beginning and there is more

debtstar, December 11, 2009 9:54 PM

Better ignoring him , he'll suffer worse.

jimr3, December 11, 2009 9:55 PM

Allah @ Hot Air has post up on this and the comments are really positive for Sarah.

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 9:58 PM

She never slows down...busy...busy...busy

terri, December 11, 2009 9:59 PM

That would be perfect!!!!!

But I bet the whole bit in context, Shat doing his thing he does so well, and THEN Sarah coming in, will have even more effect!!!

militantfeather, December 11, 2009 9:59 PM

This with the other talk show stuff is just the start. Sarah knows she needs to correct the perception some have that she is one-dimensional, and perhaps soften her image. She is a natural at that too ... a TV camera's dream.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 9:59 PM

Wow. that was great!

no questions.
no same old stuff about levi and stepping down and obama.

just sarah showing up to tell a few jokes and continue to make her place in American pop culture as a beautiful, witty, and smart American woman.

Those who aren't willing to hear her point right now will come to appreciate her realness and may come around to listening to her substance when they are ready.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:00 PM

yep its the whole thing.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:01 PM

Cuda's are usually more subtle.

terri, December 11, 2009 10:01 PM

I wonder if the "youngin's" in the audience know about "Mr Tamborine Man" and how truely horrible/ridiculous it was?

hrh, December 11, 2009 10:02 PM

And in other TV news, the Huck is on Greta now touting his Christmas special tomorrow night ... :)

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:02 PM

I also have to say that I love that she was chatting with Eddie Burke and had to cut him off cause they wanted her out on stage. She is certainly a multi-tasker :)

Anonymous, December 11, 2009 10:03 PM

Did you hear that applause? They LOVED her. She looked gorgeous as usual. The hair looked a little fluffier, perhaps Conan's crew did it? It looked like Conan got hit upside the head when he heard all that applause. You could see it on his face: So the public really doesn't despise this woman.

(Bitterclinger posting from a different computer)

Anonymous, December 11, 2009 10:03 PM

Boom !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:04 PM

I think there must be more because she told Eddie Burke she was there about the Wounded Warrior Auction. I'm guessing she mentions it as some point...

Nancy, December 11, 2009 10:05 PM

Oh shoot, I think I'm going to be throwing the toaster into the bathtub with me tomorrow night!

Wait, wait!
DVR!

Okay, all is well.

AmeriCuda, December 11, 2009 10:05 PM

Destined to be a YouTube classic to infinity and beyond!

terri, December 11, 2009 10:06 PM

Do ya think Shatner knew she was gonna be there?
Hard to tell with him if he was surprised or not.
Kind of has that shocked look all the time. s/

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:08 PM

I was actually really surprised at the long applause from his audience. I expected they'd be respectful, but she really got some love.

hrh, December 11, 2009 10:08 PM

Neat that Wounded Warriors were in the audience. Could Sarah have possibly arranged that? It was so last-minute and hush-hush. Wonder if they were able to get a plug in for the jacket. Isn't that the cover jacket/auction item she's wearing in the bit?

Wow! If they get that plug in, just watch the bidding go to $150K!! Sweet, sweet revenge. :)

This woman will do anything, go anywhere, right into the "enemy camp" for our military!!

Laura got another plug in tonight on BOR, too ...

lmg, December 11, 2009 10:09 PM

I was about to mention that. Think our current CinC could do that?

Beehive, December 11, 2009 10:10 PM

I just get the feeling, that the Guv is done taking everyone's garbage. She is going to face her critics head on and as she does she wins them over.

Nice one Guv.

Nancy, December 11, 2009 10:10 PM

I hope she drove to the studio in that bus of hers! -says lefty freakazoid (while stamping foot, scrunching face, and crossing arms)

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 10:12 PM

I'm sure I will be giving my fat grey cat a bath tomorrow night..should I cut his claws before or after the water exposure? Anyone here ever given a bath to a cat?....

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 10:12 PM

The look on Shatner's face was PRICELESS..he had that "Oh sh.." look on his face LOL

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 10:15 PM

WELL DUH!!! ;)

Beehive, December 11, 2009 10:15 PM

The Guv got some love from the liberals tonight! Awww.

Beehive, December 11, 2009 10:16 PM

Hey, how is she going to get that bus up to Alaska?

Man it must be hard to find a parking spot for that thing at the mall.

lmg, December 11, 2009 10:17 PM

Huck will be reading from his new book, "The Christmas Pardon - A Story of Release and Recidivism".

Recovering Democrat, December 11, 2009 10:19 PM

Did you notice Sarah got an incredibly positive response when she walked out?

Conan missed an opportunity, however. He said it was good to finally see those two together (Shatner, Palin) but he should have added:

"Can't you just totally see the two of them hitting the road to tour the country as an act?"

Ha!

Dan C, December 11, 2009 10:19 PM

Great Job. AND ALOT OF APPLAUSE from that audiance when she walked out! Heres an easy perdiction, she will go on with Conan as a guest and it will blow deviant dave out of the water.

People are not use to this kind of a political figure. She will go to the places where they make jokes about her. Shes always smiling. People like her energy. I will say it again....It is going to knock people on their asses when she wins. It will hit them like a ton of bricks. For me, and others here, it will freaking great, but her ability on full display will be no suprise.

TSM Admin, December 11, 2009 10:19 PM

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:22 PM

yeah... think that's from Alinsky... looks like she's studied it well ;)

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 10:22 PM

Is the Tonight Show on for people in the East Coast..Im hoping there are more skits. On the Eddie Burke show she said she would be doing a few fun things on Conan

Ted Torgerson, December 11, 2009 10:22 PM

Sure he knew. He was loving it.

TSM Admin, December 11, 2009 10:22 PM

Recovering Democrat, December 11, 2009 10:23 PM

I also noticed something else significant: Sarah had her lines memorized! I think the reports that she has a photographic memory may be accurate. Shatner was definitely reading his lines. Sarah knew her lines. Way cool.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:24 PM

yeah. my cats tolerate it, but don't really like it. They only have back claws and I usually trim them after cause they're much more jaggedy and sharp after cutting.

lmg, December 11, 2009 10:24 PM

I think the auction jacket is at home in Alaska. It's up to $35,000 right now. Shouldn't the media start complaining about how expensive her clothes are right about now?

hrh, December 11, 2009 10:38 PM

The timing is great on this, too.

Last week's venture into the DC den of the Gridiron was a huge success, getting the likes of Clarence Page and Lynn Sweet to say nice things about her.

But that momentum could quickly be lost and seen as a fluke by these very reluctant people.

So this quick hit to reinforce her good sportness - this time into the LA den - gives a one-two punch to cement the idea that she is for real, not a lightweight, but, indeed, a heavyweight.

NY Conservative, December 11, 2009 10:39 PM

Beyond awesome! She looked very comfortable, and delivered her lines fantasticly. Looks like her time spent as a TV news person were well spent. This one of the ways Sarah will gain ground with the middle...keep it up Sarah, you ROCK!

JeanA, December 11, 2009 10:40 PM

lmg, December 11, 2009 10:41 PM

There are still a lot of people to win over, those who hate her out of misinformation or just irrationalism. She's finishing Phase One of her recovery strategy. Phase Two will be speeches and interviews across the country, along with more op-eds. And there's that policy organization she mentioned.

JeanA, December 11, 2009 10:44 PM

He knew. He stepped away from the chair.

TSM Admin, December 11, 2009 10:47 PM

Another thought. Now that she has appeared on NBC in a positive and humorous way, maybe the loons at MSNBC will make some not so negative comments! Or maybe they will jump on Conan for having her on!

Izzy, December 11, 2009 10:47 PM

I thought...not only she seems like wearing the Rogue jacket but also the Rogue bottom/black pants. She looks gorgeous and funny.

JeanA, December 11, 2009 10:47 PM

Keep them close.

techno, December 11, 2009 10:48 PM

This is the kind of appearance that drives the anti-Palinites on our side just crazy. The day the 'insiders' tell her to go away, she sticks it to them by appearing in front of millions of people that will help cement her even more into the public consciousness. Sarah Palin actually drives both sides absolutely crazy. She attacks them on so many fronts that they can't anticipate what she is going to do next. Conducting a two front war and coming out the winner. Unknown in the annals of history.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:49 PM

they're not gonna openly confess love for her at this point. i think that is wishful thinking. their attacks on her only drop their ratings and legitimize her further at this point though, so, Chrissy Matthews... attack away.

Lakerfanalways, December 11, 2009 10:50 PM

For everyone on the East Coast, is that the only clip or was she on some more. I doubt Conan would post the entire clip on his web site, no oen would watch it live then since they already saw it..Im thinking there is more

lmg, December 11, 2009 10:54 PM

I wonder how many of the audience said to themselves, "I'm gonna check out her book."

Anonymous, December 11, 2009 10:55 PM

Her accent sounded almost southern here. Interesting.

All in all, a fun appearance. I did like how Shatner highlighted the Kid Rock part of the book. That stood out to me as well. I still want to know what some of his ideas are.

Overall, I think the whole book tour ended up going very well. Aside from that one instance of diving into the whole birth certificate issue there wasn't really any major controversy. I hope she stays aways from that in the future. Met lots of people throught the country in various locales. Seemed to be having a great time.

The book obviously has done very well, still right at the top of all the major sites 1 month running. I think Harper did the right thing by moving up the publishing date. And there's still the 2 weeks before Christmas which traditionally do very well sales-wise. The audio and large print versions have also done very well. But by any measure one of the more successful biographies ever.

I think this was really phase one. Phase two is to support other folks next year and help out. If things go well and a lot of the guys she supports win, she'll be in good shape and also have a broader network of support. Then I'd suspect Phase three would be a second book, more agenda driven along the lines of Audacity of Hope, basically laying out a potential platform and policy. Ideally this would come out the same time as the first one, a couple weeks after a huge GOP win in the midterms. Then you'd see what the landscape looks like come 2011. If Obama looks vulnerable and is consistently below 50%, I'd suspect she'd run. If the economy has recovered and he's well above 50%, probably not.

But considering she pretty much disappeared from view after her resignation speech for a few months, it was great to see her out and about for the past month.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:55 PM

hasnt played yet here.. not for another 35 mins!

Dan C, December 11, 2009 10:56 PM

I think I figured out what makes her so special. OK, there are many things I know, but if I boil it down and strip everything away here it is....

Sarah is content and does'nt care if she goes down guns blazing. What I mean when I say she doesnt care is not that she does'nt care about the country, FAR FROM IT, but that she does'nt care if she dies politically because in her mind she has it all. Great husband, great kids, great family, strong faith. Thats all she needs. She doesnt NEED to be president to satisy her ego or to be loved by the press, or to be loved by anyone outside of her family and friends. She knows that if politics ended tomorrow for her, she would be FINE and would LOVE IT! She would be with her family in Alaska, she would play with Trig and enjoy his growing up process. She would enjoy the outdoors, cook, shoot, pray, and have a great life.

Unlike everyone else in DC, she does not need validation so thats why she says "I have nothing to lose," and "If I die, I die." Losing a campaign is nothing to her which is why she is so scary to the left. Losing her son in war is bad, losing a campaign is nothing. Worst case, she goes back to the place she loves to be with the people she loves. Thats a fantasy for most people and she knows it! She has perspective that DC does not have! You can't scare someone, or intimidate someone who has no fear of what you can do to them. Sarah is not scared of losing a campaign and going home to the place she LOVES!

I think I hit the nail on the head with this one! Let me know if you agree. If not, keep it to yourself! JUST KIDDING:)

Nat Hound, December 11, 2009 10:58 PM

The thought of Thune or Romney pulling off something like that. Ha!

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 10:58 PM

watch it now!!!

an lifelong democrat-soon-2-B-independent, December 11, 2009 11:01 PM

bingo!

this is why democrats like me are Palin Democrats. This woman sees herself as an American first, not a republican, not any party affiationalism. And she believes in these conservative aka American values, and is not afraid to fight for them.

She is indeed a true patriot, and that cannot be faked, she is the REAL DEAL, and we know it! (even Independents and centerist democrats)

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:01 PM

this is the same link posted at the beginning of this thread.

T D, December 11, 2009 11:01 PM

If the Left was exploding over the Washington Post op-ed, imagine now.

Argh! Conan's audience be voters!

Not to mention in the age group that normally doesn't read or listen to the Left's "serious" talking heads.

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:01 PM

I cannot wait to see this tonight! am pleased to hear that this is not the only segment with Sarah on the show this is just one of the clips, btw I finished Going Rogue this afternoon Loved The Way Forward, I think it is the best part of the book, she writes exactly how I have always felt, after reading the book I feel like I have known her all her life and I could have a conversation with her for hours as if we were old friends, I will now make a bold prediction Sarah Palin will be the 45th president, she will defeat Obama not by a slim margin, not by a landslide, it will be a mandate for commonsense conservatism, its like she said I am running and I see the curve in the road and I can't wait till I get there to see what is next :)

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 11:02 PM

Oh, shoot where is Conan on? I really don't know and it is 10:00 pm here.

gelston the knowitall, December 11, 2009 11:03 PM

welcome, Ray

lmg, December 11, 2009 11:03 PM

Trust, but verify.

Lurker, December 11, 2009 11:04 PM

Think she can bump Shatner's book to #2? hehehe

yogi41, December 11, 2009 11:04 PM

Todd could never be eye-to-eye with Shatner; did you see how short William is in that clip? That surprised me; I didn't expect him to be such a shrimp.

yogi41, December 11, 2009 11:05 PM

Great idea, Nancy! That would be side-splitting hilarious. She and Shatner can perform it together.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:05 PM

its on nbc.

it's on at 1130p on the east coast after the 11p news.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:05 PM

Dan C, December 11, 2009 11:06 PM

Yes, comfortable is the key word! Whenever I see her, she is comfortable.

Anonymous, December 11, 2009 11:08 PM

better quality, don't you think?

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:08 PM

Sarah is making it cool to be a conservative but Sarah and all of us were conservatives before it was cool, this is a step in the right direction Andrew Breitbart said in order to affect conservative change in America we have to take back the culture from the left, we have to define the culture, for too long the left has defined what is cool and acceptable in popular culture

lmg, December 11, 2009 11:09 PM

It's too late for them. The pods got 'em.

CruelaDev, December 11, 2009 11:09 PM

Come too think of it.. Sarah did tell Laura...The Coat Would be "hand delivered!"

Indemind, December 11, 2009 11:11 PM

Hey Ray, where Have you been in space. Ha! Ha!

WELCOME!

sarah 2012

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:11 PM

yes. i like the ktuu vid better, but it is posted here in the comments, back toward the beginning. just trying to save the people that have already been there from the excitement that this might be new video.

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:12 PM

you nailed it Dan C! I was born in 1987 so I never really got to experience Reagan but I have read a lot about him, I wonder if any of the older people here think if she can surpass Reagan, I believe she can which is what Reagan would have wanted, he never did get the chance to get rid of the Departments of Energy and Education did he? I think she can and will

Wildmanbill, December 11, 2009 11:12 PM

I loved that crowds reaction. WOW!!! They loved Sarah. Did they even know she was going to be there?

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:13 PM

they sounded surprised... like they were trying to figure out if it was really her, at the beginning.

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:13 PM

defendAmerica: maybe I am reading Lurker's post wrong but I don't think Lurker means it literally, I think its a play on words

gelston the knowitall, December 11, 2009 11:15 PM

Or Tia Fey

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:16 PM

i dont think he means it literally either patrick.

militantfeather, December 11, 2009 11:16 PM

Good points, and I agree.

But I think Sarah the person is complex, and as a politician unique. That combination means she is very hard to define, or to predict.

My favourite phrase at the moment, and I just read it a few hours ago :).

Trust in Sarah America!

It may seem over-the-top but I like this because firstly, people relate to Sarah, she seems like one of us, somebody we would like as friend, with the same values and outlook (to life, if not political), and secondly, she inspires trust and optimism.

The phrase above combines all that.

ChillinInMN, December 11, 2009 11:16 PM

I agree with you. The Way Forward was my favorite too; I didn't want it to end.

Gina, December 11, 2009 11:17 PM

That was awesome beyond words! :-)

Gina, December 11, 2009 11:18 PM

I noticed that too! She didn't have to look at the page like Shatner did!

Anonymous, December 11, 2009 11:20 PM

Don't worry. She did a great job in that clip. No doubt that people will see it over and over again.

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:21 PM

they probably thought it was Tina Fey, don't know how they could make that mistake Sarah is much better looking indside and outside

Sapwolf, December 11, 2009 11:21 PM

Far out! I'm not too late to catch Conan. I'm on Pacific time here in Pahrump. My first training day at FrontSight was great. I'm paired up with a more experienced guy for the range work. My handgun is working great too, no problems. The people here are great........they are.....

Sarah's People

There was a cute little chinese lady who the instructor used to go over with the class instances of when to draw your weapon and tell a potential assailant to stop before he got too close. She was funny due to her soft voice when she yelled "Stop". At first she was not very ferocious, but got better. I saw several women there too.

Sarah going on Shatner and Conan seems big. Gonna go watch it now.

sandrainoregon, December 11, 2009 11:22 PM

Great comedy and great acting by both!

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:26 PM

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:39 PM

starting out with tiger woods jokes... those are too easy!

Nancy, December 11, 2009 11:39 PM

I think this is the type of thing she thought she would be doing in the campaign last year. If you look at how excited she was in her speech on August 29, 2008, you see her enjoying introducing her family to the American people. She was so used to seeing the American people in a certain way, the positive attitude of the American people, the goodness of the American people, and the rightness of their ticket's message, she was going to love this whole experience.
Even after it was revealed about Bristol's pregnancy, she believed in the forgiving spirit of the American people, and besides she must have thought, what does that have to do with my competency to be Vice President. And again, on September 3, in that fantastic RNC speech, she met the reality of their situation head on, drilled Obama time and time again. She was getting the message out, and having a ball doing it. She let the American people in on what she saw coming down the tracks, and trusted the American people to have the commonsense to see it too.

But then, the attacks came, and there was no answering salvo from her side. She was getting torn apart and her campaign took the Bush/RINO route of not fighting back. And because of the limp wrists on her side, the American people were getting a skewed picture of her. Because she was criss-crosssing the country, giving her blood, sweat and tears to keep the leftist from winning, and her own team was holding her back, she was never able to break through with who she really is.

And now we see, how easy it is for her to take jabs and turn them into assets. To show she knows her principles and beliefs and can articulate them without a TelePrompTer to tell her what to say. To poke fun at enemies, without bitterness, and revenge. To give speeches that are substantive and at the same time heartfelt.

This is going to be 3 years of a textbook campaign, and yet totally unconventional, in its happy, positive, encouraging, hardhitting, quick to diffuse campaign. Only she can pull it off.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:42 PM

agree, the mccain campaign messed up royally. she may have taken them to a win, despite bush's low polling numbers, and the economy in the crapper, and all of the attacks had they let her get out there and be herself, instead of trying to change her!

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:44 PM

now talking about sarah's book and bringing out shatner...

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:47 PM

she really was funny!

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:48 PM

and i noticed she was wearing her wedding ring :)

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:49 PM

Bear Grylls from man vs. wild is on tonight! i would have loved to have heard him and palin chatting backstage!

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 11:50 PM

They waaaayyyy screwed up!

ellen, December 11, 2009 11:50 PM

She rocked it!!
Conan was kind of awkward after Sarah walked off stage. I think he might have almost wet himself.

narciso, December 11, 2009 11:52 PM

Ah, man that was hilarious,

Zephyr, December 11, 2009 11:53 PM

It's just a shame that has become an object of people's attention.

ellen, December 11, 2009 11:54 PM

He probably was giving her a hard time for not touching the moose eyes. he has probably eaten them before! That guy is hardcore.

Ray in Ga., December 11, 2009 11:54 PM

Great. Sell those books to Hollywood.

defendAmerica, December 11, 2009 11:55 PM

lol... "it was my chance to appear on a network that people are watching!"

that was great!

PatrickinOH, December 11, 2009 11:56 PM

just saw it that was hi-larious! is there anymore segments with Sarah or was that it? Loved the look on Shatner's face! She needs to go on Leno and make fun of Letterboy

gardunne63, December 11, 2009 11:56 PM

OMG. Too funny. How can she look so stunningly beautiful AFTER three plus weeks of sleeping in hotel rooms and having to shake many tens of thousands of hands?

Tina Fey would need a lifetime of plastic surgeries just to look like Sarah's uglier younger sister.
