Disturbed Losers Banned for Good Reason (Updated)

As we noted, Governor Palin was in Wasilla on December 22nd signing copies of her record setting book and enjoying the company of those from her hometown and all over Alaska who came out to spend time with her and her family. Tracy Porreca, a conservative Alaskan, attended the event and wrote about the experience on her website:

As we were leaving down hall, I saw LindaJo standing next to three young servicemen. They were standing in front of the offices which had been set up as a VIP area, and her daughter Angelina was inside. I overheard LindaJo say my name, and then call me over. One of the young men explained that they were Marines getting ready to deploy overseas and were given permission to come over to see Sarah and get a book signed, but there were still about 1000 people in line, and they needed to be back on base in 1/2 hour. One kid, you could see, was almost desperate. They had spoken to anyone who had a name badge on that they could find, but no one knew how to get them to Sarah. I saw Lyn Carden, the head of the chamber, down the hall so I asked the boys to wait and ran to try to catch up with her. I explained the situation to her and brought her over. I asked her, "do you think you can get these guys to see her so they can get out of here quick?" She promised she would take care of them and make sure they got to see Sarah. As these young men started to leave, one of them said, "Thank you so much" and gave me a big hug, and then other two joined in. I explained to them I was ex-Navy and it was my job to make sure they got to where they needed to be, being Marines and all. We all smiled and they hurried off with Lyn. That was the best part of my day, because I felt like I was put there to help these kids see Sarah, and I know she enjoyed seeing them. And that's what it's all about for all of us, right?

However, not everyone was there with the intentions of being civil and treating others with the most basic respect that human beings extent to each other.

Judging by their past antics and writings, Dennis Zaki and Jesse Griffin attended the Wasilla book signing in order to cause trouble or perhaps worse.

For those who aren't familiar, I'll briefly review some of their background.

Dennis Zaki describes himself as an "freelance photojournalist based in Anchorage, Alaska". He operates the website Alaska Report, and along with Jesse Griffin, he is a member of a close network of liberal Alaskan bloggers who strive to politically destroy and personally embarrass Governor Palin at every opportunity.

When Governor Palin gave an introduction speech at a Michael Reagan speaking event earlier this year in Anchorage, Zaki was there to record it without permission, sell it CNN, and then upload the speech onto Youtube with this false title: "Sarah Palin Plagiarizes Newt Gingrich in Anchorage Speech June 3, 2009."

Zaki then went on to make the ridiculous claims that the Palins were getting a divorce, and that Governor Palin was being investigated by the feds. The latter was supposed to be the fulfillment of some "iceberg" the liberal Alaska bloggers were promising for months.

Perhaps most disturbingly, Zaki recently posted Governor Palin's address, directions to her home, pictures of her home, and this message:

In the winter you can walk out onto the ice and walk up to the house through the back door.

[...]

She doesn't mind visitors, just walk right up to the house and say hello!

It doesn't get any lower than this. This is an individual who means harm upon Governor Palin and her family. There is no other conclusion for such reckless and disgusting behavior. This violates every known rule of decency and the most basic courtesy of not wishing harm upon others, especially young children. This is the level of people that we're dealing with.

Jesse Griffin, also known as the blogger "Gryphen", operates a hate filled website that provides him the forum to spew his Trig Truther, meaning somebody who does not believe that Trig Palin is Governor Palin's son, nonsense, harass Governor Palin's children, and attempt to demean Governor Palin in the most repulsive ways imaginable. Here are some samples of Jesse's writings:

-By the way, that cap on her head? That is a McCain/Palin campaign cap that she is wearing in the home state of our President. Because she is just that much of a bitch.

-The bitch will still not leave this alone. (Here Griffin was referring to Letterman's tasteless joke about Willow)

-So our trailer trash Barbie of a Governor is also a spoiled brat who blames her failings on the people around her? Nothing that I learn about this nasty bitch surprises me anymore.

-Now THAT is one scary bitch.

-But just where did Trig Palin come from? As of today, as of this minute, and after over a month of searching I cannot tell you. I simply do not know for certain.

I do know however where he did not come from. He did not issue forth from Sarah Palin. He may have been conceived inside her house (The jury is still out on that one), but he was not conceived inside her uterus. On that one fact I have absolutely no doubt.

-Trig Palin is at the epicenter of Palin's popularity, and nature has seen fit to shield him to some degree by taking away his hearing, reducing his ability to see the rabid crowds, and slowing down his intellect to keep him from a constant state of panic.

On Track joining the Army, Griffin had this to say:

That is usually a choice made by somebody without many options. Say somebody who had been caught cutting school bus tires, or stealing vodka from a liquor store.

On Bristol's son Tripp, he has this to say:

Maybe he can bring that up while the kids in his elementary school are beating his ass because he has a stupid name.

These comments are just creepy:

-Or should she step off of a curb in her Franco Sarto red high heels and snap her ankle so that she can get some of that sweet Lisa Murkowski and Sonia Sotomayor sympathy?

-I think we can put that whole "I am a runner" B.S. to rest now. She has no defined hamstring muscle in the back of her legs, no shape to her quadriceps in the front, and a virtually non-existent gastrocnemius (calf muscle).

And it goes on and on.

Predictably, liberal websites are treating these individuals as legitimate members of the press who were denied access because of Governor Palin's supposed animosity towards the media in general. From TPM:

Sarah Palin's war on the media continues?

The woman who once called on the press to "quit makin' things up" took it a step further yesterday by allegedly banning four members of the media from a book event in Wasilla, Alaska.

On a four-person "banned list" -- yes, that term was actually used by police -- were a blogger, a videographer, a local radio host, and another person who hasn't been identified.

Shannyn Moore is the radio host. If you'll remember, after Governor Palin resigned, Shannyn Moore was spreading this malicious lie to anyone who would listen:

Alaskan Sarah Palin authority (and occasional BRAD BLOG guest blogger) Shannyn Moore, who broke the news at HuffPo today, tells me she believes, with good reason, that there is an "iceberg scandal that's about to break. She's doing damage control."

She says Palin is "resigning as part of damage control" due to a scandal that is "not of a family nature." ...


"The governor would not be able to continue her job when it comes out," she told me on the phone just now, before adding: "Why would Mark Sanford not resign, but Sarah Palin did? Her family didn't even know about the resignation until they were standing with her by the lake" when she made her announcement.

Because of Shannyn Moore's lies, the FBI had to finally release a statement declaring that they are not investigating Governor Palin and never had any intention of doing so.

As we've seen before, the MSM usually picks up these stories without the appropriate background or any context, so let's set the record straight. This is isn't about the media in general, but rather these specific individuals. Dennis Zaki, Jesse Griffin, Shannyn Moore, and the rest of the Alaska liberal blogger alliance are not and never have been legitimate members of the press. They're on a mission to destroy Governor Palin, harass her family, and humiliate her supporters. That's what they're about. As James Hastings, Wasilla Recreation and Cultural Services Manager, explained, banning them was in the best interest of public safety:

"At the end of the day, if something had gone wrong, it would have been my responsibility," Hastings said. "If I take three minutes on Google I can see that, given the nature of the people who were here, it wasn't in his (Zaki's) best interest to be here. He and others could have found themselves in a negative situation."

Hastings also explained that the signing was a private event paid for by HarperCollins.

Mel brought attention to an immature prank that the liberal Alaska blog Mudflats was encouraging it's readers to pull. Jesse Griffin also had a prank of his own in mind:

I wonder if she would still sign my book if I had maybe defaced the cover....you know....just a little....hardly noticable really.....if you don't look too close.

Putting aside their mean-spiritedness, it's not difficult to see how these "pranks" can spiral out of control and become a threat to the safety of the Palins, and the general order of these events. All it takes for someone to get hurt is one person to take things too far in the name of a prank, and the individuals on the banned list have shown that's exactly the kind of environment they would like to create and encourage. They and their readers have been actively planning just such pranks. They have already shown their disregard for the Palin family's safety and privacy when they published directions to their home and encouraged people to trespass and harass them. We at C4P would like to commend the safety conscious staff that acted correctly in banning these destructive trouble makers.

Update from TR: Andrew Sullivan has decided to weigh in on this issue with a post titled "What Really Irritates Todd Palin." Andrew, irritation would be an understatement considering that some of the people prohibited from attending this particular book signing are people who attack special needs children and soldiers. I suppose what usually irritates Sullivan is when a magistrate judge declares that the dismissal of criminal charges against him violates "the bedrock principle of our legal system that all persons stand equal before the law."
