Here is an article by Ben Smith. Tell me, are these people lazy or don't they care about getting their facts right. Gov. Palin was the governor of Alaska when she give the Evansville speech.

Palin: anti-abortion star by Ben Smith

"Since resigning the Alaska governorship many of her public appearances have been on the anti-abortion circuit — her first speech after her resignation was at the Vanderburgh County Right to Life fundraising dinner in Evansville, Ind., and in November she headlined Milwaukee fundraiser for Wisconsin Right to Live. She has fought President Barack Obama’s health care reform in large part on anti-abortion grounds: It would, she’s claimed, expand coverage for abortion, and steer the elderly toward euthanasia."

I need advice from those who've been to booksignings before. I'm going to the Fairfax one tomorrow morning. What's a good time to go get in line tonight? (I called the store but they were no help.)

Good Morning....Pray my truck starts today...it's -3 degrees!

Good morning all. Off to work and then to a college basketball game this evening, so I may not see any of you until late tonight. Try to hold off on the fun stuff til I get back!

Ok?

Yet that Ben Smith thinks Palin is the idiot. Talk of kettle calling pot black.

Money Maven, December 4, 2009 8:45 AM

They are trying to tag her as a social conservative when she has been consistently focusing on economic and national security issue. Don't bite the bait

Whitney, December 4, 2009 8:47 AM

Ben Smith saying that about Sarah is the pot calling the cotton ball black.

CruelaDev, December 4, 2009 8:49 AM

Yeah.. I just don't see a lot of folks camping out on Monday and Tuesday here for The Palin visit. I have my -110 snowmobile boots and snowmobile outfit..but ...Sorry.. Good Gov...I love you but 5 seconds and a signature just is not worth it! Temps on Monday night are expected to be single digits with wnd chills in the negatives! And then there is that pesky snow thingy! YUCK!

CruelaDev, December 4, 2009 8:50 AM

Only a true golfer would know about such things!

Mia, December 4, 2009 8:53 AM

I'll put up with the... Fruits and Nuts!

Mia, December 4, 2009 8:57 AM

I don't own a 3 iron....hmmm...I better reconsider...

narciso, December 4, 2009 9:04 AM

Right from the start, Ben Smith has got a key fact wrong, it happened at the tail end of her legislative session, while she was still Governor, in fact was it Ramras or Hawker who made such a big deal of it to VF
and the Conroy book.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 9:26 AM

I hate Friday.

Because for every second that ticks away on Friday, that brings me closer to Monday, which I REALLY hate.

Saturday is no fun either, because then it's like less than 48 hours from Monday.

And Sunday is the worst, sitting in church and then watching football 'n stuff, then I'm on like a 12 hour clock to Monday, sheesh.

Then on Monday, I drag myself to work and all I think about is Friday (loop to top)

Ah, life is good.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 9:30 AM

If Sarah is anti-abortion, then Ben is what, PRO-abortion ???

me-thinks he mischaracterizes her for a uh, political reason.

Sarah only says one thing: "I choose life"

Each of these three simple words, one being a single character, is profound. Together they are an earthquake in the cacophony surrounded this debate, because it turns the "pro-choice" argument on its head.

Whitney, December 4, 2009 9:31 AM

Good morning everyone!

I posted this on an open thread last night, but since there are people from all over the country here, I wanted to get people's thoughts on El Paso, TX.

I have a job opportunity there if I want it.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 9:33 AM

Guest,

I am staging myself tonight at the Hyatt Fairfax, which is like 1.5 miles from BJ's. I will get to BJ's about midnight to see what is the activity, and perhaps return at 5am or so.

Weather forecast is low 30's with 70% chance of precipitation, possibly white stuff.

After work today, I will be twittering as TheSarahReport.

if you want, you can reach me via e-mail, go to my website listed in my profile and scroll down, you'll see a g-mail account.

Starting around midnight tonight, I will be on twitter for the Fairfax book signing, follow me as TheSarahReport.

Then on Saturday, I have my secret meeting with my Reaganite friend at an undisclosed location inside the Wash Beltway. Something about strategy and stuff.

Hopefully I will give him a signed copy of her book. Otherwise, he gets the CD version.

I'll have pics and a write-up available sometime Sunday.

People, when you have a chance, go to Gateway Pundit today. They've been all over Obama's Safe School's Czar from the beginning, and his association with NAMBLA, among other out-of-the-mainstream associations. Well, today, they are breaking another story about Kevin Jennings, the Safe School's Czar.

He is the founder of an organization called GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), which is still in operation. This organization strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. The material they are recommending to schools is where the problems lie. Take a look at the material, which is copied in detail over at Gateway Pundit. It is definitely graphic and many of the images can be deemed pornographic. Seriously, this is their recommended reading list for grades 7-12, (ages 12-17). It is quite lengthy, so when you have time, take a look and read what they were able to scan and post.

Good morning, all. God bless.
Want to include here what I added to the "Worthy Heroes" thread above:

Xerox Corporation is doing something very nice. Click on this link www.LetsSayThanks.com and you can choose any one of a number of postcards designed by kids across the USA to send to our military personnel serving overseas. Simple, quick and easy to do. I just did it a few minutes ago.

Pick a card, choose some additional words of thanks, click submit. Done. Requires name (but not full name) and town. No email or other address required, so Xerox clearly is not trying to gather your personal info. Try it, you'll like it. And the soldier, sailor, marine or airman who receives the card will surely appreciate it.

CharterOakie, December 4, 2009 10:21 AM

Whit - I saw the response by [?] yesterday and realized that I couldn't add much, as I haven't been to El Paso in 20 years or so, and then only on business a few times. I thought it was an interesting locale based on climate (semi-arid to arid), topography (a small mountain or two overlook the city) and location (Juarez, Mexico directly across the Rio Grande). It's a long way from any of the major Texas cities, or any other major city for that matter. Fairly unique atmosphere, imo.

Agree with Bill, you should certainly visit if you're seriously considering it.

narciso, December 4, 2009 10:31 AM

That was a revolting thing about Jennings, for safe school czar, I listed to the Humphries interview, she said these things almost in passing, partially out of frustration, an unforced error perhaps, but I recall many of those stressing that point, were panicking over her decision not to veto the stimulus, attend the NRSC
dinner, or even the resignation, all things that were supposed to have finished her,

Whitney, December 4, 2009 10:32 AM

Chariots of Fire, Eric Liddell said that when he ran, he felt he was running for God and felt God while he was running.

He refused to run in the Olympics on Sunday, ran in a different race, and won a Gold medal, as did his collegue, Harold Abrahams, an English Jew (who had felt the sting of anti-Semitism at Cambridge.

Eric liked (as do I) this verse:
Isaih 40:31: 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and be not weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.'

My other life verse Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
- this is in Going Rogue, 1st chapter or so, I was so excited when I read this.

Eric Liddell came from missionary parents and went back there after his Olympic victory to be a missionary.

Did Sarah's little flare-up on the birther non-controversy get any legs ?

If so, she should stick to her guns.

she should put her response (from last night, it's a good response) on a 3x5 card and memorize it.

Also, when pressed, which she surely will be, she should add that the President ran on a theme of transparency.

and the truth is when you run for President, your life is an open book.
- normal people understand this.

if the MSM run with this, it will only hurt The One

Principle # 10 of The Effect of Sarah Palin: "Live your life as if it is an open book", rest here

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 10:46 AM

I definitely do NOT want to hit the "Like" button on this one !

we need an "outrage" button !

techno, December 4, 2009 10:46 AM

Bill in Baltimore, with all due respect the editors of C4P want us to move on and what I think we should now focus on are two other recent Palin Facebook posts: 1) climategate; 2) her paean to the modern American miiltary person

In these posts Sarah clearly exposes Obama for the Machevellian impostor and charlatan that he is regarding the importance of Copenhagen and that he is sincere in his support of the troops. That is the message we have to keep hammering home to change hearts and minds.

yogi41, December 4, 2009 10:49 AM

Whit.. I gave you my response..BIG COCKROACHES! LOL...Actually I have family there..
It's alright...I would not move there...but I come form Colorado...that would be a huge step down...LOL

Ben Smith - the lovechild of Jonathan Martin and Mike Allen.

Ooop. I hope I don't get 'flagged' by Politico or the White House for being a mean-spirited whitey.

yogi41, December 4, 2009 10:56 AM

One way she can make certain that Climategate gets covered by the networks and the newspapers is to make a huge portion of her delivery at the Gridiron Dinner about this topic.

Peter Pan, December 4, 2009 10:57 AM

You dont bend-over to please the birther loons, its all about PR.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 10:58 AM

techno, have the editors said they want us to move on ? If so, I will.

But C4P had a post on this and Sarah Facebooked on it, so it wasn't like I started talking out of my head.

Of all people, I would think you would consider this worth addressing based on the Maciavellian world view you bring.

Whitney, December 4, 2009 11:03 AM

Yeah, I saw your response. Thanks. I wouldn't be too excited about the bugs. I'm in a unique and exciting position job wise. I have the opportunity to move, but my job here in IL is not in jeopardy (at least right now). At the same time, my job here in IL would change drastically, which puts me in the position where it would be feasible for me just to look for a job anywhere. I don't know what I'll do, but in a lot of ways this is an answer to prayer. We'll see what happens!

I drove through CO this summer for the first time. It is beautiful! The wallpaper on my computer is a pic that I took while driving east of Colorado Springs. I've actually considered looking for a job out there. I'm absolutely fascinated by mountains. I've lived in the flatlands of Illinois my whole life.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 11:16 AM

Norah O'Donnell is at it again:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2009/12/04/norah-palin-supporters-too-busy-know-whats-going

NORAH O'DONNELL: [Palin] does represent a significant portion of this country, that may not be reading the newspaper every day in and out, or have the time to do that because they're working too hard.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Oh boy.

O'DONNELL: No, really.

BRZEZINSKI: Just don't log onto Twitter today. Just don't do it.

O'DONNELL: No, no, really. Most people don't have the luxury of spending 30 minutes to an hour to read the newspaper every day. Because they've got to take care of their kids, they've got to get to work, and they're [inaudible] second job, and they think this goverment is too big, and they think taxes are too high--even though taxes are about a 70-year low in this country--but nevertheless they don't like the government.

PEC, December 4, 2009 11:22 AM

So for none of the big netwroks have picked up on the Conspiracy theory. My guess is her fast Facebook helped. She clarified her comments.

riley4palin, December 4, 2009 11:27 AM

Bingo!!

I would love for Governor Palin to put her hand over her forehead and look out in the audience and ask if anyone has seen Al Gore here tonight?

Follow that with another dig to both Obama and Al Gore that she really just wants to give a "shout out" to Mr. Gore because she heard it costs a lot of money these days just to shake his hand.

Perhaps some of the money that Al Gore makes off Global Warming and hand shakes could be used to pay for the 2.5 Trillion Health Care Bill before Congress.

Ooo weee...this could be fun. I wish Social Secretary Desiree Rogers could get me a ticket to attend the dinner. Darn it.

Whitney, December 4, 2009 11:29 AM

She could say I can see snake oil science from this podium.

Do you want to go crash, Riley?

Money Maven, December 4, 2009 11:31 AM

Mitt Romney is out with a 10 Point Plan in USA today on how to fix the economy. And Tim Pawlenty just hired a financial guy to his Freedpom First Pac. I'm not much of a Romney fan but he is showing some originality by coming out first with a Plan.

We have to Focus on the economy. Anything else is a distrction.

What I think many folks yesterday missed on the Rusty Humphries interview that Sarah amplified what she had said to Rush Limbaugh on the subject of illegal immigration, Here is the segment:

Question: (to Rusty) Please ask Sarah her position on illegal aliens and clsoing our southern border, thank you

Palin: We need to close the borders. They are called illegal aliens for a reason and if they are not going to follow the rules they should not be in our country. It's pretty simple-I ratched that one down to the simple answer because it's an easier answer than some politicians want it to make it be, you close the borders. You get more aggressive about cracking down on the illegal aliens and we take it serious what our border patrol officers are trying to do.

riley4palin, December 4, 2009 11:44 AM

This is the event of the year in my opinion. I wish we could crash so that we could see her take down the LSM. Will my blonde highlights get us through? Do you have a sparkling red dress?

My guess is if they do...they look like fools. They know they gave OBAMA a pass and tried to take Sarah to the mat on everything she says and does. They know
they have been exposed by the Cuda and will continue to be....they can't fool the public any longer about her without being exposed.

KeeleyH, December 4, 2009 11:53 AM

Her Facebook post clarified everything. If the MSM wants to give her grief on this, it will be THEIR unforced error. They don't want to go there. If they do, people WILL start asking questions about Obama, all kinds of questions.

Was it an unforced error on Sarah's part? I'm going have to go "moderate" on this and say...yes and no.

On the one hand, I like her style of not being overly PC. On the other hand, it created unwanted "stupid conspiracies" which distracted from her brilliant post about Climategate.

Personally, I'm more concern about the long-term strategy of keep bringing up his past associations. While I agree with her that they are questionable, as a political strategy, it may have lost its effectiveness by now. The best time to pound on that issue would have been BEFORE the Iowa primary, and most certainly before Super Tuesday. But it didn't happen. When the news finally broke in March 2008, people were concerned and it helped Hillary a little bit, but not enough. His speech helped defuse things a little. And the fact that McCain never brought it further defused things.

The whole point about Rev. Wright etc. was to question his judgment so he wouldn't be elected. Now that he is already POTUS, let's focus on his CURRENT actions and judgment. It would be more effective and less potentially controversial to focus on everything he has done since becoming POTUS, rather than dwell on things that happened before.

I realize that Sarah isn't afraid of controversies, but I'm sure she doesn't enjoy wasting time and energy dealing with them, either.

Another dig about Obama's LACK OF TRANSPARENCY and doing it the "Chicago way" would be appropriate as well. Perfect time to twist the knife of evoking Executive Priviledge for a Social Secretary. Was this Valerie Jarret's call, Michelle's, or Obama's? Have your ever heard of such a thing?

techno, December 4, 2009 11:59 AM

Sarah only had 30 seconds with Rush but she said the same thing except she did not get into closing the border or border guards; in her interview with Rush she talked about working with border governors. But as I mentioned with Rusty she expanded on the original answer and brought the idea home again that she is diametrically opposed to McCain's position on illegal immigration or amnesty.

Of course Mittens has to focus in on the Economy. He cannot very well talk about what the Obama Administration has highlighted for the last 10 months regarding Health Care now can he?

riley4palin, December 4, 2009 12:11 PM

A significant portion of this country does not watch MSNBC either so you are covered there Norah.

Here is more on the Jihad practise on the Air Tran flight from Atlanta to Housten on Nov 17 including an interview. Why have the LSM been so quiet???

this sounds like Laura Ingraham 10 point thingee.

PEC, December 4, 2009 12:18 PM

Actually I am beginning to believe this is a great move. She has just destroyed any media that tries to be a Triger. Think about it, they can't criticize her as a birther (and with her Facebook she escaped that) and then turn around and call somebody a birther. Any moderate that does at that can see how stupid it is.

Nat Hound, December 4, 2009 12:22 PM

Who is ready for a Palin-style tailgate in Fairfax tonight? Has anyone heard whether you need to be a BJ's "member" to participate?

cookboy, December 4, 2009 12:24 PM

One of my all time fave songs happened there!
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
Night-time would find me in Rosa's cantina;
Music would play and Felina would whirl.

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden;
I was in love but in vain, I could tell.

One night a wild young cowboy came in,
Wild as the West Texas wind.
Dashing and daring,
A drink he was sharing
With wicked Felina,
The girl that I loved.

So in anger I

Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.

Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,
Out where the horses were tied.
I caught a good one.
It looked like it could run.
Up on its back
And away I did ride,

Just as fast as I

Could from the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico.

Back in El Paso my life would be worthless.
Everything's gone in life; nothing is left.
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death.

I saddled up and away I did go,
Riding alone in the dark.
Maybe tomorrow
A bullet may find me.
Tonight nothing's worse than this
Pain in my heart.

And at last here I

Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;
I can see Rosa's cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
Down off the hill to Felina I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys;
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
I have to make it to Rosa's back door.

Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side.
Though I am trying
To stay in the saddle,
I'm getting weary,
Unable to ride.

But my love for

Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere Felina has found me,
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.

Well, if RAM has anything to do with the Gridiron speech, it's going to be a doozy.

Nat Hound, December 4, 2009 12:25 PM

Yogi,

I am praying that AndreaMitchellNBCNewsWashington and Norah are at the book signing in Fairfax. In the words of Cerrano from the "Major League" movies, "bring that [stuff] to me, bring that [stuff] to me..."

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 12:28 PM

Ellen, I posted the exact same question today, I think on this thread.

I'm not getting e-mail replies anymore. Hope you see this.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 12:30 PM

Nat Hound,

I will tuck Mrs. BiB in bed around midnight tonight (at the hotel), then head on over to BJ's. I fully expect there to be a lot of people in front of me.

but I will be dressed for the weather, full rain gear, backpack, laptop, BB, camera, notepad, and my C4P sign from the Sept 12 Tea Party in DC.

you can follow me on twitter at TheSarahReport.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 12:31 PM

^^^ and my C4P baseball hat.

Nat Hound, December 4, 2009 12:31 PM

No, it is completely different. If I remember correctly, the LL interview was done via telephone the day before the "live" radio interview.

riley4palin, December 4, 2009 12:32 PM

I was getting replies to my comments up until a week ago. Not anymore.

Nat Hound, December 4, 2009 12:38 PM

I will see you there, then. About the time I was planning on heading over...

Money Maven, December 4, 2009 12:42 PM

I think she needs to clarify what she means by "Close the Borders" as it relates to Foreign citizens in the country illegally. The borders are necessary means for trade and commerce.

Strick border enforcement I support. I am not sure closing the borders is efffective policy. I wish one politician would just come out and say:

Only those who came in the country legally can become naturalize citizens. All others will only be allowed Amnesty by means to permanent residency. If anyomne wants a path to citizenship they must first leave the country and pursue the legals channels of entry. If they fail to leave the country, then they forfeit the path to citizenship and can only be allowed legal residency after a period of paying penalty fees.

WIthout Citizenship they cannot vote. That is the way we need to attack this Illegal immigration from. If they want to work, let them but no path to citizenship if they fail to obey the rules.

latinchic, December 4, 2009 12:58 PM

I'm not getting them anymore either. I don't remember if I changed settings.

William Henley, December 4, 2009 12:58 PM

I lived in El Paso from 79 to 84. I actually liked it but you gots to be careful. If someone spits out the window, the cars behind will hit the wet spot and wreak and the might be a 50 car pile-up. It did snow once 2 days before Christmas and that was beautiful. INHO, go live there for 3 or 4 years, work and play and then move somewhere else. Nice place to visit.

AKReport, December 4, 2009 1:00 PM

fox nation needs to change it's main headline.

latinchic, December 4, 2009 1:00 PM

Irony Alert: I just got back from Mexico on Sunday. One of my aunts told me that they are required to have PHOTO ID when voting.

I guess Mexicans are racist too...

cookboy, December 4, 2009 1:05 PM

Vermin in the house? Seal up any cracks or openings that aren't doors or windows, clean up the kitchen to remove any food souces and generally create an inhospitable environment, and apply poison or traps to eliminate those within the house. Yep, it's just common sense.

Nancy, December 4, 2009 1:23 PM

This is so not good.

Nancy, December 4, 2009 1:24 PM

He lives up to the standard he has set for himself.

Bill in Baltimore, December 4, 2009 1:28 PM

Nat, if the weather report is correct, I will have on full black rain-gear.

You also won't miss me with a big C4P sign.

Nancy, December 4, 2009 1:28 PM

Cruela,
I called the Borders store where she is signing and according to the nice lady I spoke to, they will not allow camping out on Monday. They will allow people to start lining up on Tuesday morning at 8, and will begin handing out wristbands at 10 am, then after getting your wristband, you can leave and come back for her book signing. She is scheduled to be there at 7 pm-10pm.
I can not wait to see the stampede to run to get in line at 8am on Tuesday morning! Should be quite a scene!:) Woo-hoo!

Nancy, December 4, 2009 1:31 PM

Colorado is definately a step up from most anywhere!:)

AmeriCuda, December 4, 2009 1:56 PM

If you have a collapsable chair, I highly recommend bringing it. That was, without a doubt, the most valuable commodity in the Grand Rapids line.

ellen, December 4, 2009 2:03 PM

Oh, sorry for the repeat then.
Looks like there are a handful of us with the same problem. Im certain I didnt change my settings.

Anyone at c4p tech support know what is going on??

CruelaDev, December 4, 2009 2:07 PM

Yeah.. I have to work.. to bad...

CharterOakie, December 4, 2009 2:10 PM

Bravo, cookboy. I considered referring to that Marty Robbins song in my response to Whitney.

CharterOakie, December 4, 2009 2:22 PM

Same here. Email replies stopped coming at some point during this past week.

Laurie, December 4, 2009 2:36 PM

yes you need to be a B"s member

CharterOakie, December 4, 2009 2:52 PM

Thanks, karen. Excellent video clips.

For the first time since his auguration the CNN poll now has Obama's job approval/disapproval numbers at 48/50; and this poll takes the opinion of ADULTS, not registered voters or likely voters, which tends to be more accurate and reflect the true numbers. Obama is in trouble folks when a state-run media poll shows him going into the tank. By the way his mid Nov numbers were 55/42. That's a loss of 15 points in 2-3 weeks.

techno, December 4, 2009 3:55 PM

I'm a little behind with this polling info but via the Harris Interactive poll:

Obama's job approval/disapproval for November: 43/57
                                                       October: 45/55

conducted online between Nov 2 and Nov 11 with 2303 ADULTS

Harris shows Obama plummeting as well.

eclecticak, December 5, 2009 3:38 AM

The uncommonly cold and snowy weather in the Southwest is GREAT material for a sarcastic 'Global Freezing' joke!

The only problem with the new greater exposure of C4P is we seem to be aquiring a whole new crop of 'concern trolls' and the old ones are posting more often then they were for awhile.....

I highly recommend to new persons that they lurk and read for a longer period of time to get the feel of the place before they inadvertantly insert their foot in their mouth.....

Anyone that questions Lady Sarah's honesty, motives and strategy has NO PLACE HERE!

Ditto for anyone that thinks they know better than her how to handle her own life!
